WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING the aftermath of the big event! Tony and David opened the show after footage was shown of the closing seconds of the Bockwinkel/Backlund title match. Tony said Backlund had his aspirations cut short at the hands of Heenan and Bockwinkel but David introduced a man who came out on top in his big US title defense, Tommy Rich. Tommy said Manny is a great competitor but he was the better man that night and he hopes they can put that dispute to rest. David said another man made his intentions known that he's looking for that US title and he's wrestling next, Nikita Koloff. Nikita Koloff defeated Gary Royal in less than a minute.Nikita attacked at the bell, beat Royal down, and won after a Russian Hammer. After the bell Ivan Koloff came over to the commentary area to badmouth the US champ. Rich took offense and began arguing with Ivan when NIKITA sneaked in from behind and jumped the US champ. Redd Dogg jumped into the fray and the three-on-one beating proceeded until Magnum TA and Ranger Ross came out to make the save. Ross and Magnum battled Dogg and Ivan as Rich tried to mount a comeback on Nikita. Commissioner Bill Watts led armed security out and told them to get Nikita out of the building, then said if Magnum and Ross want to battle Ivan and Redd Dogg they can take it to the ring. Ivan Koloff and Redd Dogg won by countout over Magnum TA and Ranger Ross.Ross got isolated on the floor by Dogg as Ivan battled Magnum on the opposite side of the ring. Dogg used the chain to KO Ross, who could not meet the referee's ten count. After the break Tony and David talked to Bob Backlund. Bob said the NWA world title was within his grasp, just like that bottom rope Bobby Heenan pulled away from him at the end of the match. Bob said it was his mistake to let his shoulders touch the mat while he was trying to break the figure four, but if it weren't for Heenan the result could have been very different. And speaking of very different (BOB IS GETTING ANGRY) Backlund raged that Bockwinkel will see a very different Bob Backlund WHEN - not if, but when! - they meet again. And he should be very afraid because once this side of Bob Backlund is unleashed there will be HECK TO PAY! Thunderbolt Patterson came out to calm Bob. He said in his book Backlund is the real NWA champion right now and if he ever needs a cornerman Bob can call on Thunderbolt to be there. T-Bolt then went to the ring for his match. Thunderbolt Patterson defeated Greg Stone after a HEAD BUTT.A lopsided affair as Stone fell within two minutes to the head butt. Rock Riddle led his new tag team champions over for an interview. Rock said he heard the Road Warriors are mad they lost the belts without getting pinned, so if they want to come out right now they can get the rematch. David admonished Riddle, saying everyone knows the Road Warriors left for a lucrative tour of Japan earlier this week and his challenge is nothing but a grandstand. That brought out RICKY AND ROBERT, THE ROCK N ROLL EXPRESS. Ricky said the Warriors aren't there, but the Express is, "so why don't we have that title match right here and right now?" Riddle ordered his Moondogs to the ring and said Ricky and Robert could follow "at their own peril". ...so of course the Moondogs attacked as Ricky and Robert climbed through the ropes, and the match was on. The Moondogs beat Rock N Roll Express when Spot pinned Robert to defend the NWA tag team title.Really fun match. The Moondogs finally got a win over the Express when it counted. The bone came into play in the end, with Robert getting wacked by Rex while Spot had the referee distracted. Spotty then went on to get the pin as Rex kept Ricky from getting involved. Jimmy Valiant and Manny Fernandez came out to speak before the main event. Jimmy said he's glad the night at the Omni is over and they can put this stuff with Manny and Tommy behind them. Manny said Jimmy is right, his focus is clearer than it's ever been and it's time to concentrate on who and what is really important. The two shook hands and headed to the ring. The match pitting Jimmy Valiant and Manny Fernandez versus Masked Superstar and Spoiler never happened asRAGING BULL ATTACKED JIMMY FROM BEHIND AS THEY WERE SQUARING OFF WITH THE MASKED DUO.Superstar and Spoiler joined in as Manny put the boots to Jimmy, while JJ Dillon watched and laughed. Finally, Spoiler and Superstar held Jimmy against the ropes while JJ pulled out A PAIR OF SCISSORS and handed them to Manny. Manny Fernandez began cutting the beard of the Boogie Woogie Man!
Finally Thnuderbolt Patterson ran out with a chair and chased the rulebreakers away.
