(Been a bit busy of late, but GCW is still rolling right along! Expect many updates soon. Unfortunately, the Dixie League Tag Tournament has been cancelled for the time being, but it will return!)

1. Dewey Robertson defeated Larry Sharpe after Sharpe missed a flying kneedrop.
Dewey looked strong in his return to action after Killer Kowalski’s vicious attack a few weeks ago. The Canadian came out swinging and gave everything he had to Larry Sharpe, who didn’t have much to show his effort. After absorbing a pretty good amount of punishment from Robertson, Larry mounted a decent offensive comeback. However, Sharpe tried to capitalize with a high risk flying kneedrop and it didn’t pay off. Robertson moved away and pinned the fallen Sharpe for the victory.
2. Singapore Cane Match: The Sandman defeated “Playboy” Buddy Rose w/ Cherie Dupre after two SINGAPORE CANE shots to the head.
A feud that just keeps getting hotter and hotter continued in this one and were the stakes ever raised! Both men dished out the punishment with the canes, but Sandman is the more experienced and Rose is nursing a tender forehead. Two big cane shots to his wound left Rose reeling and put The Sandman in the driver’s seat. After the victory, The Sandman was in the midst of his usual post-match ceremony when he looked down to see Cherie Dupre nursing Rose. Sandman quickly walked over and gave Dupre a nice, cold beer bath! She ran to the back in horror!
3. Ilio Dipaolo defeated King Kong Bundy w/ Virgil after landing several big right hands.
After Dipaolo and Bobo Brazil defeated Bundy and his tag team partner Buff Bagwell two weeks ago in Savannah, Bundy was looking to even the score with this one. However, Dipaolo proved, once again, to be too much for the Million Dollar Corporation to handle. Bundy had an advantage earlier, but Ilio stayed away from “The Walking Condominium” and made Bundy chase him around the ring. As the big man got wounded Dipaolo would creep in and give Bundy an assorted combination of punches and really work over the big man. Eventually when he was reeling, Dipaolo nailed several big right hands and pinned him for the 1-2-3! Ilio Dipaolo’s first singles victory here in Georgia Championship Wrestling!
4. Wrestling Exhibition: “Cowboy” Dick Hutton defeated Frank Gotch via submission when Gotch submitted to the ABDOMINAL STRETCH.
Good, hard wrestling action in this one. Neither man broke the rules or took the action to the arena floor and the fans seemed to appreciate it. Gotch, however, did seem to be about one step off his usual game and Hutton took full advantage of his injured opponent. After being held in Hutton’s vicious ABDOMINAL STRETCH for only a few moments, Gotch submitted and fell to the canvas. Hutton helped Gotch to his feet, shook his hand, and raised his arm after the match.
5. Nick Bockwinkel & Harley Race defeated GCW National Heavyweight champion The Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff via disqualification after Sheik assaulted Race with the loaded boot.
The hatred has built up rather quickly between these two teams and they made no effort to hide in this encounter. Nikolai Volkoff is still laying claim to the #1 contender moniker and Nick Bockwinkel takes great offense to such an idea. Bockwinkel tried to wrestle the big man, but Volkoff wouldn’t stay in the ring for any period of time rendering Bockwinkel unable to mount any kind of momentum. Breznikov’s boys quickly fell back into their old ways and began looking for any opening they could find to win the match. In the end, The Sheik found himself unable to score a pin fall and resorted to the old loaded boot. Only this time the referee was in position and quickly rang the bell for a disqualification. Bockwinkel and Race did not take kindly to the referee’s decision and brawled with Volkoff and Sheik to the back.
6. “The Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase defeated Bobo Brazil via submission after Brazil fell asleep in the MILLION DOLLAR DREAM.
This one has been building for quite some time. After Brazil embarrassed Dibiase at The Omni Coliseum in Atlanta by attacking him during his match with George South and then putting South on top of Dibiase and counting to three, “The Million Dollar Man” has been looking for any way to embarrass Bobo equally. The two men were locked in an intense battle in this one that saw Brazil attempting to bust open the rich man with hiss dreaded COCO BUTT, however Dibiase had other plans and his bodyguard Virgil was in the right place at the right time, distracting the referee during Brazil’s pin falls. Eventually Dibiase found an opening for his MILLION DOLLAR DREAM and put “The People’s Champion” to sleep.
7. “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers and “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka defeated GCW World Heavyweight champion Johnny Valentine & Greg “The Hammer” Valentine via count-out after Snuka delivered a piledriver to Johnny Valentine on the concrete floor.
Most predicted this one to be a war and no one was disappointed! Snuka and Rogers took the fight to the Valentines early and didn’t let up at all as the match went on. Johnny Valentine, of course, is no stranger to warfare outside the ring and willingly took the battle there several times. However during the last go round, Jimmy Snuka took the advantage for good and delivered a nasty piledriver to the GCW World Heavyweight champion. The champion lay motionless and even the Carrollton crowd had no idea how to react to Snuka’s maneuver. Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake continued checking on the champion after the big move. Valentine does have a title defense next week in Athens against Rogers, but after this, he may not be able to make it.
8. Bob Orton, Sr. & “Iron” Mike Dibiase defeated GCW World Tag Team champions The Valiant Brothers to win the titles when Orton pinned Jimmy Valiant after a PILEDRIVER.
One of the best matches of the year culminated in one of the biggest upsets of the year as the underdog team themselves, Bob Orton, Sr. & “Iron” Mike Dibiase, walk away with the GCW World Tag Team Titles. The Valiant Brothers seemingly had “Iron” Mike down for the count, but the resilient twosome somehow found a way to fight out of the hole and put the Valiants on defense. With all four men covered in crimson masks, the fans continued cheering for the underdogs to somehow pull a victory out of nowhere, and as the match continued the fans believed more and more. At the end of the night, after Orton’s PILEDRIVER, the VFW Fairgrounds exploded and an emotional celebration followed.
A huge night at the VFW Fairgrounds with a possible match of the year candidate (The Valiant Brothers vs. Orton & Dibiase) and an absolute war (Rogers/Snuka vs The Valentines). We will see the fallout from this one on World Championship Wrestling and, GCW fans, you do NOT want to miss the fall out.
