NWA Worldwide with Gordon Solie and Bob Caudle The introduction by Gordon and Bob talked of the finalized card for INTERNATIONAL INCIDENT coming in less than a week: - Vader challenges Randy Savage for the NWA world title - The Road Warriors defend the NWA tag team titles against The Bolsheviks - United States champion Magnum TA battles Ivan Koloff in a Russian Chain Match - Mr Electricity Steve Regal puts the light heavyweight title on the line against exciting newcomer Brian Christopher - Tiger Mask from Japan meets England's Johnny Saint in a special challenge match - Jimmy Valiant and Manny Fernandez face Jim Cornette's Midnight Express of Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condrey (w/Mr Hughes) - Jack Brisco faces Harley Race in a grudge match - Konnan, the biggest star in Mexico, goes one-on-one with Dr Tom Prichard Tully Blanchard defeated George SouthSouth gave it his all, avoiding a dropkick early and connecting with a few moves of his own before Tully got tired of games and put him away with the Slingshot Suplex. Tully joined Gordon for an interview post match. Gordon said Tully comes here with an impressive resume, but he seemed to have all he could handle with George South on this occassion and he'll need to step up his game to succeed in this territory. Tully did not like hearing that and started yelling at Gordon, grabbing him by the collar as he did so. TIGER CONWAY JR ran out and told Tully if he wanted to get in the face of someone who can fight back, come to NWA Championship wrestling this Saturday at 6:05PM and try to catch the Tiger by the tail. Jimmy Valiant and Manny Fernandez defeated The Texas HangmanIt was our first look at the Hangmen here and they were impressive in defeat. This was a competitive match and the Hangmen nearly caught Jimmy off guard when they pulled their switch move outside of the ring, with Psycho coming into the ring in place of his partner to get a near fall. Boogie fought back and in the end it was the Boogie Woogie Elbow on Psycho that won it for the popular duo. BRIAN CHRISTOPHER came out to ringside to talk with Gordon and Bob. Christopher said he made the biggest impact possible with his debut on the latest edition of NWA Championship Wrestling and he intends to keep the momentum going at International Incident. Disco came out to dispute him, saying BC is just a Disco Inferno wanna-be and has no chance against Mr Electricity this weekend. BC appealed to the crowd and asked if they thought that was true. Of course they didn't. BC said he can wrestle better, he looks better, and he most certainly dances better than Disco OR Regal. DI took offense and asked for a dance-off. Christopher said this isn't Soul Train, but he will see Disco this coming Saturday at 6:05 and, as a warm up for when he beat Regal at International Incident, he will show Disco all of his best moves.... in the ring. In action from Philadelphia, Shane Douglas defeated Blue Meanie via Pittsburgh Plunge.Douglas bad mouthed and slapped Meanie to start the match. Meanie fired back and hit a Meanisault after a barrage of moves. He couldn't keep Shane down, but a nice back and forth match ensued. Eventually Shane took over and punished Meanie with back suplexes and piledrivers before finishing the job. Following the bout Shane again went on a potty mouth diatribe about the lack of competition and said if he can't have a real challenge he'll just start breaking all of these misfit toys one by one until one shows up. He hit another Pittsburgh Plunge on Meanie and was going for a third when SANDMAN showed up and beat the bejeezuz out of Shane with the Singapore Cane all the way out of the ring and to the locker rooms. Big Van Vader defeated Mr X with the Vader Bomb. Mr X put up a fight, but his feeble offense didn't do much damage. Vader won with an authoritative power body slam followed by the Vader Bomb. Gordon tried to speak to Vader after the bout, but the representative Jim Cornette shoved Gordon away and took the mic. JC said there's no way on Earth Macho Man shows up this weekend unless he really is clinically insane. Vader said Randy Savage is the Macho Man, but Vader fears no man, feels no pain, and gives no mercy. The main event out of the Golden State saw Killer Kowalski win by disqualification over Nature Boy Buddy Rogers. A thrilling match between two of the best in the business. Kowalski had Rogers in trouble when he locked in the Kowalski Claw, but Buddy fought his way to the ropes. Killer tossed Buddy out of the ring and gave chase, but Buddy grabbed the timekeeper's bell and used it on the skull of Kowalski to warrant the disqualification.

