Hi Folks:
Hope everyone is doing well. I’m a recent newcomer to COTG and so far I’ve been having a blast with the game. A few weeks ago I picked up the 2087 and 2125 starter sets to kick off my GWF federation. While I considered doing different federations for each starter set I eventually decided to just lump everyone in together for the time being. As I add in more card sets I may eventually re-consider and split the roster in two.
My federation will be a little bit different as it’s going to be all about wrestlers pursuing championships. I will be holding a monthly tournament with all my guys and the goal will be to go deep in the tournament and earn yourself a title shot. I decided to establish 4 titles that all the wrestlers are eligible for. They are, in order of prestige: Galactic Heavyweight, Interplanetary, Television and Heavy Metal. The winner of the monthly tournament will receive a shot at the Galactic title and the runner-up a shot at the IP title. The 2 semifinal losers will have a third place match with the winner receiving a TV title match and the loser facing the Heavy Metal champion. I will also be doing a monthly tag team tournament as well for opportunities at the Galactic Tag Team and Interplanetary Tag Team Titles. I have 11 wrestlers who qualify as cruiserweights along with 8 women so one championship apiece will be established for each of those divisions. For me the unpredictability of the tournament atmosphere adds an additional layer of excitement to the game.
All champions will participate in the monthly tournament. If the Galactic Champion wins it all he will not have to defend his title that month and he will be entitled to an automatic rematch when he does eventually lose his title. The same rule will apply to all other champions too. For example, if the IP champion finishes as the first runner-up he would be free from defending that month plus get the automatic rematch too. If the IP, TV or HM champions win the monthly tournament they get the Galactic title shot but they will still have to defend their secondary title. Wrestlers are allowed to hold multiple titles and there’s no limit to how many they can have.
I will be holding one Supercard per month where all the championships will be defended. I also plan on doing a Riegel Rumble and a Lethal Lottery style tournament towards the end of the year featuring the top performing wrestlers from that year. For now I’m not really interested in playing out the storylines or the feuds although that could change as time goes on.
I’ve already played out my initial monthly tournament to determine my first champions but as I type this on my IPad I notice that the battery is almost dead. Give me a few hours to re-charge and I will get my first tournament results posted. Sorry to keep you all in suspense folks. I feel like a bit of a heel for that. LOL!
Any feedback or suggestions would be most welcome.

Hi again everyone:
As promised here are the results of my first tournament. After subtracting the women along with manager, commissioner cards etc. I was left with 66 male wrestlers in my set. As a result four guys had to wrestle an additional match in order to get me down to 64 for an even bracket. All pairings were drawn by a random tournament generator.
Qualifying Round: Swarm beat Encubus Nitro beat Anivar
First Round: Lord Nexus beat Tanck by DQ Swarm beat Nitro Zygon beat Bloodline Clinch beat Ghenghis Khan U. S. Male beat Commander Sam Shoot beat Nosfera Massacre beat Renegade Brute beat Beast Rider Tricks beat Rush Vidtek beat Pit Viper Omega beat Plethador Gryt beat Exo-King Actagon beat Vanity Commrade Terror beat Proteus by DQ Death Knight beat American Guy Sly Drury beat Massif Endgame beat Pulsar Ensor beat Bishop Hell by DQ Retribution beat Mutant Tristan beat Thantos Malkuth beat Thantos 2 Paganax beat Mantis The Betrayer beat Symbiosis by DQ Killer Queen beat Payback Coven Black beat Invincible Krakan Havoc beat The Executioner Paralyze beat Hector The Holy Brown Bear Patch beat Thraxx Aethran Overmaster beat Scimitar Tauran beat Wolf Turmoil beat Panther Warrior Star Warrior beat Oracle
Second Round: Lord Nexus beat Swarm by DQ Zygon beat Clinch by DQ Shoot beat U.S. Male Massacre beat Brute by DQ Tricks beat Vidtek Gryt beat Omega Actagon beat Comrade Terror Sly Drury beat Death Knight Endgame beat Ensor Tristan beat Retribution Malkuth beat Paganax The Betrayer beat Killer Queen by DQ Havoc beat Coven Black Patch beat Paralyze by DQ Aethran Overmaster beat Tauran Star Warrior beat Turmoil
Third Round: Zygon beat Lord Nexus Shoot beat Massacre by DQ Tricks beat Gryt Sly Drury beat Actagon Tristan beat Endgame The Betrayer beat Malkuth Havoc beat Patch Star Warrior beat Aethran Overmaster
Quarterfinals: Zygon beat Shoot by DQ Sly Drury beat Tricks Tristan beat The Betrayer by DQ Star Warrior beat Havoc
Semifinals: Sly Drury beat Zygon Star Warrior beat Tristan
Third Place Match: Tristan beat Zygon
Finals: Star Warrior beat Sly Drury
First Set Of Champions: Galactic Heavyweight: Star Warrior Interplanetary: Sly Drury Television: Tristan Heavy Metal: Zygon
There you have it: Star Warrior wins it. I’m not surprised as based on what I’ve read he’s one of the most legendary wrestlers in the history of the game. I’m a bit surprised at how well Tristan did though. I guess I underestimated him because of his size. I will try to get the Tag Team, Cruiserweight and Woman’s tournament results posted either later today or tomorrow.
On a side note I meant to provide some match summaries for the final two or three rounds but I got so caught up in the game that I forgot to take notes. Last night I completed my first Supercard though and I did jot down some notes there. When I post the results of that event I will have some play by play as to how the matches unfolded.
Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed it. Any feedback or suggestions would be most welcome. Have a good day.

