GWF Classics #90: Road to Star Bash 08.19.2080 from Dione Saturndome, Saturn
- GWF News - -We have crowned our second annual F-Cup winner and it is none other than Torin Caelum. Speculation fueled by the man himself has been running rampant about whether or not he will continue his career in the squared circle and challenge for the title as warranted by winning the tournament. Caelum will speak to the GWF fans at the top of the show! -The man Caelum bested in the finals, the Mighty Grogan, has been displaying a bad attitude lately and seems to think he's owed a title shot after his performances throughout the year... His rookie year... How will that jive with what Caelum has to say? Will Omega continue taking on all-comers including Grogan? -In the aftermath of the tag team title match, Caiman took out his frustrations and aggression on Tantalis outside the ring. The Estorians, usually very secretive about such things, have admitted a small injury was suffered and as much as they’d like to challenge the champs again, they’re waiting until the 100%. -The GWF promoter board has heard the fans and the potential challengers and decided that the number one contenders are none other than Cosmos and Star Warrior, the Gamemasters! These two youngsters will be receiving their very first title shot at Star Bash! -Meanwhile, Parsec has asked for a singles match with Caiman and will get it tonight! -And in our main event, the CrossCurrents have challenged Imperial Alliance to a No DQ match! Will this challenge backfire as they step into the ring with one of it's dirtiest players, Ricken Prince?
Mangus vs. Silvar Mangus defeated Silvar with a pinning combo at 1:27 Match Rating: 0.00 Match Notes: Silvar started the match off with a headlock, but then went for a bit move early and Mangus looked to capitalize.
Silvar tried to shoot him into the ropes and hit a sunset flip, but Mangus dropped down and grabbed the legs for a quick 1, 2, 3!
After the match, Mangus got on the mic and threw out challenges to anyone with the guts to face him!
Commander Sam answered the call but told Mangus he was no longer a threat. He had his sights set on one thing, the GWF Championship and whether it's Grogan or Omega, he's next in line, but he'll be happy to treat Mangus to another beating at Star Bash!
- Torin Caelum - TC: I’ve spent the past few weeks doing a lot thinking. I felt like I’ve been staring something down. A spectre I never expected, but somehow couldn’t deny. You see, I’ve spent the last 20 plus years living a dream. And for the past 6 I’ve lived that dream here in the GWF. I’ve given everything I had to the GWF and to all of you. And in return this organization, my fellow competitors, and all of you, the fans, have given me something in that I can never truly repay. I was your first champion, probably my proudest moment, and I tried to be a fighting champion at that. I scoured the galaxy looking for other competitors and eventually I partnered with El Virtuoso to win the tag titles as well. I faced down anyone and everyone. The Mensans, Santon, Morpheus, and Omega… But the man that pushed me the most, made me want it the most, gave me matches I will forever remember from the blood, sweat, and tears, and scars I will carry… K.O. Keller. Thank you Keller. From the very beginning it felt like it was you and I. I appreciate you and I respect you. But there’s a deeper truth here. From the beginning I knew I was probably on borrowed time; that I was in my twilight. This life takes its toll. There is no getting around it. I’ve always held myself to the highest standard and could feel myself losing a step these past couple of years. This year’s CLIMAX tournament for the F-Cup was an incredible experience. And it truly brought me full circle: one more dance with victory. I’ve done it all here. If my legacy were to be only the achievements I’ve accomplished in a GWF ring, I would be more than proud. So I am taking this opportunity to say thank you. To sum it all up in one word: gratitude. I am grateful for you fans, this company, and all the men that stepped through those ropes with me. And so… There’s only one thing left to do. I am officially announcing my retirement as an active competitor in the GWF. I will not pursue the title shot guaranteed by my F-Cup victory. Thank you all!
(Every fan is on their feet chanting Caelum's name. There are more than a few tears in the eyes of young and old fan alike. Omega leads most of the roster out to the entrance ramp as they applaud as well. K.O. Keller parts the sea of competitors and makes his way to the ring. A handshake. A hug. A raised arm. It's quite a sight to see. Noticeably absent are Mangus, Ricken Prince, and Might Grogan...)
Parsec vs. Caiman Parsec defeated Caiman with an ESTORIAN LOCK at 12:27 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: Caiman went a little berserk after his last tag title defense with Hechilles and caused a minor injury to Tantalis. Parsec is looking for a measure of revenge here.
And he got it. He immediately started stretching Caiman and peppering him with stiff shots when he wasn't syncing in a hold.
Caiman had a couple of bursts of offense, but Parsec was never concerned in spite of Caiman escaping the ESTORIAN LOCK and a couple of pin attempts.
The finish came when Parsec locked in his finishing hold the second time.
Big win for Parsec and the Estorians will absolutely be looking for another tag shot down the road.
Parsec grabbed the mic and told Hechilles and Caiman that he hopes they keep the belts after Star Bash, but if they don't that the Gamemasters will be easy enough work, because no matter what, they're taking they're titles back!
