World Championship Wrestling w/Jim Ross and Gordon Solie
JR and Gordon opened the show with big news of a NEW Unites States heavyweight champion and brought out the IRON SHEIK. Sheik said he brings honor to a title that doesn't deserve it as United States champ-ween. SGT SLAUGHTER came out to confront his nemesis once again and commissioner BILL WATTS entered the scene before any violence could commence. He said Sheik won the title under dubious circumstances but he's going to be a fighting champ whether he likes it or not and that begins tonight in the main event when he defends against Sgt Slaughter.
Mr Wonderful Paul Orndorff defeated Randy Mulkey. Mulkey made some feeble attempts at offense but Orndorff shook him off with ease and won with the PILEDRIVER.
After the match Paul spoke with Gordon SOlie. He said he heard what Brian Blair was saying last week and if Blair wants to sign his career away he can get in the ring with Mr Wonderful one more time and they can settle it once and for all.
Disco Inferno and Rock Riddle came to ringside for the next bout as Gordon and JR explained the events from this past weekend where Miss Jacqueline got physical with Disco after his match with Sam Houston.
Toni Rose defeated Jacqueline after distraction from Disco Inferno. Competitive match that saw Jackie take over late, only to be distracted by the antics of Disco on the ring apron. Rose got the opportunity to use a NECKBREAKER and score the pin.
Disco and Riddle celebrated their way back down the aisle after the match as Jackie vowed revenge.
Jack Brisco talked to Jim Ross and Gordon and introduced promising newcomer Mark Fleming. He said Fleming comes with the endorsement of none other than the all time great world champion Lou Thesz and he can make some waves with his mat based wrestling style. Fleming said he has his work cut out for him against this so-called Mummy character but he's going to show that hard work and discipline pays off. Brisco warned him what Sullivan and his men did to Big Van Vader and said Vader will be back to handle it soon enough, but in the meantime Fleming should be wary.
Kharis The Mummy (w/Kevin Sullivan) defeated Mark Fleming Fleming gave the Mummy some tense moments, but he could not overcome the underhanded tactics and SUllivan at ringside. the Mummy used his Magical Forearm smash for the pin.
OX BAKER and ERIC THE RED attacked Fleming after the bout as Sullivan directed. Jack Brisco got in the ring with a steel chair to chase them away. Sullivan went over to talk with JR and Gordon. He was interrupted by RODDY PIPER. Piper said last week Brisco challenged him to get into the ring to back up his talk, and everyone thought that meant he was going to wrestle Jack. But instead he's seen what Sullivan and his men are up to and he'd love nothing more than to step in the ring as Jack's tag team partner against these "schoolyard bullies" and see if they can win in a fair fight. Jack agreed and Sullivan said Piper just signed his death warrant.
Rowdy Roddy Piper and Jack Brisco beat Eric The Red and Ox Baker. Baker and Eric held their own early with the tag team experience and size advantage, but Piper and Jack were too much for them. Piper held Ox at bay as Jack pinned Eric with the ROLLING REVERSE in about eight minutes.
Nikita Koloff defeated Scott Riggs with the RUSSIAN SICKLE. Riggs was not a pushover here, keeping Nikita on his toes with the superior agility. Nikita finally caught him and grounded him en route to the pinfall victory in a little over four minutes.
World tag team champions Rick Rude and Manny Fernandez won by disqualification over Jimmy Valiant and Tommy Rich. The blood feud continues as nothing was settled here. The bout got out of hand as Jimmy chased Manny out of the ring. The two brawled and Jimmy grabbed Percy Pringle's cane to use as a weapon against Fernandez, drawing the disqualification.
Jimmy and Tommy spoke after the match. Jimmy said reports of the end of his wrestling career by Manny Fernandez are premature daddy, and he's going to chase Fernandez to the end of the earth to get his payback. Tommy told Gordon things didn't go his way against the Sheik but the US title will have to wait because it's time to settle debts with Rude and Fernandez first and with all due respect to the Rock N Roll Express those tag team title belts would definitely look good with the Boogie Woogie Man and Wildfire Tommy Rich.
