Highlights from World Championship Wrestling- Ted Dibiase opened the show by demanding Gordon Solie to show clips of Buff Bagwell and George South's encounter from Macon. The replay was shown with Dibiase's commentary and Dibiase replaying a clip of South getting his head nearly taken off from a Bagwell clothesline three times. Dibiase then called George South from the back and GCW's lovable loser made his way to the broadcast podium. Dibiase told George South that he had a simple proposition for him: he would give him ten weeks and if South could win a match by pinfall or submission in those ten weeks he would give South $25,000. George accepted and discovered that the challenge starts this week in Augusta against Nikolai Volkoff.
- "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers gave an interview live from his "penthouse in Atlanta, GA" and told Gordon Solie via satellite that he has been training extensively for both his match with the Valiants and his GCW World Heavyweight Title match with Frank Gotch. He also discussed Jimmy Snuka's performance against Johnny Valiant and told Gordon that it was obvious that Snuka had sustained an injury from Johnny Valentine's "onslaught." Rogers demanded that Johnny Valentine be suspended for his actions and if he's not then the "Nature Boy" will take the law into his own hands.
- The Destroyer discussed his GCW National Heavyweight Title match with The Iron Sheik this week in Augusta. Destroyer said that he has seen Sheik run rampant over friends and over those that Destroyer has no respect for (Ted Dibiase). The Destroyer said he isn't afraid of the loaded boot and that he expects to stand in front of the TBS studio crowd next week as the first ever GCW National Heavyweight champion.
January 24th at the Richmond County Civic Center in Augusta, GA!- We crown the first ever GCW National Heavyweight champion in the main event as The Iron Sheik will do battle with The Destroyer. It's a two-out-of-three-falls affair and this one is sure to be a war with the bad blood between these two individuals. The question that no one is asking, but everyone is wondering: Will The Destroyer's tag team partner Red Bastien, who has bad blood with The Iron Sheik himself, end up being a factor in this one?
- The Road Warriors will surely be watching the GCW World Tag Team Title tournament semi-final match between The Valiant Brothers and Buddy Rogers & Jimmy Snuka. Snuka has not appeared to be at 100% since Johnny Valentine hit him with a flying kneedrop to the rib cage in Marietta, but "Superfly" is keeping quiet. The Valiants have charged that Buddy Rogers is too preoccupied with the GCW World Heavyweight Title and his rivalry with Johnny Valentine to focus on the Tag Team Titles. Are the Valiants right or Rogers make them the latest victim of the FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE?
- Two main event caliber matches as Bobo Brazil takes on Johnny Valentine and Harley Race does battle with Giant Baba. Bobo has said that he dislikes the outlaw mentality that Johnny Valentine has been carrying since the beginning of GCW and he wants to put an end to it in Augusta! Frank Gotch's training partner Giant Baba and Harley Race were both favored to win the GCW World Heavyweight Title, but both have been bumped from competition and are looking to get back in the title picture. Will Baba be able to survive Harley Race's deadly PILEDRIVER?
- In other action Red Bastien will partner up with Ilio Dipaolo to take on Greg Valentine and "The Barber to the Stars" Brutus Beefcake. Bob Orton, Sr. and "Iron" Mike Dibiase will enter into tag team battle with the Canadian connection of Killer Kowalski and Dewey Robertson. "Cowboy" Dick Hutton has his re-match with Buddy Rose and it's this weekend! Will Rose be able to replicate his success in Rome or will the cowboy make Rose tap? Also, George South begins his $25,000 challenge with a match against Nikolai Volkoff!

Ilio and Red Bastien as a tag team is cool sounding, can't wait to see how that tandem turns out...
The Iron Sheik vs. The Destroyer for your GCW National Heavyweight Championship is the match to watch for, that should be a barnburner!
GCW is looking really good...