Saturday night Tony and David You know Alexis Smirnoff defeated Nacho via Heart Punch. Nacho stood no chance as the Russian attacked at the bell and never let up until the pin. Jim Cornette came out to talk to Tony and David. JC said he doesn't know what's in the water in Russia or what they're feeding those guys but the Russian athlete is superior to everyone except the Midnight Express and Vader. JC added he does know what is in their wallet though, and for communists they sure love American cash because Ivan paid him a lot of it to send Bobby out tonight to soften up Magnum TA in a non-title match before International Incident where it's Ivan and Magnum in a Russian chain match. JC concluded by saying mama Cornette didn't raise him to disappoint so win, lose, or draw Magnum isn't walking away at 100 percent. Tully Blanchard beat Tiger Conway Jr with a slingshot suplex. Conway gave Tully all he could handle and his stock surely has risen even in defeat. This one could have gone either way but Tully's power advantage made the difference in the end. Paul Ellering and The Road Warriors came out for an interview. Ellering said the Russians sure like to hedge their bets for such a group of "confident and superior athletes". Boris and Nikolai have been in intense training, Ivan is paying people to soften up opponents, meanwhile the Legion Of Doom is just doing what they always do: beating people up. Animal said the time is near for those red commies to learn the lesson of their lifetime even if it kills them. Hawk finished by saying that it may not be nice to fool with mother nature, but it's dangerous to your health, well being, and the sanctity of your sphincter to irritate the Road Warriors. Disco Inferno (w/Regal) beat Brian Christopher. Maybe I got a different Disco card than everybody else....Great match, with BC in contr until Disco dumped him to the floor. Regal hit BC in the back of the head with the title belt and tossed him back into the ring where Disco used his Last Dance for the pin*.
Blackjack Mulligan won by disqualification over The Spoiler (w/JJ Dillon). Hard hitting battle of the claw holds. Blackjack was on top for the pin when JJ dragged the referee out of the ring by the leg. As the ref argued with JJ, Dillon slid a roll of quarters into the ring. Spoiler hit Blackjack with it and was disqualified. After the bell Barry Windham ran out and fought with Spoiler, clotheslining him over the top rope before going over to check on Mulligan. US Champ Magnum TA pinned Beautiful Bobby in a non-title match Bobby looked tremendous in singles action, using a mix of high flying and brawling tactics to make this a long and even affair. Cornette made sure to get his shots in every time Bobby tossed Magnum outside of the ring. Eventually Bobby threw Magnum into the ropes and ducked for a back body drop but TA used a sunset flip for the pin. As soon as the pin occurred Ivan Koloff jumped Magnum from behind with the Russian chain. Smirnoff held Magnum as Ivan used a Russian sickle with the chain to KO the US champ before the Road Warriors rushed out and chased the foreign menaces away. *Storyline stuff there. The roll was a 10 on out of the ring. So Disco actually got yet another clean pin just judging by the dice rolls. Can't be having that!

INTERNATIONAL INCIDENTKonnan defeated Dr Tom Prichard via Niagra Driver pin. A very good opening bout between the superstar from Mexico and a man currently without a clear position in the wrestling world. Dr Tom got some good offense and one near fall with the Dr Bomb, but Konnan lived up to his reputation and got the pin after about six minutes of action.
Brian Christopher defeated Mr Electricity Steve Regal to win the light heavyweight championship. Christopher was coming in on a shocking loss the previous night, but did not let it alter his gameplan. Disco Inferno tried to interfere on behalf of his partner Regal, but Christopher turned the tables and used a sunset flip power bomb to the floor to set up the top rope leg drop and the pin in ten minutes and change. Regal was irrate after the bout as Disco tried to calm him to no avail.
Tiger Mask pinned Johnny Saint with the Tiger Suplex. This one was kind of disappointing. They started out exchanging holds, but Tiger Mask took Saint down after about a minute and then used the Tiger Suplex shortly after to get the pinfall victory in a short and uneventful match.
