Press Release (February 16)
The NWA board continues to tweak the point system for Title Contenders. From now on if there are two wrestlers with three points at the same time, they must face off to determine an undisputed number one contender. Champions are still required to take regular non-title matches, but we feel Champions defending every week makes Championship Matches less special. We also feel this will make determining a number one contender even more competitive.

Nigel McGuinness vs. Ray Stevens: Steven’s easily beat the young newcomer with his BOMBS AWAY!
Chris Hero vs. Tom Prichard: Chris Hero made it look easy. He pinned Prichard after a Hero Sandwich in little over a minute.
Adam Pearce vs. Iron Mike Dibiase: The battle of iron here. “Iron” Mike DiBiase put “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce out with a sleeper.
Justin Credible vs. Koko B. Ware: Credible dominated, then managed a SINGAPORE CANE shot behind the referee’s back and pinned Ware.
Buddy Rogers vs. Danny Hodge: Hodge had a good showing against Rogers, but like so many fell to the FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE!
Nick Bockwinkel vs. Yukon Eric: Bockwinkel dominated Eric and won by a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK!
Women’s Match Daize Haze vs. Ida Mae Martinez: A solid match which saw Martinez win after 3 straight DROPKICKS!
Mike Quackenbush vs. UltraMantis Black: These two have had a couple of encounters as of late and are developing quite the rivalry. After a great match that had the crowd on their feet the evil bug Black got the win using La Safarina. Many were surprised he kicked out of the QUACKENDRIVER II.

Televised Matches
Welcome to ECW for the week. We are gearing up for March. In March we will have a tournament of Young Lions. The winner will have a feature match on LegendsMania, as well as other benefits.
Al Snow vs. Larry Sweeny: Snow had a slight flirtation with the Television Title. But he was Champion, so no one can take that away from him. Snow dominated Sweeny and got a dubious win after smashing him in the head with Head.
Brian Danielson vs. Jushin Liger: This should be a stellar match between two young greats. Liger dominated the match and hit his BRAINBUSTER at one point, but Danielson held on and won with the CATTLE MUTILATION!
Chuck Taylor vs. Tiger Mask: Tiger Mask dominated Taylor and won with a piledriver!
Brodie Lee vs. Brent Albright: Albright immediately put Lee into a sharpshooter, then transitioned to a CROWBAR and Brodie tapped immediately.
Women’s Match Sherri Martel vs. Penny Banner: Banner steamrolled Martel and won with a crossbody to remain undefeated!
Falls Count Anywhere Match Rob Van Dam vs. Sabu with Bill Alfonso: RVD has been getting more cheers lately. He may be cocky, but he is impressive. The match barely got started when RVD floored Sabu and hit the FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH to win the match and the series. Sabu looked stunned as RVD posed and left the ring in victory. Wait! Tyler Black and Jimmy Jacobs are coming through the crowd. Jacobs nails Alfonso from behind. Black’s putting the boots to Sabu. Jacobs locks Sabu in THE END TIME while Black continues to stomp away. The Contra Code now from Jacobs. Black’s got him now, God’s Last Gift! And the Paroxysm! Sabu is getting destroyed. Look at this! RVD is coming back to the ring. He’s trading shots with Jacobs. Jacobs is down and Van Dam hits the split legged moonsault. Van Dam is back up and starts trading with Black now. Van Dam has cleared the ring. He’s helping Sabu up and the fans are going crazy. RVD shakes Sabu’s hand as Jacobs and Black crawl from the ring. Who thought this series would end this way?
Non Title Match Steve Corino vs. Diamond Dallas Page [C]: Page completely dominated the match and won with a DIAMOND CUTTER!
Main Event: World Heavyweight Championship Match Claudio Castagnoli vs. Mil Mascaras [C]: The second World Title Match to be hosted by ECW. 400 people in this local high school gym will see the Heavyweight Championship of the World defended.
Fall One Mascaras dominates, but is disqualified for attacking Castagnoli while he is tied in the ropes.
Fall Two Claudio fired back and started to hang with Mascaras, but a missed dive from the top gives Mascaras the chance to get the pin and win the second fall.
Fall Three Claudio starts the third fall and powers right through to the RICOLA BOMB for the win. Claudio has won! The referee’s talking with the announcer.
Ring Announcer: Here is your winner, Claudio Castagnoli. However, due to the disqualification; still World Heavyweight Champion: Mil Mascaras.
What a shame. Mascaras isn’t the type to save his Title by disqualification. We can only imagine Castagnoli will get a rematch down the road.