Really nice start. Are you planning to add the newer guys at the end of your year (52 cards)? Graymar I'll be adding and subtracting guys throughout the year with the first infusion of talent coming around Fire on the Mountain, my first supercard. That should be taking place a little over halfway through the year. I'm not setting any requirements on who can enter at any given time so there's a chance you could see me introduce Jim Duggan and One Man Gang around the same time. Whatever makes the most sense in terms of booking. Hey, thanks for the postive comments, guys. GCW has been a blast thus far.

Card #004 Richmond County Civic Center Augusta, GA 1/24/09
1. $25,000 Challenge: Nikolai Volkoff w/ Nikita Breznikov defeated George South after a running stomp. The challenge begins for George South taking on the big Russian and South, at times, looked like he might just be up to the task. Volkoff handed out punishment and threw the lovable loser all around the ring, but South refused to give up. Kicking out of Volkoff's finisher and, toward the end of the match, even taking control with some tough kicks to the big man's head. A big shove that sent George to the mat, however, set up Volkoff's running stomp and that marked the end for South. The challenge continues next week in Columbus as South faces Ted Dibiase's bodyguard, Virgil.
2. Red Bastien & Ilio Dipaolo defeated Greg Valentine & Brutus Beefcake when Dipaolo pinned Beefcake after an AIRPLANE SPIN. With Bastien's regular tag team partner The Destroyer competing for the GCW National Heavyweight Title later in the night, Bastien found a "non-native who appreciates all the good ole USA has to offer" in Dipaolo. The two worked well together has a team with frequent tags, great tag chemistry, and never allowing the opposing team to gain an advantage. At the end of the contest Beefcake appeared to have gained the upper hand on Dipaolo by shoving him into a corner of the ring and landing some nasty punches. However, Dipaolo landed a kick right to the gut and picked up Beefcake for the AIRPLANE SPIN. That was all she wrote!
3. "Playboy" Buddy Rose w/ Cherie Dupre defeated "Cowboy" Dick Hutton after a BOMBS AWAY knee drop. Hutton started the match by not only some stiff punches to Rose's forehead, but by exploiting Rose's weaknesses on the mat. The Cowboy not only seemed to be wrestling circles around Buddy, but proving that Rose's victory in Rome was just a fluke. Cherie Dupre started bad mouthing Hutton and, at first, Dick seemed to take it in stride. However, as the match progressed Hutton could no longer take it and he went to the ropes and started jawing with Dupre. This allowed Rose to take advantage with a well placed low blow and nail his BOMBS AWAY knee drop to defeat Hutton for the second consecutive time! After the match, Rose's ally Gorgeous George hit the ring and the two men put the boots to Hutton. George held Hutton by his arms while Rose applied lipstick followed by Cherie Dupre giving Hutton a powder job. Eventually Hutton's ally, The Sandman, hit the ring with his Singapore cane and all three of the assailants got out of Dodge! This one has just begun, folks!
4. Bob Orton, Sr. and "Iron" Mike Dibiase defeated Killer Kowalski & Dewey Robertson when Orton pinned Kowalski after a PILEDRIVER. Orton and Dibiase debuted in an impressive way in Macon disposing of Larry Sharpe & Johnny Rodz in short order and the impression they are leaving on GCW fan and reporter alike did not change after this one! Both men took punishment from Kowalski and his tag team partner Robertson, but neither man would give in! Kowalski even landed his CLAW HOLD on "Iron" Mike, but Dibiase found a way to get his foot on the rope! The conclusion of the match saw Orton hit the devastating PILEDRIVER twice on the big man before getting the pinfall!
5. Harley Race defeated Giant Baba after a falling headbutt. Two favorites for the GCW World Heavyweight Title tournament meet after both have been eliminated from competition. Baba seemed like he might have an advantage that Race couldn't conquer--size--but Race found a way to perfectly mix match and his brawling and wrestling abilities to find a way to victory. The whole Civic Center seemed to be shocked when Race picked up the favorite son of Japan for the PILEDRIVER and even more shocked when Baba kicked out of it! The PILEDRIVER, however, seemed to take much out of Baba after a falling headbutt put him down for the count.
