This was the biggest swerve in wrestling since Hogan joined the nWo! Wowza!

I think only Bobby Heenan saw BOTH swerves coming, LOL!

Issue #11: Salamander in the Grass


A recap of recent events including Skull being snuck into The Crime Stoppers Command Center and the revelation that he is being helped by Buster.


Cosmic Woman: How could you do this to us Buster?

Buster: Oh please. I simply played you like a violin. I knew you only for a few days. I have known Skull for quite a while. He was the one there for me long before I crossed paths with Speedster and the rest of you. Skull is the future and will rule the world. Being an ally of Skull and the Killers Four will pay off for me in so many ways. Surrender and perhaps I can talk him into going easy on you.

Sunman: Never. Good will prevail over evil. Skull and his so-called Killers Four will get what is coming to them and that is a long stay in a prison. It is a shame that you shall be joining them.

Skull: I think not.


A misty finger reaches over and pushes a button on the main control panel. The lights go out and pitch the room in complete darkness. After a few moments Blue Dazzler was able to make his way to the control panel and turn the lights back on. Skull and Buster have escaped. Cosmic Woman checks on Speedster who slowly comes to.


Speedster: I am getting sick and tired of being defeated by Skull. Next time I get my hands on him I will make him pay.

Sunman: In due time my friend. You need to be checked out to make sure you are ok and then you need some rest. Blue Dazzler can you give him a look? Cosmic Woman I need you to go on patrol and see if you can pick up the Skull's trail. I need to look over the Command Center's operating system to see what if anything Skull did to it while also checking for what he was doing if I can figure it out.


Affirmations from Blue Dazzler, who escorts Speedster to the medical room, and Cosmic Woman who flies off to search for Skull and Buster.


Cosmic Woman is flying over the city when a hard rubber ball slams into her causing her to fly off course and smash into a water tower. Water pours out and all over the roof of the building. She sees the cap that Buster is fond of wearing just over the top of a brick wall on the roof. She rushes over to grab him, but it is not Buster under the hat but a mannequin with exposed wires. It gives Cosmic Woman quite the shock before the power burned out. As she laid there stunned The Thinker came out of wherever he had been hiding and attacks her.


Cosmic Woman vs The Thinker

With Cosmic Woman stunned from the sneak attack The Thinker was able to gain the upper hand to kick the off the fight. He hit a DDT on her then as she laid on her front, he got up on the brick wall. He jumped off and nailed her with a knee to the back of her head (Brain Games). He stood up and had a cocky look on his face. He started to walk off thinking he had knocked Cosmic Woman out but then he noticed she started to stir. He went to attack her some more but before he really knew what was happening, she was kicking his butt all over the roof. She unleashed her Vortex Unleashed on him and he was finished.

Winner: Cosmic Woman


As Cosmic Woman was about to grab her conquest a blast of freezing cold air blasted the air turning the water from the water towel into ice. Both Cosmic Woman and The Thinker were caught in a frozen trap. Then Skull, The Untouchable and Buster walk thru a door from the staircase and check on the carnage. The Freeze flies over and joins them.


Skull: Good job Freeze. The Thinker's plan worked to perfection. Well almost. If it was perfect, he would have beaten Cosmic Woman thus not needing us to have you freeze her. But either way, in the end we have her as our prisoner. The Untouchable and The Freeze, you two bind Cosmic Woman and make sure she cannot get free. Then release The Thinker from his predicament. You all shall join me and Buster at the discussed location. We shall see you there.


Sunman, Blue Dazzler and a rested Speedster are searching the city for any sign of Skull and the Killers Four. They get some leads, but they turn out to be false. When they cannot reach Cosmic Woman on her communicator, they get even more worried. They decide to regroup at the Command Center. They are having a light meal when the big screen turns on. It is Skull.


Skull: Hello there mighty Crime Stoppers. I hope I am not interrupting. I am not sure if you know but I have captured your teammate, Cosmic Woman.


