"More leeway"? So the double roll for DQ is now a TRIPLE roll? Now wouldn't THAT be an interesting house rule? Todd C WTIC Yes it would be. Originally I just did the one roll and the more leeway was doing the double roll. I got to admit, if online had a triple roll I might think of doing that.

WWL Fall 90 Draft preview
Howard Berman: Welcome to the WWL Fall 90 Draft preview show. I am joined by Alice Bundy as we take a look at the upcoming WWL draft. It is a stacked draft. The best WWL has had and we may not see one like this for a long time.
Alice Bundy: At the very least we will not see a Fall draft for a long time if ever as this will be the last one. Staring in 91 the WWL will only do drafts in the Spring. Before we get to who will be the top picks in this draft let's take a look at the current draft order. That has been a lot of movement thanks to trades.
Fall 90 draft
1st round
1 - Mexico City 2 - Glasgow 3 - Frankfurt 4 - Rome 5 - Rome (received from Las Vegas via trade) 6 - Toronto 7 - Barcelona 8 - Las Vegas (received from Rome via trade) (received from New York via trade) 9 - Paris 10 - Chicago 11 - Los Angeles 12 - New York (received from Rome via trade for Spike) (received from London via trade)
2nd round
1 - Rome (received from Mexico City via trade) 2 - Chicago (received from Glasgow via trade) 3 - Frankfurt 4 - Las Vegas (received from Rome via trade) 5 - Mexico City (received from Rome via trade) (received from Las Vegas via trade) 6 - Toronto 7 - Barcelona 8 - Mexico City (received from Rome via trade) (received from New York via trade) 9 - Paris 10 -Chicago 11 -Los Angeles 12 -New York (received from Rome via trade for Spike) (received from London via trade)
Howard Berman: As you see some teams have multiple picks like Rome with three picks, two in the 1st round, and Mexico City with three, two in the 2nd round, while current WWL Cup champions London do not have a pick. As far as for who will be drafted, here is a look at the current pool.
Eligible wrestlers:
Astro Turk - (-12) Black Hole Bart - (-8) Bloodline - 48 Chaos - 59/37 Chopper Mattock - 26 Commander Sam - 25 Count Necros - 28 Creeper - 7 Death Knight - (-8) Death's Head - 25 Dreggs - 37 Earthquake - 18 Encubus - 48 Executioner - 18 Frenzy - 3 Ghengis Khan - 12 Hitman for Hire - 26 Hydra -2 Jack of Diamonds - 21 Lightning - 22 Man-Mountain -18 Mesmer - 29 Mitsuko - 3 Mr. Galaxy - 18 Mutant - 7 Pegasus - 32 Pit Viper - 24 Proteus - 25 Psycho - 3 Quasar - 32 Raven - 45 Renegade - 19 Rogue - 18 Scourge - 21 Tendron - 21 Terak - 19 Thunder - 4 Ursa Major - (-36) Vanity - 7 Vigilante - 34 Vlad Hammer - 14
Howard Berman: Mexico City has the first overall pick and you can pencil Chaos into that spot.
Alice Bundy: Pencil? Heck you can use permanent marker because there is no way they will pick anyone else and they have shown they do not want to trade the pick. It is after Chaos that things get interesting. Most people say the next two off the board will be young upstarts Bloodline and Encubus. Who goes second and who goes third is up to debate however.
Howard Berman: So true. Both men are really good but bring a bit different skill sets. The best way to think of it is in baseball terms, I think. While Encubus is more well-rounded and would be like a hitter that hits for average Bloodline is a risk taker and may strike out more but also is a power hitter that will get a lot of homeruns.
Alice Bundy: A guy that in another draft would probably be the top guy but due to the influx of talent into the Fall 90 draft will probably drop to fourth is Raven. There is talk he could still make it to 3 with Frankfurt or even 2 with Glasgow due to his experience compared to the two younger men we mentioned earlier.
Howard Berman: After that there is a bunch of talented men all grouped together. Guys like Dreggs, Pegasus, Vigilante and the cross-sport talent of Quasar who comes to the WWL from the world of Gravity Ball. He made his mark there and is looking to make his mark in the WWL.
