Card # 5
Jim Londos vs Gorgeous George - We see the new and improved Jim Londos again in this match. Jim's quickness, confidence, and aggression are too much for George, who is left to taking out his frustration on the ref and the fans. Londos eventually locks in a standing toehold, and the Gorgeous one taps out. LONDOS WINS BY SUBMISSION
Rod Fenton vs Buddy Rogers - GWA fans are learning one thing about Rod Fenton. If he's involved, it's likely to devolve into a brawl. This is just where Buddy Rogers found himself. In the heat of the melee, Rogers threw Fenton from the ring. The ref had seen enough, and called for the disqualification. FENTON WINS BY DQ
Henry Irslinger vs Maurice Tillet - The once and former Austrian champion met the physically imposing Frenchman in what promised to be an interesting matchup. The Europeans delivered for several minutes, until Irslinger seemed to wear down Tillet, securing an armbar, sweeping the large man's legs, and scoring the pinfall. IRSLINGER PINS TILLET
Red Berry vs Gory Guerrero - Red Berry returns to the ring, where he faces a stiff challenge from Gory Guerrero. The young Mexican quickly takes the initiative, executing one athletic maneuver after another, including a few flying headscisors. After one more, Guerrero pounces for the pin. GUERRERO PINS BERRY
Bronko Nagurski vs George Tragos - Our Main Event tonight pits the two most impressive performers from the new talent crop to hit the GWA. Tragos finds himself on the defensive, just as Costello and Lewis had before him. Once again, Nagurski gets position on Tragos, locks in the modified crab, and twists until he hears the bell. NAGURSKI WINS BY SUBMISSION

Card #6
Bull Curry vs Al Costello - Costello tried to wrestle Bull Curry, and for a while, succeeded to a degree. As the match went on, the punches, kicks, elbows, and knees were too much. Costello was sent sprawling out on the arena floor, where he remained as the ref counted him out. CURRY WINS BY COUNTOUT
Great Gama vs Rod Fenton - The deposed ex-champ returned to form and established himself as a worthy contender at the expense of Mr. Fenton. After controlling most of the match, Gama threw Fenton, wrapped him up for the pinfall, and engaged the crowd. GAMA PINS FENTON
Strangler Ed Lewis vs Jack Zarna - Shortly after Zarna survived an attempted Strangler's Headlock, the two combatants clinched up, and tumbled out of the ring. Zarna appeared to injure his leg, probably spraining his ankle, and was unable to make it back inside the ring. LEWIS WINS BY COUNTOUT
Lou Thesz vs Joe Stecher - Lou Thesz met another former champion, Joe Stecher, and again proved to be up to the task. As he eventually took control of the match, he showed the crowd his latest, the Thesz Press. Thesz pounced, the ref counted to three, and the fans had a new reason to cheer. THESZ PINS STECHER
Ad Sentel vs John Pesek - WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE MATCH - 2 out of 3 falls - Prior to the beginning of the card, it was announced that this World Championship match, and subsequent World Championship matches, would be best 2 out of 3 falls. The two wiley veterans in the ring put on a good show, but it was the champ in both falls, finding just the right opportunity for his infamous Tiger Toehold in the first fall, and scoring the pinfall after a Fireman's Carry Slam in the second. PESEK WINS IN STRAIGHT FALLS.

Card #7
First, ladies and gentleman, your Special Guest Referee tonight, The Sultan of Swat, The Bambino, Babe Ruth! Enter the Yankees' Right Fielder in his official WFA Referee's black and white striped shirt, carrying his trusty Louisville Slugger Hello and welcome to the GWA, Babe! "Thanks Pal, I had the weekend off, so I thought I'd swap my pinstripes for these thicker stripes. They tell me it makes me look slimmer. Maybe I can pick up a couple of dames." So Babe, tonight you'll be officiating our first match, between Buddy Rogers and Gorgeous George, and the headline match between Jim Londos and Maurice Tillet. Your thoughts. "You know, I've been a fan, I've been watching when I can, and I think I know how these guys operate. No funny business tonight. I brought this along to make sure of that!" Ruth takes a swing, as the fans cheer.
Buddy Rogers vs Gorgeous George w/ Special Guest Referee Babe Ruth - The two combatants are introduced to the Babe. The Jersey kid, Rogers, appears awed as he shakes Babe's hand, while George appears to turn up his nose to the star's offered handshake, a move not popular with the crowd, or the ref. The match begins, and we have an entertaining back and forth match. The Babe looks like he knows what he's doing, but he grips that bat the whole time just in case. The Gorgeous one works himself into an advantage, and locks on his Gorgeous Grip chinlock. Rogers taps, and Ruth raises George's hand, resulting in a brief staredown. GEORGE WINS BY SUBMISSION
Al Costello vs Red Berry - Costello and Berry have thusfar had a tough go of it in the GWA. That would change for one of them tonight. The match was even for several minutes, until Berry was sent stumbling out of the ring, seemingly turning an ankle, and was unable to continue. COSTELLO WINS BY COUNTOUT
George Tragos vs Lou Thesz - Two promising young competitors square off in our next match. Both physically impressive, skilled, and tough. The match goes on back and forth for nineteen minutes, when Tragos locks Thesz in an armbar, twists to lock his legs in a scissor hold, and forces Thesz's shoulders to the mat for a three count. Thesz was upset with the decision, feeling he had his shoulder up in time, leaving the ring shaking his head. We're likely to see these two go at it again in the future. TRAGOS PINS THESZ
Gory Guerrero vs Henry Irslinger - An interesting pairing of the former Champion Austrian against the skilled young man from the Arizona desert. Guerrero seems to have Irslinger in his Gory Especial, but Irslinger slips out, takes Guerrero by the jaw, and sends him to the mat with a flying headlock. The ref counted three before young Gory could realize what happened. IRSLINGER PINS GUERRERO
Jim Londos vs Maurice Tillet w/ Special Guest Referee Babe Ruth - The Bambino returns with his Louisville Slugger, and meets the Greek God, and the French Angel. Tillet proceeds to dominate the proceedings, mostly with violent kicks and palm strikes. The coup du gras was a vicious headbutt. Babe could have counted to twenty, but stopped after three. TILLET PINS LONDOS