Hi again folks:
Hope everyone is doing well. As promised here are the results of my first tag team tournament. Just a reminder that I’ve decided to create 2 tag titles: Galactic and Interplanetary. The winner of this tournament will be the first Galactic champs and the runners-up will be the first IP champs. Future tournaments will use the same criteria for determining the number one contenders for the two titles.
All 66 wrestlers on my roster will be participating. I did my best to pair everyone up based on the alliances established at the onset of the 2087 and 2125 game years. In a few cases I had to jump ahead or backwards in the timeline to match guys up. COTG Wiki was a HUGE help for that. To the best of my knowledge the only team with no connection to each other is Endgame & Plethador. After pairing everyone else up I was left with those two so for the time being they will be a team. As I add in more card sets in the future I will adjust the tag teams accordingly based on the timeline.
Since I have 33 tag teams two teams had to wrestle an additional match in order to get me to an even bracket of 32. All match pairings were drawn at random by myself.
Alright, let’s get down to action!:
Qualifying Round: 1. Bloodline & Encubus beat Massacre & Brute
First Round: 1. Bloodline & Encubus beat Sly Drury & Paganax 2. Havoc & Payback beat Exo-King & Killer Queen 3. Hector the Holy Brown Bear & Thantos 2 beat Death Knight & Pit Viper 4. Commander Sam & Massif beat Vanity & Mutant 5. Rush & Turmoil beat Comrade Terror & The Executioner 6. Tricks & Oracle beat Ensor & Retribution 7. Endgame & Plethador beat Ghenghis Khan & Invincible Krakan 8. Aethran Overmaster & Paralyze beat Thraxx & Zygon 9. Wolf & Vidtek beat Actagon & Proteus 10. Star Warrior & Omega beat Clinch & Shoot 11. Coven Black & Nosfera beat Patch & Symbiosis by DQ 12. Renegade & Beast Rider beat Tanck & Scimitar 13. Anivar & Tauran beat Swarm & Mantis 14. Thantos & Bishop Hell beat Gryt & The Betrayer 15. U.S. Male & American Guy beat Tristan & Nitro 16. Malkuth & Panther Warrior beat Lord Nexus & Pulsar
Second Round: 1. Havoc & Payback beat Bloodline & Encubus 2. Hector The Holy Brown Bear & Thantos 2 beat Commander Sam & Massif 3. Rush & Turmoil beat Tricks & Oracle 4. Aethran Overmaster & Paralyze beat Endgame & Plethador 5. Wolf & Vidtek beat Star Warrior & Omega by DQ 6. Coven Black & Nosfera beat Renegade & Beast Rider 7. Anivar & Tauran beat Thantos & Bishop Hell 8. U.S. Male & American Guy beat Malkuth & Panther Warrior
Quarterfinals: 1. Havoc & Payback beat Hector The Holy Brown Bear & Thantos 2 2. Rush & Turmoil beat Aethran Overmaster & Paralyze 3. Wolf & Vidtek beat Coven Black & Nosfera 4. U.S. Male & American Guy beat Anivar & Tauran
Semifinals: 1. Rush & Turmoil beat Havoc & Payback 2. U.S. Male & American Guy beat Wolf & Vidtek
Finals: 1. Rush & Turmoil beat U.S. Male & American Guy
Rush and Turmoil absolutely destroyed Stars & Stripes in the Final. American Guy never managed to tag out and was subjected to multiple finishers. Amazingly he kept kicking out until finally he couldn’t. Him and U.S. Male will have to settle for the Interplanetary Tag Team Titles for now and hope they can get another shot at The Gladiators.
Hope you enjoyed reading the results. I will try to get the results of my first cruiserweight and women’s tournaments up within the next few hours. As always any feedback or suggestions would be most welcome. Take care for now.

