COMET TV and Hungry Spartan Pizza present... September 25, 2022
Rise up and take the power back
It's time the fat cats had a heart attack
You know that their time's coming to an end
We have to unify and watch our flag ascend
So come on!In-Ring Interview: Claudio Castagnoli * The crowd exploded as
Chad Olson welcomed IPW’s very special guest to the show.
* Castagnoli expressed his pleasure at being there, but his great displeasure at suddenly finding himself without a title belt.
* Olson was about to ask about Castagnoli’s recent loss to Chris Jericho, when…
Don’t call it a comeback
I’ve been here for years… * IPW Heavyweight Champion Malice made his way to the ring, his championship belt draped over his shoulder.
* Castagnoli observed that Malice held a title…and that he had said he didn’t care who he defended it against.
* Malice nodded, and Castagnoli asked, “So…how about me?”
* Malice nodded again, and the match was set for the main event.
Danhausen vs. UGLY * Danhausen took an immediate advantage with a fireman’s carry, but squandered it by celebrating his very nice, very evil takedown.
* UGLY tossed Danhausen around the ring and squashed him with two flying sentons, but was unable to put him down for three.
* After whipping Danhausen into the ropes, UGLY ducked his head early and took a piledriver for his trouble.
* UGLY shrugged off a European uppercut, then began raining punches down on his opponent.
* Danhausen responded in kind with chops, and when the referee tried to separate the two men, they both shoved him down.
NO WINNER: double disqualification (4:50) –
In-Ring Interview: “Always Ready” Matt Cardona * Cardona came out to the ring with his bodyguard Jonah Rock, recently returned from suspension.
* He summoned “The Miracle” Jay White to the ring, announcing it was time for “wish number three.”
* White complied, while Olson protested that the Miracle was still out due to IPW’s concussion protocol.
* Cardona told Olson to “mind [his] business,” and reminded him about the hold-harmless contract White had signed.
* With boos raining down, Cardona informed his arch enemy that his third wish was for White to take on Jonah Rock…and Cardona himself…in a handicap match!
Handicap Match: “The Miracle” Jay White vs. “Always Ready” Matt Cardona & Jonah Rock * White locked up with Rock to start the match, and the big man immediately sent him crashing to the mat with a head butt.
* Rock stomped his opponent mercilessly, while Cardona cheered him on from the corner.
* White ducked a big clothesline and countered with a Flatliner, then a side Russian leg sweep, then an incredible
KIWI KRUSHER for a two-count.
* Despite his injury, White went on a tear, hitting another Flatliner and clamping on a crossface that had Rock struggling to survive.
* Cardona came in illegally and stomped on White’s head, drawing a loud chorus of boos.
* Cardona and Rock made an exchange, but White was still fired up—Cardona absorbed a piledriver and a Flatliner for a two-count.
* White climbed to the top rope and went for a flying clothesline, but Cardona ducked, and the Miracle wiped out the referee.
* That was the cue for the rulebreakers to double-team White mercilessly, culminating in a spike piledriver.
* A new referee raced down just as Cardona hit a nasty running face wash on White while Rock held the fan favorite’s arms from outside the ring.
* Cardona tagged out, and the rulebreakers whipped White into the ropes for a double clothesline…
* …but White ducked under the move, came off the ropes, and hit a double clothesline of his own!
* Stunned, Cardona rolled out to the floor and White powered Rock up for a second
KIWI KRUSHER…
* …and hit it perfectly, earning a three-count and a miraculous victory!
WINNER: “The Miracle” Jay White via pinfall (12:01) **½
Post-Match Drama * As Jay White celebrate his win, Matt Cardona crept up from behind…
* …and White spun around, confronting him face to face.
* Embracing the “better part of valor,” Cardona quickly exited the ring, then grabbed the house microphone from Chad Olson.
* Cardona observed that he now owed White his rematch…and that it would happen next week on Uprising!
Tommy End vs. Justin Decent * Tommy End took control early, lighting his opponent up with palm strikes, a roundhouse kick, and a savate kick.