Alice Bundy: It should be an interesting draft and a lot of teams are looking to fill spots on their rosters and some holes in their starting lineups.
Howard Berman: You have New York who traded away Spike looking for that third man to help them get back to the Cup. Chicago and Los Angeles seem set with their starting lineup so mostly are looking for bench help but could always get someone to challenge one of their starters.
Alice Bundy: Las Vegas seems set but with Thantos wanting to win a Cup who knows. Mexico will bring in the big gun of Chaos but who will they put around him to make their team complete. Toronto has two of their starters coming back from IR and might be set or they too may look to improve their starting lineup.
Howard Berman: Over in Europe London lost their Opening match specialist so they may be looking to replace him if they do not think they can resign him. Only problem is, they currently have no picks. Will they trade one from the next draft for one this season? They did that to get Lance At-Las thus they have no picks this draft. That turned out pretty good for them. Rome will be looking to build most of their starting lineup in the draft with 2 of the top 5 picks. They have Spike and Brute on their roster who have potential but have not lived up to it yet.
Alice Bundy: Barcelona, Paris and Glasgow have a nucleus of a team but they may not be good enough to win the Cup. Thus, each of them may be looking to bolster their starting lineup. Lastly, Frankfurt has Wolf and Matador as a nice nucleus and the #3 pick in the 1st round. Who will they bring in to fill out their lineup? A lot of questions as we go into the draft.
Howard Berman: Luckily it is not too far off. The Fall 90 Draft is almost here and after that the Fall 90 season when London tries to be the first team to repeat as WWL Cup winners. For Alice Bundy I am Howard Berman saying, we will see you at the matches.

ESPN Space Special Presentation
WWL Fall 90 Draft
Howard Berman: Welcome to the ESPN Space Special Presentation of the WWL Fall 90 Draft. I am joined by Alice Bundy and Alice, there will be no surprises with the top pick I expect but who knows what could happen after that.
Alice Bundy: So true Howard. Chaos is a lock to go first to Mexico City. It is after that when the real fun of the draft starts. It looks like Commissioner Carter is headed to the podium as I hear fans booing so let's go to him.
Commissioner Carter: Welcome to the WWL Fall 90 Draft. Let's have some fun tonight shall we. Mexico City is on the clock but they have already handed in their selection. So, with the 1st pick in the Fall 90 Draft, the Mexico City Fire have selected Chaos. Glasgow is now on the clock.
Alice Bundy: No surprise there. There had been some talk before the draft about how he will not fare as well on the road due to his ego and being distracted but even a lesser Chaos is still a dangerous Chaos.
Howard Berman: Exactly. Besides, he cannot be more of a disappointment than last season's top pick, Mayhem. It seems the Glasgow pick is in. Will it be Bloodline, Encubus or someone else perhaps?
Commissioner Carter: With the 2nd pick in the Fall 90 Draft, the Glasgow Rangers have selected Bloodline. The Frankfurt Knights are on the clock.
Howard Berman: So, the Rangers go for the homerun hitter instead of the more balanced hit for average Encubus. Interesting. Now, who will the Knights take. They have Wolf and Matador of M83 at the top of their order so someone will be coming in and be a dangerous Opening match opponent. Here is the pick.
Commissioner Carter: With the 3rd pick in the Fall 90 Draft, the Frankfurt Knights take, Encubus. The Rome Empire are on the clock.
Alice Bundy: So, Frankfurt takes Encubus as was kind of expected with Bloodline off the board. Frankfurt now has a stacked lineup. As for Rome, they have the next two picks. They lost out on getting Chaos but can build a strong core right now. Here comes the commish.
Commissioner Carter: With the 4th pick in the Fall 90 Draft, the Rome Empire have selected Raven. The Rome Empire are again on the clock.
Howard Berman: The man that for a while was considered to be the top pick until Chaos and the two young phenoms entered this draft, Raven, goes to Rome and helps with their rebuild. The team started really bad last season but came on strong in the second half. That of course cost them a shot at Chaos. The thing is, most of that team is gone. They are going thru a rebuild that they think will make them stronger in the long haul. Here is their second pick.
