I like the James Storm-Scott Casey team. I was thinking about teaming Casey and Johnny Mantell as a lower card team. Casey and Mantell would be a pretty good team. Upset potential if they get on a roll.

Casey is surprisingly good. Stan Hansen lost back to back matches against him.

Once again, it's time for the Mothership. with your hosts Tony Schiavone and David "Look at 'im" Crockett Tony and David did the show open and announced that, due to what happened at the end of last week's show, Jim Cornette has challenged Jimmy Valiant and Manny Fernandez to face the Midnight Express and that bout would take place later in the show. They were then joined by HARLEY RACE, who would be providing guest commentary on the opening match. - Jack Brisco defeated Sodbuster Kenny Jay in under a minute.Race didn't have a whole lot of time to commentate because Jack wasted no time putting Jay away with the figure four. Following the match Race and Brisco got in each other's face again and words were exchanged. Things were getting heated when STEVE REGAL showed up at the commentary area and said Brisco better back down because Race would handle him as easy as Regal would handle Jerry Brisco....IF Jerry was worthy of a title match....which he is not. BUT, Regal is getting ready to defend against "yet another worthy challenger" so Jack can stand by and take notes on what a real champion looks like. Jack, not known for his patience and even temper, slapped Regal hard across the face as Race watched and laughed. Jack wasn't pleased with that either and started to brawl with Race. Security ran in and broke them up before escorting both men out of the building. - Mr Electricity Steve Regal defeated Nacho Barrerra to defend the light heavyweight championship."Look at 'im," yelled David Crockett on commentary, "that's the same guy Regal beat last week, just without the mask. Who is he fooling?" He was indeed fooling no one, but Regal got the win nonetheless in short order with his Ft Lauderdale Leglock. Regal refused to break the hold, prompting JERRY BRISCO to come out and jump Regal. Jerry's scheduled opponent DISCO INFERNO ran out and in turn jumped Jerry. AND, since both the combatants for the next match were conveniently in the ring, we start the match. - Disco Inferno (w/Steve Regal) defeated Jerry Brisco after a piledriver and help from Regal.Okay, so that happened. Jerry had DI in the figure four when Regal reached in and raked Jerry's eyes to break the hold. Disco took over but couldn't put Jerry away. Brisco fought back and threw Disco into the turnbuckle, but Disco moved and Jerry hit the steel post, falling out of the ring. Regal got a couple shots in and tossed the opponent back in to Disco, who hit a piledriver and the shocking pin (roll of a three, needed a four). JJ DILLON joined Tony and David to speak on the topics of concerns in his world. First, he declared victory and commended Abdullah The Butcher on a mission accomplished in ridding the territory of Bruiser Brody, who he has learned has left the area. David said Abdullah lost the match and it was Snuka who put Brody out. JJ insisted it was all part of the master plan, but now they have an "unleashed Jimmy Snuka" on their hands to deal with. So JJ used his "considerable connections in the wrestling world" and brought in an old friend and partner THE SPOILER, to watch his back. Together with the Masked Superstar they will get rid of Superfly Snuka and go on to win any gold they set their sights on. Finally, JJ warned that if worse comes to worst Snuka had better remember that JJ is no pushover in the ring himself.
- The Spoiler (w/JJ Dillon) defeated Ric McCord via countout.McCord made an early effort, but it was short lived. Spoiler seemed to be toying with him , hitting all of his big moves before going for his impressive "rope walk smash". He then tossed McCord out of the ring and distracted the referee for JJ DIllon to reach in his pocket, pull out a roll of quarters, and give Ric a knockout punch to draw the countout. An interview with NWA champion MACHO MAN RANDY SAVAGE was next. Tony was talking to the champ about Vader when BARRY WINDHAM came out to confront him. Barry said Vader has been making a lot of noise and seems to have jumped in line for a title match, but you can count the number of times Barry Windham has lost here on one finger, and he and Savage have unfinished business. Randy wasn't afraid to jump right to the point and replied "then let's finish it. NEXT WEEK! RIGHT HERE! YOU AND ME! We do the thing in the ring with this (flashing the title belt in Barry's direction) on the line." Barry stepped away smiling, pointing at the belt in Randy's hands and then motioning around his own waist in the classic old school wrestling standard "I want the belt" gesture.
