Hated to see Brad Armstrong lose the number 2 spot. Big fan of his. I like that you are using Gordon Solie. I enjoy using him too.

Card 12 – Maple Leaf Wresting – TV – Memorial Gardens, Guelph, Ontario
Gordon Solie welcomes us to the show and we get straight to the action as the Canadian Heavyweight Champion is heading to the ring.
Ric Mccord bested Canadian Heavyweight Champion Jimmy Snuka in a non-title match. Gordon Solie puts over Mccord’s recent success as the action gets under the way with a handshake. Mccord is able to match speed with the champion but it is the power of Snuka that gives him the upper hand. Mccord gets sent into the ring post shoulder first but manages to roll through a cross body from Snuka and gets a near fall. Mccord takes flight with a FLYING BODY PRESS that early ends it. Mccord goes back to the top again and hits his third FLYING BODY PRESS of the match for the incredible upset victory. ***
Masked Superstar comes out to mock the results of the opening match and then he lays out a challenge to Billy Red Lyons to face him in a rematch at Maple Leaf Gardens. Lyons comes out and accepts the challenge and then adds in a counter-challenge to make the contest a best of three falls encounter. Card 13, Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, ON Canadian Heavyweight Title Match – Jimmy Snuka [ch] v. Stan Hansen Canadian Open Tag Team Title Match – Long Riders [ch] v. Original Midnight Express Texas Death Match – Rob Van Dam v. Iron Sheik Best of Three Falls Match – Masked Superstar v. Billy Red Lyons
George Tragos submitted Kip James. James uses his size to dominate the early action using punches and stomps to keep Tragos on the defensive. A power slam gets a two count before Tragos is finally able to slow the down the action and grab a limb. Once the action gets to the mat James is in trouble. James manages to survive an ARMLOCK & SCISSORS but a double wristlock does further damage to the upper body before Tragos switches to the lower body with a grinding toehold for the win. ** ½
Rob Van Dam & Bill Alfonso are out to tell Gordon Solie what they think about their upcoming Texas Death Match with Iron Sheik and Maple Leaf Gardens.
Rob Van Dam w/Bill Alfonso over “Mr. Electricity” Steve Regal. Regal surprized some of the fans gaining the upper hand early on but Van Dam counters a body slam and never looks back. Van Dam landed multiple moonsaults and then crushed Regal with a FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH. Regal is able to get the shoulder up and Van Dam hits his finisher immediately again for the victory. *

Always fun to see Tragos in action. RVD toyed with Regal for a bit before finishing things off.

Card 13 – Maple Leaf Wresting – Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, ON
Angelo Poffo defeated Redd Dogg. The fans were still finding their seats as this one was getting under way. Poffo struggled early but managed to catch Dogg flat footed with a flying tackle after being rebounded into the ropes. Poffo went to work with a series of knee lifts getting a near fall before executing a NECKBREAKER for the three count. * ½
Kip James stunned “Iron” Mike DiBiase. Morgan Dollar had strict instructions for both men and James was able to land a running corner splash in the opening move of the match and it was enough for the victory. DUD
Ric Mccord over “Mr. Electricity” Steve Regal by disqualification. Mccord was out to a great ovation after his recent winning streak. The action was fast paced but Regal held the upper hand until Mccord used a series of flying dropkicks to send Regal to the floor. Mccord followed and Regal smashed Mccord across the back with a chair which caused the referee to immediately call for the bell. *
Leilani Kai downed Madison Rayne. This was essentially a showcase match for Kai despite the desipite the reputation of Rayne Kai dominated from bell to bell and took the pin after a deathkump cross body block. *
Canadian Open Tag Team Champions Long Riders (“Wild’ Bill Irwin & Scott “Hog” Irwin) retained against Original Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey & Randy Rose) w/Jim Cornette. The Express dominated the match cutting off “Wild” Bill from the opening bell. Irwin managed to kick out after a DOUBLE GOOZLE and then he was able to knock the ropes sending Condrey crashing to the mat. Scott Irwin tagged in and caught Condrey with a head butt followed by back to back suplexes to get the three count in a shocking finish (Snake Eyes!) in that there was not pin save from Rose who clearly did not realize how much trouble is partner was in. **
George Tragos submitted Brad Armstrong. The classic battle of speed vs. mat skills went the way of the mat tactician from the opening bell and Armstrong never was able to obtain the necessary space to get any offense attack. An ARMLOCK & SCISSORS was used twice with the second time getting the submission. DUD.
Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) bested Brutus Beefcake & Marty Jannetty by disqualification. The fans were excited to see these four fan favorites to battle but things turned nasty before it was said and done. The Fantastics looked smooth in their attack and their double teaming gave the tandem a distinct advantage. Both Beefcake and Jannetty found their shoulders on the mat for a two count after double sitout hip tosses. A Fulton dropkick sent the action to the floor when Jannetty grabbed an extra camera from Dr. Mike Lano’s bag and smashed Fulton with the device. The referee immediately called for the bell and the fans were not pleased. Beefcake immediately questioned his partners action and Jannetty responded with a superkick that laid out Beefcake in the middle of the ring. * ½
Masked Superstar outlasted Billy Red Lyons in a Best of Three Falls Match. The opening exchange is slow with neither man being able to get the advantage. Lyons breaks the lengthy stalemate with a jumping head cracker followed by rapid fire dropkicks. Superstar is reeling and Lyons applies a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK to take the first fall. Lyons starts out the second fall in control but a series of dropkicks spills Superstar to the floor. Lyons is out after his foe but Superstar shoves Dr. Mike Lano into Lyons and it is enough to take control of the match for the first time. Superstar lands an elbow from the top of the corner and a kick to the knee before landing a flying cross chop to even the match at one fall each. The final fall featured the Superstar taking control and the fans wanting desperately for Lyons to get back on the offensive. Lyons just managed to make the ropes to survive a sleeper and later managed to escape a COBRA HOLD but in the end, a Superstar Clothesline gave Superstar the win. *** Rob Van Dam w/Bill Alfonso pinned Iron Sheik in a Texas Death Match. Sheik was booed out of the building as he addressed the fans before the bell but once the action was underway the night belonged to Mr. PPV as Van Dam landed all of his classic offense including a Van Daminator that busted Sheik open and later a VAN TERMINATOR but Sheik managed to just kick out of the cover. Van Dam did not let up his attack which ended with a FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH for the three count. ** Stan Hansen defeated Canadian Heavyweight Champion Jimmy Snuka by disqualification. Hansen hit the ring slamming his bull rope and cowbell off the rope, mat and corner posts. Morgan Dollar had strict instructions for both men before the bell. Hansen controlled with punches and stomps but soon Superfly battle back with headbutt and chops. A flying head butt gave Snuka a big near fall and as did a piledriver. The action went to the floor and Hansen went for his bull rope but Snuka countered with a kick and then grabbed the weapon. With the fans urging him on, Snuka made use of the rope and bell on his challenger. Morgan Dollar quickly called for the bell ending the match. Snuka and Hansen continued their brawl after the bell and security was need to restore order. **

That show at the Gardens delivered on several levels... The main event finish does an awesome job of setting up the inevitable rematch between Snuka and Hansen for the strap... And I'm pleased the Whole F'n Show emerged victorious in his Texas Death battle with Iron Sheik.
The shocking heel turn by Jannetty should lead to some fun opportunities... Looking forward to the upcoming rivalry between him and Beefcake... Fun times!