Commissioner Carter: With the 5th pick in the Fall 90 Draft, the Rome Empire have selected Vigilante. The Toronto Juggernauts are on the clock.
Alice Bundy: A bit of a surprise there as most mock drafts had Dreggs and Pegasus going ahead of Vigilante. However, Rome recently had all three men out for interviews, a workout and to see them spare in the ring and they decided Vigilante had the better upside. Time will tell if they were right The next pick is in.
Commissioner Carter: With the 6th pick in the Fall 90 Draft, the Toronto Juggernauts have selected Dreggs. Barcelona Conquistadors are now on the clock.
Howard Berman: A good pick for Toronto. I would think they may be happy he slipped down to them at 6. Here comes the next pick.
Commissioner Carter: With the 7th pick in the Fall 90 Draft, the Barcelona Conquistadors have selected Pegasus. The Las Vegas Aces are on the clock.
Howard Berman: Again, good pick and a team that might be happy the guy they got fell down to where they were drafting. The Aces pick next and it will be interesting to see where they go. They seem set with their lineup right now. Thantos at the top, Exo-King who was much improved in the middle and what appears to be a much-improved Pulsar Prime in the Opening matches. So, will the pick be for depth incase of an injury or someone to try and push their way into the starting lineup? We are about to find out.
Commissioner Carter: With the 8th pick in the Fall 90 Draft, the Las Vegas Aces select Quasar. Paris Legion are now on the clock.
Alice Bundy: The Aces went with the Gravity Ball star trying to make a name for himself in the world of wrestling. I could see him challenging Pulsar Prime for the Opening spot. Maybe Thantos wanted someone like that to help push Pulsar and keep him on top of his game. Quasar will be a hit with the Aces fans as Gravity Ball is huge in Vegas. Here comes the Paris pick.
Commissioner Carter: With the 9th pick in the Fall 90 Draft, the Paris Legion have selected Death's Head. Chicago Muscle are on the clock.
Howard Berman: An interesting pick there to say the least. Not sure if he will crack the starting lineup or just be some depth on the bench incase of injuries or Mayhem's possible suspensions from being DQ'd too many times. We are nearing the end of the first round and teams that are mostly set but looking to get better are coming up. Like Chicago who were on the verge of the playoffs and saw them slip thru their fingers. Here comes their pick.
Commissioner Carter: With the 10th pick in the Fall 90 Draft, the Chicago Muscle have taken Chopper Mattock. Los Angeles Stars are now on the clock.
Alice Bundy: Another big muscular guy for Chicago. He is a nice addition to their bench and might push for a spot in the opening match. Who will LA, the team that came so close to winning a second WWL Cup, pick to try and improve their team? We are about to find out.
Commissioner Carter: With the 11th pick in the Fall 90 Draft, the Los Angeles Stars select Mesmer. The New York Titans are on the clock.
Howard Berman: The reigning WWL Cup champs would normally be selecting here but they traded this pick last season to Rome and ended up getting a pick that was Lance At-Las. That was a great trade for London as it took them to the Cup win. Meanwhile, Rome ended up trading that pick, along with their last pick in the 2nd round, to New York for Spike. That is why New York is picking here. That pick is in.
Commissioner Carter: With the 12th and final pick of the 1st round in the Fall 90 Draft, the New York Titans have selected Proteus.
Howard Berman: Well, there you have it. The first round of the WWL Fall 90 Draft is in the books. If you wish to follow the second round of the draft tune over to ESPN 7 otherwise just stay tuned to ESPN Space for a posting of the full draft results.

ESPN Space News Update
WWL Transactions and News
Teams in the WWL have been busy as they try and finalize their rosters before the start of the Fall 90 season. Here is a look of the moves they have made.
London Red Coats: They wanted to resign Incredible Badger and put the band back together. But when he signed with Glasgow, they knew they had to look for someone else to put in the Opening matches. As it turned out they just had to look at Glasgow. Mad Jester was not happy with the Badger signing as that moved him to the bench. So, London made a trade with Glasgow. They sent Fury to Glasgow for Mad Jester. This gives London an established guy to fill their Opening match spot. For Glasgow they move on from a disgruntle player and open some cap space this season.