- Jimmy Valiant and Manny Fernandez defeated The Midnight Express (w/Jim Cornette) when Manny pinned Dennis.
Yes, that also happened. Great match, Manny and Jimmy working well together when Manny went for a cover on Dennis following the Burrito. COrnette jumped on the apron to distract the referee and tossed the tennis racquet into the ring for Dennis to catch. Unfortunately for him Jimmy Valiant reached from behind and caught it instead. While Manny punched JC to knock him off the apron and gave Bobby one for good measure, Valiant swatted Dennis over the head with the loaded piece of sport's equiptment. The ref turned around, Manny went for the cover, and it was all over from there.
- Big Van Vader defeated Hacksaw Duggan after two power bombs and a moonsault.
Hacksaw refused to go down without a fight. He rocked Vader with some big mvoes and took him off his feet with a clothesline, but could not get the pin. Vader hit the power bomb, but Duggan kicked out. A second power bomb would not get the three either. Finally Vader went to the ropes for the Vader Bomb, thought about it, then went all the way to the top and hit a frightening moonsault for the convincing pin.
As the referee helped Hacksaw roll out of the ring Vader stood center ring and bellowed for Randy Savage. Randy burst through the curtain, but was instantly swarmed by referees, company officials, and security to keep him away from the ring. The show ended with Vader taunting from the ring while Savage tried to push away from the throng around him.

NWA Worldwide With Gordon Solie and Bob Caudle
Action packed episode this week, with the hosts pleased to announce the next upcoming supercard, International Incident. Wrestlers from affiliate promotions all over the world will be coming to compete, including Konnan from Mexico and Tiger Mask from Japan. Matches already signed include: - Harley Race vs Jack Brisco - The Road Warriors vs The Bolsheviks for the world tag team championship - Tiger Mask vs Johnny Saint And negotiations are underway between Randy Savage and Big Van Vader through his representative Jim Cornette. Of course, a lot rides on the upcoming world title match between Savage and Barry Windham on this Saturday's edition of NWA Championship Wrestling.
- Bob Roop defeated Tiger Conway Jr via pinfall after a shoulder breaker. Great action from the often overlooked St Louis territory. to open the show. Roop methodically worked over the arm and shoulder and Conway tried to keep away with dropkicks and flying head scissors. Finally Roop wore the man down enough to utilize the shoulder breaker for the pin.
- The Heavenly Bodies beat Sam Houston and Ric McCord when Lane pinned Sam after the Flapjack. This was a confidence boosting win for Lane and Prichard, who looked impressive in the lopsided victory.
- Ox Baker pinned Pampero Firpo after the heart punch. Firpo controlled the pace for most of the match, but Ox only needed to hit the dreaded Heart Punch to keep Firpo down and score the win in this match out of California.
- The Pitbulls defeated Meanie and Nova with the super bomb on Meanie. The Philadelphia based promotion was well represented this night. Meanie and Nova made it a match, but the Pitbulls were just too tough and dominating en route to yet another win.
- Jim Brunzell pinned Larry Zbyszko with a flying leg scissors into a pinning combination. A hot match out of the Minnesota territory with plenty of back and forth action. Brunzell overcame the stalling and dirty tactics of the self proclaimed Living Legend and got the clean win.
Gordon Solie and Bob Caudle were joined by Jim Cornette and Mr Hughes. Cornette was red faced and angry about the "miscarriage of justice last Saturday night" when the referee failed to see Valiant hit his man with a foreign object (the tennis racquet JC himself tossed into the ring) leading to a tainted win for Valiant and Fernandez. He promised to end them before they can get started because this Saturday he's unleashing Mr Hughes on Manny Fernandez with orders to maim and injure at all costs.
- Scott "Hog" Irwin defeated James Storm after the superplex. Irwin jump started the match with an attack as ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta gave the introductions. Storm tried to fight back, but Irwin cut him off and ended it with the superplex. Following the match Storm spit beer in Irwin's eyes and blasted him with Last Call to gain some measure of revenge.
