Big four game series in Boston starts tomorrow. Boston is one of a couple teams we have to jump over to earn a WC spot. We sit 3.5 games out of the last spot while Boston is 2.5 out. Winning 3 of four would be huge. We're going to screw this up. Yesterday, I watched them dominate the Pirates 8-0 and was pumped up! Then, I woke up today to see that they then lost a second game to the Pirates 10-2. Talk about two sides to a coin! THE PAIN. WHEN DO THE LIONS PLAY AGAIN? |

What I don't understand is bringing up a new guy to start the second game. I understand it was a double header, but they had to have regular starters set for the two-game series and one game was just pushed to the second day. Bringing up another bullpen pitcher or hitter I could see to handle possible fatigue of the double header, just not a starter. I will chalk up that loss to the unexperienced pitcher and a bit of hangover from the losing streak. We had been doing good for a few games and hopefully return to that way in Boston. |

Split the series with Boston. Did not make up any ground but did not lose any. One more win would have been nice. Oh well. We now have to turn our attention to Texas, another team in the hunt for a WC spot. Hopefully we can win at least 2 of 3 in the series.

saw the Tigers are sending Spencer Torkelson to AAA. Looks like he's forgotten how to bat since last year.

ESPN doesn't even have this info as I was just on their site and nothing. But yea he and Parker Meadows need to figure out how to hit again. If they both do it will go a long way to giving the Tigers a chance at the WC. |

While reading a story about the MLB all-stars I see a list of teams that had only one representative. I was surprised to see the Tigers NOT on the list. We got two all-stars. Sweet.

Down 5 runs in the bottom of the ninth (9-4) it looked like the Tigers were going to go down in a big way to the mighty LA Dodgers. But then we came roaring back. Tied it in the 9th and won it in the 10th. That means we have won 7 of the last 9 games. Our two losses? A one run loss to division leading and top team Cleveland and a one run loss to these Dodgers last night. We have been playing some really good ball lately. Of course, that makes things harder as we get close to the trade deadline. Do we go from likely sellers to become buyers or at the least, stay with what we got. I see us at the least making a small move but beyond that who knows.

Yup, so yesterday I was watching the game. I needed to get to work so I left during the 8th inning, figuring a loss was in the bag. An hour later my Tigers buddies are texting me non stop asking me "Did you see that?" Lo and behold, that happened, LOL. TIGAZ!!!
