Quite a few times...but who's counting?

I did once but I had a LONG period where I wasn't playing my fed at all. I REALLY didn't want to restart. I enjoyed the history I felt I had created with my previous fed and whatever but I also REALLY wanted to post my results and track them better and my entire previous fed history was hand written in old notebooks. So I felt like if I wanted to carry that history forward, I would have to organize those results, type them all out, probably reformat them a little (or a lot) better, etc. before I could move forward. I tried doing that for a while but it became too daunting and completely froze me from playing. Sometimes a restart is what's needed to move forward and enjoy the game again.

I suffer greatly from restarts. Without hyperbole, I started in 2018 and probably have over 20 restarts. Looking back I see a few reasons why: 1: I bought all the cards and made my way to the bootleg groups quickly. Thus making me feel compelled to use all my cards all the time. No matter what, ice eventually looked over at the enormous pile of cards I WASN'T using and tried to use them too. In that, I wish id purchased the sets a bit more moderately. 2: I have way too many ideas. All the time. That coupled with ADD has always caused problems in various hobbies (mostly in my music ventures). 3: As mentioned, I come here and see some really cool idea that I'd like to try out. Some other things I'm not sure are a part of the problem, but suspect they may be: Stats: I keep detailed records of everything that happens, in quite a sports based presentation/mindset. "Systems": I'm obsessed with having a system in place, instead of booking freely. Not sure why. Very interested in seeing others thoughts on thus. Being from the UK, I'm not hampered by having territories but instead just one fed with wrestlers from the 1980s. I would like to stick with the wrestlers I remember but decided to include others that you guys remember. Despite this I've never ran a fed for a decent amount of time. Currently it's because I'm running a 1986 season replay of the English 1st Division in Soccer Blast on another forum which entails playing over 400 soccer matches. But I just like to put matches together and let the dice decide. I don't do storylines and this game doesn't allow you to push a wrestler as the dice do that. As for records, my latest trick is to have the first wrestler to reach three wins become champion. Then everyone is reset to zero and the next wrestler to reach three wins gets a title shot. My only worry is, since I include everyone, is that eventually the championships will be traded between the top wrestlers. But since I keep stop-starting, that worry is far away.

Toasterboy posted an archive of LOW companions. One includes something called "Push Points" and it's a really cool system. It does help to push guys you want. Doesn't guarantee the dice will roll them to victory, but it is heavily weighted in their favor. So if you ever go that direction, there is a tool for it.

If you're having fun, what does it matter if you start over? No one is judging you. If you have a great idea but don't want to disrupt your current promotion, just keep a list of booking ideas. I have a notebook that I've had for probably 15 years that I write down ideas/angles/tag team combinations. When you get to a place to use them, you can flip through your booking notes and drop them into your promotion. I don't think you need to throw everything out the window when you think of a new idea, but if you're not having fun with your setup, go ahead and change it up. Maybe a new owner buys your promotion and does a house cleaning of most of the roster. That way, you can still keep your old title history. I like how Vegas mentioned how he integrated his old promotion's history into his new fed when he brought the color LOW cards in. I think sometimes folks feel the pressure to post and write up their results to impress folks. It's great to hear accolades (or allocades, if you're Lex Luger!), but if that writing, tracking, posting, etc., isn't fun for you, why do it? Everyone's time is precious and limited, so do what makes you happy! With the premise of the multiverse being popular in comics and other medias, whose to say all of your promotions aren't related in some way?

One of the things that makes all FG games very unique is that they don’t “restart” like most all other games do.
That doesn’t mean it can’t, or it’s bad if you do. It’s really no different than starting a new league on Madden or a new season on WWE 2K19.
I hope there is no phobia or stigma about restarting feds because there shouldn’t be. Totally normal.

I think sometimes folks feel the pressure to post and write up their results to impress folks. That's me all over. I was like, "How many ways can I describe a wrestling match and keep readers interested?" that the stress caused me to stop. If folk liked my fed as it was, let me know.

I think sometimes folks feel the pressure to post and write up their results to impress folks. And even worse, somehow feel personally slighted when someone doesn’t “like” their fed. That’s a dangerous trap to fall into. Same when people do “like” your fed or take the time to reply. That’s not a reason to post your fed. Post your fed for yourself. If other people read it, like it and leave comments, great. But that’s not the spirit of the game. That’s the spirit of Club Galactica/The GWF Promoter - sharing results. But the spirit of the game is to book your own fed. Not a fed for others. I’ve said it before. I read a lot of feds I don’t leave “likes” for or comment on. As I’m sure others do w my own feds. But I post online first and foremost to have an online record of my fed. I’m absolutely the biggest fan of my own fed.

Once you start feeling pressure to create a product, the game suddenly turns into a kind of job... And I don't think that was the intention of its creator or anyone else that has helped it evolve... Entertainment and enjoyment! That's what it's all about!