Iron Sheik beat Sgt Slaughter to defend the United States title. Big time main event. In the end Sheik got a brief comeback on Sarge, loaded up that dreaded boot, and punted Sarge in the head to get the pin.

NWA Pro wrestling the Omni, Atlanta, GA
Thunderbolt Patterson defeated Wild Bill White. White more than held his own and nearly pulled the upset. Patterson had to dig deep and won with his second HEAD BUTT in about eight minutes.
Nikita Koloff beat Rocky Kernodle with help from Uncle Ivan. Nikita absolutely dominated the opening minutes of the match. Rocky fought back valiantly and went for a cross body off the top rope but the referee got in the way. With the referee down Ivan Koloff came in and hit Rocky with the steel chain. Rocky fell like a ton of bricks and Nikita made the cover right as the referee recovered.
Bob Backlund pinned Nord The Barbarian. A great match as Nord really took the fight to Backlund. Nord nearly got him after catching Bob coming off the top rope and planting him with a falling power slam, but Backlund kicked out just before the three count. Bob came back and hit a rolling reverse cradle for a two count before securing the pin with his ATOMIC DROP in roughly ten minutes.
Rock N Roll Express won by disqualification over Rick Rude and Manny Fernandez in a world tag team title match. We don't seem to be able to get a clear winner in tag matches involving Rude and Fernandez these days. The action was fast and furious, with Rick and Robert controlling the opening minutes until Rude and Manny took over. they fought back and forth for over ten minutes before the action went to the floor. All four men brawled until Rude hit Ricky with a steel chair to draw the disqualification.
After the match Rude and Fernandez tossed Ricky into the ring and used their double team DDT maneuver onto a steel chair to cause a minor injury that resulted in Ricky having to be helped to the back (feud table, one card injury).
Jack Brisco, Rowdy Roddy Piper, and Don Kernodle wrestled to a double disqualification with Ox Baker, Eric The Red, and One Man Gang (w/Kevin Sullivan) Fantastic main event with yet another indecisive finsh. Roddy and Ox started strong, then Jack got tagged into the match. Jack caused Ox to tag out on defense and Eric took some punishment. Kernodle made his way into the match and took a beating until making his comeback on One Man Gang. Ox broke up a pin and things got out of control as all six men began to brawl. The referee could not regain control and called it a double disqualification.
After the decision Jack grabbed the mic. He told Sullivan to bring any combination of his men back next time and his team will face them in a no disqualification match.

World Championship Wrestling w/Jim Ross and Gordon Solie
Jim and Gordon opened the show with the exciting announcement that the world heavyweight champion would be in action on today's show. Then Gordon brought out Thunderbolt Patterson. T-bolt said he came here some time ago saying he was looking for two things and those were green and gold. He stated that he's made plenty of green, but now he wants that title gold and tonight is the night because he's getting in the ring with that nasty Iron Sheik. Patterson proclaimed that he intends to walk into Marietta Georgia this weekend as the new United States champion and Gordon wished him good luck.
Bob Backlund beat Disco Inferno after Rock Riddle and Miss Jackie were thrown out of ringside by the referee. No nonsense Bob found himself in the middle of much nonsense. Riddle broke up an early pin attempt after a Backlund piledriver, then Jacqueline came down to ringside and broke a pin after Disco used the LAST DANCE on Bob. the referee had seen enough ejected Riddle and Jackie as the two almost got into a fight in the aisle. Bob ended up getting the pin after the ATOMIC DROP.
Bill Apter presented a special Hot Seat interview with Jimmy Valiant, Tommy Rich, and the Rock N Roll Express. They were basically a mutual admiration society and a foursome of Rude and Fernandez haters. Tommy said Rude and Manny keep escaping with the titles intact on disqualifications but their time is just about up. Ricky added that it doesn't matter which of the two teams finally beats Raging and Ravishing because job number one is getting those prestigious belts off of a pair of low lifes.