Card 190: NWA International from Beijing, China (February 20)
Non-Televised Matches
Fritz Von Goering vs. Yukon Eric: Eric got a quick win with a Woodman’s Chop.
Tag Team Match The Midnight Express with Jim Cornette vs. Red Bastien & Billy Lyons: After some solid action Lane used two straight SUPERKICKS on Lyons to get the win.
Ox Baker vs. Giant Baba: Baba got the pin after a piledriver.
Televised Matches
The French Angel vs. Antonio Inoki: Inoki makes his long awaited International debut. Inoki controls the match and uses two straight ENZUIGIRIS to get the win.
Larry Zbyszko vs. Konnan: These two have wrestled many times in the states. Larry slammed Konnan’s head into an exposed turnbuckle and then scored the pin. And that means Zbyszko becomes the #2 Contender for the International Championship.
Tag Team Match The Bolsheviks with Nikita Breznikov vs. The Road Warriors with Paul Ellering: After a POWER SLAM by Animal, Hawk hit a running clothesline on Zhukov and pinned him. Nikolai was never even tagged in.
Pepper Gomez vs. Ivan Koloff: Koloff steamrolled Gomez and got a win by backbreaker.
Backstage Interview
Gene Okerland: I’m here with Frank Gotch and he’s all fired up to be fighting The Sheik tonight. Frank, tell us about it.
Frank Gotch: I’ve said it before, Gene. I’m a wrestling machine. And I joined NWA International to show the world what American wrestlers are all about. Now I’m not going to let The Sheik stop me. I’m vowing here and now to take care of him and anyone else who gets in my way, and I’m not stopping until there’s gold around my waist. Sheik, I will make you tap out tonight.
Texas Death Match Frank Gotch vs. The Sheik with Abdullah Farouk: Gotch poured on the pure wrestling but Sheik had a dastardly counter for everything. He pummeled Gotch with weapons until throwing the FIREBALL to get a pinfall. As the medics tended to Gotch’s burns, he was heard screaming, “This isn’t over!”
Tag Team Match The Valliant Brothers with Lou Albano vs. London & Kendrick: London & Kendrick isolated Johnny and took him apart. After hitting a few finishers the ASSISTED SHOOTING STAR got the win and a shot at the tag titles.
Ilio Dipaolo vs. One Man Gang: Dipaolo was disqualified for putting Gang into the time keepers table.
Main Event Bob Orton, Sr. vs. Rikidozan: Rikidozan quickly won with THUNDEROUS CHOPS putting himself in Title contention.

