I've disliked the direction that my current fed has been taking for some time and have been looking to get a new beginning. New histories, better record keeping, more precise and tighter booking, etc. I've looked through the old board and read a couple of feds on this one while trying to decide what to do and this is the setting, feel, atmosphere I've been wanting.
I'm starting with the original twenty-four--well, I'll be starting as soon as I hear from TM about the Bockwinkel card--along with the special editions that have been released. I'll be running fifty-two cards a year with two supercards and I'll post highlights from my weekly television show (thanks, Cory Olson!).
The first six weeks will be focused on crowning the first GCW champions. My titles will be the GCW World, GCW National Heavyweight, and GCW World Tag Team.
Here is the roster, names clustered together are the factions on day one, I will be using:
HEELS Harley Race Nick Bockwinkel
Johnny Valentine Greg Valentine Brutus Beefcake
Ted Dibiase King Kong Bundy Buff Bagwell Managed by Virgil
The Iron Sheik Nikolai Volkoff Managed by Nikita Breznikov
Gorgeous George "Playboy" Buddy Rose Managed by Cherie Dupre
The Valiant Brothers
Bob Orton, Sr. Mike Dibiase
FACES Buddy Rogers "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka
Frank Gotch Giant Baba
Bobo Brazil Red Bastien The Destroyer Ilio Dipaolo
Ox Baker The Sandman "Cowboy" Dick Hutton
The Road Warriors
Killer Kowalski
Dewey Robertson
JOBBERS George South Larry Sharpe Johnny Rodz
The lineup for card #1 follows.

Card #001 Rome Memorial Gymnasium Rome, GA 1/3/2009
1. King Kong Bundy defeated George South after a running power slam. South seemingly had the upper hand a few times in the early portions of the match, but Bundy proved too overwhelming for him. Bundy tossed his opponent around like a stuffed animal and the "Walking Condominium" finished him off a devastating running power slam. South had to be carried away from the ring after feeling all 446 pounds of Bundy. Bundy looked dominant here and you coam be sure that The Destroyer was watching in the back in anticipation for their match in the first round of the National Heavyweight Title tournament coming up for the
2. "Playboy" Buddy Rose defeated "Cowboy" Dick Hutton after a BOMBS AWAY knee drop. Hutton dominated for most of the match. Rose's screams of pain echoed throughout the gymnasium when the cowboy would slap on his ABDOMINAL STRETCH, but credit must be given, Rose refused to give up. Rose did have some helpful assistance, from Cherie Dupre, and some not so helpful assistance, from Gorgeous George. When Hutton appeared to have Rose where he wanted him "The Gorgeous One" made an appearance and ended up eating the concrete floor after a big right hand from Hutton. Eventually Rose nailed some offense and set up the Cowboy for his big knee drop. Some real fighting spirit shown from "Playboy" Buddy Rose!
3. GCW World Tag Team Title Tournament, Round One: The Valiant Brothers defeated Red Bastien & The Destroyer via DQ when Bastien slammed Jimmy Valiant into the ring post. The Valiants controlled the action throughout the entire match. Early pin attempts on Red Bastien and great double team work on The Destroyer left the brothers in the driver's seat. When Bastien took over on offense, Jimmy Valiant was reeling! He clotheslined him over the top rope and the Memorial Gymnasium was shaking! His decision to ram Valiant into the post--while popular with the audience--led to a disqualification and the Valiants advancing in the tournament. The Destroyer chastised his partner for his lapse in judgment after the match. The Valiants will face the winners of the Jimmy Snuka & Buddy Rogers vs. Johnny & Greg Valentine match next week in Marietta, GA in the semi-finals.
4. GCW National Heavyweight Title Tournament, Round One: "The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase w/ Virgil defeated Ox Baker when Baker passed out in Dibiase's MILLION DOLLAR DREAM. Baker was determined to put a quick end to Dibiase, but Dibiase played it smart and waited for the erratic Baker to make a mistake. Once he did, it wasn't long before Dibiase locked on the always effective MILLION DOLLAR DREAM and went home victorious. Baker will be looking for revenge at our next card in Marietta, GA when he and The Sandman team up to face Ted Dibiase and his bodyguard Virgil in round one of the GCW World Tag Team tournament.
