j, I saw this too! Got super excited. I think things, in this time period - specifically with the pandemic - are taking more time than previously. Printing, coding, and just life in general, and time constraints - all have impacted and permeated all aspects of life. Additionally since the pandemic, I just feel like, personally, my time is more valuable to me - spending that time with my loved ones and the people I care about has made other things take a small bit less of a priority than they may have taken pre-February of 2020. Not saying that is happening here, but if you remember from GCON 2022, we were told that the "New medium for COTG" would spurn new cards for the COTG set, and the hope was that by Q4 2022, both the new medium and the cards would be completed. Sounds like maybe we will see this in Q1 or Q2 of 2023, which is awesome! Cannot wait to see what is cooking for COTG in 2023, especially if they are main timeline characters.

I'm not sure how those characters if/will fit into GWF regular but I'll figure out something for them regardless.

Man i went through a wide range of emotions reading this topic. Some great stuff here!
I love this game and this community but I'm kind of burnt out of pro wrestling a little. Was a big CM punk fan but maybe not so much now. I have so much legends now on the backlog before this up coming release. CotG I am caught up and will be probably playing again soon. I think the bi yearly releases were perfect and I was keeping up then but the four quarters of amazing stuff has kind of put me behind (is it a complaint that there is too much good stuff?)
I do get KBs point, I miss the big champions following and the hype. It was always a big deal and I miss the storylines and the hints of what's coming. I always remembered the big feeling for a new edition and playing the next card. But maybe we just all got old and found other things?

I think more than anything all the wrestlers we get now has cost some of that hype. Back in the day, it was the teaser newsletter to order. Later, it was online but you were looking at 4 months with nothing and then suddenly we have the GWF and CPC stuff. Nowadays with say 10 teasers over 3 months you barely finish up and we're already looking at whatever set is coming next.

I don’t generally chime in but I agree with KB. I have lost some of my zest for this game. I have been buying/ playing this game since I was 13 and now I’m in my 40s. I have hired Werner to draw some characters for me to supplement my fed. I now have a full roster of my own characters. I haven’t bought a new game edition since the whole god storyline. It just doesn’t feel the same for me. Still love seeing ads for new stuff.

with as many wrestlers as are out now, that's an easy thing to do. When you can run a 1,024 wrestler tournament and leave people out, that tells you something.

Some of us are so OLD that we can remember when there were 2 GWF sets released every year. It started, as I remember, with the 2092 set, which was also when the number of cards in the set was reduced from 12 to 10. I believe it continued at least until Mark Ashby started putting out the CPC sets, and Chris Osk put out the aCe sets. Tom isn't doing two GWF sets a year anymore, but with Future Shock, FTR, and Kronos coming out, there is plenty of new COTG sets coming out. I bought some of the early, black and white Legends and Future Legends sets, but had to stop for financial reasons. If I can ever find them, I intend to send them to Todd to auction off.

I always remembered the big feeling for a new edition and playing the next card. But maybe we just all got old and found other things? I felt this way a few years ago. I wasn't a fan of going to the once a year game edition from the start (New Beginnings) and it took me a while to get back into things thinking it didn't quite feel the same. I felt that LOW had taken priority as well but the last few years have been great. The GWF is on a hot streak, I'm looking forward to the next Future Shock set, liking the FTR direction, and was hoping for more KRONOS down the line (sad to hear Rob retired). Marvel wasn't Kirby and Lee forever, if we want this to continue, we have to expect the same.

I want all the products to succeed, but not sure why this is a Legends v GWF thing. They are completely different animals
Legends fans, which include me, are hungry for content and we're aggressive in getting signings for the game. Legends only expansion is thru signings, and many of us are hungry in trying to get as many names as possible.
The GWF is strictly content creator based. Tom has went with the one year release years ago, Rob did his years with FTR and now Sam and Todd are getting their feet wet with it. But it's all creator content based...sets/games are only going to be released if creators put out their vision of the game/set.
Legends fans can't push creators to get GWF content out. It's up to the creators
They are two COMPLETLEY DIFFERENT processes.

And Sam and Todd have had some really unique ideas that have been including fan ideas and characters.
