Rise up and take the power back
It's time the fat cats had a heart attack
You know that their time's coming to an end
We have to unify and watch our flag ascend
So come on!In-Ring Interview: “Always Ready” Matt Cardona (with Jonah Rock) *
Chad Olson welcomed Cardona and his bodyguard to the ring but got forcibly backed up by Jonah Rock and chastised for “standing too close.”
* Cardona said that the time was finally right, and that he would defeat “that big goof” Malice for the title.
* Before he could go on, IPW Matchmaker David Marquez appeared on the video wall, saying that he had some news about that main event.
* Marquez pointed out that while granting Cardona’s “three wishes,” Jay White had earned a pinfall victory over the champion.
* The matchmaker went on to observe that White had also beaten Cardona twice: once in a handicap match and once two weeks ago, via count out.
* While Cardona did not seem to care, it became clear that Marquez did…
* …as he added Jay White to tonight’s Heavyweight Championship Match, making it a Triple Threat Match!
* Cardona, already on the verge of a breakdown, went apoplectic when Marquez further declared that Jonah Rock was barred from ringside.
Andrew Everett vs. The Big Picture * Everett was clearly thinking upset, as he scored with a piledriver (!) early and hit his
SHOOTING SKYFALL PRESS for a two-count.
* The Big Picture rolled out to the ring to catch his breath, but Everett quickly ascended to the top turnbuckle and flew…
* …right into a steel chair that his opponent threw into his path.
* The Big Picture took advantage of this opening to slow the match down, going so far as to clamp on an awkward figure four leg lock.
* With Everett in trouble, the Big Picture dragged him out of the ring and hit
A THOUSAND WORDS on the floor!
* Everett struggled but could not even make it to his feet to meet the referee’s count, let alone into the ring.
WINNER: The Big Picture via count out (6:04) **½
Tommy End vs. “The Masterpiece” Chris Masters * As Chad Olson was making his ring introductions, Masters charged at End—practically steamrolling over Olson in the process.
* End quickly spun around and met his opponent with a palm strike that stunned the Masterpiece.
* Masters was able to turn things around, chopping End across the chest and crushing him with an inverted atomic drop.
* Masters charged in for a running knee drop…but End rolled out of the way and the rulebreaker’s knee hit the canvas.
* Masters spat out a curse and struggled to his feet…
* …and End quickly rolled him up with a schoolboy for one…two…three!
WINNER: Tommy End via pinfall (1:54) ½
Post-Match Drama * As Chad Olson announced End’s victory, Masters became enraged, shoving the announcer down!
* Masters signaled that he was about to put Olson in the
MASTERLOCK…
* …but Tommy End spun Masters around and connected with a roundhouse kick that sent the Masterpiece crashing to the mat.
* End helped Olson to his feet and gave him a little smirk, then made his way up the aisle while local medics checked on Masters.
The Workhorsemen vs. The Closers * Josh Briggs and Mike Verna tried to jump the Workhorsemen in the aisle, but Anthony Henry and James Drake fought them off.
* Drake went to work on Briggs to officially start this grudge match.
* Briggs reversed a power bomb attempt with a back body drop, then began savagely laying into Drake.
* A fierce clothesline put Drake on his back, but only for a two-count.
* Verna tagged in and went for a choke, but Drake powered out of it and rammed his opponent’s head into the turnbuckle.
* Drake took Verna down with a lariat, then tagged in Henry so the duo could hit their signature
DOUBLE STOMP MOONSAULT.
* Henry made the cover, and Briggs shouted for Verna to kick out—but he could not.
WINNERS: The Workhorsemen via pinfall (2:08) ½
Post-Match Interview: The Closers * After the Workhorsemen left the ring, Briggs began shouting at his partner, prompting Chad Olson to attempt an interview.
* Olson asked if Briggs had something to get off his chest, and he said no…
* …but he did have something to get off his back!
* Olson stepped back just as Briggs grabbed Verna by the throat and choke slammed him in the center of the ring.
* Not content with the surprise attack, Briggs grabbed his (apparently former) partner by the throat and hauled him to his feet.
* Briggs put Verna down with an
M6, leaving him laying dazed in the ring while the aggressor storming to the dressing room.
Exhibition Match: “The Machine” Brian Cage vs. Shaun Ricker * The two former partners exchanged a fist bump prior to locking up.
* Tied up in a collar-and-elbow, neither man could gain an advantage until they tumbled into the corner.
* Cage released the hold, offering a clean break, but Ricker kicked him in the midsection for his trouble.
* A D.T.B. and a
GRAVY TRAIN each led to a near fall as Ricker poured on the offense.
* Ricker sent Cage tumbling over the top rope with a clothesline, then hit another
GRAVY TRAIN once Cage was back in the ring…
* …but the Machine was able to kick out at two-point-nine!
* A third
GRAVY TRAIN put Cage on his back, and this time there was no kick out.
WINNER: Shaun Ricker via pinfall (7:36) ***
Post-Match Drama * After the match was over, Ricker waved to the crowd and made his way to the back.