5. GCW World Tag Team Title, Round One: The Road Warriors defeated Nikolai Volkoff & The Iron Sheik w/ Nikita Breznikov when Hawk pinned Nikolai Volkoff after a flying body splash. The Road Warriors justified PWI's billing as "The Most Dominant Team in Wrestling Today" with this convincing victory over Volkoff & Sheik. If a sweat was broken it couldn't be seen from where I was sitting. The Road Warriors will face either Ted Dibiase & Virgil or Ox Baker & The Sandman in the semi-finals.
6. GCW National Heavyweight Title Tournament, Round One: Greg Valentine defeated Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka after a neckbreaker. Snuka's aerial attack versus Valentine's ground game seemed sure to provide an interesting clash of styles and it did not disappoint! Superfly tried to use his agility to an advantage, but Valentine's power and leg work made Snuka virtually immobile towards the end of the match. After Valentine nailed his neckbreaker, Snuka was down for the count. This one is just getting started, however, as next week at the Cobb County Civic Center Jimmy Snuka and Buddy Rogers will team up to face Greg Valentine and his father, Johnny Valentine in the GCW World Tag Team Title tournament!
7. GCW World Heavyweight Title Tournament, Round One: Frank Gotch defeated Killer Kowalski after Kowalski submitted to the GOTCH TOEHOLD. Frank Gotch proved again why most consider him the most effective wrestler in Georgia Championship Wrestling. Focusing on one portion of the big man's body--his legs--Gotch launched an effective mat attack from which the larger Kowalski could not recover. After the match, Kowalski shook his hand. Gotch awaits the winner of the Nick Bockwinkel/Giant Baba contest while the Killer will face Brutus Beefcake next week.
8. GCW World Heavyweight Title Tournament, Round One: "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers defeated Johnny Valentine when Valentine submitted to the FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE. Exciting main event that saw Valentine charge with some vicious jabs during ring introductions! Valentine seemed like he wanted to kill the "Nature Boy" more than win the match. The action spilled outside of the ring and saw Rogers ram Valentine into the ring post, but the referee allowed the action to continue. Valentine complained to the referee post-match, but to no avail, as Buddy Rogers moves into the semi-finals of the World Title tournament. Tensions are high already, however, for the tag tournament match next week between the Valentines and Snuka & Rogers!

Highlights from World Championship Wrestling- Gordon Solie interviewed Johnny Valentine who said he was robbed of his spot in the GCW World Heavyweight Title tournament when the referee showed partial treatment to Buddy Rogers after Rogers rammed him into a steel post. Valentine argued that the precedent was set earlier in the night when Bastien was disqualified for that and Rogers should have gotten the same treatment. Valentine promised that he and his son Greg would not only win the GCW World Tag Team Titles, but they are going to make sure that Rogers is in no condition to advance any further in the World Title tournament.
- Red Bastien and The Destroyer were interviewed and told the GCW audience that they were disappointed in their loss to the Valiants, but they felt they deserved another shot at the brothers. Nikita Breznikov interrupted their interview and called them "typical Americans" telling them to accept they lost because of their "violent natures" and he expects Bastien to be back whining next week after he loses to The Iron Sheik.
- Ted Dibiase and his "$100,000 security guard" King Kong Bundy gave a joint interview boasting about their victories in Rome. Dibiase promised that he and Virgil would walk away with the Tag Team titles and said if he and Bundy meet in the GCW National Heavyweight Title tournament it will be strictly business and will cause no tension in the ranks of the Million Dollar Corporation.