The Great Gama vs Ad Santel - These two great grappling veterans fought back and forth for a long stretch, thrilling the fans. Gama landed a throw and a pin, but Santel managed to kick out. A minute later, Santel was on the offensive, taking Gama to the mat, and securing the stepover facelock. Gama was forced to concede. SANTEL WINS BY SUBMISSION
Rod Fenton vs George Tragos - Fenton had his best performance of the season against the skilled Tragos. He managed a number of technical moves, and his usual strikes. Tragos was sent sprawling out of the ring, where he seemed to injure his ankle, and was unable to continue. FENTON WINS BY COUNTOUT
Strangler Ed Lewis vs Wild Bull Curry - Curry continued his personal commitment to senseless violence, retrieving his favorite folding chair, swinging wildly at Lewis and at the ref. LEWIS WINS BY DISQUALIFICATION
Bronko Nagurski vs John Pesek - WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP BOUT - Best 2 of 3 Falls - The Champ and the impressive challenger engaged in a tense battle for several minutes, when the fight spilled outside the ring. Bronko was able to climb back in, fended off the Champ, and won the first fall. The second fall was also back and forth, until Pesek got Bronko to the matt, and clamped on his Tiger Toehold. Nagurski managed to cap the third fall with a power slam and a quick cover for the pin. NAGURSKI WINS, PESEK RETAINS TITLE, REMATCH SET

Card #9
Henry Irslinger vs Red Berry - Red Berry's hard luck continues in tonight's match against former champion Irslinger. Berry gave a good account of himself through the match, until Irslinger sent him reeling out of the ring, where Berry's problem ankle gave out on him again, and Berry was unable to make it back into the ring in time. IRSLINGER WINS BY COUNTOUT
Jack Zarna vs Buddy Rogers - Two physically imposing yet struggling rookies were paired up in the next match. Zarna started strong, taking the initiative in the early going, but could not put Rogers' shoulders to the mat. Rogers would fight back with a flurry, and gave the crowd their first look at Rogers' new finisher, the figure four leglock. ROGERS WINS BY SUBMISSION
Great Gama vs Gory Guerrero - The former champion from India is matched up with the skilled young man from Arizona. The match kept the fans on their feet, as both grapplers pushed the pace, took chances, and scored impressive moves. However, in the end, it was Guerrero locking up Gama in the Gory Especial. GUERRERO WINS BY SUBMISSION
Lou Thesz vs Jim Londos - Another great grappling exhibition awaited in the fourth match of the card. Skilled tacticians Lou Thesz and Jim Londos wowed 'em for several minutes as the match went back and forth, with no real advantage appearing either way. Out of nowhere, Thesz lunged at Londos, taking him down with a Thesz press, and secured the pin. THESZ PINS LONDOS
Back for a return engagement in the official's stripes is The Splendid Splinter, Babe Ruth. Babe, a word before you step into the ring...Tonight, you encounter the wild man, Bull Curry. You know his reputation. Your thoughts? "Well kid, I've got a reputation of my own. Bull Curry should realize that, and if he doesn't, he will!"..as Ruth takes a swing with his trusty Louisville Slugger.
Ad Santel vs Bull Curry with Special Guest Referee BABE RUTH - The west coast tough guy would get the call to face borderline psychopath Wild Bull Curry. The Yankee legend keeps a warry eye on the proceedings, and Curry surprisingly fights an even fight with Santel, even resorting to wrestling on occasion. The strikes, scrapes, kicks started to take their effect on Santel when a sudden lightning shot split Santel's face open and put him to sleep. Curry seemed to fumble with something around his waistband, then pounced on the prone Santel for the pin. CURRY PINS SANTEL