Jack Brisco defeated Harley Race with an airplane spin and pin. Brisco and Race made up for the last match by putting on a wrestling clinic. The match had everything you could ask for: holds and counters, brawling, lots of near falls, Brisco surviving the vertical suplex, Race fighting his way to the ropes to break the figure four. Eventually Brisco wore Race down enough with an airplane spin (ch E, but I don't use the chart listed moves) to dump him on the mat and get the pin.
The Road Warriors defeated The Bolsheviks with the Doomsday Device on Nikolai to defend the tag team championship. The Bolsheviks had been on an epic roll until running into the Road Warriors. This was a pretty standard brawling encounter, with the Russians controlling the middle of the match until Hawk made the tag out to Animal who came in and cleared house before setting up the Doomsday Device for the win.
Magnum TA defeated Ivan Koloff to defend the United States championship in a Russian Chain match. Magnum bled buckets, but survived the torturous offense of Ivan to hit a belly to belly suplex in about fifteen minutes and go on to defeat the Russian in his own match.
Jimmy Valiant and Manny Fernandez won by disqualification over The Midnight Express. The early story here was Manny and Jimmy coming to the ring with PAMPERO FIRPO, who immediately attacked MR HUGHES and brawled with him back to the locker rooms, taking the bodyguard out of the equation. This was a highly competitive match with Manny saving Jimmy from a pinfall and Bobby saving Dennis likewise later in the bout. Eventually Jimmy locked in a sleeper and Bobby seemed to be fading when Jim Cornette ran in an wacked Valiant over the back with his tennis racquet for the disqualification.
Big Van Vader pinned Macho Man Randy Savage to win the world heavyweight championship. Randy came in hot and jump started the match with a running knee to the back of Vader as Gary Michael Capetta was doing the introductions. Vader bailed out of the ring and Randy followed up with an axehandle smash off the top rope. Vader made his comeback and hit a Vader Bomb, but Savage kicked out at two. Vader went to the power bomb and again Savage survived. Frustrated, Vader threw Randy out of the ring, but Savage made his comeback. Randy got Vader back in the ring and hit a piledriver, but Jim Cornette hopped onto the ring apron to cause the distraction. Randy grabbed JC by the collar and was about to punch him in the jaw, but Vader recovered and slammed into Savage from behind. Vader set up and hit the MOONSAULT to get the pin and become the new world champion.
*Notes: Really wasn't feeling this card as much as I'd anticipated. Some decent action, a few letdowns. Midnights are clearly not done with Manny and Jimmy, but where do the Russians go from here? The big territory in New York has eyes on Savage, so will he be around to challenge Vader to a rematch or will someone else step up to be next in line for a title shot? More importantly, can Electric Boogie overcome their troubles and continue to be the main focus of the show whether anyone likes it or not? And what do I even do with Brian Christopher ? Let him go tour the other territories with the title? We shall see. Depends on how I feel I suppose.