January 10th, 2009 at the Cobb Civic Center in Marietta, GA!- In the main event, Bobo Brazil faces Harley Race in a tournament match for the GCW World Heavyweight Title! In other tournament action, Nick Bockwinkel goes one-on-one with the big man from Japan, Giant Baba!
- The GCW National Heavyweight Title tournament is sure to see some hot action as The Destroyer faces Dibiase's security guard, King Kong Bundy! We will also see Red Bastien and The Iron Sheik in tournament action! After Nikita Breznikov's comments to Bastien and his tag team partner The Destroyer this week, you know the red head is red hot!
- Tempers are flared already between Johnny Valentine and "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers! The Tag Team Title tournament provides a battleground for these GCW superstars when Rogers teams with Jimmy Snuka to take on Johnny and Greg Valentine. Also in tournament action are Ted Dibiase & Virgil taking on Ox Baker and The Sandman. Baker was put to sleep by Dibiase and you know he is itching to leave "The Million Dollar Man" reeling from his heart punch!
- All this plus two more exciting bouts! You don't want to miss Georgia Championship Wrestling at the Cobb County Civic Center!

Card #002 Cobb County Civic Center Marietta, GA 1/10/09
1.Gorgeous George w/ Cherie Dupre defeated Johnny Rodz via count out. Crowd was solidly behind Rodz "uglying up" Gorgeous George. George spent a lot of time outside of the ring taunting the crowd and begging Rodz to "bring the fight outside!" Rodz did manage to get the upper hand a few times during the bout, but eventually George took the fight outside and bodyslammed "The Unpredictable One" on the concrete floor and rolled in the ring for a victory. George and Cherie tossed flowers to the crowd as they exited.
2. Killer Kowalski defeated Brutus Beefcake via the CLAW HOLD. Beefcake was introduced as the "Barber to the Stars," and came to the ring carrying a barber's set. Kowalski began the match by tossing Beefcake around like a rag doll, but Beefcake managed the upper hand throughout the match. He continually threatened to give the big man a shave and shouted "I'm not scared of a Canadian claw!" Once the claw was administered, however, Beefcake almost immediately cried uncle.
3. GCW National Heavyweight Title Tournament, Round One: The Iron Sheik w/ Nikita Breznikov defeated Red Bastien after a sidewinder suplex. Bastien started the match as a house-of-fire after Nikita Breznikov's comments on World Championship Wrestling. Backed by a sold out arena chanting "U.S.A! U.S.A!" It seemed that fate was on the red head's side. However, the Sheik loaded the boot up and went to work on Bastien, but Red stayed strong! Even with a crimson mask Bastien fought through several near falls after repeated shots with the loaded boot. Sheik then hit his devastating sidewinder suplex and walked away with a "clean" victory. You can bet that Bastien hasn't had his last word on this ordeal just yet!
4. GCW World Tag Team Title Tournament, Round One: The Sandman & Ox Baker defeated Ted Dibiase & Virgil after Sandman nailed Diabiase with a SINGAPORE CANE shot to the head. Dibiase would not allow Virgil in the match except for when Ox Baker came into the ring. Dibiase tried to get out of dodge every time the wild man came into the ring, not wanting to feel revenge for the match last week in Rome. Dibiase found himself cornered at the end of the match between Baker and Sandman and ran towards Sandman--who was also the legal man. Sandman cracked his cane on Dibiase and the two wild men celebrated by leaving through the crowd. They go on to face the Road Warriors next week in Macon. It's no easy task, but Baker & Sandman appear to be on a training regimen of beer and sausage.
5. GCW National Heavyweight Title Tournament, Round One: The Destroyer defeated King Kong Bundy via disqualification when Bundy refused to relinquish the choke hold after a five count. Bundy appears to have a need to establish himself as the dominant big man in GCW. He didn't appear to want to win the match so much as annihilate The Destroyer. After being demanded to relinquish the choke, Bundy held it and the ref called for a disqualification. Bundy left the arena screaming, "WHO LOOKS THE WINNER?"