Card 191: NWA Legends of Wrestling from Atlanta, Georgia (February 22)
Masked Superstar vs. Gorgeous George with Cherie Dupree: George was quickly disqualified for a chair shot outside of the ring.
Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs. Brutus Beefcake: A very competitive match. Beefcake looked good most of the match with Duggan having flurries of offence to stay in it. Beefcake was stunned by a spinning bodyslam which set up the FLYING SPEAR and the win for Duggan.
Televised Matches
A recap is shown from last week’s World Heavyweight Championship match on ECW.
Don Leo Jonathan vs. Masked Superstar II: What a match! Both big men had trouble moving the other, and the match was almost all counters. As the time limit neared its end Superstar failed to get the win with a BACKBREAKER! He then took things for the floor where Jonathan put him into the rail. Escaping disqualification, Don Leo took it back in the ring and win with a MORMAN SWING!
Buff Bagwell vs. King Kong Bundy with Bobby Heenan: Bagwell made the mistake of starting the match with a posedown. Bundy immediately laid a beat down and had the match won with an elbow drop off the ropes, but he demanded a 5 count and the match continued. Bagwell recovered and pinned the man who pinned Andre the Giant with a simple dropkick. Bagwell has to know he got lucky.
Jimmy Snuka vs. Magnum T.A.: Both men shook hands before the match. Although a fan favorite, Snuka can be quite savage. He unleashed an assault of headbutts, chops, and a HUGE SUPERFLY LEAP to pin the promising newcomer. Magnum raised his hand afterwards. There’s no shame in losing to Snuka.
Dan Severn vs. Harley Race with Bobby Heenan: Severn seemed to try everything with no effect on Race. Race quickly turned it around and won with a back suplex.
Andre the Giant vs. Iron Sheik: Sheik altered his pre-match tirade to “Iran #1, Giants hock tooh!” He then stunned Andre with two suplexes and locked on the CAMEL CLUTCH for an amazing win. The crowd is stunned. No one can believe what they just saw.
In Ring Interview Bill Apter asked Mil Mascaras about his match against Claudio Castagnoli. Mascaras apologized to the fans and Castagnoli for getting disqualified, although Apter felt the referee was being overly cautious. Mascaras then granted Castagnoli a rematch to be held next week on NWA Legends, and it will be no disqualification.
Jim Londos vs. Ted DiBiase: The return of The Million Dollar Man seems to have turned around DiBiase’s career. He blew past the former US and TV Champion and easily won with a MILLION DOLLAR SLEEPER!
Number One Contender’s Match for the United States Championship Bob Roop with Bobby Heenan vs. Ed Lewis: A night of quick submissions. The STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK put Roop out in less than a minute. Heenan is having quite the night.
Main Event: Non-Title Match John Pesek vs. George Hackenschmidt [C]: Pesek came out very aggressively and dominated the US Champion. Hack escaped the TIGER MAN TOEHOLD and the two ended up on the floor. Pesek got the better of a brawl and beat down Hack, causing a disqualification. Pesek seemed rather casual about throwing away his winning streak and future US title shot, but it looks like George Hackenschmidt will defend against Ed Lewis next week hurt. George Hackenschmidt is hurt for 4 cards.

Card 192: NWA ECW from Philadelphia, Fl (February 25)
Non-Televised Matches
Ricky Landell vs. Arik Cannon: A strong debut for both men. They traded pretty much even with Landell having a slight edge. After Cannon got a bit dirty he was able to hit the GLIMMERING WARLOCK for the pin!
Trinity Denucci vs. Sara Del Rey: Del Rey dominated the whole match with her power, but couldn’t seal the deal. Denucci hit a flying forearm to counter an Irish whip, then the NEW JERSEY JAM for the win. Sara can’t buy a win thus far.
Necro Butcher vs. Delirious: Delirious dominated and got the win with a cobra stretch in an uneventful match.
Televised Matches
Jimmy Jacobs vs. Sabu with Bill Alfonso: Sabu gets a measure of revenge by quickly pinning Jacobs with a TRIPLE JUMP MOONSAULT before Jacobs mounted any offence.
UltraMantis Black vs. Chris Hero: Mantis hit no less than 4 Japanese Ocean Cyclone Suplexes, but Hero kept rebounding. While Mantis escaped two HERO’S WELCOMES, he went down to a big boot.
Texas Death Match Al Snow vs. Justin Credible: Snow wins with a SNOW PLOW!
Rob Van Dam with Bill Alfonso vs. Tyler Black: Black fared much better than Jacobs, hitting most of his big moves on RVD. Van Dam did the same, however, and after two legdrops on the guardrail RVD took it back in the ring and scored a pin.
Tiger Mask vs. Bryan Danielson: Danielson scored a big win over Liger last week. Now he faces Liger’s masked partner as both men attempt to get back into Title contention. This was a great match. It started all Tiger Mask and Danielson looked to be in trouble. It then evened out as both men equally hit each other with dives, suplexes, and kicks. With both men bleeding Danielson locked on the CATTLE MUTILATION for the win.
Women’s Match Ida Mae Martinez vs. Penny Banner: Banner steamrolled Martinez for another big win by SUNSET FLIP! Banner can’t be stopped. The fans applauded both women.
Iron Mike DiBiase vs. Brent Albright: DiBiase used two TOP ROPE KNEE DROPS to get an easy win over Albright.
Main Event Buddy Rogers vs. Nick Bockwinkel: Despite both men’s status as villains, the fans have been waiting for this one. Rogers seems the unofficial favorite. He’s made it clear he doesn’t care about the fans but his respect for the Championship gives him the edge in cheers over Bockwinkel, who respects nothing. These men had a great back and forth match until Bockwinkel punched the referee on the floor and was disqualified.