6. Johnny Valentine defeated Bobo Brazil after an ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER. Bobo came into the match insisting that he would reform Johnny Valentine with a couple of COCO BUTTS, however when those were hit it seemed to motivate Valentine all the more to completely obliterate Bobo. Brazil kept trying to fight his way out of the corner that Valentine had him, however, he was no match for the motivated man who seems to have a killer's instinct running through him. After three ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHERS Valentine pinned his opponent easily. A huge announcement regarding Valentine will be made on World Championship Wrestling!
7. GCW World Tag Team Title Tournament, Semi-Finals: The Valiant Brothers defeated "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers and "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka via DQ when Rogers refused to let go of the FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE. With Johnny Valiant already holding a singles victory over Snuka last week in Macon, Superfly looked motivated--and more important, healthy--to not allow another pinfall to occur. His tag team partner, Rogers, even looked like he was focused for the first time that we can remember on something other than Johnny Valentine or the GCW World Heavyweight Title. However, the Valiants as a team kept trying to exploit Snuka's ribcage assuming that even though he seemed find those ribs may still be tender. This did make Rogers happy! Once Snuka made the tag to Rogers, Buddy landed several nasty punches to the head of Jimmy Valiant and then locked him in the FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE!! Valiant quickly made his way to the ropes, but Rogers looked a man possessed and refused to let go! The referee had to call for the bell and send the Valiants to the finals to face the Road Warriors next week! After the match, Jimmy Snuka yelled at Rogers and even shoved him once. The "Nature Boy" seemed apologetic though Snuka would not listen to him at this point.
8. GCW National Heavyweight Title Tournament, Finals (2/3 Falls): The Iron Sheik w/ Nikita Breznikov defeated The Destroyer two falls to zero to become the first ever GCW National Heavyweight champion! The fans were solidly behind The Destroyer in this one screaming "USA! USA! USA!" at every possible turn in the match. The Shiek, though, had a couple of advantages. One, Nikita Breznikov having no problem getting himself involved in the match and two the loaded boot which has helped him at every point in the tournament. After getting Destroyer to give in to the CAMEL CLUTCH in the first fall, it seemed that Sheik would have a tougher time beating the masked man the second time around. Destroyer went to work on Sheik's legs, setting him for the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK, but could never find the advantage he needed to bring home the gold. Sheik hit a sidewinder suplex and pinned Destroyer for the second fall and the GCW National Heavyweight Title!

Excellent Event!
I was rooting for the Destroyer to win the National Title but the Iron Sheik came out on top...
Glad to see the tag team of Red Bastien and Ilio DiPaolo winning the match and could we see these two remain a tag team and challenge for the gold?

Highlights from World Championship Wrestling- Gordon Solie started the show with the bombshell announcement that on February 14th at the Fort Hill School Gymnasium, "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers and Johnny Valentine will go one-on-one for the first time since their tournament match in Rome, GA! Solie also said that should Rogers be the GCW World Heavyweight champion this match will be a non-title bout.
- The GCW Road Crew caught up with Frank Gotch in his personal training facility in Humboldt, Iowa. Gotch said that he while he feels Buddy Rogers is a worthy opponent and a wrestler of the highest caliber, he does not feel that Rogers can possibly beat for the World Heavyweight Title in Atlanta. Gotch repeated the fact that he was the greatest proven athlete in GCW and his TOEHOLD has been known to make many "tougher men than Rogers" submit.
- Ilio Dipaolo was complimented by Gordon Solie for his impressive tag team debut with Red Bastien this past weekend in Augusta. Dipaolo said he appreciated Gordon's kind words and that he can't wait to make an impact. Gordon asked him about his upcoming match in Columbus with Ted Dibiase and Dipaolo said that he detests people like Dibiase who "exploit the possibilities of America."
