*The show opens with Teddy Long on camera. Teddy welcomes wrestling fans to this historic first show of the A.W.A. Teddy explains that the A.W.A home office will be here in Des Moines, Iowa. And that tonight live on PPV the first A.W.A World Heavyweight Champion will be crowned. Teddy then sends it to the A.W.A press booth.

*From the A.W.A press booth Lance Russell and Gordon Solie are standing by.

*Gordon Solie welcomes the fans and gives a rundown of the eight men that will wrestle tonight to be crowned AWA World Heavyweight Champion.

*Lance Russell tells the fans about an eight-man tag team match tonight that will see Jimmy Snuka, Ronnie Garvin, Art Thomas, and Curt Hennig vs. Ox Baker, Steve Regal, Boris Zhukov, and Ken Patera. Lance then sends the action to the ring for ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta

1.) First Round Match: Bob Backlund** vs. Baron Von Raschke* with Nikita Breznikov 1/30
*Baron Von Raschke wins by tap out at 8:58 with Brain Claw

*After the match Lance Russell interviews Raschke and Breznikov in the press booth.
-Nikita Breznikov says during the interview that Bob Backlund is weak like every American that he has ever come into contact with. 
-Baron Von Raschke says that he will run through this tournament and be the first AWA World Heavyweight Champion.

*Lance Russell then calls Bob Backlund over to the press booth.
-Bob Backlund shares his disappointment with himself for getting out of position and getting caught in that brain claw. He says he will be back.

2.) First Round Match: Larry Hennig* vs. Adrian Adonis* with Sherri Martel 1/30
*Larry Hennig wins by pin at 2:42 with pile driver

*Lance Russell talks about Tag Wars for the AWA World Tag Team titles that will happen in a few shows.

*Gordon Solie is backstage with Bobby Heenan.
-Bobby Heenan talks about how great Nick Bockwinkel is as a wrestler and human being. Heenan tells Solie that he has put together a new family and he has high hopes of running the AWA.
-The Destroyer interrupts and tells Heenan that Bockwinkel won't get by him
-From out of nowhere Bobby Duncam attacks The Destroyer for behind with a chair. Duncam hits Destoyer multiple over the head before AWA staff get in between them.

3.) First Round Match: The Destroyer** vs. Nick Bockwinkel* with Bobby Heenan 1/30
*Nick Bockwinkel wins by tap out at 0:39 with Bockwinkel sleeper

*Teddy Long stops Bobby Heenan as he walks into the backstage area. He tells Heenan the Bobby Duncam will be fined $10,000 for his attack on The Destroy and tells Heenan he will also be fined $10,000 as well
*Bobby Heenan yells at Teddy Long and follows him out of camera shot.

4.) First Round Match: Edouardo Carpentier* vs. Larry Zbyszko 1/30
*Larry Zdyszko wins by pin at 0:33 with pile driver

*Lance Russell calls Larry Zbyszko over to the press booth for an interview.
-Larry Zbyszko talks about wanting to be the top guy and not caring who he steps on to get there.

*The Destroyer interrupts Larry Zbyszko and demands a match with Bobby Duncam
-Teddy Long quickly comes out and tells The Destroy (who is bleed though is mask) that he is in no condition to fight again tonight. But AWA is in St. Louis for a show at The Chase and he will face Bobby Duncam in the main event of the show.

***Intermission***

5.) Semi Finals: Larry Hennig*** vs. Baron Von Raschke*** with Nikita Breznikov 1/45
*Larry Hennig wins by DQ at 2:27 after Raschke hits Hennig with the steel steps during an outside of the ring brawl

*Bobby Heenan joins Lance Russell and Goron Solie in the press booth and asks Larry Zbyszko to join him. Larry comes out to join Heenan
-Bobby Heenan offers Zbyszko $10,000 to lay down for Bockwinkel.
-Larry Zbyszko laughs at the offer and walks to the ring for his match

6.) Larry Zbyszko* vs. Nick Bockwinkel with Bobby Heenan 1/45
*Nick Bockwinkel wins by DQ at 3:47 after Larry suplexs him though a ring side table.

*After the match a disappoint Larry Zbyszko joins Lance Russell in the press booth.
-Larry says $10,000 isn't worth taking a dive.
-While Larry is talking Ray Stevens and Bobby Duncam attacks him from behind.
-The Destroyer runs from the locker room (still wearing a bloody mask) with a chair and quickly runs off Stevens and Duncam.
-The Destroyer offers Zbyszko a hand, but he refuses to shake his hand and leaves.

