The start of Detroit returning to greatness started with Steve Yzerman returning home. It took another big step this week. They traded for a young goalie, Alex Nedeljkovic, who looks like a stud and seems happy to come to Detroit. We signed him for next two years. If after that he isn't working out or doesn't want to stay Or becomes to pricey we drafted a young guy who should be ready to go by then. Plus we drafted a giant D for the blue line.
Get the octopus ready as the Wings are moving to the top once again.

Pretty excited about snagging Nedeljkovic especially since I assumed we would grab a new net minder with our first pick in the draft. This move allowed us to draft Simon Edvinsson, D first, and a new goalie at 15 (Sebastian Cossa). Pretty slick moves by Stevie Y. And how about a big shout out to MI hockey! What a night for big blue w players going 1,2,4 and 5th. With that the Wolverines became college hockey's first program to have three teammates go in the first round.

Things are definitely starting to look up in the Motor City!! Been a rough decade but think all our teams are finally on the right path.

I think I read that U of M had 5 current players or commitments get drafted in the first round. That was a record. Having their players go 1 and 2 tied a record and I think the last time it happened was early 70's or late 60's. If all the players drafted play for U of M next year they could be the Fab Five 2.0 Just makes me wonder what they would have done in the tournament if COVID had not kept them out this past spring.

The Tigers have been looking real good and winning a lot. They had a great draft and on the day the draft started two of their prospects played in the Futures All Star game. The Wings did the things I said and the Pistons have the top pick coming up this Thursday plus three picks in the 2nd round.

ESPN is doing an Unrivaled tomorrow at 1PM EST covering the Detroit Red Wings/Colorado Avalanche rivalry. Especially Fight Night at the Joe. I think this would be a good watch for Wings fans that want to remember the glory years and for old school hockey fans who do not mind a bit of fighting with their hockey. Let's Go Red Wings!

Just finished watching the E60 Special. Well, most of it as I am at work and had it on the lobby. Did not miss too much. I just wish ESPN sold these on DVD because I would buy it to watch whenever I want without need of the internet. Damn it was good. So many good memories and some sad ones. I wasn't expecting the part about Vladdy. It got dusty at work during that part.

Man time flies. I was reading something and Tomas Tatar's name came up. I remember when the Wings traded him to Vegas but did not remember it was way back in 2018. It does not feel like four years already but it is. Plus, I thought he was still with them. Did not realize he only spent the one year before being traded. He then signed with another team as a FA. Funny thing is, the Wings got three picks for him. A 1st, 2nd and 3rd all in different years and the 3rd may turn out to be the most valuable. We did not use it but traded it to Carolina, along with a goalie that was an UFA and never signed with Carolina, to get Alex Nedeljkovic.