Ivan and Nikita Koloff beat Don and Rocky Kernodle when Nikita pinned Rocky. Really nice tag team match between rival teams. Rocky nearly had Ivan pinned after about five minutes when he hit a pair of CROSS BODY BLOCKS for two near falls, but the Koloffs got back into things after using the dreaded Russian chain at ringside. Nikita won with the SICKLE.
After the match Ivan, Nikita, and Iron Sheik talked to Jim Ross. Ivan said the Koloffs will wait for the simple Americans to beat each other up over the tag team titles then step in and pick apart whoever comes out on top to begin their reign of dominance. Iron Sheik concurred and said Bill Watts and the NWA are doing everything they can to make sure he does not keep their US title but it will never be enough because "I AM THE REAL!" Sheik promised to be champion until He decides he's had enough. Then he demanded "camerman ZOOM!" and flexed and posed to display his intimidating physique.
In Piper's Pit Roddy was joined by Kevin Sullivan. Piper said he knows they have some hard feelings right now, so he went and got his friend "Mr Slugger" to play bodyguard tonight and produced a Louisville Slugger baseball bat from behind his back. Sullivan said Roddy can't take a bat into the ring with him and physical skills aren't enough to defeat his Dungeon Of Doom, "just ask Big Van Vader". Roddy insisted he isn't as reckless as Vader and he won't walk into a gun fight carrying a toothpick. Things heated up and Sullivan called out Kharis The Mummy. Roddy didn't miss a beat, took off his t-shirt and kilt, and told Sullivan he's never backed down from a challenge and he sure isn't afraid of some big goof wrapped in Charmin. Roddy headed to the ring and Sullivan sent his man to follow.
Rowdy Roddy Piper won by disqualification over Kharis The Mummy. Mummy tried to use his bulk, but Roddy's superior speed kept the big man from gaining much of an advantage. the action spilled to the floor where Roddy asserted himself. Back in the ring Roddy locked in a figure four and the mummy was in trouble when Sullivan jumped into the ring with his dreaded golden spike. Roddy was too fast for him and rolled out of the ring before Sullivan could take his lethal shot. The spike went directly into the mat and stuck there as Roddy grabbed his bat and was ready to defend himself.
Gordon Solie interviewed Brian Blair ahead of the biggest match of his career to date as he's ready to step in with the world champion. Blair said he doesn't plan on letting this opportunity go to waste, but his mind is still on Paul Orndorff and settling things with him once and for all. Blair said he knows the deck is stacked against him tonight with Heenan at ringside, but he's as ready as he's ever been and Nick Bockwinkel had better be on his game.
However, as Blair headed to the ring he was attacked from behind by Paul Orndorff. Paul rammed Blair's head into the steel ringpost, splitting him open, then gave him a suplex on the floor for good measure before tossing him into the ring for Nick Bockwinkel to pick apart.
Nick Bockwinkel defeated Brian Blair in a non title match. After the beatdown by Orndorff Blair was ripe for the picking. Bockwinkel took him out with the BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER in under three minutes. After the decision Bob Backlund ran in with a towel to help Blair and wipe the blood off of his face.
Heenan was like a proud papa after the match, singing the praises of Nick Bockwinkel and giving credit to Paul Orndorff. He called Paul over and Nick shook Mr Wonderful's hand. Heenan said he may have a place in the Heenan managerial family for someone like Orndorff and promised he could take him to the top. Paul said he got to take out Brian Blair and he got to be in the presence of a real world champion and the greatest manager on the planet, which made his day. Paul concluded by saying anything he could do for Bobby would be a pleasure. Nick's face lit up as he looked at Backlund still helping Blair make it to the locker room. Nick said that there was one more thing, a "pest control job of sorts" they could talk about off camera that Mr Wonderful would be perfect for.
Iron Sheik beat Thunderbolt Patterson to defend the United States title. The reign that was not supposed to be continues as Sheik withstood a lot of punishment to once again load that dreaded boot and get the pin on Patterson after a sidewinder suplex in about ten minutes.