Manny and JJ walked over to talk to a disgusted David Crockett. Manny said he told everyone the focus was on what's important now, and that's Manny Fernandez. So, along with the help of HIS NEW MANAGER JJ DILLON, Manny will reach the top without that albatross Jimmy Valiant weighing him down. He said he cut Jimmy's beard to take his dignity, but if he comes back his beard won't be the only thing he loses.
Manny and JJ walked away as T-bolt helped JImmy in the ring.
After a few minutes Jimmy was able to regain his composure and walked over to Tony and David. Boogie was in tears with his beard half gone. He wailed in anguish and asked "WHY? WHY? WHY, BROTHER?" as he held clumps of his own hair in his hands. "YOU CUT MY BEARD, BUT YOU MIGHT AS WELL HAVE CUT OUT MY HEART!" Jimmy exclaimed in a hoarse voice before collapsing to the ground. Patterson helped him to his feet and guided him away.
...And that's all for this time, fans, we'll see you next week.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLINGw/Tony and David Tony and David recapped the situation from last week with Manny Fernandez and Jimmy Valiant, then brought out Manny Fernandez and his NEW MANAGER JJ Dillon. Davis simply wanted to know "why?" and Manny said because he finally opened his eyes and realized that with a friend like Jimmy Valiant he'd be better off having enemies. Manny noted that they were the hottest team not named the Road Warriors for months and it never got them anywhere because he kept gettging dragged into Jimmy's problems. So now he's looking out for himself and JJ Dillon will be at ringside to make sure he gets what's coming to him. David said THUNDERBOLT PATTERSON thinks he knows what's coming to Manny and he intends to give it to him in tonight's main event. Bob Backlund defeated Lenny Lane after the ATOMIC DROP.Bob was very intense and did not let Lenny get much offense en route to a lopsided win. Tony and David talked to Bob after the match. Tony said Nick Bockwinkel is scheduled to head down to Memphis to meet the challenge of Superstar Bill Dundee next, but after that he's headed back to this area and fans would love to see a rematch between the two. Bob was very interested in Nick's schedule and said maybe he'd do some travelling of his own and he hears Memphis is a lovely place this time of year. US champion Wildfire Tommy Rich won by countout over Redd Dogg (w/Ivan Koloff). This was a good, competitive match. Eventually the action went to the floor where Rich got the better of Redd Dogg. Tommy rolled back inside and Ivan instructed his student Redd Dogg to walk away since "the referee is clearly another biased American". Ivan went over to Tony and David to yet again complain about the biased American officiating and how the Russians cannot get a fair break. Magnum TA entered the scene and said he has a solution: they meet in the ring tonight in a no disqualification match so all Ivan has to be concerned about is the referee being able to count to three. Ivan said in USA this is not a sure thing, what with the shoddy public education system, but he will take his chances. After a commercial break, Rock Riddle led the world tag team champions The Moondogs to the interview area. He said they once again proved that under his leadership the Moondogs are the best team going. The Road Warriors have left, the Rock N Roll Express have been defeated, and there's nobody anywhere who poses any kind of challenge. David was elated to tell Rock that he thinks there is SOMEONE who can give them a challenge and they're coming to the area real soon! Magnum TA defeated Ivan Koloff in a no disqualification match after Redd Dogg's interference backfired.Lots of action here and both men wore the crimson mask by the end. Magnum went on top for a cover but Rodney jumped in to interfere. Magnum spotted him and knocked him out of the ring with a dropkick. Ivan charged Magnum from behind, but TA turned around a hit the BELLY TO BELLY for the pin. Tommy Rich and Magnum went to talk to Tony and David after the bout. Tommy said the Russians are full of sneak attacks and dirty tricks, but when it backfires they blame everyone but themselves. He said there'd be nobody to blame but Tommy Rich when that little win streak nephew Nikita has put together comes to an end and the US title is staying in the hands of a real American where it belongs. Manny Fernandez (w/JJ Dillon) defeated Thunderbolt Patterson. Patterson dominated the opening moments of the bout and Fernandez appeared to be in trouble. After rolling out of the ring and conferring with Dillon he soon managed to turn things around and got the pin after roughly six minutes of action after the FLYING BURRITO.