In a move to give their bench some depth they traded with Chicago. They got Chopper Mattock and will send London a 2nd round pick in Spring 91.
In one additional move London signed Rogue to a one season contract at $50K to fill their fifth roster spot.
Rome Empire: They were looking to unload someone as they had one too many men on their roster. Instead of cutting someone they made a trade with New York. They sent Whiplash, the last member from last season's team, to New York for a 2nd round pick in the Spring 91 draft.
Barcelona Conquistadors: They had to get rid of two men as they had seven on the roster. They cut Billy Jo Boxer and after not finding a trade partner for Mace they cut him as well. While he was considered better than a couple guys they kept, he was the one that got cut due to higher contract. Thus, opening more cap space.
Glasgow Rangers: They made a big splash by signing FA Incredible Badger to a 3-season contract at $140K a season. It was a bit of a surprise he signed with them but now the Rangers have a plug in and leave alone guy for their Opening match. They of course made the trade with London sending Mad Jester there and getting Fury back in return.
New York Titans: They needed to cut two guys to get down to the five-man roster. They ended up cutting Adam Blast and recent draft pick Terak. They of course also traded for Whiplash getting him from Rome. He is expected to take the Opening match spot that Spike filled most of last season.
Chicago Muscle: They needed to cut their roster by one wrestler. The word is they tried trading Hitman for Hire or Renegade but could find no takers. So, they ended up trading a man they just drafted, Chopper Mattock, to London. They decided to get rid of someone they had interest in and get a draft pick as opposed to just cutting someone and getting nothing in return.
Las Vegas Aces: After finding no trade partner for Pit Viper they cut him.
Toronto Juggernauts: Cut Matter and Demon to get down to a five-man roster and being unable to trade either man.
The other teams; Frankfurt, Paris, Los Angeles and Mexico City did not make and changes to their roster.
- In other news, Chaos has already talked to Mexico City about renegotiating his contract. He wants to be the highest paid player in the WWL. Thantos is currently the highest paid at $190K a season. Mexico City has Chaos on the rookie contract of two seasons for $100K per season. The first is guaranteed and the second season is a team option. But wanting to keep their top pick happy, so in an unprecedented move, Mexico City redid his contract for two seasons at $150K per season. The Mexico City GM said they will readdress the issue at mid-season and at the end of the season. Chaos was said to not be overly happy with the outcome but accepted it for now.
- It is being reported that Wolf will be starting the season in the Opening match position. Matador of M83 will be in the Main Event. Wolf has said Matador has earned it. Encubus is good enough to be at least in the Mid-Card according to Wolf who went on to say he just wants to see the team win. If he can help by starting things off with Opening match wins then so be it. Needless to say, some guys on other teams will be unhappy to see Wolf standing across from them in the Opening match.

WWL Fall 90
Week 1
Toronto Juggernauts (0-0) @ Los Angeles Stars (0-0)
(O) Dreggs (T) beat Invincible Krakan (LA) via DQ. Time: 13:26 Fatigue: Invincible Krakan-1 (MC) Splatter (LA) beat Battering Ram (T) with Hatchet Job. Time: 8:24 Fatigue: Battering Ram-3, Splatter-2 (ME) Bishop Hell (LA) beat Dreadnaught (T) with Hellfire. Time: 2:49 Fatigue: Dreadnaught-1
Winner: Los Angeles 2-1
Injuries: None
NOTES: The first game of Fall 90 saw the North American Conference winner from Spring 90 raise a banner for that. It went next to their WWL Cup banner from Spring 89. --- The Opening match was against a rookie and a vet. They went toe to toe and Krakan left the ring for a breather. Dreggs followed him and Krakan lost his cool and got the first DQ of the season. One more and he will miss a game. Not the way LA and their fans wanted to start the season. --- The Mid-Card was a really good match with lots of action. Splatter finally put Battering Ram away. Last season Ram was in the Main Event matches so perhaps he was not as up for this match as he should have been. --- Tied 1-1 going into the Main Event, Bishop Hell wasted no time picking up the W. He hit a Flying Cross and after a kick out he performed Hellfire and got the pin. --- Nice start to the season for LA as they try and repeat as NAC winners and get to the WWL Cup again.