Hi again:
Here are the results of my first cruiserweight tournament. I have 11 wrestlers who meet the weight classification. The bracket rankings are based on how well each wrestler performed in my initial Galactic Heavyweight Championship Tournament. Wrestlers were re-seeded after each round so that the highest ranked wrestler left faced the lowest ranked wrestler left, second highest faced second lowest, so on and so forth. With 11 wrestlers the bottom six guys had to fight an additional match in order to get me to an even bracket of eight. The top 5 wrestlers each received a first round bye. Here are the rankings:
1. Tristan 2. The Betrayer 3. Coven Black 4. U.S. Male 5. Ensor 6. Vanity 7. Pulsar 8. Nitro 9. Panther Warrior 10. Mutant 11. Mantis
Let’s get down to action:
First Round: #6 Vanity beat #11 Mantis #7 Pulsar beat #10 Mutant #9 Panther Warrior beat #8 Nitro
Quarterfinals: #1 Tristan beat #9 Panther Warrior #2 The Betrayer beat #7 Pulsar #6 Vanity beat #3 Coven Black #5 Ensor beat #4 U.S. Male
Semifinals: #1 Tristan beat #6 Vanity #5 Ensor beat #2 The Betrayer
Finals: #1 Tristan beat #5 Ensor.
Tristan wins it and becomes the first cruiserweight champion. He also becomes the first dual champion in my federation’s history since he won the Television Title in my first Galactic Title tournament. Congratulations Tristan.

TOURNAMENT TO CROWN MY FIRST WOMEN’S CHAMPION:
Hello again:
Hope everyone is doing well. Here is the final tournament to determine my initial champions. Before I begin I would just like to thank everyone who has taken the time to check out my federation and thank you to those who’ve clicked the like button as well. I greatly appreciate it.
Alright, let’s get down to action. There were 8 women in the 2125 card set which is a nice even number for a tournament. All pairings were drawn at random by myself. Here are the results:
Quarterfinals: Sultana beat She Devil Deadliest Of Species beat Rotunda Shann-Ra beat Mother Superior Phantasy beat Strafe
Semifinals: Sultana beat Deadliest Of Species Shann-Ra beat Phantasy by countout
Finals: Shann-Ra beat Sultana
Congratulations to Shann-Ra. I have to admit this was kind of a dull tournament. With the exception of the finals and the match between Phantasy and Strafe every other match was over in 3 or 4 rolls of the dice. I had the whole thing done in under 10 minutes. I guess the dice just had an off day.
Well, now that I have my initial champions it’s time to determine the first contenders. As I mentioned in my initial post I will be running monthly tournaments to determine the number one contenders. Before I post those results I have a quick question for people reading this: Are you interested in seeing the round by round results from the beginning or would you prefer it if I just listed the results from the quarterfinals onward? Please let me know as I want to make sure I’m not boring people.
That’s all from me for now. Have a good day.

My suggestion would be post all the results. Then people that are interested in the whole thing can read them and those that just want the last few rounds can skip to that part of the post. Just do what you feel comfortable posting and brings you enjoyment.

YEAR ONE- JANUARY- CRUISERWEIGHT TOURNAMENT:
Hello again:
Hope everyone is doing well. Now that I’ve determined my first champions it’s time to determine the first challengers. Since I’m using wrestlers from multiple card set years I figured it made more sense to simply refer to my federation progress as Year One, Year Two, so on and so forth. I will probably be doing multiple months every 30 days as it doesn’t really take me that long to run my tournaments. After I’m done for each calendar month I will be running a Supercard where all the titles will be defended. So let’s get going with my January tournaments. First up is the cruiserweights.
Just a reminder that my current cruiserweight champion, Tristan, is participating as well. If he wins the tournament he is free from defending it for the month of January AND he is entitled to an automatic rematch when he eventually does lose the title. Also, please note that the cruiserweight title is not on the line here. You have to win the tournament first in order to get a title shot.
Wrestlers were ranked based on how they finished in the initial tournament. Wrestlers were re-seeded after each round so that the highest ranked wrestler remaining faced the lowest ranked wrestler left, second highest faced second lowest etc., etc. The top 5 wrestlers all received a first round bye. So without further delay here are the results.
First Round: #6 U.S. Male beat #11 Mutant #10 Mantis beat #7 Coven Black #8 Pulsar beat #9 Nitro
Quarterfinals: #10 Mantis beat #1 Tristan #2 Ensor beat #8 Pulsar #6 U.S. Male beat #3 Vanity #4 The Betrayer beat #5 Panther Warrior
Semifinals: #10 Mantis beat #2 Ensor #4 The Betrayer beat #6 U.S. Male
Finals: #10 Mantis beat #4 The Betrayer
Mantis takes it defeating Tristan along the way. Can he beat him again when the pressure’s on? Stay tuned.