He moves to the side and the camera zooms in to behind him where Cosmic Woman is tied to a large stake in the ground. Glowing ropes are tied around her legs, her waist and her chest. It appears her hands are tied behind her back and the stake while her mouth is bound. She does not look happy about it.


Skull: If you wish to get her back, come to the junkyard at the edge of town right off I-29. There you will face off with my Killers Four. If you can beat them, you can save Cosmic Woman. If not, well I will make sure to send flowers.


The screen turns off. The Crime Stoppers are on their feet and ready for battle. Speedster is about to take off, but Sunman grabs his shoulder.


Sunman: Not so fast my young friend. Let us discuss strategy before we rush into what is most certainly a trap.




Will The Crime Stoppers be able to defeat the Killers Four? Can they do it in time to save Cosmic Woman? Are we finally getting to Skull's end game? Check out our next, and last issue, to find out these answers and maybe even a surprise or two. One way or the other the end is upon us.

Issue #12: The Crime Stoppers Stopped the Crime?


A recap of all that has come before between The Crime Stoppers and Skull and the Killers Four that has led up to this glorious finale. What has it led to and who will come out on top?


The Crime Stoppers are seen headed to the junkyard. They see Cosmic Woman tied up but no one around her. They slowly and carefully make their way toward her. Then they are ambushed by Killers Four. Everyone squares off and the battles begin.


Speedster vs The Thinker

The two men are a contrast of styles. Speed vs strength. Speedster starts to get the better of the clash. He whips The Thinker into a rusty pickup truck but it is not enough to put him away. Some High Octane Kicks do more damage but again not enough. The Thinker fights back and tries to toss Speedster into a pile of junk but the youngster reverses it and sends The Thinker head first into a washing machine. Speedster says, "I hope I do not get accused of...brain washing". Then Speedster stars running around The Thinker in what he calls Eye of the Hurricane. The Thinker gets so dizzy he falls down and is easy picking for Speedster who grabs some timing belts from a few cars and ties The Thinker up.

Winner: Speedster


Blue Dazzler vs The Untouchable

It is The Untouchable who jumps out to an early advantage. He has Blue Dazzler on the defensive. Things do not stay that way for long. The Untouchable throws Blue Dazzler towards a pile of junk but Blue Dazzler bounces off it, grabs a shopping cart and runs The Untouchable over. It did some hurt but not enough to end the fight. After some even fighting for a bit Blue Dazzler whips The Untouchable toward a stack of flattened cars. The pile falls over and tumbles onto The Untouchable. His protective shield protects him from the pileup but it takes a lot out of him. He stumbles out of the pile and right into a right hook, with a muffler in his hand. from Blue Dazzler.

Winner: Blue Dazzler


As the battling continues one has to wonder where Skull is. We see him sneaking into Amazing Headquarters. What could he be up to? It must be important for him to leave his Killers Four on their own and not oversee the hopeful defeat of The Crime Stoppers.


Sunman vs The Freeze

This fight went hot and cold. Some intense action and near defeats then a stretch of moves and counters that say neither fighter able to move forward much. At one point Sunman ran toward The Freeze who froze the ground in front of him. Sunman lost his footing and slid into a pile of discarded toilets. The Freeze started to laugh which cost her the advantage. Eventually Sunman was too much as he wore The Freeze down and melted her hopes of victory.

Winner: Sunman


With the fight over The Crime Stoppers make sure Killers Four are secured so they cannot make an escape. Then they free Cosmic Woman. After making sure she is ok they start looking around for Skull. Then they get an alert from the police that there has been a theft at Amazing Headquarters and reports are that it was Skull. The four rush off to deal with this.


When they arrive what they see in the courtyard is Buster dribbling a soccer ball in place. Speedster is the first one to go toward him. As he does The Trapper, seemingly freed from jail by Skull, comes out toward him. Speedster pivots. Then Buster kicks his ball and it soars straight for The Trapper and smashes him in his face. The Trapper falls backward and is pretty much out of it. Blue Dazzler grabs The Trapper and places him in restraints.


Speedster: Why? Why did you do that Buster?