- The Valiant Brothers invited GCW cameras into their locker room and showed off the "$100,000 champagne" and celebratory t-shirts that read "FIRST EVER GCW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS."
January 31st at the Columbus Municipal Auditorium!- The main event sees The Road Warriors taking on the Valiant Brothers for the GCW World Tag Team Titles. The Road Warriors have been rather quiet while the Valiants have been flaunting themselves all over GCW television the past couple of weeks. On World Championship Wrestling we saw that the Valiants had already bought champagne and t-shirts for their celebration. The Road Warriors have been dominant and the Valiants have yet to pin either team that they have faced in the tournament; is there anyway the Valiants overconfidence will prove to be truth against the Road Warriors?
- Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka walked away from Buddy Rogers in Augusta and has said that he wants to be "on his own for the time being." He has signed a match with the man who claims he had Frank Gotch "down for the count": Nick Bockwinkel. Bock will prove to be no easy task for "Superfly". Also in singles action will be Killer Kowalski and Bob Orton, Sr. Kowalski has said that Orton can not pin him without his "little lackey" Mike Dibiase. Is it true? Or will Orton nail Kowalski with another PILEDRIVER and pin him for the second consecutive time?
- Tag team warfare will be the theme of the night as two HUGE tag team matches will be taking place! Red Bastien and The Destroyer step into the ring with Nikolai Volkoff and GCW National Heavyweight champion The Iron Sheik! Sheik holds victories over both Bastien and Destroyer and the loaded boot was no minor factor in either victory. Bastien & Destroyer are both looking for revenge and Sheik & Volkoff both love to dish out punishment to Americans! This one will be WILD. Also, Gorgeous George & "Playboy" Buddy Rose assaulted Dick Hutton after Rose's victory in Augusta. What they did not consider was that The Sandman & Dick Hutton as a team could be more than they can handle! It's an unlikely friendship, the college wrestler and his beer drinking, Singapore cane swinging partner, but it's also a friendship I wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of!
- Plus: the $25,000 Challenge continues with George South taking on Virgil! Ox Baker battles the big man King Kong Bundy! Ted Dibiase goes one-on-one with Ilio Dipaolo!
You do not want to miss GCW wrestling action at the Columbus Municipal Auditorium!!!

Excellent Event! I was rooting for the Destroyer to win the National Title but the Iron Sheik came out on top... Glad to see the tag team of Red Bastien and Ilio DiPaolo winning the match and could we see these two remain a tag team and challenge for the gold? According to certain sources at Georgia Championship Wrestling, Red Bastien's regular tag team partner The Destroyer may have other things on his plate soon. So if I were to guess it would be no surprise to me to see Dipaolo and Bastien becoming a regular team.

Card #005 Columbus Municipal Auditorium Columbus, GA 1/31/09
1. $25,000 Challenge: Virgil defeated George South via count-out after South was knocked out of the ring by a left-jab and could not respond to the count. South seemed to have an opponent that he could hang with in Virgil, at least during the early stages of this encounter. However, as time went on, Virgil's flurry of jabs to the head seemd to gain him the upperhand and, eventually, a big left jab to the jaw sent South over the top rope and to the arena floor. This is the most embarassing loss for George South thus far.
2. Ox Baker defeated King Kong Bundy after the HEART PUNCH. Two big men clashed in this one! No one was expecting a preview of Gotch/Rogers, but this one was an all out brawl! Baker kept trying to make the big man immobile with vicious kicks to the knee, but Bundy would charge Ox like a mad cattle and make him feel the force of all 446 pounds of Bundy. In the end, though, Ox Baker's big HEART PUNCH sent the big man to the mat and gave Baker the victory. EMTs had to carry Bundy away after the match.
