Heartland Havoc CXVII: You Better You Bet! It is great to be back in Pittsburgh for a tremendous pay-per-view broadcast featuring the superstars of
Heartland Ladies' Wrestling and
Patriot Championship Wrestling! Velvet: Heartland- WHAT IS UP?!?!? I am STOKED to be here! What a night we have planned! SEVEN championship matches here in Pittsburgh! All three of the Ladies' titles are on the line- including a
Steel Cage Match for the
Heartland Ladies' Championship. NICOLE MATTHEWS is defending against
IVELISSE- and that could get ugly.
Teddy: It had to be dat way, baby doll. Will all the malarkey goin' down between those ladies, we need a cage just to keep all the partners OUT of there and just let these two decide it for themselves.
EpicDave: And of course, BOTH the World Championships will be on the line, including our Main Event for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.
TERRY FUNK is defending against
RIC FLAIR- and that means
JIMMY HART, BOBBY HEENAN, and who knows who else will be surrounding the ring for that showdown. And as always- when it's pay-per-view time, ALL of tonight's action will be streamed live on the

Patriot Tag Team ChampionshipTHE FANTASTICS (c) vs. THE FABULOUS KANGAROOSThe Fantastics took care of business in the opening contest with a decisive win over the Kangaroos. Bobby and Tommy hit several slick double-team moves, setting the stage for Fulton to pin Costello with the Fantastic Cradle.

THE FANTASTICS RETAIN THE PATRIOT TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Apter: Rogers and Fulton are the premier tag team in PCW- and they proved it here tonight.
EpicDave: You got that right. The Kangaroos are a top-tier tag team- but tonight the Fantastics put them to the side indominant fashion. Now, fans- our first ladies' match of the evening- and it's gonna be a donnybrook.
JENNACIDE has been causing all sorts of trouble as the backup to
IVELISSE- but these two have manipulated their way into the title picture. And now, Jennacide gets her shot at the
Mistress of Mayhem Championship!Mistress of Mayhem ChampionshipKELLY KLEIN (c) vs. JENNACIDEAs expected, this match was a slobberknocker! Despite the size difference, Kelly tossed Jennacide around the ring with a variety of suplexes, doing plenty of damage to the challenger. Jennacide responded with an onslaught of knees and forearms, then floored Kelly with a massive clothesline!
Velvet: Wow! These two are being the daylights out of each other!
Action spilled out of the ring, and the intensity picked up. Jennacide whacked Kelly with a pipe wrench, leaving the champion gasping on the arena floor.
IVELISSE came to ringside in support of Jennacide, but she was quickly escorted away. Kelly recovered and whipped Jennacide into the steel security railing! Both women were exhaused, and Kelly made a move to pick up the ring steps. Jennacide tried to grab the steps away from Kelly, but Kelly won the tug-of-war and slammed the ring steps into the ribs of Jennacide! Kelly wasted no time, locking on her guillotine choke and gaining the knockout victory.