Card #10
Gorgeous George vs Strangler Ed Lewis - With Special Guest Referee Babe Ruth - From the outset of the match, George seemed more wary of Ruth than of the muscular toughman Lewis. The Strangler took every advantage, dominating the match. After narrowly avoiding a neck yoke from Lewis, George was tackled, and Lewis pinned his shoulders for the three count. LEWIS PINS GEORGE
Al Costello vs Maurice Tillet - The Aussie looked particularly strong and athletic for several minutes of this match, allowing the Frenchman to resort to clawing and biting at his opponent. Alas, one false step from Costello landed him in the clutches of Tillet's vice grip bear hug. TILLET WINS BY SUBMISSION
Rod Fenton vs Red Berry - The brawler versus the grappler, a classic pairing of counterintuitive styles. Berry's wrestling accumen would hold the day, as he clamped on his Gilligan twist, forcing Berry to concede. BERRY WINS BY SUBMISSION
Joe Stecher vs George Tragos - The former champ put on a stunning, and quick, exhibition of skill. Before Tragos could work out much of a sweat, Stecher had taken Tragos to the mat, legs wrapped tight, and locked Tragos' shoulders to the mat for the count. STECHER PINS TRAGOS
Bronko Nagurski vs John Pesek - WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP REMATCH - The eagerly awaited rematch is here! The first fall proves to be a brutal struggle, with both men issuing and receiving a good deal of punishment. Then, in a flash, the champ scooped Bronko, slammed him to the mat, rolled up on him, hooked the leg, and got the three count. In the second fall, Pesek was unrelenting, sending Nagurski to the mat again and again. After narrowly escaping the Tiger Toehold a second time by reaching the rope, Nagurski screamed at the ref to make Pesek break the hold. When the ref eventually did so, a frustrated Nagurski shoved the ref. The bell rang, and Pesek went home once again with his belt. PESEK WINS BY PIN, AND BY DQ TO RETAIN THE TITLE.

Card #11
Jack Zarna vs Henry Irslinger - Zarna seems to have figured it out. Against the smaller Irslinger, Zarna was able to take advantage of his size and power advantage, wearing down Irslinger in a measured and unrelenting attack. The Austrian would eventually succumb to a reverse back body hold. ZARNA PINS IRSLINGER
Buddy Rogers vs Gory Guerrero - The original hype around Buddy Rogers was mocked and even shrugged off after some weak showings earlier in the season. We may now be seeing the real Rogers. Gory Guerrero was the latest to experience this, holding his own for a while, but eventually it was Rogers crumbling Guerrero with a jumping knee smash, and pouncing for the pin. ROGERS PINS GUERRERO
Great Gama vs Ad Santel - In a pairing of long time top shelf talent, it was the phenomenon from India who dominated the west coast American. After displaying a full catalog of his moves and holds, Gama finished off his opponent with his infamous Gama Throw for the pin. GAMA PINS SANTEL
Jim Londos vs Bull Curry - We see the 'new' Bull Curry again today, seemingly interested in victory, rather than just beating a man with a chair. Curry went toe to toe with Jim Londos, with his usual series of kicks and punches, and occasionally, a wrestling maneuver. CURRY WINS BY COUNTOUT
Lou Thesz vs Strangler Ed Lewis - Our main event pits two top contenders against each other. The wily veteran Strangler Ed Lewis versus the quick rising Lou Thesz. Card #12
Al Costello vs Rod Fenton - Rod Fenton gets involved in another fight with some moments of wrestling. Costello had his moments, but Fenton proved to be the aggressor most of the way. As he wore his man down, Fenton exhibited some impressive athleticism, connecting on three consecutive drop kicks to finish him. FENTON PINS COSTELLO

Great Gama vs Gorgeous George - This pairing came down to physicality and athleticism versus psychology and guile. George was never able to capture the advantage, as Gama had an answer for anything George offered. To finish him off, Gama went to his classic Gama Throw, hooked the leg, and held on to the bell. GAMA PINS GEORGE
Joe Stecher vs Bronko Nagurski - The former champ and the contender put on a brilliant display, in one of the best matches of the season. The momentum swayed back and forth for seemingly ever. The referee was communicating back and forth with the timekeeper when Nagurski caught Stecher in a vicious armbreaker. Stecher could not hold out, and tapped out. NAGURSKI WINS BY SUBMISSION
Maurice Tillet vs John Pesek - WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP BOUT - Best 2 of 3 Falls - The Prairie Tiger put his championship belt on the line against the rough and tumble Frenchman. Tillet seemed to control the flow of the first fall, resorting to more of a brawl than a grappling session. The brawl poured outside the ring, then Tillet managed to beat the champ into the ring, and fought him off to score the countout win. The second fall was dominated by Pesek, securing hold after hold, finished it off with a powerful lift and slam at the center of the ring. The deciding fall was again dominated by the champ, who in short time managed to take Tillet to the mat, secured his leg, and locked on his patented toehold. PESEK WINS 2 OF 3 FALLS
