Damn, I was hoping Matvei Michkov would have fallen to us at 9. With our history with Russian players, he would seem a natural fit for us and I think our people could have worked something out to get him to our system in a couple years. Too bad you weren't able to get him. Nate Danielson looks promising though so hopefully it all works out in the end. Sending positive vibes your way.😃 |

Say what you want about the Wings, but Stevie Y brought his whole squad. It was a long line to shake Gary Bettman's hand when they came to the podium. Great to see Kris Draper up there. Memories. Yea I think Nate and Axel were two solid, maybe great, picks. I think 2024-25 will be the beginning of the next dynasty. This year is about trying to make the playoffs and I think they might squeak in. Then after that we will start seeing the young guys on the team and in the farm system start to pay dividends and the Wings will be back to making playoffs year after year and be a contender for most of the end of this decade and early next decade.

Tough loss to start the season. Down 3-2 we pull the goalie and give up an empty net goal. Then a bit later we scored a PP goal. Who knows if we didn't pull the goalie what would have happened. At least it was a road game. On to the next one.

We are off to a nice start. #1 in goals scored average and PP%. We are 12th in goals against average and PK%. 4-1 and cruising along.

Another nice win by the Wings. I thought we traded a lot to get Alex Debrincat but so far it has been worth it. He got a hat trick today and has 8 goals and 4 assists thru 6 games. That is 2 points a game average. SWEET.

Tuesday will be Frozen Frenzy in the NHL. All 32 teams will be in action and no two games will start at the same time due to the NFL staggering the times of the puck drop. Kind of a neat thing.

Wings signed Patrick Kane. I was hoping they would but didn't think they would. It's a bit of a risk due to the surgery he had but does not cost a lot, it's one year and could be a big payoff.

Ugh. We were up 4-0 over lowly San Jose about half way through the game and end up losing in OT. Not the way to start the Kane Era.

Patrick Kane scored his first goal as a Red Wing. His second game with us after almost scoring in his debut.