- Shane Douglas used the Pittsburgh Plunge to defeat The Sandman. Wild action from Philly between these heated rivals served as a worthy main event. In the end Douglas won the battle but the war is surely far from over.
After the match Douglas grabbed the mic and in a characteristically profanity laced tirade said he didn't care who ended up with the NWA title. Whether it's Savage, Windham, or Vader he may just show up, take it from them, and throw the belt in the trash where it belongs.

NWA World Championship Wrestling With Tony Schiavone and David Crockett
After a quick introduction, it's right to the ring for a jam packed episode.
Sam Houston pinned George South after a bulldog. South made it a match, but Houston wore him down and got the pin.
Rock N Roll Express beat Golden Terror and Nacho after a Ricky cross body on Terror. Easy win, Nacho never tagged in.
Afterwards Tony conducted an interview with the Rock N Rolls. Ricky said they're on hard times lately and hard time breed hard men. Robert agreed and they were cut off by the Heavenly Bodies before any more cliches could be uttered. Dr Tom said there's no two harder men than Tom Prichard and Stan Lane and they need to finally overcome that hump of beating Ricky and Robert so they can ascend to the top of the tag team division. They've done this dance before, so this time the challenge is for two out of three falls next week . And of course the RnR aren't gonna let that go unaccepted, so book it!
Manny Fernandez won by disqualification over Mr Hughes. Hughes dominated early with a series of head butts. He tried a dropkick which Manny avoided. Fernandez mounted a comeback but Hughes shut it down. Fernandez rolled out of the ring and Hughes followed. Hughes grabbed a steel chair and hit Manny over the head to prompt the disqualification.
Hughes kept up the beating after the bell and Manny was bleeding from the forehead when Jimmy Valiant came out for the save. Jimmy peppered Hughes with punches until the Midnight Express raced out and attacked Jimmy. They tossed Valiant into the ring and used the Rocket Launcher, leaving their rivals laid out.
Brisco brothers joined Tony and David for a pre-match interview. Jack said he is furious over what happened last week after he got tossed out of the building for fighting with Harley. He has a match coming up with Race at International Incident and they'll settle things there, but first it's time to teach Regal and Disco a lesson.
Jack and Jerry Brisco beat Electric Boogie when Jerry pinned Regal with the Oklahoma Side Roll. Yes, Regal and Disco now want to be known collectively as Electric Boogie, because... Some say it's mystic It's electric Boogie woogie, woogie You can't resist it It's electric . that said, the Brisco brothers mostly dominated with a few flurries by Regal and Disco. In the end Jerry took control of Regal, Regal rolled out of the ring, but Jack tossed him right back in to get caught in Jerry's side roll pin.
Ivan Koloff entered the announcer's area and said Nikolai Volkoff was scheduled to face Magnum TA tonight, but Nik pulled a muscle training for the tag team title match against the Road Warriors. He said he has brought a suitable replacement but he's not sure Magnum will accept the challenge on such short notice since Americans are known for their weak will. Magnum came out and said he's a free man and bends to nobody and he runs from no challenge, so it doesn't matter who it is and at International Incident he will do to Ivan Koloff what he's about to do to his "suitable replacement". Magnum was jumped from behind by debuting Alexis Smirnoff , who tossed him into the ring to start the match.
Magnum TA beat Alexis Smirnoff to defend the US title. Smirnoff did not make it easy and had Magnum in trouble after a delayed pump action suplex. TA fought back and hit two belly to belly suplexes in a row, pinning Alexis while staring down Ivan as Koloff watched from the announcer's station.
Spoiler (w/JJ Dillon) defeated John Mantell via Bionic Claw. Spoiler attacked at the bell, but Mantell reversed and got a near fall with the Texas Tumbleweed. He hit a Russian Leg Sweep and JJ jumped on the apron to distract the ref from counting the pin. Mantell kept on the offense until a throw into the turnbuckles backfired and Spoiler took over. Spoiler used the rope walk smash to set up the Bionic Claw for the victory.
Following the bout, once again the wild man Jimmy Snuka raced out, this time with a baseball bat in hand, and chased JJ and his protege away.
