Hey guys, figured I had to chime in. I realize the model is somewhat new, but the con exclusive cards are a thing going forward. There will be opportunities for folks to buy some of the leftover cards if they missed one, but only at future cons.
I usually leave the ticket option open until the Monday after the con for the folks that want to buy the cards. To preserve the integrity to the con exclusives I don't make them generally available after that point barring extenuating circumstances. I remember earlier in the year someone was in the hospital for a week and was unable to buy the ticket and I was able to help out. If its just oops I missed, I have to say no for now, but if you explain whats going on and have a valid reason then thats entirely a different story.
Its not a perfect system, but trying to do right by everybody best we can.

Thats why I also included the mystery pack, which was going for $100 in the auction. Needed to cover costs, but wanted to lessen the blow somewhat. |

In addition to Paralyze, Paul Ellering and the overnight all you can eat taco bar, GCON attendees also received mystery packs full of rare collectible cards. I received a card I didn’t even know existed, and I’ve been working w FG for like 20 years. That’s how mysterious they were. |

I am gonna toss in my three cents. (damn inflation) As a player and not a collector who mostly plays COTG I like that the cards included at G-Con are of guys already in the universe. That way if I miss out, like with the special Omega, it is not the end of the world as I have Omega cards. I do like that the card has different stats, moves and maybe a special mechanic. For instance, the Chaos Supreme was nice but much like his other cards while it sounds like the Paralyze really is a bit different. So, it will be a nice addition but at the same time not the end of the world if I had not got it. I mean a new character would be nice for the G-Com card but it would suck more if I did not get it. That being said there seems to me plenty of time to put in the order. I mean, I was planning on attending this year. I had bought my plane tickets, reserved a room and rental car. But I held off buying actual ticket as work was starting to be an issue. I ended up having to cancel my plans and got the virtual ticket even knowing I could not attend that way but could get my cards. Where there is a will there is way. Some sets from the past I missed because life got in the way are no longer in print. I will just wait till the reimagined finally get around to doing those sets. If not, no big deal. I mostly want them to read the books and get a better feel for the history of that time. For me, this game is about having fun. Not stressing out over it. Enough other things to stress over. Like knowing we will never have a Red 3 movie. Sigh.

a new character would be nice for the G-Com card but it would suck more if I did not get it. I’d prepare for anything at this point. If not a brand new character, definitely a wrestler alternate universe enough that they are basically like a new character, like Solitude for example. |