MEMPHIS RASSLIN hosted by Lance Russell w/Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert Lance and Eddie opened the show and Lance was thrilled to introduce THE NWA WORLD CHAMPION NICK BOCKWINKEL and his manager Bobby Heenan. Heenan said the champ is here to scout the area ahead of his title defense against Superstar Bill Dundee, and neither one of them like what they see. Challenger BILL DUNDEE entered the area and said he won't have to like it or deal with it for long after Superstar takes the title off of him and sends him packing back to Minnesota. BOB BACKLUND made his surprise appeareance and stood beside Dundee. He said he was in Tennessee to make sure Heenan doesn't rob Dundee like he did to Backlund and he'll be in the corner of the Superstar for the title match. In fact, Backlund continued, since they are all here they should have a tag team match tonight. Heenan objected and said Nick didn't even have a partner. That's when Jimmy Hart and Austin Idol showed up next to Nick and Bobby. Jimmy said he'd be happy to loan Idol out to Bobby for one night only so Austin can get some revenge on Dundee and help out a true champion in the process. Lance egged them on and said it looks like it's a done deal, the match WILL take place in tonight's main event. Ox Baker (w/Jimmy Hart) destroyed Guy White in three moves. The enforcer of the First Family wasted no time beating the journeyman. He slammed him hard to the mat and got the pin with a leg drop. Lance recapped the situation with Jerry Brisco and the team of Scott Taylor and Brian Christopher. Eddie Gilbert was highly amused at the beatdown the team gave Jerry, but Jackie Fargo came out and was not so amused. He said he's about to head to the ring and show Taylor a little "southern hospitality" like they showed Jerry and if Christopher wants to get involved he'll whip him too like his daddy should have. Scott Taylor (w/Brian Christopher) won by disqualification over Jackie Fargo.Fargo was beating Taylor all over the ring and took it to the floor. He pulled a heavy wrench from under the ring and started laying into Taylor. BC came over to help and got some fo the same. Taylor and Christopher headed for the back while Fargo got in the ring and challenged them to come back. Brad Armstrong came out to talk with Lance and Eddie Gilbert, but Eddie wouldn't stop making off handed insults about Brad and his family. Brad grabbed Eddie by the collar and was about to strike when Exotic Adrian Street attacked from behind and took it to the ring. Brad Armstrong defeated Exotic Adrian Street with a top rope bodypress.Very good match with Adrian controlling the opening minutes and Brad making short comebacks. Finally Brad got on an advantage with a big dropkick and went to the top for the bodypress and pin. Eddie Gilbert jumped in the ring after the bell, but Brad rolled out before Gilbert and Street could enact the double team beatdown. Street protested and Gilbert yelled at the referee while the fans cheered wildly for Armstrong. Superstar Bill Dundee and Bob Backlund defeated Nick Bockwinkel and Austin Idol (w/Bobby Heenan) when Backlund pinned Idol. Nice main event action. Dundee and Bockwinkel had a few nice exchanges, but Nick mainly avoided being in the ring with Backlund. Idol and Backlund paired up well, but Bob eventually used the ATOMIC DROP and went for the pin as Dundee kept Nick from breaking up the pin. Following the match Dundee and Backlund went over to talk to Lance. Dundee said Bockwinkel had better have that belt shined up real nice this weekend because he's going to kiss it goodbye and the NWA championship is coming home to Memphis and Superstar Bill Dundee.