Macho Man Randy Savage pinned Barry Windham to defend the world championship. Barry started strong but Macho made his comeback and got a quick near fall after a neckbreaker clothesline. Windham fought back from the brink and went for a top rope bodypress but Savage moved and Windham collided with the referee. Savage was quick to recover and hit the flying elbow with no one to count the pin. Savage tossed Barry out of the ring and tried to pull the ref to his feet. That gave Barry time to recover and blindside Savage when he left the ring to try to bring Barry back in. Windham hit a lariat for a near fall and then a superplex for another. Frustrated, he threw Randy out of the ring but this time it was Savage who gained the advantage, slamming Windham on the concrete. Savage hit the flying axe handle from the top rope to the floor, tossed Windham back inside, and hit a second flying elbow for the pin.

Welcome to NWA Worldwide With Gordon Solie and Bob Caudle
Superfly beat Mr X in record time. Snuka rushed the ring, body slammed Mr X, then used the Superfly Splash for the win.
After the bell Snuka chased the ring announcer and referee away before hitting X with another Splash. Snuka looked to do it again when Lou Albano made a surprise appearance and jumped in the ring. He talked Snuka off the turnbuckles and after a few words by the Captain Snuka hesitantly left the ring with Albano.
Juventud Guerrerra pinned Super Crazy with a 450 splash. Great, fast paced action. Crazy got a near fall with a Crazy Bomb, but Juvi fought back and used a Juvi Driver to set up the 450 for the win.
After the match Gordon and Bob talked up the exciting international action we'll be seeing in a few short weeks as part of the NWA International Incident. The main event is set and Savage will defend the world title against Big Van Vader. Jim Cornette interrupted as he likes to do and said Savage's luck is about to run out because Vader won't blow it like Windham did last week and once the Mastadon is world champion there will be no man on planet Earth who will be able to end his reign.
Tiger Conway Sr and Tiger Conway Jr beat Bob Roop and The Grappler when Jr pinned Grappler after the flying head butt. Good match with Conway Jr getting some revenge over Roop from last week's match.
Jerry Lynn beat 2 Cold Scorpio with a guillotine leg drop. Scorpio took a hard fall on the arena floor and couldn't recover as Lynn used a sunset flip bomb to set up the winning move.
Road Warriors beat The Vachons to defend the world tag team championships. Hawk pinned Butcher after the Doomsday Device in a hard fought title match.
The Road Warriors and Ellering joined Bob Caudle after the match. Ellering started off talking about the virtues of capitalism over communism and why the Soviet Union was fated to fall, then Hawk made his usual twisted and nihilistic threats against the bodily well being of the Russians, and Animal finished it off by just stating they'll kick the Bolsheviks teeth down their throats, ship them back to Russia, and leave the building still the world tag team champions after International Incident.

NWA Championship Wrestling Saturday night the mothership the big show not that big show you know The show opened with newcomer Tully Blanchard standing in front of the ring in an empty arena. Tully introduced himself and said he showed up early before the fans could arrive so he could make a statement without interruption. He has come to the territory to establish dominance and earn enough money to enjoy the finer things in life, like he's done everywhere he has been. He vowed that no matter if it's in singles or tag team action, he will hold title gold and it's just a matter of time and opportunity. Harley Race defeated Ric McCord with a vertical suplex.McCord stunned Race early with a pair of dropkicks for a near fall and then locked in a figure four that made Harley reach for the ropes and bail out of the ring to regain his composure. Race rolled back into the ring and McCord hit a cross body for another near fall. Jack Brisco entered the scene to watch from ringside as Race struggled with the game underdog. After over seven minutes of back and forth action and surprisingly good match Race managed to get the pin with a vertical suplex. He tried to go