Paris Legion (0-0) @ Frankfurt Knights (0-0)
(O) Wolf (F) beat Justice (P) with Savage Face Claw. Time: 3:36 Fatigue: Justice-1 (MC) Encubus (F) beat Mayhem (P) with Second Coming. Time: 22:07 Fatigue: Mayhem-4, Encubus-3 (ME) Massacre (P) beat Matador of M83 (F) with face wrecked. Time: 2:43 Fatigue: none
Winner: Frankfurt 2-1
Injuries: None
NOTES: It was weird seeing Wolf come out for the Opening match but the Wolf Pack was behind him 100%. Justice escaped the Savage Face Claw only to have Wolf apply it again and Justice was forced to submit. --- Mayhem lost in the Mid-Card match once again but this was a loss with promise. He went up against a top pick from this draft and they battled for over 20 minutes. Mayhem went for his Danger Zone finisher a couple times early in the match and Encubus survived. Later Mayhem survived a Moonsault and pin attempt then the Maffei Masterlock a couple times. In the end Mayhem went to the top rope, Encubus ran up and tossed him off and then hit Second Coming and after a kick out another Second Coming finally secured him the win. Nice start to Encubus's WWL career and a tough loss for Mayhem who will look to get his first WWL win next week. --- There was a lot of anticipation for the Main Event as Matador of M83 officially had the spot and he was going against a guy coming off a great season, Massacre. Sadly, for Matador it was a short match (snake eyes) but with the game in hand he should not feel too bad. Best to get the wins when the game is on the line.
New York Titans (0-0) @ Mexico City Fire (0-0)
(O) Whiplash (NY) beat Solider of Fortune (MC) with Thumbscrew. Time: 2:21 Fatigue: Solider of Fortune-1 (MC) Actagon (MC) beat Dragonmaster (NY) with Grecian Sleeper Grip, Time: 1:53 Fatigue: Dragonmaster-1 (ME) Galactic Punisher (NY) beat Chaos (MC) via DQ. Time: 2:08 Fatigue: none
Winner: New York Titans 2-1
Injuries: None
NOTES: It was a packed house, standing room only, as everyone wanted to see the debut of Chaos and hopefully the start of Mexico City's run to the WWL Cup. --- It turned out they saw three matches that were over quickly. --- Whiplash got off to a hot start for New York. So far, it seemed he was a good pickup for them via the trade. --- The Mid-Card was another quick match. Actagon who was the Main Eventer last season and did himself proud, was in the easier Mid-Card and we might have got a glimpse of how his season will go. He applied the Grecian Sleeper Grip and once Dragonmaster escaped he put it on again to get the win. --- Chaos came out to a fancy entrance and fans cheered wildly for him. He too had a short match but the result was not as good as Actagons. He was starting to gain an advantage so Punisher left the ring. Chaos went after him and they brawled. They were near the announcer's desk and Chaos grabbed some wires and chocked Galactic Punisher resulting in the DQ. Three games into the season and we have two players with a DQ already. --- The fans were quiet as they left, feeling let down. Not how Mexico City owners and management saw the season beginning.
Rome Empire (0-0) @ Glasgow Rangers (0-0)
(O) Incredible Badger (G) beat Spike (R) via DQ. Time: 5:41 Fatigue: none (MC) Vigilante (R) beat King Lear (G) with Vigilante Destroyer. Time: 1:20 Fatigue: King Lear-1 (ME) Raven (R) beat Bloodline (G) with Broadsword. Time: 21:40 Fatigue: Raven-2, Bloodline-5
Winner: Rome 2-1
Injuries: Bloodline has a mild injury but will be fine to go next week.