* With Decent on the ground, End transitioned to a submission game, first with a Dragon sleeper, and then with a Fujiwara arm bar.
* Decent managed to reach the ropes, and End released the hold to hit his
OWARI DEATH FOOT STOMP for one…two…thr—kick out!
* Decent bought some separation with a desperate belly-to-belly suplex, then a stiff clothesline that rattled End’s skull.
* Decent trapped End in a side headlock, turned his body away from the official, and retrieved a foreign object from his pocket.
* WHAM! Decent blasted White, hid the object back in his pocket, and made the cover: one…two…kick out!
* Decent continued on his tear, punishing end with slams and suplexes, then a
DEATH VALLEY DRIVER for a long two-count.
* Decent moved in for the kill and walked right into a roundhouse kick that knocked him out.
* End made a weak cover, but the pinfall was academic.
WINNER: Tommy End via pinfall (11:11) ***
The Wild Cards vs. The Rip City Shooters * Joshua Bishop and Royce Isaacs locked up to start the match, and Bishop scored two points with an impressive waistlock takedown.
* Isaacs powered up to his feet (without breaking the waistlock) and drove backwards…
* …and squashed the referee between his opponent and the turnbuckles.
* With no referee, the match quickly spiraled out of control, with all four men brawling in the ring.
* By the time a new official came out to restore order, Bishop was bleeding heavily from a chair shot across the forehead.
* Despite the loss of blood, Bishop demonstrated incredible heart, kicking out at two-and-nine-tenths after a
HUSH MONEY and again after a
FULLY WILD.
* Wes Barkley tried to come in to help his partner, but Thom Latimer charged across the ring, sending them both out to the floor with a “Cactus Clothesline.”
* Bishop was practically out on his feet when Isaacs took him down with a dropkick to his knee.
* The rulebreaker crashed to the mat and could not muster the strength to kick out of the pin that followed.
WINNERS: The Wild Cards via pinfall (6:47) **½
Andrew Palace vs. “The Spanish God” Sammy Guevara * Sammy Guevara refused to enter the ring until Chad Olson introduced him with his newly given (by himself, of course) nickname.
* None of that mattered to Andrew Palace, who charged out from the back, jumped Guevara from behind, and rolled him into the ring.
* Palace lit his opponent up with jabs and uppercuts before planting him in the center of the ring with a piledriver.
* The fan favorite followed up with a flying elbow drop, but he hit with so much impact he could not make the cover.
* Palace took a little too long getting to his feet, because when he turned back to his opponent, Guevara was waiting with a stiff forearm.
* Guevara landed a picture-perfect Spanish Fly, then went up top for his
630 SENTON, which put Palace away.
WINNER: Sammy Guevara via pinfall (4:21) –
IPW Heavyweight Championship Match: “The Beast” Malice vs. Claudio Castagnoli * Castagnoli started the match with an impressive show of strength, lifting Malice up and slamming him to the mat.
* Unfortunately for Castagnoli, Malice climbed right up to his feet and unloaded with a jab that dimmed the Swiss superstar’s lights.
* Malice tossed his opponent through the ropes and followed him to the floor…
* …where the champion got the better of a nasty fist fight, once again rocking his opponent with a stiff right hand.
* As Malice climbed onto the apron to reenter the ring, Castagnoli seized Chad Olson’s chair and smashed it across the champion’s back.
* The crowd booed loudly as the referee called for the bell.
WINNER and STILL IPW Heavyweight Champion: “The Beast” Malice via disqualification (2:37) *
Post-Match Drama * After the bell sounded, Castagnoli continued to lay into Malice with savage chair shots.
* Once the champion was down—and bleeding—Castagnoli grabbed the house microphone from Chad Olson.
* Castagnoli issued another challenge: a rematch for the title…inside a steel cage!
* Castagnoli: “Because
that is where an animal like you belongs!”
* The newly-minted rulebreaker crushed Malice with one more chair shot, then posed and soaked in the jeers of the crowd.
Closing Credits…End of Show…