for the piledriver after the bell but Brisco entered the ring and chased Race away. Captain Lou Albano entered the commentary area and spoke with Tony Schiavone and David Crockett. Tony asked him to explain himself and what he did on Worldwide this past week. Albano said he got word that his longtime friend and associate Jimmy Snuka was having problems and he is here to be the guiding light that leads him back to the straight and narrow. David asked what makes him so trustworthy given his reputation that proceeds him and Albano insisted he's a new man and just wants what is best for the Superfly. JJ Dillon and Masked Superstar entered the scene and JJ said what is best is if Albano would take his slovenly self back to New York and take Snuka with him. Albano declined that offer but did counter with an offer of his own for Superstar to come face Snuka one on one next week. Superstar accepted and headed to the ring for his match. Masked Superstar won by countout over Scott Casey after interference by JJ Dillon. As we saw a few weeks ago with JJ and Spoiler, the match ended when Superstar threw his opponent out of the ring and distracted the referee. JJ reached into his pocket, pulled out a roll of quarters, and hit Casey square in the jaw. Casey was out and the referee turned and counted him out to award Superstar the victory. * Electric Boogie (Disco and Regal) entered the scene and did their ususal spiel. Disco said Regal was getting ready to face "yet another worthy challenger of their choosing" and was getting ready to introduce the hand picked opponent when BILL WATTS showed up and introduced himself as the new man in charge there. He said Regal WOULD face a challenger of Watts' choosing tonight in Sam Houston and, if he gets through that, he will face the winner of next week's light heavyweight gauntlet match at International Incident. Steve Regal defeated Sam Houston to defend the light heavyweight championship.Same came ready and determined to win. He hit a bulldog and nearly got the pin, but Regal saved himself with a foot on the ropes. After a drawn out, back and forth match Regal finally established dominance and secured the win with his Fort Lauderdale Leglock.
Loverboy Dennis Condrey (w/Cornette and Mr Hughes) pinned Jimmy Valiant after a face first leg sweep.Valiant was out for revenge, but Condrey had Hughes and Cornette on his side and that was the deciding factor. Hughes tripped Valiant as he was running the ropes and the Boogie Man stumbled forward into a kick and the face first leg sweep by Dennis to give Cornette's man the win. Barry Windham spoke with Tony and David about his match last week with Randy Savage. He said there are no excuses, he fell short this time and Savage was the better man on that night and that night only. The Long Riders came out and cut him off. Wild Bill said there's no time to be humble and gracious when there are teeth to be kicked in and Windham would have maybe stood a chance if he had allowed them to come to ringside. Barry said he needed to prove to himself that he could win on his own. Scott Irwin said he proved the opposite. That angered Barry, who punched Scott square in the face. The Irwin brothers jumped on Barry and put the boots to him until Blackjack Mulligan rushed out with steel chair in hand to chase them away. Mulligan reached out to Barry to help him to his feet, but Barry knocked Blackjack's hand away and walked off on his own. The Rock N Roll Express beat The Heavenly Bodies in a 2 out of 3 falls match1. Robert pinned Dr Tom after the double dropkick2. Ricky pinned Stan after a huracanranaWell, that didn't go as planned for the Bodies. It was yet another good match and yet another losing effort for Dr Tom and Sweet Stan. After the bout the duo argued over which one was responsible for the win, each pointing out that the other had been pinned. Finally they both threw up their hands and said "I quit" in unison and walked away from opposite sides of the ring. *The Superstar match was a countout based on a roll of the out of the ring chart, so I did the same finish I imagined for the Spoiler match before. Happy coincidence and now I have a kind of added lair of character established where Dillon will get physically involved in his wrestlers' matches at any opportunity.