Velvet: Wow! You talk about the battle of the titans! Good on Kelly for getting the win- those two kicked the crap out of each other! I know I am supposed to be objective, but everybody knows the BS that Ivelisse and Jennacide have put me through and I am glad she lost tonight.
Teddy: Now, baby doll, you have a job to do, so you make sure and call it straight down the middle. Now- before we move on, we have a Special Announcement for you fine people from
CHEERLEADER MELISSA.The fans cheer as Melissa makes her way down to the ring.Velvet: Oh, no… I hope Melissa is not going to retire! She is the GREATEST wrestler in Heartland history! And I don't just mean the greatest ladies' wrestler- she is a 10-time champion, and NOBODY will top that! I think the Heartland needs a Hall of Fame- and Melissa should be the first inductee.
Melissa arrives at ringside. Velvet gives Melissa a hug and hands her the microphone. Melissa: Thanks, Velvet. I appreciate the time. It's been a great career! I have won the
Heartland Ladies' Championship 11 times. I have been
Ladies' Wrestler of the Year 6 times, and I have won the
Filsinger Cup 4 times. I have nothing left to prove.
Teddy: Melissa- my home girl, listen up. You are the best of the best and we want you to go on wrestling forever. But if you think it's time to go- you know what? I think Velvet has a great idea- a
Heartland Hall of Fame!Melissa wipes a tear from her eye, but before she can respond, MSCHIF dashes down to ringside. Melissa instinctively puts up her fists, but MsChif takes a step back and takes a microphone.MsChif: Nothing? Nothing left to prove? Melissa… you're not going to walk away that easily. For all of your honors- you have never been a
Heartland Ladies' Tag Team Champion. So… what do you think? We've been together before… so why don't we put
MELISSCHIF together again and take a run at the Tag Team Titles?
The fans erupt at the suggestion of Melissa teaming with MsChif. The two embrace and leave ringside together.EpicDave: How about THAT? I thought we were about to say goodbye to Melissa forever- but MsChif saved the day! The career of Cheerleader Melissa will continue in the Tag Team Division! Now- let's get back to the ring for tonight's No Disqualification Showdown!
Loser Leaves Town ShowdownKILLER KOWALSKI vs. EDDIE GILBERTFrustrations were evident as one-time allies Kowalski and Gilbert locked heads. Kowalski started the match off with a splash as he hauled Gilbert to the restroom and humiliated him with a swirlie! Gilbert tried to escape down the arena steps, but a stiff clothesline from Kowalski sent Gilbert careening down the aisle. Kowalski continued to put the boots to Gilbert, despite the attempted interference of
DOUG GILBERT & TOMMY GILBERT! Apter: Doug and Tommy Gilbert? Where did they come from?
Kowalski was unfazed, picking up a steel chair and chasing both the outsiders away from ringside! Eddie attempted a sneak attack on Kowalski, but Kowalski hoisted up Eddie and slammed him to the arena floor! Eddie was barely able to get to his feet, and Kowalski immediately clamped on the Kowalski Claw and put Gilbert to sleep!
WINNER: KILLER KOWALSKI
Apter: That is one of the most hellacious beatings I have ever seen! Kowalski was not to be denied- and believe it or not, I think the fans enjoyed that a bit.
EpicDave: No matter how you slice it- Eddie Gilbert's tenure in
Patriot Championship Wrestling has come to a bitter end. And with that- we move to the
Heartland Ladies' Tag Team Championship Match!
Heartland Ladies' Tag Team ChampionshipMERCEDES MARTINEZ & NICOLE SAVOY (c) vs. THE PINK LADIESMadison started the match on fire, quickly taking control on Savoy, but Savoy survived the onlaught. Eagles and McKay tagged in and out effectively, until Mercedes tagged in and LIT UP Jessie with a nasty series of chops. Madison bent the rules, clanging Mercedes with the ring bell and catching a near-fall with her Hellbound finisher. Mercedes was in trouble, but she caught McKay outside the ring and dropped McKay stomach first across the steel ring railing.
The champions continued to take the action out of the ring and gave Jessie a prolonged beating. Jessie fought back gamely, but when Madison came in for a double-team, Nicole clotheslined both the Pink Ladies to the mat! Mercedes seized the moment, hitting the ring with Savoy to drop Jessie with the face-first double suplex to score the pin.