7.) Jimmy Snuka, Ronnie Garvin, Art Thomas, and Curt Hennig vs. Ox Baker*, Steve Regal, Boris Zhukov, and Ken Patera 1/60
*Ox Baker, Steve Regal, Boris Zhukov, and Ken Patera win by DQ at 9:10. During a brawl outside the ring Jimmy Snuka hit Steve Regal with a chair.

8.) AWA World Heavyweight Championship: Larry Hennig**** vs. Nick Bockwinkel*** with Bobby Heenan 1/NL
*Nick Bockwinkel wins by tap out at 3:01 with figure four leg lock
*Nick Bockwinkel is the first AWA World Heavyweight Champion
*Ray Stevens, Bobby Duncam, and Ken Patera join Nick Bockwinkel and Bobby Heenan in the ring to celebrate the victory.

*AWA World Heavyweight Champion is spotted in the arena by fans before the show. He is unwilling to talk with anyone in the arena.

*Jim Brunzell wins by pin at 1:35 with high flying dropkick

2.) Gene Ligon* vs. Ox Baker* 1/20
*Gene Ligon wins by DQ at 0:00 after Ox Baker attacks him before the bell with a chair.
-Ox Baker keeps the beating going even after the DQ loss.
-Jim Brunzell runs for the locker with a chair also and Ox leaves the ring.
-Ox Baker grabs the ring side microphone and tells Jim Brunzell he will regret sticking his noise in Ox Baker's business.

3.) Larry Hennig*** & Curt Hennig vs. Boris Zhukov* & Alexis Smirnoff with Nikita Breznikov 1/30
*Boris Zhukov & Alexis Smirnoff win by count out at 11:12 after Larry Hennig appears to have twisted his ankle after being thrown out of the ring.

4.) Art Thomas vs. Larry Zbyszko* 1/30
*Larry Zbyszko wins by pin at 2:22 with spinning back kick
-Larry Zbyszko grabs the house microphone. He tells the AWA fans and the AWA locker room that he's out for himself and no one else. That he is the gray area in the AWA. He's not here to be a good guy or bad guy. He is only in the AWA to be the World Heavyweight Champion. He then sends a warning to Ray Stevens and Bobby Duncam for jumping him last card in Des Moines. He says there will be a day that there will be pay back.

5.) Bob Backlund vs. Baron Von Raschke* with Nikita Breznikov 1/30
*Bob Backlund wins by pin at 2:41 with delayed vertical suplex
-Nikita Breznikov and Raschke throw a fit in the ring after the loss yelling treats to Backlund.
-Bob Backlund yells we are 1-1 and he is up for a third match anytime.

*Nick Bockwinkel sits at the timekeepers table for the main event.

6. The Destroyer, Yukon Eric**, and Jerry Blackwell vs. Ken Patera, Bobby Duncam, and Ray Stevens with Bobby Heenan 1/60
*Ken Patera, Bobby Duncam, and Ray Stevens win by pin at 2:42 after Duncam hits Eric with two bulldogs for the pinfall victory.
-Bobby Heenan's men attacked their opponents before the match causing a level 3 start for his team.
-After the match Bobby Duncam mocks The Destroyer.
-Both teams make treats to each other causing AWA staff to ask local Waterloo police to get in between both teams.

-This was a warmup match for Dick The Bruiser and The Crusher who are booked to be in "Tag Wars" in Chicago at card 7 which will crown the first AWA World Tag Team Champions.

2.) Jimmy Snuka vs. Kenny Jay** 1/20
*Jimmy Snuka wins by pin at 4:07 with superfly leap
-Jimmy Snuka was over big time with the Davenport crowd. He spent extra time after the match to take photos with the fans.

*Before the start of the of the next match Larry Hennig walks to the ring with crutches and his ankle wrapped.
-Larry grabs the house mic and informs the crowd that tonight he will not be in his booked tag team match due to being hurt last card. Larry says that Jim Brunzell will be filling in for him.
-Larry Hennig sits at the timekeeper's table.

