Introducing the Global Wrestling Alliance!
The premise is to progress chronologically from the earliest available catch wrestlers of the 19th century to the modern day. The first seasons will be grouped by era, and consist of twelve cards each. Starting with the advent of the TV era, we'll progress year by year, with weekly road shows, and TV cards broadcast every Saturday Night.
Season One : Pre - 1920 debuts Season Two : 1920s and 30s Season Three : The WWII years Season Four : The Post-War 40s Season Five and on : progressing annually, starting w/ 1950.
For the first few seasons, only one Championship Belt is sanctioned, the GWA World Heavyweight Championship. We will then be introducing the World Tag Team Championship, likely in 1950, and the Continental Championship somtime in the 50s. The idea is to introduce the Television Tag Team Championship at some point after that.

Card #1
Bull Curry vs Maurice Tillet - In the first match of the season, the GWA debuts two one of a kind men, the likes of which the crowd in attendance has never seen before. The Match was a first of it's kind exhibition in pure violence. Eyes were gouged, punches were thrown, kicks were exchanged, bodies were tossed around. Curry in particular was tossed out of, or scrambled out of the ring on a few occasions. Curry finally had enough and entered the ring with a folding chair he'd acquired at ringside, and proceeded to smash it over Monsieur Tillet's massive cranium. Everybody appeared stunned, the crowd, the referee, and Tillet, who stood there after taking the chair shot with an incredulous look on his face. The referee had no choice but to disqualify Curry on the spot. With these two beasts in the GWA, things are never going to be the same again. Tillet wins by DQ
John Pesek vs "Lightning" Rod Fenton - Another athlete makes his debut in the GWA in this contest. Rod Fenton comes from western Canada with a reputation as a capable brawler. He's matched against established tough guy John Pesek. The match lives up to the hype, with Fenton and Pesek trading blow for blow, throw for throw, Fenton seemed to take the upper hand when he went in for a blatant choke of Pesek, using the bottom rope for added pressire to Pesek's throat. The ref called for the bell. Pesek wins by DQ.
Strangler Ed Lewis vs Gory Guerrero - Gory Guerrero comes to the GWA from Arizona. He gets a tough draw for his debut match, the skilled contender, Strangler Ed Lewis. Guerrero impresses, matching Lewis' quickness and strength. Several minutes in, Guerrero pulls The Strangler over his back, and locks him in to a stunning submission stretch later described as the Gori Especial. Lewis, taken by surprise at the original maneuver, submits to the new guy. Guerrero wins by submission.
Ad Sentel vs Gorgeous George - In a night of 'never seen that before' moments, the GWA is now introduced to the ...flamboyant... Gorgeous George. He's matched against veteran grappler Ad Santel. Santel strikes quickly and frequently, catching George in a series of holds. George stalls when he's able, at the ropes, and outside the rihg, where the fans are relentless as well. Sentel meets him at the ropes and proceeds to deliver a beating, sending George sprawling back oustide the ring, where he seems to content himself as the ref counts him out. Santel wins by countout
Jim Londos vs George Tragos - George Tragos arrives from the Greek Isles to compete in the GWA. He's met in the ring by his countryman, veteran grappler Jim Londos. The two put on a skilled exhibition for several minutes, before the action sends the two sprawling outside of the ring. Tragos is able to crawl back inside the ring first, where he fends off Londos, to score the win via a coutout. Tragos wins by countout.

I'm enjoying this.
I really like that you're using some of the earlier bootlegs. It's cool to see Ad Santel and some of the other "pioneer" guys.