NWA Wrestling Cobb County Civic Center, Marietta, GA
Ox Baker defeated Sam Houston. Sam couldn't really get going in this match. He had his short bursts of attempted offense, but Ox shut him down quick and won by pinfall in roughly four minutes.
American Males defeated Dirty Frank Dalton and Johnny Mantell. The makeshift team of Dalton and Mantell gave Bagwell and Riggs a hard time here. It looked like an upset was imminent but the Males rallied and Bagwell got the pin after a cross bodyblock in about ten minutes.
Debbie Combs beat Beverly Shade with the INVERTED SURFBOARD. Combs picked up an impressive win. Shade could not mount much offense and Debbie picked up the win in three minutes and change.
Paul Orndorff came to the ring and grabbed the mic. He said Brian Blair was supposed to be here to face him tonight and take his beating, but instead he claims he's injured and can't make it. Orndorff doubted this claim and said Blair was just a coward (even though he was the one who injured Blair on the latest edition of WCW Saturday Night). Paul tossed the mic back to the ring announcer and told him to call out the replacement. The crowd erupted at the introduction of hometown favorite Brad Armstrong.
Mr Wonderful Paul Orndorff pinned Brad Armstrong. Brad took the fight right to Orndorff and the fight was fast and furious. Paul had to pull out all the stops to hit the PILEDRIVER for the win in nearly ten minutes.
Rock N Roll Express defeated Rick Rude and Manny Fernandez to win the world tag team championship. The RnR have fulfilled their destiny and finally came back to win the world tag team championship. After a fierce battle Robert made the tag out to Ricky and they hit Rude with the DOUBLE DROPKICK. Manny broke up the pin attempt but was caught by Robert and the two brawled out of the ring. Ricky went to the top rope and hit Rude with a flying bodyblock as he got to his feet. Percy jumped on the apron to try to distract the referee but was unsuccessful as Rude was pinned.

World Championship Wrestling w/Jim Ross and Gordon Solie
JR and Gordon opened the show by welcoming the NEW world tag team champions The Rock N Roll Express. Before they could get much done they were cut off by Manny Fernandez and Percy Pringle. Percy said Ricky and Robert should be ashamed of themselves for what they did to Rick Rude in the match, because he suffered an injured hand and can't be here tonight. Manny said he'll do the fighting for both of them and told RnR he didn't care which one gets in the ring, he wants his payback right now. Robert stepped up to the challenge and we start the show with action!
Robert Gibson won by disqualification over Manny Fernandez. Because of course he did. They went back and forth until Robert tagged Manny with an enzuigiri and covered. Percy came in to break it up and got chased away by Ricky. Pringle ana Manny vowed that they would get even.
Disco Inferno and Rock Riddle came out to talk to Gordon and JR. Rock said women belong in the kitchen and not the wrestling ring. Disco told them that if Jacqueline wants to act like a man he will treat her like one so she'd better stay from the wrestling ring.
Eric The Red and Ox Baker beat The Mulkey Brothers. Randy Mulkey actually managed to get a few moves on offense against Ox! But that's about it as Eric got the win with his BACKBREAKER.
Kevin Sullivan talked to Jim Ross and Gordon. He said Piper got lucky once but his luck runs out this week when he faces the One Man Gang. He promised that Eric The Red and Ox are ready for a tag team title shot and with Vader out of the way any of his men could be the next world champion .
Nikita Koloff pinned Don Kernodle despite being dominated the entire match. Nikita rushed Don at the bell, but Don ducked an elbow and took over. He beat the Russian all over the ring and ringside area until he missed a charge into the corner that allowed Nikita to get the flash pin.
Bob Backlund talked to Gordon next. He said what happened to Brian Blair last week was a travesty of unsportsmanlike conduct and he intends to teach Paul Orndorff a lesson in the main event tonight. He said he still considers himself the top contender to Nick Bockwinkel and the NWA title and wants to prove it again.
Rowdy Roddy Piper defeated One Man Gang. Roddy was all over Gang from the bell in typical Hot Rod fashion. Sullivan got on the apron to distract the ref, but Roddy took the opportunity to low blow Gang and get the pin.