Televised Matches
Giant Baba vs. Dennis Condrey with Jim Cornette: Condrey got a big win over Baba with an atomic drop.
Ivan Kollof vs. Al Snow: Koloff dominated Snow and pinned him in his International debut.
Frank Gotch vs. The Sheik with Abdulla Farouk: These two are set to face off again. Sheik again dominated, but Gotch got a quick tap out with the GOTCH TOEHOLD!

Main Event: World Tag Team Championship Match London & Kendrick vs. The Fabulous Kangaroos with Red Berry: It has been announced that the tag teams have been split up among the three brands for March. London & Kendrick may take the World Tag Team Championship back to ECW, or The Kangaroos may keep them here in NWA International. While The Kangaroos were in control, the match devolved into a brawl and was ruled a double disqualification.

Card 194: NWA Legends of Wrestling from New Orleans, Louisiana (March 1)
Non-Televised Matches
Magnum T.A. vs. Bobby Eaton with Jim Cornette: Magnum easily pinned Eaton after a running forearm.
Andre the Giant vs. Masked Superstar II with Jim Cornette: A treat for the home crowd as almost 850 pounds of humanity faced off in a non-televised match. Andre would have won in seconds if Cornette hadn’t distracted the referee. Andre then went on to destroy Superstar II who finally stayed down after the third BIG SPLASH!
Jim Londos vs. John Pesek: Crowd still not sure of what to think about Pesek brutalizing Hackenschmidt last week. These two matched up very evenly but once Pesek gained control he wore down Londos with the TIGER MAN TOEHOLD before putting him away with a DOUBLE WRISTLOCK!
Televised Matches
Ladies and Gentlemen, Legends Mania will be April the 4th. After tonight there will be no Title matches on any brand until then. But tonight we have both a United States and World Heavyweight Championship match for you.
Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs. Iron Sheik: Sheik stunned the world with an easy submission win over Andre last week. He had considerably more trouble with Duggan, who dominated the match. Sheik couldn’t get in a groove but when he finally did it was a few suplexes and slams into the CAMEL CLUTCH for the win.
Tag Team Match The James Gang vs. The Bolsheviks with Nikita Breznivov: The Soviets controlled the slow plodding match but a quick flurry and a Shake, Rattle, and Roll Knee Drop from B.G. put Volkoff down for the 3.
Don Leo Jonathan vs. Harley Race with Bobby Heenan: Race was in control but was disqualified for putting Don Leo into the guardrail.
Buff Bagwell vs. Ted Dibiase: Bagwell dominated but got caught in a MILLION DOLLAR SLEEPER and gave up.
Tag Team Match The Love Brothers vs. The Killer Bees: Hartford was never tagged into his debut match. Reginald was double teamed and dominated and then put down with a BEE STING followed by a KILLER DROPKICK! A big win for the Bees.
United States Heavyweight Championship Match Ed Lewis vs. George Hackenschmidt [C]: The story of the match was the STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK! Lewis stayed on that move and went back to it repeatedly to put Hackenschmidt away and win his second United States Championship! John Pesek comes out and celebrates with Lewis and George looks a bit suspicious of this.
Masked Superstar with Jim Cornette vs. Jimmy Snuka: Superstar won an exciting match with a second SPINNING NECKBREAKER!
Main Event: World Heavyweight Championship Match Claudio Castagnoli vs. Mil Mascaras [C]: This is the rematch to the controversial match a few weeks back. Mascaras shakes Castagnoli’s before the match, and the referee reminds us it’s no disqualification tonight.
First fall: There’s some great quick action in the early going before Mascaras locks on the Indian deathlock for the submission win.
Second fall: Mascaras again dominates and gets the win with a slingshot plancha, putting the debate to rest. Still, a great run by Claudio up to and including these Title Matches. And Mascaras now out does his first reign with 4 successful defenses.