Buster: Well, you see, I have um been feeling bad about how I turned on you and The Crime Stoppers after what you did for me. I was worried he would hurt you so I had to stop him. I know it does not make up for what I did but hopefully one day I can be given a second chance.

Sunman: You can start right now by telling us what Skull took and where he is.

Buster: I do not know. I really wish I did. He told The Trapper and I to wait here for the Killers Four. But I now see it was all a plan to leave us behind. I am not sure if he knew you had beaten the Killers Four and would capture us or if he really thought they would win.


Just then a limo pulls up and after the chauffeur opens the back door out walk two men in expensive suits. They walk up to The Crime Stoppers.


Mark O'Brian: Hello heroes. I am Mark O'Brian, VP of Amazing and this of course is Geff Bozo, the founder and CEO of Amazing. Were you able to take possession of our stolen property?

Sunman: I am afraid not. Skull was already gone with it when we arrived. What exactly did he steal?

Mark O'Brian: I am sorry. We cannot discuss that. It is a prototype, and we cannot share the information at this time.

Blue Dazzler: Well, if he has it your secret is already out and he might sell it to competition. Not knowing what we are looking for will make it harder for us to retrieve it.


It appeared that Mark O'Brian was about to say something when Geff put his hand on Mark's shoulder. When Mark looked back at Geff, Geff nodded.


Mark O'Brian: Fine. It was a prototype for a package transporter. It breaks down the molecules and sends them to where the package is to be delivered and reforms. It would make deliveries happen almost instantly.

Speedster: So, what, Skull is going into the delivery business?

Cosmic Woman: I doubt it. He will probably sell the technology.

Mark O'Brian: Just one thing wrong with that. While we built a prototype it is not functioning correctly yet. We are still a year, maybe more, from being able to have it up and running correctly. In our tests the items broke down into molecules and disappeared. They did not reform on the device. They did not show up where they were supposed to reform. It is pretty much useless right now.

Sunman: I do wonder what his plan is. I am sure he knows it is not working yet. Even if he could figure out the issue and fix it, why would he bother? It seems a lot to go thru just to sell it.

Blue Dazzler: He could probably make a lot of money from it.

Sunman: Yes, but it would take some time before he sees that. It just does not seem worth his time and energy.

Cosmic Woman: Well, we can ask him about it once we find him.

Mark O'Brian: Well, I hope it is sooner rather than later. We have put a lot of time and money into its development, and we want the prototype back to finish it and make our profit from it. If you need anything that will help in that endeavor let us know. We must go now.


He turned around and walked off with Geff Bozo into the Headquarters. The Crime Stoppers grab The Trapper and head off to turn him over to the authorities. For now, their business with the Killers Four has concluded. Skull is still on the loose but all in all it was a good day.




Where did Skull go? What does he want with the prototype? Do not worry loyal readers, this is not the end for The Crime Stoppers and Skull. Be on the lookout for their future adventures in a 4-issue mini-series titles The Crime Stoppers: Speggtacular. That will be followed with a one shot, limited edition titled Skull: Special Delivery

Thank you as always. Hmm, have you been hacking my computer. You have kind of touched on something that I have going on in my next couple projects. I am about halfway done with both. Just have some matches/fights to roll out and fill out some of the story. Much like this project I am really having fun with the other two. Where I go from there is still a mystery, but I am in no rush.

Well this part of the journey has come to an end. It is a bit different from my original idea. I was going to do wrestlers as superheroes and ended up doing superheroes that wrestle when they battle. I'd like to thank everyone that looked in and followed along. Special shoutout to WTIC Crimson Cross and TTX for their kind words. Got to give a thanks to the dice who were not too mean this time. They allowed me to go do what I wanted. For the most part. When they didn't, like the very first fight, I just pivoted and found another way to get where I wanted to be. As I said earlier, I have two more things in this universe I am working on and I am about half way done with them. They should be fun like this one was. A nice surprise or two I have in there. Not sure where I ultimately will land. Then again I was not sure when I was doing these 12 issues. Seriously. I was 2 or 3 in before I started really forming where I was headed. In the end I was happy and that is all I can ask of the process.