Saturday night with Tony and David Your intrepid hosts kicked off the show recapping the big happenings from International Incident and were interrupted by former light heavyweight champ Steve Regal and Disco Inferno. Regal said Brian Christopher has the belt but not the title as far as he's concerned and as soon as he gets his rematch Regal will prove it. Disco stopped him and pointed out that he beat Christopher the day before the title match and that should give Disco the next title shot. Regal argued that DI only won because of Regal's help. Emotions were running high when Brian Christopher entered the scene. BC said he could face them both....but he won't. So maybe they should wrestle each other to figure it out. BC cackled and walked away as the duo seemed to be pondering that option. Stars And Stripes made their debut with an impressive win over Mr X and Thunderfoot. Bagwell and Patriot had almost instant fan support and used a double dropkick to set up Patriot's Uncle Slam on X for the win. Patriot and Bagwell went to join Tony and David for an interview but were cut off by Ivan Koloff and Alexis Smirnoff. Koloff said he's had enough of the flag waving Americans here and the Kremlin has given the Bolsheviks their orders to leave due to the failure to defeat the Road Warriors and now that mission falls to Ivan and Smirnoff. So one more new tag team is one too many. Ivan invited Bagwell and Patriot to stick around and see what awaits them if they decide to remain in this territory. Ivan Koloff and Alexis Smirnoff destroyed Jake Milliman and Kenny Jay Alexis softened them up and Ivan finished it off with a Sickle on Jay in less than two minutes. Alexis rushed the ring and laid out Milliman with a heart punch and Ivan was choking Jay when Bagwell and Patriot jumped in the ring to fight off the Russian duo. An angry Patriot went over to Tony and grabbed the mic. He said the Russians don't intimidate him and Marcus and if they want some real American competition they can show up next week and get some. Tully Blanchard defeated Sam Houston Decent match that ended when Sam threw Tully into the corner, but Tully moved and rolled up Sam (with his feet on the ropes) to score the pin. Jim Cornette entered the commentary area in a celebratory mood over new world champion Vader. But he said one thing he was not in the mood to celebrate was Valiant and Fernandez brining out "that furball kook" Pampero Firpo to attack Mr Hughes and cost the Midnight Express the match. He said Hughes is just as angry and he's about to end this nonsense before it can get rolling any further. Mr Hughes won by disqualification over Pampero Firpo A brawl from bell to bell. Firpo locked in El Garfio on the floor and refused to let go, forcing the referee to disqualify him. He kept the hold on after the bell until JC called out the Midnight Express. They were swiftly met by Manny and Jimmy and a six man brawl broke out as the show went to commercial.
Back from the break Barry Windham was with Tony and David. Barry explained that Blackjack Mulligan had been trying to get the best out of him for months now and he's been too stubborn to listen. But he couldn't sit by and let Spoiler and JJ walk over Blackjack last week and it's time to start doing things the right way. That brought out JJ Dillon who said messing in the Spoilers business is very much the wrong way to go about having a healthy and successful life. Barry was unfazed and said there's one way to find out. He hopped into the ring and waited for the Spoiler to join him. Barry Windham and The Spoiler wrestled to a no contest. Several minutes of solid action culminated when Barry hit the Lariat but JJ caused a distraction to allow Spoiler to pull a foreign object and hit Windham in the jaw, just like he did to Mulligan last week. Spoiler went for the pin but Jimmy Snuka ran out and attacked him. Masked Superstar ran in and fought with Snuka as Windham and Spoiler went at it again. The referee could not restore order and threw the match out.
Captain Lou Albano was over with Tony and David frothing and ranting as only he can when JJ Dillon came over to have his say. Dillon said he's had enough of Snuka and it's time to end it once and for all. He proposed Masked Superstar versus Jimmy Snuka in a loser leaves match for next week. Albano agreed and the main event for next week is set.

Saturday night with Tony and David. Magnum TA defeated Scott Irwin to defend the United States championship. Wild Bill caused a distraction, but Scott Casey came out to counteract him. As they fought on the floor Scott turned around and got put down by the TA belly to belly. Magnum was interviewed after the match. TA said he's over this nonsense with Ivan and his Kremlin talk, saying nobody in Russia cares about Koloff either and it's time for a new challenger. Magnum was interrupted, because that's what we do here, by Tully Blanchard. Tully talked himself up but TA cut him off and said Tully needs to put a few more wins under his belt here befor he steps in the US champ's face. Midnight Express and Mr Hughes defeated Jimmy Valiant, Manny Fernandez, and Pampero Firpo via disqualification. Solid fight from bell to bell. Firpo got tagged in against Hughes and went off again, taking it to the floor and using a chair on Hughes, Eaton, and Condrey, sending them running for cover. Tiger Conway Jr defeated Nacho Barrera. Basic highlight match for Conway, who got an easy win with the flying head butt. Jim Cornette made his way over to harass David and Tony. He said Bill Watts had better do something about Firpo before Cornette organizes a strike. But onto other business, the announcement of the Spring Fling series, taking place across the country where VADER vows to cement his place as the greatest world champ ever by defending in every major territory against the best in the world. Details of the first challenge coming next week. Stars And Stripes beat Ivan Koloff and Alexis Smirnoff. A fantastic tag team war. Patriot absorbed a lot of punishment but would not give in. Finally Patriot and Bagwell got on a roll and Patriot his Uncle Slam on Alexis while Bagwell kept Koloff away.