3.) Jim Brunzell & Curt Hennig* vs. Boris Zhukov* & Alexis Smirnoff with Nikita Breznikov 1/30
*Boris Zhukov & Alexis Smirnoff win by DQ at 9:07
-Curt Hennig is DQ'ed after he hits Alexis Smirnoff with a crutch outside the ring after Smirnoff attacks Larry Hennig.
-After DQ the Russia team quickly leaves the ring side area.
-Curt Hennig gets on the house microphone to challenge the Russia to come back and fight.
-The crowd starts to chant U.S.A

4.) Edouardo Carpentier* vs. Larry Zbyszko* 1/30
*Edouardo Carpentier wins by pin at 4:44 with flying somersault
-With this win Edouardo Carpentier is now 1-1 vs. Larry Zbyszko. He lost their first match 7/19 in 33 seconds.
-After Carpentier leaves the ring, a down Larry Zbyszko is attacked by Ken Patera and Ray Steven.
-Before the attack can get out of hand Edouardo Carpentier comes back to the ring with chair in hand which causes Patera and Steven to quickly leave the ring and go back to the locker room.
-Edouardo offers to help Zbyszko up. But Zbyszko yells at him says he didn't ask for his help and then rolls out of the ring.

5.) Yukon Eric* & Jerry Blackwell* vs. Ray Stevens* & Ken Patera with Bobby Heenan 1/30
*Ray Stevens & Ken Patera win by tap out at 9:43
-The match ends after Yukon Eric taps out to Ken Patera's full nelson swing
-This is the second time in two days Yukon Eric has taken the loss for his team against members of the Heenan Family.
-Larry Zbyszko runs to the ring with a chair and hits Ray Stevens in the back.
-Ray Stevens, Ken Patera, and Bobby Heenan retreat to the locker room.

6.) Bob Backlund* vs. Baron Von Raschke* with Nikita Breznikov 1/60
*Bob Backlund wins by DQ at 6:51
-The match is called off after Baron Von Raschke repeatedly hits Backlund with a chair outside the ring.
-After the DQ Baron stomps on a down Backlund until AWA staff come out to pull him away.
-Bob Backlund is now 2-1 vs. Baron Von Raschke
-Teddy Long puts out a statement on the AWA social media pages and what has happened at tonight's house show in Davenport. And that Bob Backlund will face Baron Von Raschke in Chicago at card 7.

*The show opens with AWA Commissioner Teddy Long addressing the Houston crowd. He tells them that the AWA will be running shows in Texas and tonight will crown an AWA Texas Heavyweight Champion. He tells the crowd that most of the wrestlers that they will see tonight are on loan from other promotions.

1.) Sam Houston vs. Wild Bill White 1/20
*Wild Bill White wins by DQ at 2:13
-The match ends after Sam Houston hits Bill White with a chair outside the ring.
-Sam Houston protest the outcome to Teddy Long telling him that chair shots are legal in Texas while outside the ring.
-Teddy Long tells Sam Houston that this match was under AWA rules not Texas rules. And that the rules were told to everyone in the locker room.

2.) Brad Batten* & Bart Batten (NWA:CSW) vs. Bill Irwin & Scott Irwin* 1/30
*Bill Irwin & Scott Irwin win by pin at 2:01
-The match ends after Bill Irwin does a throat drop on the ropes and pin to Brad Batten.

-This was a warmup match for the Vachon's who will be in the "Tag Wars Tournament" for the AWA World Tag Team Championship during card 7 in Chicago.

*Ronnie Garvin wins by pin at 2:50 with Hands of Stone punch.

-Match ends after Curt Hennig does a Hennig Plex on Alexis Smirnoff for the pinfall.
-Curt Hennig is pumped up after the match. He starts yelling and pointing at the Russia demanding other match. He says that he isn't done with them yet.
-Larry Hennig grabs a house microphone and tells the fans that he was just informed by phone from Teddy Long that he will get a AWA World Heavyweight title match at AWA's "Wrestle Rock" at card 20 from Kansas City. He says that his ankle hurts but he will be ready to take the title from Nick Bockwinkel.
-The news of the PPV and World Title match is put out on all of AWA's social media platforms.

6) Edouardo Carpentier** vs. Larry Zbyszko** 1/60
*Larry Zbyszko wins by pin at 12:52 with a piledriver
-This is the third and last match between these two men. Larry Zbyszko wins the serious 2 to 1
-Larry Zbyszko takes the house microphone. He says that it doesn't matter to him who is World Champion he wants next. He also says that Ray Stevens and himself still have a fight coming that will happen.
-Edouardo Carpentier put a message out on social media that he will be leaving the AWA to head to England to wrestle in the World Of Sports.