Velvet: What a great match! The Pink Ladies gave the champs all they could handle- but Mercedes and Nicole have all the teamwork and they finally came out on top. Congratulations to both teams for a great match!
EpicDave: And now it is time for the
Patriot Heavyweight Championship! I have been looking forward to this battle since the day it was signed.
Patriot Heavyweight ChampionshipBUDDY ROGERS (c) vs. KURT ANGLEAngle and Rogers hooked up for an instant classic which thrilled the wrestling purists in attendance. Rogers controlled the pace of the match with a brilliant array of dropkicks and flying knee smashes, but Angle countered with punishing suplexes to wear down the champion. Angle tried without success to duplicate the aerial tactics, giving Rogers the opening he needed to catch Angle with the Figure-Four Grapevine for a hard-fought victory.
WINNER: BUDDY ROGERS
BUDDY ROGERS RETAINS THE PATRIOT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Apter: BUDDY ROGERS has survived a major challenge from Kurt Angle in Angle's own home town to solidify his status as
Patriot Heavyweight Champion. Congratulations are definitely in order!
EpicDave: That is definitely a profound observation, sir. Buddy Rogers is a pretty boy- and he has certainly captured the fancy of
PCW Commissioner TORRIE WILSON- but he is a skilled competitor in the squared circle and once again tonight he has proven his mettle.
Velvet: Speaking of metal... the Steel Cage is coming down. It's time for the
Heartland Ladies' Championship! Heartland Ladies' Championship: Steel Cage MatchNICOLE MATTHEWS (c) vs. IVELISSEThe anger between these ladies was obvious from the beginning. Ivelisse pelted Nicole with kicks of all sorts, leaving Nicole stunned. Nicole absorbed a lot of punishment, but battled back, using the cage as a weapon to bust open Ivelisse. Nicole took over, dropping Ivelisse with a pair of brainbusters and slamming the bloody face of Ivelisse to the mat with the Vancouver Maneuver for the pin.
WINNER: NICOLE MATTHEWS
NICOLE MATTHEWS RETAINS THE HEARTLAND LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP
Velvet: Nicole wins! Congratulations to
NICOLE MATTHEWS for holding on to the
Heartland Ladies' Championship. She definitely messed up Ivelisse bad in that match. Maybe she can put this whole Ivelisse stuff behind her now.
Teddy: I tell you what- the steel cage definitely did its job. No interference, no nonsense from nobody, and the best woman wins.
Velvet: And Ivelisse gets her head ripped open. That ain't a bad thing either.
EpicDave: Let's not get carried away, Velvet. Ivelisse is not well liked by the fans throughout the Heartland- but I don't think anyone once to see one of our competitors get badly injured.
Velvet: They both knew the risks as soon as they stepped into the cage. No sympathy from me.
EpicDave: Fair enough. Now that the cage has been raised and the shards of Ivelisse's face have been cleaned up, it's time for the
NWA World Tag Team Championship!NWA World Tag Team ChampionshipJACK & JERRY BRISCO (c) vs. THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESSThe Brisco Brothers were on the top of their game tonight. The brothers isolated Lane early in the match, and gave him a serious pummeling. Eaton came to the defense of his partner, finally enabling an exhausted Lane to make the tag. Eaton unleashed a flurry on Jack, and a four-way brawl ensued! Things went from bad to worse when
CACTUS JACK & KEVIN SULLIVAN appeared at ringside! Cactus & Sullivan attempted to interfere, and Cactus viciously BIT Jerry Brisco!
Apter: Are you kidding me? Get those guys outta here!
Eaton and Lane attempted to take advantage of the distraction, as Eaton went to the air and stunned Jack off the top turnbuckle. Eaton battle both Briscos, but when Lane attempted to join the action, Lane and Eaton collided! Amidst the confusion, Jack caught Lane coming off the ropes with a Rolling Reverse Cradle for a clean pin!

JACK & JERRY BRISCO RETAIN THE NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Apter: Congratulations to
JACK & JERRY BRISCO for a hard-fought win here tonight. Once again, they prove to the world why they are such deserving champions. But no matter what they do, they can't seem to shake the spectre of Kevin Sullivan and Cactus Jack.
EpicDave: It's tough enough to be World Tag Team Champions- but with Cactus and Sullivan lurking, you never know what could happen. And now, fans- we take you to tonight's long-anticipated Main Event for the
NWA World Heavyweight Championship!The fans were on the edge of their seats for the introductions as Flair came to ringside, accompanied by BOBBY HEENAN, CURT HENNIG, & BIG JOHN STUDD. Not to be outdone, JIMMY HART came to ringside, megaphone in hand, leading TERRY FUNK to the ring along with JACKIE FARGO & SHANE DOUGLAS. EpicDave: The battle lines have been drawn- and two long-time rivals are ready to go to war for the top prize in the sport!
Main Event: NWA World Heavyweight ChampionshipTERRY FUNK (c) vs. 'NATURE BOY' RIC FLAIRThings broke down quickly as Flair greeted Funk with a slap across the face to open the match! Fisticuffs erupted, and the men traded blows until Flair dropped Funk with a nasty chop block to the knee. Flair smelled blood, and immediately went to work on the knee. Flair nearly pinned Funk with his feet on the ropes, but a timely distraction by Jimmy Hart interrupted the three-count. Funk rolled out to the arena floor, but in the midst of the chaos, Curt Hennig dove off the ring apron and nailed Funk with a flying clothesline! Studd rolled Funk back into the ring, where Flair locked on the Figure-Four. Hart brought his megaphone to the apron and swung wildly, but his blow was misdirected and slammed into the skull of Funk instead! In the wake of the megaphone shot, Funk was unable to escape and forced to give it up!

RIC FLAIR REGAINS THE NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
EpicDave: Ladies and gentlemen, history has been made here in Pittsburgh!
'NATURE BOY' RIC FLAIR has captured the
NWA World Heavyweight Championship! No doubt, the shenanigans around the ring in this match played a factor- but when it was all said and done- Flair had the superior game plan, and his compadres executed it to perfection. Congratulations to the Nature Boy for becoming the first-ever FOUR-TIME NWA Champion! What a tremendous conclusion to an awesome night of wrestling here at
Heartland Havoc CXVII: You Better You Bet. Believe it or not- we had SEVEN championship matches here tonight- and only one title change.
