One who I don’t think will get a lot of mention is Warlord. Warlord is the perfect glass cannon. Awesome on offense but his defense keeps him in check. Another is Steve Corino, the way he’s built to take a beating and keep coming. Speaking of Warlord... I think it's very cool that he got an 'A' deathjump rating -- Something that's very rare among power based wrestlers in the game... How many times did he catch someone leaping off the top rope and then crushing them with a big slam? Just because a guy is big and strong, does not mean he does not know how to counter a high risk move... Andre and Vader have 'A' deathjump ratings as well... And I think it suits them perfectly! That is why Jeff Cobb has an A on his deathjump rating for his first/EVOLVE card as at the time (and even more so as Matanza in Lucha Underground when wrestling alot of the smaller lucha wrestlers) he was constantly catching his opponent in midair while they were performing a deathjump on him.

At the end of the Season I keep track of wrestlers contracts and how many months they stay on. Then I do a free agent and renewing of contracts session that lets me see who leaves and who stays and for how long and if there are any conditions. Also if there are free agents up for hire and whether they want a long or short term contract. Also free agents may pop in for a couple shows and go on their way. This is all done by using a solo rpg "Oracle" system of rolling dice and getting a STRONG YES, YES, YES BUT, MAYBE, MAYBE BUT, NO BUT, NO, STRONG NO and other nuances. Can you share a bit about how you use Oracle for this?Sure. So at the end of my last season which happens just around Christmas. I round out the month with a PPV and then when the dust settles I renegotiate contracts that are done or are soon to be done. Some I just let go as I don't want to use them anymore or if there are wrestlers I want to renew then I would use the Oracle. There are dice versions connected to tabletop solo rpg play or you can also find quite a few Oracle Apps. So for example: The Midnight Express were done their time in Maple Leaf Legends and had passed the titles onto the Road Warriors. They were going to leave but I wanted to keep them in. I asked the question "Will the Midnight Express resign" or "Will the Midnight Express resign for a six month contract?" I roll the dice and the oracle comes up with "YES, BUT" I can interpret this how ever I want taking in various factors from their time in my fed to interactions anything to create some lockroom drama or just dirt sheet story stuff. My response to this was "We will resign a six month contract BUT Jim Cornette has to stay as well". So I roll for Jim Cornette and ask the question: "Does Jim Cornette stay in Maple Leaf Wrestling?" I roll and get a "YES, BUT..". Since I wanted to bring in Eric the Red I interpret it like this. "Jim Cornette accepts to renew alongside the Midnight Express BUT also wants to bring in Eric the Red and expand his stable into the singles division. He is willing to bring this guy in and vouch for him and manage him until Erics contract is up and then he is on his own. So I roll for Eric the Red to see how long he wants to stay on for. I ask the question "Do you want a six month contract?" I roll the dice and the result is a "STRONG YES!" So he takes the six month contract and is managed by Jim Cornette. Pretty straignt forward but I add modifiers based on overall morale as well which can shift their answers one or more forward or back on the oracle as well. But this is something you can tweak to your own playstyle. For example when I use to run a CZW fed Harley Race came in and said he wouldn't do hardcore matches and ended up in a bunch of them. This wore on his morale that when I rolled and asked the oracle if he would stay his result was a MAYBE BUT, but due to his morale being low it shifted two down and came up a resounding STRONG NO! In fact he would never work for them again nor after even if he came up in their free agent pool. So hopefully this helps out a little?

Thanks for noticing this, Pariah! This is exactly why Warlord has this rating. I even saw him pin guys after this spot so I definitely felt an "A" was fitting for his Deathjump rating.

Something from the old school days that seems to not be around as much.

Love this thread! It's threads like this that are the reason I have gotten so much enjoyment out of this board over the years.
I don't personally use bootlegs but I have enjoyed looking at the incredible work that so many promoters have done and I have gotten a lot of enjoyment out of making some bootlegs in the past.
As far as the work vs. shoot idea, I look at it as if the intention is that it should appear as if it is a shoot. I look at wrestling the same way I look at movies or any other form of entertainment. The things that the Avengers do in the movies doesn't resemble any real fight I would see on the street but it is still treated as if it is real in their universe. In the same way, I feel like wrestling has its own rules of what combat looks like but people should still get hurt, sell and have reasons for why they are doing things... even if those reasons would be incredibly stupid in the real world.
I personally use I think just 5 titles - World Heavyweight, Tag, Women's, TV, Cruiserweight. Heavyweight, Tag, Women & Cruiserweight are essentially just their own divisions so the only one that is really a secondary title is the TV title. So the way that I (try to) make that title special is by requiring it to be defended once per week on live TV. So it can't be defended on the weekend pre-taped shows but also makes sure that there is a title belt being defended at least once per week on one of the two major TV shows.

I've long entertained the idea of having a fed with a singles title and instead of a tag team title, a big tag team tournament that takes most of a game year to run.

That would prove interesting.
The one belt I have that is unique is my Pioneer Title which is only defended with vintage rules.

I like to keep track of wins/losses and have a record keeping question for you all
Let's say you have a 4v4 survivor series match.
The team that won had a wrestler who was eliminated. Even though the eliminated wrestler’s team won, does it still count as a loss for the eliminated wrestler since they were eliminated? Or is it a win since his team won overall?

So how many shots does a guy get at a belt before it's time to go with someone else? I had Curt Hennig leave town after three failed attempts and Jerry Lynn after two. I think it's good to keep a main event scene fresh and I also think it's better for a top guy to leave than get pushed down the card.