Harley Race joined Tony and David for pre-match comments. He kept it short and said Brisco won a battle but the war is far from over and challenged Jack to come face him in a rematch next week. Harley Race defeated John Mantell with the diving head butt. Mantell fought hard, but Harley put him down in just under five minutes.
Rock n Roll Express beat the Texas Hangmen when Robert pinned Killer. Hangmen dominated the match against Ricky until he made the tag out to Robert. Killer missed a turnbuckle charge and got rolled up for the pin. Disco Inferno and Steve Regal came out to continue their scintillating saga. Tony asked them straight if they decided who was making the challenge to Brian Christopher for the light heavyweight title. They argued some more and seemed ready to come to blows when MELINA made her debut and came out to stand between them. She said what they need is a woman's touch with them as the muscle and her as the mind. She told Tony they'd be here next week and Brian would get his first and last challenger. Masked Superstar defeated Superfly Snuka in a loser leaves match. Amazing main event. Intense. Violent. The end came when Superstar rolled out of the ring to escape the onslaught, but Superfly did a dive over the ropes to continue the fight. Dillon came over but was met by Albano. They fought as Superstar loaded the mask and won the fight on the floor with the loaded head butt. He rolled Superfly back into the ring and used the Cobra Hold to get the win over the already unconscious Snuka.

NWA Worldwide With Gordon Solie and Bob Caudle Gordon and Bob talked up the show and Gordon started the speculation on where the new world champion Vader would start his Spring Fling tour or the NWA, where he vows to defend the title against the top challenger in every major territory in the country. Bob said he may need to extend his scope to our international affiliates because they were preparing to see a real contender from Mexico in Konnan. Matt Striker won by countout over Konnan thanks to interference by Vampiro. Konnan was in control when Vampiro appeared at ringside. Vamp started to climb in the ring but Konnan chased him to the floor. Striker attacked Konnan from behind and rolled back in to argue with the ref. Meanwhile Vamp hit a devestating kick to the head of Konnan, knocking him out for the count. In the hosts area Bob Caudle said Striker and Vampiro just started a war that Konnan may take to the underground of lucha libre and make them pay, with world title implications on the line. Scott Casey won by disqualification over Wild Bill Irwin. The feud between the Cowboys and Long Riders continue unabated. Casey was whipping Irwin pillar to post when Wild Bill bailed and grabbed the whip to earn the disqualification. Casey grabbed a chair and there was a standoff until Irwin finally walked away.
Fritz Von Goering won by disqualification over Bobo Brazil. Good match, but the streak of indecisive finishes continued. The men were fighting on the floor when Brazil got mad that the referee tried to get in between them and pushed him out of the way to get disqualified.
Nick Bockwinkle defeated Red Bastein with the figure four. Red started fast and used a beautiful flying head scissors for a quick near fall. Nick battled back and locked in the sleeper, but Red fought out of it. The action continued until Nick finally secured the figure four center ring for the win. Gordon and Bob talked up Nick as a man deserving of another world title shot after his near win against Savage earlier in the year. Then they introduced Buddy Rogers for a special interview. Rogers said these NWA officials seem to think they are officiating the amateurs with these strict disqualifications like the one that happened with him and Kowalski in their last encounter. Rogers said he wants another match next week with a proper official and then he wants a shot at Vader and the world title because all he'll need is one shot and it will be the era of the Nature Boy in the NWA. Rob Van Dam defeated Steve Corino to win the Extreme television championship. Corino started by attacking on the floor as RVD made his way to the ring. RVD turned it around and cruised to a win, putting the finishing touch on it with the Van Terminator for the style points finish. After the match the brown matter disturbing Shane Douglas appeared yet again and attacked RVD. Sandman also once again ran out and went after Shane. RVD finished it off with a dive from the top onto both men as they fought on the floor.