* As soon as he was gone, the Legend Killers’ music erupted from the house speakers and Howdy Price led them to the ring.
* Grabbing the microphone from Chad Olson (who was really having a bad day), Price called Cage pathetic: a “poor excuse for a legend…”
* “…but a legend nonetheless!”
* Price motioned for his men to attack the fallen Cage, and they got a few cheap shots in.
* One vicious kick by Sparrow opened a cut under Cage’s left eye.
* The crowd came alive as Shaun Ricker came racing back down the aisle, sliding into the ring to take the fight to both men.
* After Matty Star was clotheslined over the top rope, Howdy Price grabbed Sparrow by the ankles and pulled him to safety.
* Ricker helped Cage to his feet as the cobwebs were shaken off…
* …and the four men exchanged shouted insults and threats until the Legend Killers had disappeared through the curtains.
IPW Tag Team Championship Match: The Pretty Boy Killers © vs. Reno Scum * Luster the Legend started the match for his team, squaring off against Shane Taylor.
* Less than thirty seconds in, Taylor dimmed Luster’s lights with his
ONE HITTER QUITTER, then hit an incredible Canadian Destroyer.
* Adam Thornstowe dove into the ring to make the save, and dragged his partner back to their corner so he could tag in.
* Taylor had a Canadian Destroyer waiting for Thornstowe too, earning a two count.
* Keith Lee tagged into the match and planted the challenger with a huge
SPIRIT BOMB, but Luster rushed in and broke up the count.
* Another
SPIRIT BOMB saw Luster come in one more time, but this time Lee was ready for him.
* As the two big men squared off, a woozy Thornstowe climbed to the top rope…
* …and as soon as Luster shoved Lee off his feet, Thornstowe hit an impressive
FROG SPLASH that earned a two-count of his own.
* A quick tag saw Luster apply his
LEGEND SHIFTER, but Taylor reached in and dragged Lee’s foot under the bottom rope.
* Thornstowe tagged back into the match, but a
SCUM STOMP only earned a two-count before Taylor broke up the pin.
* Lee rolled out to the floor, followed closely by his opponent, who attempted to whip him into the guard rail.
* This, of course, failed, and Lee reversed the whip, sending Thornstowe chest-first into the barricade.
* Taylor tried to join his partner in the attack, but he was intercepted by the referee…
* …who therefore didn’t see Luster drop down to the floor and devastate Lee with a vicious low blow.
* By the time the referee turned around, all he saw was Lee laying on the floor while Thornstowe rolled weakly back into the ring.
* Luster and Taylor were mixing it up on the floor, so there was no one to prevent the official’s ten-count.
WINNERS: Reno Scum via count out (9:06) *****
Triple Threat Match for the IPW Heavyweight Championship: “The Beast” Malice © vs. “The Miracle” Jay White vs. “Always Ready” Matt Cardona * The match began with all three competitors trading blows, until Cardona and White teamed up with a double dropkick to send Malice crashing through the ropes.
* Cardona and White lit into each other like the hated enemies they are…
* …until Malice made his way back into the ring and roughed up both of his opponents.
* The two challengers teamed up again and sent Malice over the top rope with a double clothesline.
* After a lengthy stalemate, White struck with a missile dropkick that put Cardona on the mat for two.
* As soon as Malice began climbing through the ropes, Cardona kicked the middle strand, driving it up between the champion’s legs.
* Cardona could not celebrate for long, as White tripped him up and clamped on a Muta Lock that had him screaming in pain.
* White released the hold and hit an immediate
KIWI KRUSHER that drew a count of one…two…thr—Malice made the save!
* Cardona rolled out of the ring in agony while Malice went after White with jabs and a head butt.
* When Malice tired of pummeling White, he tossed the challenger over the top rope and turned his attention to Cardona.
* A nasty lariat nearly tore Cardona’s head off, and Malice made the cover…
* …only for White to fly off the top rope with an elbow drop across the champion’s back, breaking the count.
* A Flatliner by White bloodied Cardona’s nose, but before he could attempt a cover, Malice struck from behind.
* Malice abused White for a bit, but incredibly, the challenger came firing back and took the champion out with a dropkick to his knee!
* As Malice rolled out of the ring, White followed up with an incredible suicide dive that sent the champion crashing to the floor.
* White set Cardona up for a piledriver, but an enraged Malice struck from behind, laying both men out with huge fists and a double clothesline.
* Malice dropped a huge knee right across Cardona’s bloody nose, and if it wasn’t broken before, it was now.
* Cardona rolled out to the floor, but when Malice followed, White intercepted him with a dropkick from the apron.
* With the champion down again, White focused his attention on the battered Cardona, hitting his
KIWI KRUSHER for one…two…thre—kick out!
* Malice crawled back into the ring, but White was waiting for him and hit a side Russian leg sweep…
* …that sent Malice crashing into Cardona’s chest!
* White rolled Malice out of the way and covered Cardona.
* The referee slid into position and made the count: one…two…three!