*The show opens with Teddy Long standing in the ring. He tells the fans at The Chase and those watching on Facebook that AWA wanted to treat our fans for this special on Facebook. He reminds the fans to tune into card 7 for "Tags Wars" for the AWA World Tag Team Championship. Teddy Long then gives the microphone to Gary Michael Cappetta.

1) Keith Steinborn** vs. Ox Baker* 1/10
*Ox Baker wins by referee stoppage at 3:55 after a heart punch
-Keith Steinborn was having trouble breathing after the heart punch and had to be taken to the hospital right away.
-Ox Baker after the stoppage looks into the camera and says Jim Brunzell is next.
-Note: Jim Brunzell had to chase off Ox Baker with a chair at card 2 for Waterloo after Ox was beating on Gene Ligon their match was declared at DQ win for Ligon 0:00

*Lance Russell is standing by with Bobby Heenan.
-Bobby Heenan cuts a promo on his Heenan Family. He says that at card 7 the Blackjacks will be the World Tag Team Champions. He also says that in the main event tonight Bobby Duncum will defeat The Destroyer and maybe even take him out for good.

-Nikita Breznikov joins Lance Russell after the match. He tells Russell that Curt Hennig has become a problem for them over the last week at the house shows. He says they already injured Larry Hennig (card 2) and will take out Curt too.

-The match ends after Frogman taps out to Goodnight Irene
-Sherri Martel and Adrian Adonis join Lance Russell. Adrian talks about heading to Texas for his next two matches. He says he'll be beating up on Art Thomas and Gene Ligon while he is there.
-Sherri Martel says that while there they might even beat up a Von Erich.

-The match ends with a superfly leap and pin from Jimmy Snuka

*Backstage Gordon Solie is standing next to The Destroyer
-The Destroy talks about having his chance at the World Title taken from him because of Bobby Duncum. He talks about getting payback tonight in St. Louis.
-While The Destroyer is talking Bobby Duncum attacks him from behind with a chair. After stomping The Destroyer while he was down Duncum picks him up and takes him to the ring.
-Bobby Duncum starts match on Level 3 Offense.

*The show opens with Teddy Long sitting in the AWA sports booth. Teddy Long welcomes the fans to AWA "Tag Wars". He says that tonight the AWA will crown there first World Tag Team Champion. Teddy informs the fans that AWA will be in St. Paul, MN and we will crown an AWA International Champion at card 13. Teddy sends it to the AWA press booth.

*Lance Russell and Gordon Solie are in the press booth. Lance gives a rundown of the teams in the tournament. Gordon then talks about the interviews that are to come tonight before sending it to the ring to Gary Michael Cappetta.

1) Tag Wars First Round: Stan Lane** & Steve Keirn vs. Moondog Rex* & Moondog Spot 1/30
*Stan Lane & Steve Keirn win by pin at 10:31
-Steve Keirn does fabulous Forearm and pins Moondog Spot
-Lane and Keirn leave the ring quickly due to the Moondog's throwing chairs in the ring after the match.

*Bill Apter is in the AWA sports booth with Larry Zbyzsko.
-Larry talks about wanting to be World Heavyweight title. He says that he still has some payback to get on Ray Stevens too.

-Kerry talks to Bill about his upcoming matches. He says his brothers and him will face Black Bart, Ron Bass, and Terry Funk tomorrow. And that he will face Terry Funk in a non-title match from Dallas at card 12.
-Bill ask Kerry if he will be in the International title tournament at card 13.
-Kerry says no because he views the Texas title as being bigger than the International title. He says he also wants a shot at Nick Bockwinkel and the AWA World Championship.

-The match ends after the two teams' brawl into the crowd and the referee has to call an end to the match.

*Bill Apter is in the AWA Sports Booth with AWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Bockwinkel.
-Nick talks about his match with Larry Hennig in Kansas City for Wrestle Rock. He says that Larry will have two bad ankles after their match.
-Bill asked Nick about upcoming matches next week.
-Nick Bockwinkel says at card 9 he has a non-title match with The Crusher in Milwaukee and a tag match vs. Dick The Bruiser and The Crusher at card 10 from Green Bay. He says he plans on embarrassing The Crusher in his hometown of Milwaukee.