Card #2
Henry Irslinger vs Lou Thesz - The former champ Irslinger gets to introduce the promising rookie, Lou Thesz to the GWA. The hype around Thesz seems to be legitimate, as he matches the Austrian move for move, counter for counter, shot for shot. The crowd witnesses a great exhibition of wrestling skill, as neither man is able to gain much of an advantage on the other, before the timekeeper calls for an end to the match. TIME LIMIT DRAW
Red Berry vs Strangler Ed Lewis - Red Berry, wild man from the Kansas prairies, enters the ring for his GWA debut. Opposing him, enters veteran tough guy, Strangler Ed Lewis, smarting from an upset loss earlier. Berry holds his own in the early going. As the match goes on, Lewis is able to take Berry to the mat, and the veteran takes over the match, eventually locking on his infamous strangle...err....headlock. Berry is done for. LEWIS SUBMITS BERRY
John Pesek vs Buddy Rogers - Another impressive rookie enters the ring, in the guise of one Buddy Rogers, a strapping young lad from across the river in New Jersey. His foe, the wiley veteran John Pesek. Rogers looks the part of a star, but today, he's the pupil, as the teacher provides instruction. After giving the kid a good working over, Pesek applies his infamous toehold, and Buddy concedes. PESEK SUBMITS ROGERS
Al Costello vs Bronko Nagurski - Our penultimate match of the evening features two newcomers. The first, hailing from Sydney, Australia, Al Costello. His opponent, a stranger to none, Chicago Bears star back, Bronko Nagurski. The match is on, and Nagurski appears intent on giving Costello the same treatment he gave the Packers and Giants. Bronko seems to have an answer for every offensive Costello attempts. He locks in the crab hold, and forces Costello to tap. NAGURSKI SUBMITS COSTELLO
The Great Gama vs Joe Stecher - GWA World Heavyweight Championship Bout - Without any further ado, the World Championship is on the line, as Joe Stecher takes on the imposing physical specimen known to the world as The Great Gama. The champ and the challenger lock up and tustle for several minutes, with neither gaining much momentum in the match. Gama's agility and strength seem to be at least an answer for Stecher's skill. As the match grinds on, Gama appears to be wearing out the Champ, and starts imposing his will, tossing the champ around the ring, with less and less in answer from Stecher. One more throw, Gama pounces for the pin, and we have a new GWA World Heavyweight Champion! GAMA PINS STECHER

Card #3...
Bull Curry vs Rod Fenton - Chaotic and violent as you'd expect from these two. Curry gets shoved one too many times, ducks out of the ring....oh no, and here he is with his favorite folding chair, swinging wildly, the ref dives out of the arc of Curry's wild swing, and there's the bell. FENTON WINS BY DQ
Ad Santel vs Jack Zarna - The veteran Santel controls most of the action in this match, then gets position on Zarna, locks in a facelock, and Zarna taps. SANTEL WINS BY SUBMISSION
Buddy Rogers vs George Tragos - Two young talented athletes engage in a great match. Tragos sends Rogers to the mat with one final thunderous slam, hooks the leg, and hangs on as Rogers nearly breaks free before the three count. TRAGOS PINS ROGERS
Maurice Tillet vs Gorgeous George - George appears to have grown a backbone since his first appearance, and looks every bit the part of a contender. George looks strong and agressive from the opening bell. He eventually got Tillet on his shoulders for an airplane spin, tossed and pinned the Frenchman. GEORGE PINS TILLET
Gory Guerrero vs Jim Londos - Tonight, we see a different, confident and agressive Jim Londos. Londos manages to control most of the action, despite a very game effort from the young Guerrero. Londos eventually scoops up Guerrero in a fireman's carry and drives him to the mat with a powerful slam. The ref counts three, and Londos has his most impressive win yet. LONDOS PINS GUERRERO

Card #4
Henry Irslinger vs Lou Thesz - Not quite the suspense of their first matchup. This time around, Thesz seems a step quicker, and just a bit stronger than the Austrian. Thesz caps off his final assault with a series of dropkicks, and wraps up Irslinger snugly for a three count. THESZ PINS IRSLINGER
Joe Stecher vs Red Berry - Stecher regains a bit of swagger by taking it out on poor Mr. Barry. The former champ clamps on a wicked armbar and crossface combo, and Berry has no choice but to tap out. STECHER WINS BY SUBMISSION
Al Costello vs Jack Zarna - The Aussie and the guy from Youngstown appeared to be matched evenly for several minutes, when Zarna appeared to find another gear. Connecting with a number of kicks to Costello's torso, Zarna found an opportunity to lock on his Grecian Grip lock, and Costello had had enough. ZARNA WINS BY SUBMISSION.
Bronko Nagurski vs Strangler Ed Lewis - The strongman from far northern Minnesota proved worthy in a great match against top shelf competition, in the form of Strangler Ed Lewis. The Strangler never appeared to be in control of the match, as Nagurski wore down the vet, and secured Lewis in his crab hold. NAGURSKI WINS BY SUBMISSION
John Pesek vs The Great Gama - The athlete from the upper Ganges region fought with an effort worthy of the World Championship, and appeared by most accounts to have the upper hand through most of the match. A minute later, Pesek pounced, bringing the Champ to the mat, and locked on the Tiger Toehold. Gama struggled to free himself, but had to concede. PESEK WINS THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP VIA SUBMISSION