Card 195: NWA ECW from Philadelphia, Fl (March 4)
Non Televised Matches
Iron Mike DiBiase vs. Ray Stevens: After being dominated by DiBiase for most of the match Stevens took it to the outside. After a brawl erupted it was DiBiase that was disqualified, but he hangs onto his #1 contender’s spot.
Tag Team Match The Young Bucks vs. The Samoans: The Samoans’ power ruled the match as they bloodied Matt and beat down Nick. Nick managed a rally, but was pinned by a diving splash from Samu.
Buddy Rogers vs. Bob Armstrong: Bullet Bob put on a great performance to beat Buddy Rogers with a SLEEPER! What a win for Bob Armstrong.
Televised Matches
Tonight we start the Young Lion’s Cup and every match will be first round Cup Matches.
Chris Hero vs. Jimmy Jacobs: Hero completely dominated and got the win with a HERO’S WELCOME!
Nigel McGuinnes vs. Mike Quackenbush: Despite being off the match rotation, Nigel’s winn-loss record was good enough to get him into this tournament. Still, Quackenbush controlled the match. He survived a JAWBREAKER LARIAT and used a QUACKENDRIVER III to advance in the tournament and keep Nigel on the losing end of the roster.
Brent Albright vs. UltraMantis Black: Mantis had a flurry to start the match but Albright came back with a ground attack and made Black tap out to the CROWBAR!
Claudio Castagnoli vs. Larry Sweeny: Many think Claudio is the man to beat in this tournament. He’s the only one in the field to have had a World Championship match. Claudio easily won with a scissor kick to the face.
Erick Stevens vs. Arik Cannon: Steven’s debut here. Surprising he was let into the tournament. He didn’t disappoint, hitting a Samoan drop and winning in seconds.
Rob Van Damn with Bill Alfonso vs. Eddie Kingston: Kingston making his debut as well. Bad luck in drawing RVD for his first match. Still, Kingston proved to be quite tough. He mounted minimal offence but RVD hit him with everything. It took a Van Daminator and 2 FIVE STAR FROG SPLESHES to get the win.
Tyler Black vs. Delirious: Black was disqualified for knocking Delirious into the steel steps on the floor during a wild brawl.
Brodie Lee vs. Bryan Danielson: Danielson ate one BIG BOOT but still unloaded all of his suplexes, multiple CATTLE MUTILATIONS and a TRIANGLE CHOKE. A Regal-plex got him the pin.

Card 196: NWA International from Beijing, China (March 6)
Non-Televised Matches
Pepper Gomez vs. Larry Zbyszko: Gomez was disqualified during a brawl on the floor.
Giant Baba vs. The One Man Gang: Baba win with a NECKBREAKER DROP!
Antonio Inoki vs. The Sheik with Abdullah Farouk: Inoki stunned Sheik with a ENZUIGIRI to get an early win.
Televised Matches
Roy Heffernan with Red Berry vs. Al Snow: Many have said it was foolish for Heffernan and Costello to be taking singles matches with a rematch against London & Kendrick looming at LegendsMania. Berry jawed with the crowd barely paying attention while Heffernan was dropped by Head and Al Snow pinned one half of the World Tag Team Champions!
Tag Team Match Doring & Roadkill vs. The Valiant Brothers with Lou Albano: A wild match that was times technical and at others an all out brawl. Danny Doring scored the pin after a Bareback on a bloody Johnny Valiant.
Ilio Dipaolo vs. Al Costello with Red Berry: Costello did better than his partner. Dipaolo submitted to the MARBLE BOR LEGLOCK in a bit of an upset. This has to put Costello in contention for the International Title.
Dennis Condrey vs. George Steele: After ripping open a turnbuckle Steele won his debut with a FLYING HAMMERLOCK!
Tag Team Match Red Bastien & Billy Lyons vs. The Vachon Brothers: A brutal tag match of speed vs. power. Both Reds bled but mounted their own offence as well. Constantly back and forth it was either teams to win. And ATOMIC DROP on Mad Dog got the Reds the win.
Killer Kowalski vs. Frank Gotch: A battered and bloody Gotch made Kowalski tap out to the GOTCH TOEHOLD after escaping the KOWALSKI CLAW several times. The American Hero is on a roll. He’s grabbed a microphone.
Gotch: Sheik, I’m not done with you. LegendsMania will be held in the good old USA, and I want one last match with you. I’ll even let you pick the match. But make no mistake, you will tap out!
Ivan Koloff vs. Yukon Eric: A brutal power match between two heavyweights. Koloff seemed he’s get a dominant win but Eric finally fought back. From that point it was back and forth with both men hitting their finishing maneuvers. Finally, a backbreaker from Kolloff put Eric down for three.
Main Event Rikidozan vs. Bob Orton Sr.: Three straight HIPLOCKS got Rikidozan the dominant win to close the show.