-Teddy Long says that he is going sort this championship issue of only having one team for the finals out by the end of the next match.
-After Teddy leaves Gordon talks about the next match between Backlund and Raschke. He says Backlund lost last week but beat Raschke twice this week at house shows.

-Nikita hit Backlund with a roll of quarters while the referee is getting Raschke away from the ropes. Backlund is knocked out from the blow.
-After the match Raschke comes out of the ring to put the boots to Backlund. But Curt Hennig runs out from the locker room with a chair to chase Raschke off.

8) AWA World Tag Team Championship Final: Teddy Long comes to the ring and asks The Blackjacks and Bobby Heenan to join him. After the team enters the ring Teddy Long informs the crowd that since The Blackjacks are the only time left in the tournament, they are the new AWA World Tag Team Champions.
-The Blackjacks and Bobby Heenan celebrate. Nick Baockwinkel joins them, and they have a moment of the three of them holding up their belts as the card comes to an end.

-The match ends after Yukon Eric overhead presses Kaissie though the timekeepers table at ring side.

-Adrian Adonis wins by tap out at 6:38
-The match ends after Art Thomas taps out to Goodnite Irene.

*During intermission a local College Station social media reporter sees Bobby Duncum seating in the stands.
-The report tries to get a word with Duncum but is told to "blow off" by Duncum.

-Sam Houston pins Joel Deaton after a bulldog.

*Jerry Blackwell wins by pin at 6:58
-Joe Leduc is beaten after Jerry Blackwell's BIG SPLASH.
-After the match Yukon Eric comes to the ring to join Jerry Blackwell and the two entertain the crowd together.

6) (AWA Texas) Kerry Von Erich & Kevin Von Erich*** & David Von Erich vs. Terry Funk & Ron Bass* & Black Bart with Gary Hart 1/60
*Terry Funk & Ron Bass & Black Bart win by DQ at 6:20
-Kevin Von Erich is DQ'ed after a brawl outside the ring where he though a chair at Ron Bass.
-The two team brawl for a little bit after the match. But Funk, Bass, and Bart retreat to the locker room.
-Kerry Von Erich takes the ring side microphone and thanks the crowd for coming out.
-While Kerry is talking Bobby Duncum comes to the ring. He takes the microphone from Kerry. He tells Kerry that last card he talked about facing AWA World Champion Nick Bockwinkel. Bobby says that Nick called him at his home in Austin and ask him to give Kerry a message. Bobby Duncum then slaps Kerry across the face and then quickly leaves the ring.
-David and Kevin look like they might go after Duncum, but Kerry holds them back. Kerry picks up the microphone and says "Nick Bockwinkel's message is that he is going to run away just like you did Duncum?"
-The Von Erich's thank the crowd again before leaving the ring.

-The match ends after Chaz Taylor is counted out after Mad Dog Vachon slams his head into the ring post outside the ring.
-This is the second time that Chaz Taylor has had his head slammed into the ring post by Mad Dog Vachon and then counted out.
-Note: The first time Mad Dog Vachon slammed Chaz Taylor's head into the post was during card 7 from Chicago.
-Tugboat Taylor is furious after the match and attempts to attack Mad Dog Vachon but is cut off by AWA staff and hired security.
-Chaz Taylor is bleeding from the post slam and is taken to a local hospital for stitches.

2) Dick The Bruiser vs. Ray Stevens* with Bobby Heenan 1/30
*Dick The Bruiser win by pin at 4:21
-The match ends after Dick throws a huge right hand that knocks Stevens out and then covers him for the pinfall.

-The match ends after Curt Hennig does a running knee lift and pins Baron Von Raschke.
-After the match the two teams begin to brawl until AWA staff gets the teams under control.
-During the brawl Ronnie Garvin knocks out Nikita Breznikov with his hands of stone punch.

-Ox pins Brunzell after he delivers an elbow to the back on Brunzell's head.
-After the win Ox Baker stands over Brunzell and tells him to stay out of his business.
-Note: During card 2 Jim Brunzell saved Gene Ligon from a beating Ox Baker was giving to him.

-The match ends after Lane and Keirn do a double DDT on Chris Tolos and get the pinfall victory.

-The Crusher taps out to Nick Bockwinkel's figure four leglock.
-The crowd boos and yells insults at Bockwinkel and Heenan as they leave after the match.
-Dick The Bruiser comes to the ring and helps The Crusher to his feet. Dick raises The Crusher arm in the air to the delight of the crowd.