After the match Eric The Red and Ox Baker attacked Roddy as Sullivan directed. Things looked bad for Rod until VADER rushed the ring and dispatched the Dungeon Of Doom, leaving Sullivan in the ring alone. Sullivan produced the golden spike from inside his robe and Vader froze. The Gamemaster muttered an incantation in an arcane language and Vader backed off slowly and left the ring. Roddy followed after Vader and tried to get through to him.
After the break US champion Iron Sheik talked to Jeem Ross. He said he is the real, the only United States champween and there is nobody who can come close to beating him.
Mr Wonderful Paul Orndorff beat Bob Backlund with help from Bobby Heenan. Great match with Orndorff going for the pile driver two times before finally hitting. Backlund got his foot on the bottom rope but Bobby Heenan knocked it away before the referee could see it and Bob was pinned.

NWA pro wrestling Roanoke Civic Center, Roanoke, VA
Mark Fleming defeated Mr X. Fleming was never really in any major trouble in this match, but he sure took his time getting the win. Mr X got some offense, but nothing major. Fleming just could not get the man in a pinning position until he went to the top rope and hit an uncharacteristic cross body for the pin.
Johnny Mantell pinned Brad Armstrong. A battle of evenly matched combatants trying to inch their way back into television time after being off the main show for quite some time. In the end Mantell hit a picture perfect butterfly suplex and got the pin in about eight minutes.
American Males defeated Don and Rocky Kernodle when Bagwell pinned Rocky. Hot tag team action between a pair of popular teams in need of a win to climb the ladder of contention. Both had chances to secure the victory, but in the end Bagwell got the pin after a double dropkick.
Jacqueline beat Toni Rose with a TORNADO DDT. Jackie was all over Rose from the opening bell and avenged her previous loss in impressive fashion.
After the match there was yet another altercation as Jackie was heading back down the aisle as Disco Inferno and Rock Riddle headed to the ring for their match. JAckie slapped Rock. Disco grabbed her by the hair and was about to smack her when Sam Houston came out for the save and threw Disco into the ring to begin the match.
Disco Inferno defeated Sam Houston after timely interference from Rock Riddle. Very good back and forth match. Sam scored with the BULLDOG after about ten minutes and went for the cover near the ropes. Rock reached in and raked his eyes, allowing Disco to recover and use the LAST DANCE for the pin.
During intermission Sgt Slaughter was announced as in the building. He took the microphone and said he's not done yet, and he's refocused on defending the USA against the slimey foreign enemies like Iron Sheik, The Koloffs, and anyone else who comes here and talks down about the greatest nation. Sarge then went over to the merch table and signed autographs and did photo ops.
Jack Brisco pinned Nord The Barbarian. Nord really beat up Jack early and hit three big boots in a row to knock him silly. Jack persevered and came back to hit some nice suplexes and wear down the leg before going for the FIGURE FOUR. Nord reached the ropes to break, but Jack followed up with the ROLLING REVERSE for the pin.
Ivan and Nikita Koloff beat Tommy Rich and Jimmy Valiant. Thrilling action from bell to bell, but the fans were not happy with this result. Jimmy and Tommy seemed poised for the win when Tommy locked in the SLEEPER on Nikita, but Ivan made the save. The battle raged on in and out of the ring until Ivan set up Tommy for an elevated RUSSIAN SICKLE by Nikita for the pin.
After the match Ivan and Nikita went to finish off Valiant and Rich with the Russian chain, but Sgt Slaughter raced to the ring with a combat helmet in hand and bashed them both in the head with it to send them fleeing the ring. Sarge led the crowd in a "USA" chant to send them home happy.

World Championship Wrestling hosted by Jim Ross and Gordon Solie
Jim and Gordon opened the show and were joined by Bob Backlund and Brian Blair. Blair said what happened to him here two weeks ago was bad enough, but what Heenan and Orndorff did to Bob last week can't be allowed to stand or this new "Heenan Family" will run roughshod over all of pro wrestling. Bob said they're teaming up this week to take on the world champion Bockwinkel and his new lackey Orndorff and they intend to put a stop to it before it can get started.