NOTES: Incredible Badger got things started for the Rangers as he showed why he was a highly sought-after FA. He frustrated Spike who tossed Badger out of the ring and went after him. Badger put his hand on a chair to try and pull himself to his feet. Spike pulled it away so he couldn't which was fine but then he swung it and hit Badger resulting in the third DQ in Week 1. --- It was then time for Rome to unveil their two top picks from the draft. Vigilante made short work of King Lear. He used Police Brutality to get a two count and stagger King Lear. Then the Vigilante Destroyer finished Lear off. Some people were surprised when Rome took Vigilante over a couple other guys but this may be why. Impressive win. --- Fans that were disappointed that the Mid-Card was so short got their money's worth in the Main Event. Two of the top four guys in the recent draft (#2 and #4) went to war against each other to win the game but also show everyone who the better man was. Raven used a pair of Vulture Dives and a pair of Bladerunners early. They did not get him the win then but it took a lot out of Bloodline. Later about 10 minutes in, Bloodline used a couple submission holds including one of his finishers to try and secure the victory. At the end of the match Bloodline rushed into the corner to clothesline Raven but Raven moved and he ran his shoulder into the ring post. Raven went for the kill with Broadsword and got the win. --- Nice start to the season for Rome. If they can get Spike going, they will be a hard team to beat.
Las Vegas Aces (0-0) @ Chicago Muscle (0-0)
(O) Pulsar Prime (LV) beat Cannibal (C) via DQ. Time: 6:23 Fatigue: Pulsar Prime-2 (MC) Massif (C) beat Exo-King (LV) with a Scorpion Deathlock. Time: 23:15 Fatigue: Exo-King-1, Massif-2 (ME) Thantos (LV) beat Bounty Hunter (C) with Masterlock. Time: 9:37 Fatigue: none
Winner: Las Vegas 2-1
Injuries: None
NOTES: The new look Pulsar Prime came out strong but soon had trouble with Cannibal. Where Cannibal went wrong was trying his, illegal, finisher back-to-back. He tried it once and after almost tapping Prime got free. He went for it again and his wire was tangled and the ref saw it so he called for the bell. That is the fourth man to pick up a DQ already. --- Massif and Exo-King had a long match that got the home crowd pumped. Massif applied the Scorpion and forced King to tap. The game was knotted up one win apiece. --- Thantos showed why he is the highest paid player in the league as he battled Bounty Hunter, never put himself in a situation where he was in trouble and he used his finisher to get the win.
Highlight Match of the Week.
Barcelona Conquistadors (0-0) @ London Red Coats (0-0)
(O) Lord Nexus (B) beat Mad Jester (L) with Titan Drop. Time: 13:04 Fatigue: Lord Nexus-2, Mad Jester-1 (MC) Pegasus (B) beat Lance At-Las (L) with Ego Boost. Time: 2:32 Fatigue: none (ME) Iron Mane (B) beat Star Warrior (L) with Final Pounce. Time: 8:01 Fatigue: Iron Mane-2, Star Warrior-2
Winner: Barcelona 3-0
Injuries: None
NOTES: It was a hot crowd as they raised the WWL Cup banner. Perhaps all the pomp and circumstance of the festivities got the the home team as they came out flat. --- Mad Jester tried to get his team off to a good start. He made a couple early pin attempts then hit Jagged Edge. He covered but Nexus kicked out with force at two. At the end of the match Nexus hit a Titan Drop and almost got the pin. So, he went for a second one and got the W. --- The rookie Pegasus caught Lance At-Las off guard with his Ego Boost and pin (snake eyes). Just like that London, who did not lose one time all of last season had their first loss of Fall 90. --- The new and improved Star Warrior looked to build on his MVP season from Spring 90. He hit a Meteor Shower early and got a close two count. Then he unveiled his new finisher, Cosmic Big Bang, but did not hit it as good as he would have liked yet almost got the pin. The end came when he went to spear Iron Mane in the corner and missed, crashing shoulder first into the turnbuckle. Iron Mane took advantage of the situation and hit his finisher for the one, two, three. --- The first and only sweep of Week 1 was of the defending champions.