6. GCW World Tag Team Title Tournament, Round One: "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers & Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka defeated Johnny & Greg Valentine via DQ when Johnny Valentine tried to break up a pin attempt with a flying knee drop. Bedlam! An absolute brawl between both the teams with the referee being very lenient with disqualifications. Rogers and Johnny Valentine were throwing stiff fists at one another on the outside while Snuka and Greg were brawling on the inside of the ring. After order had been restored Snuka hit his SUPERFLY LEAP on the Hammer and seemed to have his team headed for sure victory, but Johnny Valentine landed right on Superfly's rib cage with a big knee drop. The referee had enough and called for the bell. A medical team had to help Snuka to the back while Rogers was calling for Johnny Valentine's head. Rogers & Snuka will face the Valiants in Augusta in two weeks in a semi-final match.
7. GCW World Heavyweight Title Tournament, Round One: Nick Bockwinkel defeated Giant Baba with the BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER. A terrific technical encounter with several reversals and Baba using his size to counteract Bockwinkel's ground offense. Bockwinkel's sleeper proved a little too tough for Baba however as the big man passed out in it. Bockwinkel moves on to the semi-finals in Macon to face Baba's ally, Frank Gotch.
8. GCW World Heavyweight Title Tournament, Round One: Harley Race defeated Bobo Brazil after a PILEDRIVER. Race is a tough customer, but Bobo proved almost too tough to handle for the Kansas City native. Two consecutive COCO BUTTs had the big man on the crowd, but Bobo could not close the deal. Race fought his way back and nailed the PILEDRIVER for the victory. Race will face Buddy Rogers next week in Macon in the semi-finals.

Highlights from World Championship Wrestling- Harley Race was interviewed by Gordon Solie and promised that he would win the World Heavyweight Title and would make Johnny Valentine's work on Buddy Rogers look like child's play. Race also alluded to the fact that Rogers seems to be preoccupied with a man he's already beaten and not focused on the man he has to beat.
- Ted Dibiase was sporting a bandage on his head courtesy of The Sandman. Dibiase said he wasn't worried about a drunken degenerate like The Sandman considering he had a "legitimate athlete" like The Iron Sheik to deal with this weekend.
- The Road Warriors gave an interview that was sure to send the kids under the table! They said they weren't worried about drunks like Ox Baker and The Sandman and called Ox Baker's heart punch a "tired gimmick." Strong words for men stepping into the ring with one of the most feared men in the business!
- Frank Gotch was interviewed in his personal gym saying that, while his friend Baba was defeated fair and square, that a man like Nick Bockwinkel had no business wearing championship gold. He promised the GCW fans that he would make Bockwinkel submit in Macon.
January 17th at the Macon Coliseum in Macon, GA!- In the main event, Harley Race goes one-on-one with "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers. Race charged Rogers with being preoccupied with Johnny Valentine and said that he would pay for his negligence in regards to Race. Will Rogers make Race eat his words or is Harley right? Also in semi-final action Nick Bockwinkel will face Frank Gotch. Gotch promised to make Bockwinkel submit and, as always, Bockwinkel is confident about his chances of putting Gotch to sleep.
- It's a battle of the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK as The Destroyer faces Greg Valentine in the semi-finals of the GCW National Heavyweight Title tournament. Valentine is coming off a pinfall victory over Jimmy Snuka while The Destroyer can only boast a DQ victory over Bundy. Valentine feels like he belongs and The Destroyer still needs to prove he's a contender. In other semi-final action, Ted Dibiase does battle with The Iron Sheik. With these two notorious rulebreakers throw every thing out the window and watch two masters of manipulation work their magic.
- It's sure to be a no holds barred encounter when Ox Baker & The Sandman meet The Road Warriors in semi-final action! The Road Warriors called Baker's heart punch, that has been banned in several states, a gimmick and Baker is itching to show Animal or Hawk just how real the punch can be!
