Being busy this weekend with work and watch March Madness I missed the Pistons lose yet another game. This time to the Nets by 10. Now we only had one starter and he is a guy that if we were at full strength earlier in the season was coming off the bench. I have pointed out the difference at the free throw line many times before I know but this one is really bad. We were 2-4 and the Nets were 26-33. They attempted EIGHT times as many free throws and outscored us by 24 points. That is HUGE. They had one player take twice as many free throws as our whole team and another three players take the same amount as our team.

Well, we are guaranteed of at least tying for the worst record. I would say we won't get the top pick after the lottery but with there being no clear-cut top pick like last year, we will probably win the lottery unlike last year.

The Washington Wizards would have tied for the 2nd worst record in NBA history, but they only tied for the 3rd worst thanks to the Pistons finishing with the second worst record ever. At least we did not finish with the worst. Not sure who we will get in the draft but if we cannot keep our stars healthy it will not matter much.

One week till the NBA draft lottery. Next Sunday we find out how many teams jump the Pistons this year. I would bet money that San Antonio is one of them.

The lottery was introduced to, depending on what you believe, either discourage tanking since having the worst record doesn't guarantee the top draft pick (after the Rockets clearly did so to get Hakeem Olajuawon in the 84 draft) OR to deliver Patrick Ewing to the Knicks.

The Suns fired Head Coach Frank Vogel after one season. Maybe the Pistons can sign him to a huge contract.

I predicted that the Pistons would end up with the third or fourth pick in the draft after the lottery. I have to admit I was wrong. We got screwed even worse than I thought we would, and we are drafting fifth.

I was right about San Antonio being one of the teams to jump us, but I thought they would have #1 or #2. I did not realize they had someone else's pick giving them two top 10 picks. If I had I would have rolled back my prediction of where they landed a bit. Well, another losing season for the Pistons is guaranteed for at least the next two years.

Not the strongest draft but man the NBA has it in for the Pistons.