North American Conference Record (match results)

WWL Fall 90
Week 2
Glasgow Rangers (0-1) @ Paris Legion (0-1)
(O) Justice (P) beat Incredible Badger (G) with a running lariat. Time: 16:25 Fatigue: Incredible Badger-3, Justice-5 (MC) Mayhem (P) beat King Lear (G) with cranium cracker. Time: 10:51 Fatigue: King Lear-3, Mayhem-1 (ME) Bloodline (G) beat Massacre (P) with Bloodline Vertibreaker. Time: 4:23 Fatigue: none
Winner: Paris 2-1
Injuries: Justice has a mild injury. He will be hobbled but can go next week.
NOTES: A rare Opening loss for Incredible Badger. The match had it all. Lots of action on the floor. High risk moves. Badger hit Burrow Blast two times and Justice kicked out with power both times at one. Justice took a beating but was determined to get the win for his team. --- The Paris crowd exploded when Mayhem got the win. Not only was it his first win in the WWL but it secured the game win for Paris. He seemed excited to get the monkey off his back. --- Bloodline got his first WWL win in his rookie campaign and against a solid vet in Massacre to avoid the shutout.
Toronto Juggernauts (0-1) @ Las Vegas Aces (1-0)
(O) Dreggs (T) beat Pulsar Prime (LV) with Twist and Shout. Time: 10:21 Fatigue: Pulsar Prime-5 (MC) Battering Ram (T) beat Exo-King (LV) with a Ram head butt. Time: 19:40 Fatigue: Battering Ram-1, Exo-King-2 (ME) Thantos (LV) beat Dreadnaught (T) with Masterlock. Time: 3:02 Fatigue: Dreadnaught-4
Winner: Toronto 2-1
Injuries: Dreadnaught received a very serious injury. He will miss the rest of the season. For the second straight season he has seen his season cut short due to injury.
NOTES: Dreggs dominated Pulsar Prime in the Opening match. He tried to win with Twist and Shout a couple times then went high risk where Pulsar caught him. In the end Dreggs hit Nuclear Charge and after a kick out went for Twist and Shout and got the win. --- After Battering Ram wrapped up the win for Toronto Thantos was visibly upset. He decided to take it out on Dreadnaught with a quick win. He started the match with a sleeper hold and when Dreadnaught escaped but showed signs of being wobbly Thantos went to the top rope and hit a cross body and almost won then which was still in the first minute of action. He used Masterlock a couple times and while not getting the win, he came close the second time, he wore Dreadnaught down. He went high risk again and hit a clothesline off the top rope and got a 2 1/2 count. Then he went for Masterlock again and got the victory. --- Dreadnaught was in a great deal of pain after he submitted. He needed help getting to the back.
London Red Coats (0-1) @ Rome Empire (1-0)
(O) Spike (R) beat Mad Jester (L) with knee cracker. Time: 5:12 Fatigue: Mad Jester-2 (MC) Lance At-Las (L) beat Vigilante (R) with Martian Manhandler. Time: 13:34 Fatigue: Vigilante-3 (ME) Star Warrior (L) beat Raven (R) with Cosmic Big Bang. Time: 1:45 Fatigue: none
Winner: London 2-1
Injuries: Vigilante has a medium injury but it should not bother him going forward.
NOTES: Spike got his team off to a good start with an impressive win. His team could not ride that momentum. --- Vigilante came back to reality with his first WWL loss but it was against last season's Rookie of the Season so no shame in that. Lance used his Martian Manhandler early and again about mid-match. While not getting the W they did do damage. Vigilante rolled out and instead of following Lance waited patiently for him to get in before the ten count. Lance then went on the attack and hit a third Martain Manhandler and got the win. --- Raven looked good last week in his debut. Not so much in this match but he was facing the reigning MVP so again, no shame. Raven went for the first move and Warrior countered and went on a roll. A Tomahawk Thrust set things up for Star Warrior to hit his finisher and get his first win of the season and first win for London.
