I always enjoy reading other promoters' thoughts on this topic. As we've gotten more of the original B&W cards in color, I have been enjoying the fact that my active USWA roster has a lot of color cards in it. There's something about the Legends background (or uniform backgrounds like the TNT HOF cards) on all the cards that I like having. But if someone has only been released in B&W, I will use them if it fits my plans and storylines. I don't incorporate bootlegs on a regular basis. I've mentioned this on UTP and I think when I was a guest on Roll Up that part of my fun in playing Legends is challenging myself to make use only of official cards. Even if I would really want to use someone not in the game such as Ric Flair, Terry Funk, or Jack Veneno on a regular basis, I will usually only use bootlegs against each other for special attraction matches. I like to come up with ways to use only the official cards and see what possibilities I can make. In my fed I use the following B&W cards: The Sheik - special attraction currently Abdullah Faruuk - Ravishing Rick Rude Danny Doring and Amish Roadkill C.W. Anderson Larry Sharpe Mr. X I very much am looking forward to a day when I have The Sheik and Abdullah Faruuk in color, but most importantly, I am looking forward to a day when the Ravishing one, Rick Rude in color. To be able to retire his card will mean a LOT to me. I took only use bootlegs sparingly. As I run a small territory, though, having The Funks or The Hart Foundation run as a touring World Champion works in my mind. I've also had Flair - as the touring champ for my fed for about six game months (three months in real time) - he won the title from Lou Thesz in an amazing match in Rio.

I mix all cards and all eras. I just swap the black and white cards out for the ones that get colour card versions and keep going. Given the amount of official cards we have I don't use bootlegs or if I do sparingly depending on who it is. But for the most part now its just offical cards.

This is how I handle but as always it's up to you (Promoter!) on how you want to run things. I use some Indy guys in my legends fed as well, depending on their status in real life such as an AJ Styles or Tyler Black (Seth Rollins) being huge names. They fit in fine imo and I have never had any of them dominate to where I wouldn't want use them in that way. I have absolutely no problem mixing color, black and white, indy etc. One of my favorite things is replacing a b&W with a color card when one is released. I could also never see myself being deprived of using Andre, The Sheik, Sabu, Giant Baba, Rikidozan, and so many others simply because they only have black and white cards. As for bootlegs, I really try to use them sparingly and only ones done by those that know how to stat them. I limit myself to around five boots at most, and sometimes get the urge to phase them out entirely. I think right now in my fed I'm using about six or seven boots so I'm over my usual limit. Sometimes it is fun to include them as we may never have them in the game. For example, I am using Jerry Lawler as a foil for Eddie Gilbert in my ECW territory and Jumbo Tsuruta as a tag team partner for Baba in my Japan promotion. Tsuruta may be the only boot I will use consistently as he balances out the top Japan guys in Rikidozan, Baba and Antonio Inoki giving me a solid top four native Japanese stars. Well that's just my two cents on all of this and the bottom line is just have fun however you want to play the game.

I have my Maple Leaf Legends of Wrestling fed which consists mostly of Legends and an ROH:Canada fed that consists mostly of Indy wrestlers. I do a end of the year roster clean up where I renew contracts or let wreslters go if their contract time is up. Then do a free agent draft from all the cards for both feds and bring in new talent where needed. Some indy wrestlers have even been brought up from ROH:Canada given how dominate they have been that fed. One guy who might end up in Maple Leaf Legends of Wrestling is Willie Mack. He has been impressive and seems to be always just short of getting any title. But I keep thinking he would do well in Legends so he is up for recruitment end of my December Supercard.

I've used Legends Bootlegs in the past and, more recently, a mix of black and white and color. I now use all color except for Freddie Blassie. There are really more than enough great choices in the color sets for my needs.

The only reason I don't use the B&W cards more is that they don't stand up to wear and tear as well as the new ones. At this point, I have more wrestlers than I can use anyway. I am a liar. Now that I have protectors on my cards, I use the B&W cards along with the color ones. FYI, that Mil Mascaras is tough sometimes.

I am REALLY looking forward to that card if/when it comes out. He was a long-time champion in my original B&W fed.
