Alright, let’s move on to the woman’s tournament. Shann-Ra is the current champion. Same rules, rankings, and stipulations from the cruiserweight event apply here as well.

Stars And Stripes gain a small amount of revenge for the beatdown that Rush and Turmoil laid on them in the previous tournament. This is an interesting situation as, based on the results, each team in the finals is now the #1 contender for the OTHER teams championship. Instead of doing two separate matches I have decided to do a title for title match between the two teams at my first Supercard.

I will be busy at work for the next few days but I will do my best to get the results of the Galactic Heavyweight Title tournament, plus my first Supercard, up within the next 3 or 4 days.

Hello again:

    Hope everyone is doing well. Sorry for such a long delay in between posts. I’ve been pretty busy with work lately. But I have a nice block of time right now so let’s determine the first number one contender for Star Warrior’s Galactic Championship.

Wrestlers were ranked based on how far they went in my initial tournament. As always wrestlers were re-seeded after each round so that the highest ranked wrestler left faced the lowest ranked wrestler left, second highest faced second lowest, so on and so forth. Just a reminder that Star Warrior will be participating here and if he wins the whole thing he’s free from defending his title this month

YEAR ONE- JANUARY -PROVING GROUND:

Welcome to Proving Ground; my first Supercard. For the first time I will be providing a breakdown of how each match unfolded which I plan on doing for each Supercard. Here’s a rundown of tonight’s matches. Champions are listed first.

1. Main Event for the GWF Galactic Heavyweight Championship:
Star Warrior vs Swarm

2. Interplanetary Title Match:
Sly Drury vs Executioner

3. Title Vs Title Tag Team Match:
Galactic Tag Team Champions: Rush & Turmoil vs Interplanetary Tag Team Champions: American Guy & U.S. Male

4. Television Title Match:
Tristan vs Shoot

5. Steel Cage Match for the Heavy Metal Championship:
Zygon vs Nosfera

6. Women’s Championship Match:
Shann-Ra vs Mother Superior

7. Cruiserweight Championship Match:
Tristan vs Mantis

Since Tristan has two matches tonight we’ll lead off with the Cruiserweight Title match so he has some time to rest.

1. CRUISERWEIGHT  TITLE MATCH: TRISTAN VS MANTIS

Mantis gets on offence early and is in control until  he and Tristan knock each other down with a double clothesline off the ropes. Tristan recovers first and hits Mantis with a 5 Star Frog Splash and an Arcana finisher. Mantis kicks out but Tristan hits him with another Arcana finisher and this time Mantis is down for the three count.

WINNER AND STILL CHAMPION: TRISTAN



2. STEEL CAGE MATCH FOR THE HEAVY METAL CHAMPIONSHIP: ZYGON VS NOSFERA

Zygon gains the early advantage. After some level one and level two moves he hits Nosfera with a Zygon Optic
Blast. Zygon attempts to escape the cage but Nosfera stops him.

Zygon rams Nosfera’s face into the cage and hits him with a rolling knee bar and a Tri-Claw. He attempts to climb out a second time but once again Nosfera stops him.

Zygon then climbs to the top turnbuckle but Nosfera recovers and throws him off. Nosfera hits Zygon with a low blow, rams his face into the cage and hits him with the Demon’s Breath. Nosfera tries to leave the cage but Zygon is able to stop him. Nosfera hits him with another low blow, another Demon’s Breath and tries to climb out again. This time he’s successful.

WINNER AND NEW HEAVY METAL CHAMPION: NOSFERA



3. WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: SHANN-RA VS MOTHER SUPERIOR

A back and forth match early on but eventually Shann-Ra takes over hitting Mother Superior with a swinging DDT and a neck breaker. Finally she hits her with a Machete finisher and pins her for the win.

WINNER AND STILL WOMEN’S CHAMPION: SHANN-RA



4. TITLE FOR TITLE TAG TEAM MATCH: RUSH & TURMOIL VS AMERICAN GUY & U.S. MALE

Turmoil gets off to a commanding lead early on. He hits American Guy with a diving spear and 2 Total Turmoil finishers. Somehow American Guy manages to kick out both times. The fight moves out of the ring where American Guy smashes Turmoil into the announcers table with a Star Spangled Slam. He avoids the DQ, throws Turmoil back into the ring and tags in U.S. Male.

U.S. Male hits Turmoil with a Flying Fist Drop and goes for the pin but Turmoil kicks out. Male knocks him down with a Patriot Missile finisher, goes for the pin but Turmoil kicks out again. Male climbs to the top rope but Turmoil recovers and throws him down to the mat. He tags in Rush.

Rush hits U.S. Male with an Aethran Coup Cannon and an Adrenaline Rush Finisher. He goes for the pin after each move but Male is able to kick out both times. Rush hits him with another Adrenaline Rush and this time U.S. Male stays down

WINNERS AND NEW INTERPLANETARY TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: RUSH & TURMOIL



5. TELEVISION TITLE MATCH: TRISTAN VS SHOOT

Tristan comes out of the gate with guns a blazing as he hits Shoot with a barrage of moves including two Titan Power finishers. He attempts to pin Shoot 3 times in succession but amazingly Shoot kicks out each time.

The fight moves out to the floor where Shoot manages to smash Tristan into the ring post. Shoot throws him back into the ring where he hits him with several level one and two moves. Finally, he’s able to lock Tristan in a Tapped Out Finisher and tapping out is exactly what Tristan ends up doing.

WINNER AND NEW TELEVISION CHAMPION: SHOOT




6. INTERPLANETARY CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: SLY DRURY VS EXECUTIONER

The most lopsided match of the evening as Sly Drury dominated from the opening bell; Executioner never landed a single offensive maneuver. After a few level one and two moves Drury hits him with a Back Stabber and Executioner was down for the count.

WINNER AND STILL INTERPLANETARY CHAMPION: Sly Drury



7. MAIN EVENT FOR THE GALACTIC HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: STAR WARRIOR VS SWARM

Star Warrior gets on offense early on until he throws Swarm out of the ring. Swarm is able to drag Warrior outside, smashes him into the ring post and throws him back into the ring.

Swarm’s advantage is short lived though as he climbs up to the top rope only to be thrown off by Warrior. Star Warrior hits Swarm with two reverse piledrivers and then connects with two Nova Launch finishers.  Swarm is able to kick out the first time but not the second.

WINNER AND STILL GALACTIC HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: STAR WARRIOR


Star Warrior survives his first challenge. Overall I’m happy with the way the event unfolded as there was a nice mix of title changes and champions retaining.

Hello Again:

     Hope everyone is doing well and I hoped everyone enjoyed Proving Ground. It’s time to move on to the tournaments for the month of February. First up is the Women. Just a reminder that Shann-Ra is the current champion. Rankings were based on each competitor’s win-loss record so far this year and as always I used my re-seeding formula for each subsequent round. Alright, let’s get down to action:

With her victory Shann-Ra avoids having to defend her title this month AND she’s entitled to an automatic rematch when she does eventually lose her title. I will likely still put Shann-Ra on my February Supercard in some capacity; most likely a tag team match.