World Championship Wrestlingw/Tony and David Our hosts did the show open and announced a special taped interview coming up later in the show with Bill Apter of PWI talking with Bobby Heenan, the manager of the NWA world champion. David had a laugh about the situation involving Bockwinkel and Backlund in Memphis this past week and they showed a little footage courtesy of the Continental Wrestling Association. And now, our exciting opening contest... Lenny Lane defeated George South with a Boston Crab....And took his sweet time doing it. South didn't really mount a lot of offense, but Lane would not (couldn't) put him away. David and Tony were joined by NWA world tag team champions The Moondogs along with their manager Rock Riddle. Riddle demanded to know who this AMAZING tag team David talked about last week is who think they are going to come into the Moondogs backyard and pee wherever they want. David laughed and said instead of telling him he'd show them, then cut to the video. Riddle was furious as Rex kicked over the commentary lecturn and Spot hit the backdrop with his bone. They were interrupted by Lenny Lane who said he wanted to talk to his former partner Riddle. Riddle yelled at him and said he was CLEARLY busy and told him to get lost. Lane dejectedly sulked away. Ragin Bull Manny Fernandez crushed Dale LapeyrouseManny just beat him up for a few minutes, then signaled for the FLYING BURRITO, but said the fasn didn't deserve to see it and instead slapped on a sleeper for the win. Manny Fernandez and JJ Dillon were interviewed after the bout. Manny said he ran Jimmy Valiant out of the area and maybe out of wrestling because nobody has seen that coward in weeks and there's nobody to get in his way to the top now. JJ said that's true and his OTHER men Masked Superstar and The Spoiler are headed that way too because they've got the Rock N Roll Express later tonight and they will their tag team superiority. Nikita Koloff defeated Ranger Ross with the RUSSIAN SICKLE.Ranger gave him some tense moments, but Nikita's power was too much to overcome. POst-match Uncle Ivan said Nikita showed the superior Russian way just now, but last week REDD DOGG did not! He said Dogg has one more chance tonight when he faces Magnum TA and if he can't get the job done then HE is the one who is done! Bill Apter interviewed Bobby Heenan in a taped segment from Memphis. Bill asked about the champ's troubles with Bob Backlund and Heenan said Backlund is too stupid to know he already got beat. But if he wants to keep sticking his nose in the champ's business then Heenan has a surprise for him: a man who will beat him so badly he won't be able to get involved anymore. Apter asked the obvious question "who?", and Heenan introduced Magnificent Don Muraco. Don came out and gave a verbal master class in the way he will defeat and humiliate Backlund without even breaking a sweat. Masked Superstar and The Spoiler beat the Rock N Roll Express when Superstar pinned Robert.Spoiler and Superstar were in charge early, but the hot tag to Robert turned things around. The action went back and forth for a while longer until Superstar hit the neckbreaker on Robert for the win. US champion Wildfire Tommy Rich came out to provide guest commentary for the featured match.Magnum TA pinned Redd Dogg with some help from Tommy Rich.Dogg jumped Magnum at the bell and was all over him. TA was in big trouble after a few near falls but came back and had things going his way. The action went to the floor where Dogg grabbed the Russian chain and hit Magnum in the jaw. He tossed TA back into the ring and covered, but Rich ran into the ring to pull him off and tell the referee what had happened. Magnum recovered and turned DOgg around for a BELLY TO BELLY and pin. Ivan and Nikita hit the ring and you know the rest. Pier six, seven, and eight brawl while David Crockett screamed like crazy.
.....Aaaaaand we are outta time!

That Big Memphis Evernt! hosted by Lance Russell w/Eddie Gilbert Lance welcomed the fans to the show and PG-13 entered the scene. Eddie said they're not booked, and JC said that's the problem: there aren't any tag teams in town good enough to challenge them. Matchmaker Eddie Marlin interrupted and told them he'd have a match for them next week, and they may not like it. Then came Fabulous Jackie Fargo who said he took Christopher and Taylor to the woodshed by himself last time, but this time he's got an extra special surprise for them tonight. NWA light heavyweight champion Jerry Brisco joined the scene and said tonight he gets his payback on those two and it'll be a night they never forget. Tracy Smothers pinned Lanny Poffo (w/Jimmy Hart)Smothers had things going his way when Jimmy jumped on his apron to interfere. Jimmy tried to hit Tracy with the cane, but Tracy moved and Lanny got hit instead. That set up the JAWJACKER and the win for Smothers. After a short recap of the interview Bobby Heenan did earlier this week where he announced he had brought in Magnificent Muraco to wrestle Backlund, Bob Backlund came out for pre-match comments. He was distracted by the bad mouthing of Eddie GIlbert when Don Muraco ran out and attacked from behind with a steel chair. Bob was laid out and it was determined he would be unable to compete. Muraco got in the ring and declared himself the winner by forfeit while the crowd went