3. The Sandman & Dick Hutton defeated Gorgeous George & "Playboy" Buddy Rose when Sandman pinned Rose after a SINGAPORE CANE shot. Hutton and Sandman despite being an odd couple pairing were on fire against George and Rose tonight! Hutton was seeking revenge after the post-match display last week in Augusta and, boy, did he get it! After stretching George for awhile, Hutton tossed "The Gorgeous One" into his tag team partner which the referee declared an official tag! The bad blood between Dick and Buddy was boiling tonight as Hutton outwrestled Rose in all four corners of the ring. Sandman continually made inappropriate gestures at Cherie Dupre which she was attempting to disregard. Sandman made an entry into the ring and cracked Rose with his SINGAPORE CANE which gave the odd couple the victory!
4. "The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase w/ Virgil defeated Ilio Dipaolo after a MILLION DOLLAR DREAM. Dipaolo was making his singles debut after one of the most talked about tag debuts in our short history. Trying to look for some kind of opening, Dipaolo made several mistakes that could not be covered for. Dibiase locked on his MILLION DOLLAR DREAM and Ilio fell right to sleep. After the match, Virgil and Dibiase shoved $100 bills down Dipaolo's throat and gave him the boots.
5. Killer Kowlaski defeated Bob Orton, Sr. via the CLAW HOLD. Orton, Sr. held at least the psychological advantage over Kowalski in this one having pinned the Killer last week in tag team action. Orton started out his singles debut well, mixing up his offense with a mix of brawling and technical wrestling. However, Killer proved to be too potent an offensive weapon and Orton, Sr. was eventually unable to mount an adequate defense to stop him. The CLAW HOLD was locked on and Kowalski walked away the winner.
6. The Destroyer & Red Bastien defeated GCW National Heavyweight champion The Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff via DQ after Sheik ambushed Bastien with the loaded boot. This was a hot one that had the whole Auditorium rocking!! Bastien has been dying to get his hands on The Iron Sheik for some time now and he finally had the opportunity in this one! However, the National Heavyweight champion would quickly tag out to Nikolai Volkoff and lay low outside of the ring. Sheik also wanted to avoid The Destroyer who has some issues of his own after last week's title bout loss. In the end, however, Sheik went to his old trusty friend the loaded boot and ambushed Bastien with it. This time though the referee called for a disqualification and the crowd pelted Sheik and Volkoff with every piece of trash they could find! As Destroyer helped Bastien to the back, the crowd was chanting "USA! USA! USA!"
7. Nick Bockwinkel defeated "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka via the BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER. Snuka and Buddy Rogers continue to be on ice as of this writing and as of this match when Jimmy Snuka battled Nick Bockwinkel. Snuka looked okay, but was overpowered by Bockwinkel for most of the encounter. The BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER was applied relatively early and sent Nick home the winner. "Superfly" continues his struggles here in GCW!
8. The Valiant Brothers defeated The Road Warriors two falls-to-one to become the first ever GCW World Tag Team champions! This one, folks, was a war. The Road Warriors started the match, as they do every match, dominantly. A quick DOOMSDAY DEVICE to Jimmy Valiant and it seemed that this one would be all but academic. However when the second fall began the Valiants began some wonderful team work, cutting the ring in half and executing magnificent double teaming of Animal. They were not, however, without scare. The Roadies at one point mounted a comeback and seemed to have Jimmy Valiant within their grasp once again until a double team by the Valiants took place outside of the ring gave the brothers the advantage once again! The Valiants took fall two rather quickly after that attack.
The third fall was, in a word, epic. Each and every man fought with a crimson mask running down his face and staining the GCW ring. There were DOOMSDAY DEVICEs and FLYING ELBOWs and nothing seemed to be able to stop either team! In the final moments of the match a weary, bleary, and hospital bound Animal was the recipent of a SPINNING NECKBREAKER and a FLYING ELBOW that proved to be too much for him to kick out of this time! Jimmy & Johnny Valiant are indeed the first ever GCW World Tag Team champions, but it seems the celebration will have to wait for another night.