SUPERSTATION! 6:05PM EST Tony Schiavone. David Crockett NWA Championship WrestlingWelcome to the Saturday evening flagship of the National Wrestling Alliance. Aaaand, JIM CORNETTE is already out to annoy us as Tony and David intro the show. He wants answers from Bill Watts about Pampero Firpo's constant use of weapons and dirty tactics against Cornette's men, and BILL WATTS does indeed make another rare on camera appearance to respond. He said JC is RIGHT, the fans and wrestlers alike deserve clean cut finishes and that hasn't happened between combinations of Cornette's men and Firpo, Valiant, and Manny Fernandez for three encounters in a row. Therefore Watts scheduled a six man tag team match for next week with NO DISQUALIFICATION. This was clearly not what JC was looking for to happen, but he gets it and we'll get the match next week. Ric McCord defeated Tully Blanchard via figure four leglock.Uh....uh-oh. Tully was just trying to pad his record to get to Magnum, but McCord was having none of it. After several minutes of intense back and forth action, Ric slapped on a figure four like that other Ric...or even that other McCord (the guy who is a real Idol). Tully writhed in pain, letting his shoulders drop to the mat. The referee counted the pin before Tully realized what had happened. McCord celebrated his big upset win as Tully argued with the referee about the decision. * The Cowboys, James Storm and Scott Casey defeated Dick Lahart and Bill Taylor.James Storm made sure there wasn't a second upset this week, putting Dicky down with the Last Call to secure a nice win for his team. Tony and David were joined by Melina, Steve Regal, and Disco Inferno. While David seemed a little unhinged at the presence of Melina, Tony held the mic for her as she addressed her new team. Melina said there's one simple way to settle this: one of them gets the title match with Brian Christopher up next, and the other one gets a date with her later tonight. Disco quickly patted Regal on the back and told him 'good luck in your title match' before the trio made their way to the ring for the big bout. Mr Electricity Steve Regal regained the light heavyweight title from Brian Christopher. It was all about the numbers game yet again, as BC hit the top rope leg drop but Melina jumped on the apron to provide the distraction. While the ref and BC had eyes on her, Disco came in from behind and hit his finisher on Christopher. Regal recovered and used the Ft Lauderdale Leglock to win the championship again. JJ Dillon and The Spoiler joined Tony and David for an interview. Tony talked about Masked Superstar's defeat of Superfly Snuka last week and how Superfly is now gone. JJ declared that he is now two for two, getting rid of Brody and now Snuka, and his men have quietly become the dominant force in the territory. He said Superstar has a US title match next week and after that Spoiler will earn his spot and challenge Vader for the world title. BUT, before Spoiler could speak he was attacked by his scheduled opponent Barry Windham, who went about clubbering him and tossed him into the ring to quick start the match. Barry Windham defeated The Spoiler via pinfall.Great action, as Spoiler rebounded from the early disadvantage to make a good showing for himself. After several minutes of heated action Barry rebounded off the ropes with a big lariat and cover, but JJ had the referee distracted yet again. Blackjack Mulligan made his return after a few weeks absence and pulled DIllon off the apron. Spoiler tried to attack Barry from behind, but Barry reversed and used a rolling cradle to get the pin. The Road Warriors and Paul Ellering came out to speak. Ellering said they seem to have run out of competition here and nobody has got the guts to be next to fall to the Legion Of Doom. Hawk said a lot of teams have come with the hope of standing a chance against the Road Warriors, but you can put hope in one hand and cow dung in the other and only one will be full. And the chances of beating Hawk and Animal will stink either way. Animal reassured Hawk that "THAT'S RIGHT!" before saying they're coming with the tag team belts next week and anybody who has the guts can step in the ring and try to take them. Harley Race defeated Jack Brisco after a piledriver. Great main event action between two of the best. Brisco worked over the knee and leg of Race hoping to get the figure four, but Race came back and got his Indian Deathlock instead, grinding Brisco down until Jack could reach the ropes. Race picked up Brisco, hit the piledriver, and got the pin clean in center ring to avenge his loss from International Incident. * You see, this is what happens when the dice don't like you trying to give a guy too many "get over' wins in a row. Come on, little red and blue fellas, I was heading somewhere with this.