Chicago Muscle (0-1) @ New York Titans (1-0)
(O) Cannibal (C) beat Whiplash (NY) via DQ. Time: 4:50 Fatigue: none (MC) Dragonmaster (NY) beat Massif (C) with Dragon Drop. Time: 7:40 Fatigue: Massif-3, Dragonmaster-1 (ME) Bounty Hunter (C) beat Galactic Punisher (NY) with Ambush. Time: 1:05 Fatigue: Galactic Punisher-1
Winner: Chicago 2-1
Injuries: Massif has a light injury but he looks to be fine.
NOTES: The home fans cheered their team as they came in 1-0 and it looked like they had a man to hold down the Opening match position in Whiplash who got a nice cheer. --- In the Opening match Cannibal was again involved in a DQ finish but this time he was the winner. This match spent almost as much time on the floor as in the ring. During the last brawl Whiplash grabbed a TV monitor and struck Cannibal. He instantly regretted doing it. But he got the L either way and is one DQ away from a suspension. --- Massif almost got the win for him and Chicago with a Volcanic Drop but Dragonmaster kicked out at the last moment. He fought back and got the win for his team to even things up. --- The Main Event saw a match between two men that have had many in the WWL. Both have been in the Main Event spot for their teams since Day one of the WWL. Fans expected a long drawn-out battle but got a record setting short match instead. Hunter used his Hunter's Claw to soften Punisher up and finished him with Ambush. He almost got the win under the minute mark. Just 6 seconds faster and he would have. Both these men can look dominating at times but then have unexplainable losses like this one.
Frankfurt Knights (1-0) @ Barcelona Conquistadors (1-0)
(O) Wolf (F) beat Lord Nexus (B) with Savage Face Claw. Time: 15:46 Fatigue: Wolf-2, Lord Nexus-3 (MC) Encubus (F) beat Pegasus (B) with Gamemaster DDT. Time: 1:22 Fatigue: none (ME) Matador of M83 (F) beat Iron Mane (B) with Matador Death Run. Time: 11:19 Fatigue: Matador-2
Winner: Frankfurt 3-0
Injuries: None
NOTES: This was one of those Opening matches where one guy, Lord Nexus, looks across and sees Wolf and has to wonder what is going on. Not that either of the other two options would have been much better. Nexus put up a good fight. Near the end of the match, he hit Titan Drop a pair of times but each time Wolf was not fazed as he kicked out easily. He applied his finisher and the match was over. --- Encubus looked impressive against a fellow rookie, winning in quick time. He tossed Pegasus into the ropes and got Pegasus on his shoulders for a Fireman's carry DDT. He then followed up with his Gamemaster DDT finisher and the match was done. --- Frankfurt became the first team to start 2-0 this season. But they were not finished. --- Matador of M83 battled Iron Mane and got the win to complete the sweep.
Highlight Match of the Week.
Los Angeles Stars (1-0) @ Mexico City Fire (0-1)
(O) Soldier of Fortune (MC) beat Invincible Krakan (LA) with The Revenger. Time: 5:44 Fatigue: none (MC) Splatter (LA) beat Actagon (MC) with an ax handle. Time: 11:01 Fatigue: Actagon-4 (ME) Chaos (MC) beat Bishop Hell (LA) with Bow of Defeat. Time: 4:50 Fatigue: Bishop Hell-3
Winner: Mexico City 2-1
Injuries: Actagon has a serious injury and concussion. He will be questionable for next week.
NOTES: Soldier of Fortune got the home team off to a good start. Meanwhile Krakan continues to struggle this season. --- Splatter hit a Hatchet Job around the 3-minute mark and two more around the 5-minute mark. While he only got 2 counts they did work in softening Actagon up. He just could not get anything going before losing. --- Before the Main Event started, as the visitor Bishop Hell came out, the crowd started a real low "Chaos" chant. They slowly got louder and louder till it was deafening as he made his way out. --- Chaos kept his cool and applied his Bow of Defeat finisher four straight times. Every time Hell got out, be it eye rack or low blow, he seemed weaker than just a moment ago. The fourth Bow finally beat him and got Chaos his first WWL win. He stood tall as the fans cheered. He looked good here but next week he will be on the road. Will booing fans mess with his mind and ego? --- With the LA loss, all six teams in the North American Conference are tied at 1-1.