Mothership with Tony Schiavone and David Crockett Tony and David hyped the main event of International Incident between Vader and Savage for the world title, then introduced Jack Brisco, whom Tony said was no stranger to the world title himself. Jack said he'd love to get back into title contention, be it the world title held by Savage or with his brother Jerry for the world tag team championship, but his next order of business is Harley Race. He said Race loves to bully and intimidate but that won't work against Jack Brisco and no matter what happens at International Incident he's going to show Harley that the Briscos know every trick in the book and a few that got left out of the final draft. The Cowboys, James Storm and Scott Casey defeated The Long Riders when Casey pinned Scott Irwin. The Cowboys finally got a win on the board against the Long Riders in a good opening bout. Casey used the bulldog and covered Scott. Wild Bill tries to get into the ring to interfere, but BARRY WINDHAM ran out and tripped BIll's leg as he went through the ropes. Following the match Windham headed back towards the entrance, turned and made an impolite hand gesture to the Irwins, and walked away. David Crockett brought out MANNY FERNANDEZ and JIMMY VALIANT to talk about their troubles with Jim Cornette's Midnight Express. Manny said the main problem is with the unfair advantage of Mr Hughes making the odds three-on-two any time they meet Cornette's men. Jimmy sang a few lines of "You Don't Mess Around With Jim" by Jim Croce and said they had a surprise coming for Mr Hughes the next time they meet him and "Corny". He said it will be a meet and greet and a meet and beat and then Manny and Jimmy will go out to eat on the street, daddy. Lightheavyweight champion Mr Electricity Steve Regal and his style consultant Disco Inferno came out to provide guest commentary for the gauntlet match. Lightheavyweight Gauntlet Match for a title shot at International Incident ***1. Juventud Guerrera pinned Jerry Lynn with a 450 splashA hotly contested first fall saw Juvi survive the cradle piledriver and hit the Juvi Driver to set up a 450 to get the pin. 2. Tiger Conway (Sr) pinned Juvi after a missed turnbuckle charge.Juvi entered the fall with two fatigue tokens and it played an immediate part in the match. Juvi charged Conway in the corner right away, Conway moved and rolled up Juvi for the pin in a matter of second. 3. Jerry Brisco beat Tiger Conway via figure four.Brisco wasted no time going for the figure four to secure the victory in the fall. 4. Jerry Brisco pinned Johnny Mantell via Oklahoma Side Roll.
Mantell pulled out all the stops, including taking it to the floor, but Brisco fought fire with fire. He slammed Mantell on the floor, tossed him back into the ring and used the Side Roll for the pin. 5. Brian Christopher pinned Jerry Brisco after the top rope leg drop
Okay, Brisco gets stalled again. Christopher (in the orange and black tights, not 2 Cool) made his exciting debut strutting and dancing his way down to the ring and fans didn't know what to think. A great fall ensued, with Christopher getting the shocking pin after about six minutes. 6. Brian Christopher pinned Johnny Saint with the top rope leg (Hip Hop Drop) for the win.
Veteran and perennial contender Johnny Saint was the favorite coming in at the final slot, but Christopher's luck held out again. BC's power advantage came into play and he got the win in a very close back and forth fall. Following the bell Steve Regal got in the ring with the title in hand to have words with the newly determined challenger. Regal extended his hand to shake. BC looked like he was going to shake the champ's hand, but pulled back and danced instead. Regal charged him and BC back dropped Regal over the top rope. Disco angrily yelled "dancing is my gimmick" and slid in under the bottom rope, but got a boot to the midsection and a full nelson face buster for his effort. Tony and David were joined by the Russians, Ivan Koloff, Alexis Smirnoff, Nikolai Volkoff, and Boris Zhuchov. Ivan said the time is drawing near for the Russians to take all the gold in the NWA, starting with the US title and tag team titles at International Incident. Koloff said Magnum TA was lucky to escape with his title in their first encounter thanks to a bias American referee but his luck soon runs out. MAGNUM TA came out to dispute this claim and said he doesn't care if there are four or forty four Russians out there, they will do nothing but lose and learn to accept it. Magnum said just like his country's colors he doesn't run or burn. Ivan challenged him to up the stakes at International Incident then and face him in a Russian Chain match where he can't run even if he wants to. Magnum said it would be a pleasure to defeat the Ruskie at his own match. Smirnoff lunged to attack Magnum, but Koloff stopped him and said they save it for next week. Superfly Snuka won by disqualification over Masked Superstar. The match broke down pretty quickly. They brawled back and forth until Snuka gained the advantage and planted Superstar with a backbreaker. Snuka started to go to the top rope, but Superstar bailed out of the ring. Snuka gave chase and JJ Dillon attacked Snuka from behind. Captain Lou Albano rushed over (waddled...went as quickly as his physique would allow) and slammed into JJ. The show ended with a brawl on the floor as Snuka fought Superstar and Albano rolled around with JJ as security tried to break it up.
***Emperor's note: okay, obviously I WANTED to see Brisco come into the middle of the match and get three solid falls before Saint and Jerry decided the thing. Brian Christopher was put in the fall guy role and won the thing, so again we book on the fly here! And that's what happens when dice decide your plans stink!