Gordon said "fair enough" and introduced the first match featuring newcomer all American out of Syracuse Mike Rotundo and and the returning John Mantell.
Mike Rotundo defeated Johnny Mantell after the AIRPLANE SPIN. Really solid opening match. Rotundo was trying for the debut win and Mantell was attempting to re-establish himself after a long absence. In the end Mike was successful in about eight minutes with his signature move.
Bobby Heenan led champion Nick Bockwinkel and Paul Orndorff over to talk to Jim and Gordon. He said Blair and Backlund don't know the trouble they are in because they are too stupid to sense danger. Nick said Orndorff was welcome addition to the Heenan Family and the only worthy man in the area to stand beside the world champion. Orndorff finished off by saying he is like a German Shepherd guard dog and anyone who steps into the Heenan Families yard in the wrestling ring is going to get torn apart, especially Blair and Backlund.
Iron Sheik beat Don Kernodle to defend the US title. Kernodle gave Sheik all he could handle early, but that dreaded loaded boot took its toll once again as Sheik used it to wear down Don and get the pin.
Following the match Sheik locked in the CAMEL CLUTCH until Sgt Slaughter ran in and took a swipe at him with the combat helmet to break it up. Sarge tried to help Don to his feet, but the frustration is clearly mounting for Kernodle, who waved him away and got up on his own, walking away dejected once again.
Sarge went over and spoke with Jim and Gordon after the altercation. He led the fans in "Sheik is a geek" chants and said he's stepping into the ring with Ivan Koloff tonight and after that he wants Iron Sheik in a boot camp match so he can take the US title for the greatest fans in the greatest nation.
Rock N Roll Express beat the American Males to defend the world tag team titles after the DOUBLE DROPKICK on Riggs. Fantastic tag team match that nearly saw new champs on the RnR first defense. Bagwell and Riggs finally decided to start bending the rules after about ten minutes of back and forth action by taking it to the floor and nearly got the pin on Ricky after their weaker version of the DOUBLE DROPKICK. Ricky got the hot tag and minutes later the Express hit the real deal to score the victory.
Piper's Pit saw Roddy joined by Jack Brisco as they talked about the Dungeon Of Doom and called out Vader. Jack told Vader he's the most intimidating man Jack has ever been in the ring with, but Sullivan seems like he's gotten into Vader's head and he needs to face it head on before it takes him down. Vader insisted he fears no man and feel no pain, but Kevin Sullivan arrived on the scene and said Vader knows what's going on in his head and so does the Gamemaster because Sullivan is the one that put it there. He challenged Vader to come to the ring next week and face Kharis The Mummy so Sullivan can show the true power of the Dungeon Of Doom. Roddy spoke up and accepted on Vader's behalf, which didn't seem to sit well with the Mastodon.
Sgt Slaughter beat Ivan Koloff with the COBRA CLUTCH. Great match. Sarge locked in the Clutch, but US champ Iron Sheik ran out to try to break it up. Sarge knocked him off the apron, grabbed the war helmet, and cracked Sheik with it before getting back in and going back to the COBRA CLUTCH for the win.
Jacqueline came out to talk about Disco Inferno and Rock Riddle. She told Jim Ross that they think they are the top dogs, but they're really just like a couple of little puppies: all bark and no bite. She promised she will show she can do whatever a man can do in the ring and if either one wants to step in and have a match with her they are more than welcome.
Bob Backlund and Brian Blair won by disqualification over Nick Bockwinkel and Paul Orndorff (w/Bobby Heenan) Worthy main event. The action went to the floor with Blair brawling with Orndorff. Bob and Nick went over and got involved and a brawl ensued all over the ringside area. Bobby finally jumped on Backlund's back as he took the fight to Nick, causing the DQ.
The show went off the air as Blair grabbed two chairs, tossed one to Backlund, and they jumped in the ring to hold off the Heenan Family and send them scurrying like weasals.