wild. Brad Armstrong defeated Doug Gilbert Gilbert had things going his way with a DDT and cover for a near fall. Then he used the piledriver and was so confident he had the match won that he just draped an arm casually over Brad and started to count along with the ref. He was shocked when Brad raised his shoulder right before the three. DOug headed to the top rope to finish it, but Brad moved out of the way and hit the RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP for the pin. After the bout Brad went towards the annoucers' area and told Eddie Gilbert he needs to not send his brother to do his dirty work or he can shut his mouth and leave. Jerry Brisco and Jackie Fargo defeated Brian Christopher and Scott Taylor.A fun tag team match that had Fargo and Brisco dominate early, only for Too Much to take over and slow them down. Lots of fighting out of the ring, but in the end Jerry got the FIGURE FOUR on BC to secure the win while Fargo ran interference to stop the save. "Main event time," Lance announced. Eddie Gilbert noted that the NWA had assigned special referee Dick Woehrle for this one as noted wrestling photographer Dr Mike Lano took his spot at ringside. Nick Bockwinkel defeated Superstar Dundee to defend the NWA world title. It seemed the Superstar had the deck stacked against him, but he still put up the good fight. There were a few close moments when Heenan almost jumped in the ring but Nick kicked out. The action went ringside where Bockwinkel they brawled by the photographer, whom got a great shot of the action! In the end Bock slapped on the sleeper. Woehrle checked the arm of the Superstar one time, it dropped, and he called the match in favor of the champ. Lance noted that the standard down here is to check the arm three times before calling a knockout, but the referee's decision is final no matter whether we like it or not. And we don't, but Nick Bockwinkel, by hook or by crook, is still the NWA world champion.

We interrupt our regular programming to present a special supercard from Los Angeles(AKA I finally got the latest expansion and decided I have enough cards to run a great card for my classics territory)
*summaries written in the style of those old newsreels, just for fun. So if you read them in that voice it's even better.
The Fabulous Kangaroos w/manager Wild Red Berry defeated Ilio DiPaolo and Billy Red Lyons. Exciting tag team action kicked off the festivities as the team from down under that everybody loves to hate tangled with the Italian powerhouse and his quick Canadian counterpart. Wild Red stuck his nose in and almost got it cut off for the trouble, which many people would think of as an improvement. In the end the nefarious tactics of the Roos won the day as Costello pinned Ilio after the AUSTRALIAN BACKDROP.
Pepper Gomez pinned Ray Stevens The rivals fought tooth and nail but this Pepper was too spicy for Ray in the end as Gomez used the MEXICAN CRADLE to secure the victory and leave crybaby Ray with a case of heartburn he'll never forget.
Don Leo Jonathan beat Dutch Savage via pinfall. No love lost here as these two beefy brawlers carry over their longstanding grudge from Portland and bring it to the bright lights and big city of Los Angeles. Dutch came on strong early but the spotlight was too much for him to handle and it was the Mormon Giant picking up the win over the camera shy combatant after a big giant swing.
Yukon Eric won by submission over Killer Kowalski in a no disqualification match. It's Katy bar the door as the disqualification rule was waived for these two. Killer brought a folding chair into the preceedings at one point and, rather than offer his rival a seat, chose to bash him over the head. The Alaskan managed to overcome that Excedrin headache and found a lead piper under the ring to give the Killer a little what for. The end came when Kowalski missed his Bombs Away off the top corner post and Eric snatched him up in the KODIAK CRUNCH for the win.
Gorgeous George defeated Antonino Rocca. The Toast Of The Coast had the advantage in the opening minutes of action, giving the star of the New York area a little of the glitz and glamor you can't get in the Big Apple. George's valet showed she's no shrinking violet as she got involved in the action as well. Rocca had finally had enough and came back hopping mad, sending George running for cover. Rocca showcased an aerial assault that would make the trapeze artists from Ringling Brothers blush. But George had one more dirty trick up his silk sleeve and used it to ground Rocca long enough to catch him in the SPINNING TOEHOLD for the win
Nature Boy Rogers defeated Jim Londos to win the Pacific Wrestling Championship. HISTROY HAS BEEN MADE as the long reigning Londos has been defeated for the crown. After the initial feeling out process things got serious as Rogers went for a hard punch that the champion blocked and sent the challenger reeling with a crotch lift and slam. After some more action Rogers seemed to be in trouble, but Londos' standing toehold wasn't enough to do the trick and the bout continued. Rogers fought his way back and used the infamous piledriver to set up his dreaded FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. Londos fought valiantly but could not escape and the referee had no choice but to call the match and award the victory to our new champiuon.