- In a preview of next week's semi-final match in Augusta, Jimmy Snuka faces Johnny Valiant. The Valiants are leaking word that Snuka was injured after Johnny Valentine's knee drop and that Snuka is fighting a lone fight for the GCW World Tag Team Titles with Rogers focused on the World Title and getting his hands on Johnny Valentine. Also, the tag team of Bob Orton, Sr. and "Iron" Mike Dibiase will debut! Buff Bagwell will be in action!
You do not want to miss GCW action at the Macon Coliseum!

Card #003 Macon Coliseum Macon, GA 1/17/09
1. Buff Bagwell w/ Virgil defeated George South after a scoop slam. The Million Dollar Corporation kicks off the night with a victory albeit against George South. Bagwell looked terrific throwing South around the ring and completely dominating the match.
2. Bob Orton, Sr. & "Iron" Mike Dibiase quickly defeated Larry Sharpe & Johnny Rodz after Orton nailed a PILEDRIVER on Sharpe. Not even close on this one, folks. Orton completely dominated Sharpe while his tag team partner looked on from the comforts of the ring apron. Orton nailed the PILEDRIVER and that was all she wrote. We will see Orton and Dibiase in action next week in Augusta as they take on the Canadian connection of Dewey Robertson and Killer Kowalski.
3. Johnny Valiant defeated Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka with a SWINGING NECKBREAKER. Maybe the rumors the Valiants were spreading were true after all! Snuka looked lethargic in making his way around the ring and Valiant was wrestling circles around him! Did Valentine injure Snuka to a severe degree? If so, will Snuka be at 100% for the tournament match next week in Augusta? Jimmy and Johnny Valiant strutted after the match as Jimmy Snuka helped to the back.
4. GCW National Heavyweight Title Tournament, Semi-Finals: The Iron Sheik w/ Nikita Breznikov defeated Ted Dibiase w/ Virgil after Sheik threw Dibiase into Virgil. The rules were definitely thrown out for this one, folks! Dibiase and Sheik seemed to enjoy the game of criminal one-ups-manship they were playing. Dibiase seemed to have control of the match, but a knock from the loaded boot made the crimson mask flow--Dibiase's head was already tender from Sandman's SINGAPORE CANE shot last week--and Dibiase looked lost for the rest of the match. Virgil jumped onto the apron to distract the referee and Sheik threw Dibiase right into his body guard--knocking both men out. Sheik got the easy pin and advances to the finals of the tournament next week in Augusta!
5. GCW National Heavyweight Title Tournament, Semi-Finals: The Destroyer defeated Greg Valentine with the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. The Destroyer advances to the tournament finals to face The Iron Sheik. Already bad blood between those two GCW superstars and adding a title to the mix could be potentially explosvie!
6. GCW World Tag Team Title Tournament, Semi-Finals: The Road Warriors defeated The Sandman & Ox Baker after a DOOMSDAY DEVICE. The word dominant doesn't even describe the Road Warriors at this point. Whether they face the Valiants or Rogers & Snuka in Columbus, they are the odds-on favorites.
7. GCW World Heavyweight Title Tournament, Semi-Finals: Frank Gotch defeated Nick Bockwinkel via DQ when Bockwinkel shoved the referee. Bockwinkel had control of the match early and seemed to be cruising for a sure berth in the finals. However, Gotch would not give in to the BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER and it clearly started to agitate the Hollywood Blonde. After a second failed attempt of putting Gotch to sleep, Bockwinkel started choking Gotch with the tag rope. The referee tried to break it up, but Bockwinkel shoved the official to the mat and got himself disqualified.
8. GCW World Heavyweight Title Tournament, Semi-Finals: "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers defeated Harley Race when Race submitted to the FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE. A hard fought battle that saw Race continually looking for openings, but being shut down every time by Rogers. Rogers appeared to have his mind focused not on Johnny Valentine, but only on the GCW World Heavyweight Title. Rogers will face Frank Gotch in the finals of the tournament in three weeks at the Omni Coliseum in Atlanta!!