Star Warrior vs. Hechilles Hechilles defeated Star Warrior with THE END at 12:21 Match Rating: 3.75 Match Notes: The Gamemasters will get this tag title shot at Star Bash, but first Star Warrior challenges Hechilles.
This was an incredibly entertaining match and Star Warrior was able to stay one step ahead of Hechilles time and again. He was a ball of fire and the fans were going crazy for his offense.
There was a great bit where both men kept ducking clotheslines and chops before Warrior hit a big Nova Blast and the fans leapt to their feet.
Star Warrior made a misstep with a plancha, but somehow was able to run Hechilles into the guardrail for a quick breather.
Still unsteady he went up top and waited for Hechilles to come back in the ring... Hechilles catches him! What a display! THE END! 1, 2, 3!
Incredible finish after a great showing from the young Star Warrior. Hechilles took a pounding, but scores big.
Cosmos came out to help his partner to the back and told Hechilles things would be different come Star Bash! It's their destiny to wear gold!
- No Disqualification - Imperial Alliance vs. The Crosscurrents Mimic defeated Vortex with a MIMIC NERVE SLEEPER at 18:57 Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: This feud has been building for a few months now and in hopes of getting a decisive win over Imperial Alliance, the CrossCurrents agreed to a No DQ match!
The action was hot form the start and both teams battled back and forth. Mimic was great in this and pulled out some excellent moves early, including copying Vortex's style and trying to beat him with his own moves!
Ricken Prince tried to end things early with a ROYAL DECREE, but to no avail.
The CrossCurrents would bounce back and took the action outside even out brawling the rule breaking Prince!
Vortex was busted open after some wild brawling in and out of the ring, but came back with a vengeance and rang Prince's bell with a big chair shot!
Prince was able to use an illegal choke to stop Vortex in his tracks and make the tag to Mimic, but Thetis would come in and even the odds.
Unfortunately a mistimed double-team clothesline leveled both Thetis and Vortex and Mimic capitalized by locking in the MIMIC NERVE SLEEPER on the bloody Vortex and that's all she wrote!
Mimic shines in another great outing. Are the CrossCurrents out of their depth in this feud with the rule-breakers? It sure seems that way.
- Mighty Grogan - (Mighty Grogan makes his way to the ring and he doesn't seem to be in a good mood at all...)
MG: Cry me a river! That’s what I have to say to Torin Caelum and all the whiny fans! You make me sick! I came here and displayed greatness from day one! I am 10 times the wrestler Caelum ever was! It was a fluke he beat me at CLIMAX! So I’m here to take what’s mine, dammit! Omega! Since that broken down old fool has taken his F-Cup and run for the hills... I have beaten everyone put in front of me these past 8 months. Even before CLIMAX I had indisputably earned a title shot! I’m challenging you to a match at Star Bash! You got any guts? If you have any at all, you’ll sign the dotted line and make it happen!
(Omega appears at the ramp with the Galaxian title draped over his shoulder. He makes his way into the ring and stares down Grogan.)
O: What happened to you? Grogan, when you came into the GWF at Deimos, I was not only impressed, I was happy. Happy to welcome a spirited and respectful competitor into this organization. But now... Now all I see is someone who's forgotten their manners. Someone who has lost all respect for those that built this place and that includes me, these fans, and Torin Caelum! And to make it official, I would be more than happy to teach you the lesson you so obviously deserve. So you're on! At Star Bash, you'll get your match! You'll get your shot!
(Grogan cheap shots Omega as he turns to walk away! He then grabs the belt and smashes Omega in the face with it! "I don't respect you! I don't respect these people! I respect victory! I respect me! I am a champion! I will be the best in the damn galaxy!" Omega is busted open! Star Warrior, Cosmos, and Morpheus make the save as Grogan drops the belt and heads for the hills... What a scene!)

GWF Classics #91: Star Bash 08.26.2080 from Eureka Asteroid Arena, Eureka Asteroid, Mars
The Windriders vs. Imperial Alliance This match ended in a draw (Time Limit Draw) at 30:00 Match Rating: 4.75 Match Notes: Opening up Star Bash the Imperial Alliance takes on the popular Wind Riders!
Rama and Tano have had quite a year. They started off earning the fans ire with the their treatment of the Gamemasters, but quickly turned things around after Rama was injured by Defiance! They scored a measure of revenge and a big win by beating Defiance in a recent POW match.
Imperial Alliance has also generated some momentum recently and Mimic continues to put on great performances in spite of Ricken Prince's boasting and dirty tactics.
This was simply a fantastic way to start the evening and a prime example of the very best of tag team wrestling. It had a little bit of everything and both teams gave it everything they had.
Rama and Tano arguably are the best at working the tag and double team innovation in the GWF and that may put them in the conversation for best tag team in the GWF. Tano took a beating, but kept coming back again and again and worked the tag with Rama to recuperate. Rama was amazing with repeated trips to the top and a pair of planchas that brought the crowd to their feet each time.
Prince used his strength and some big moves to apply the pressure, but was shocked and none too happy when Tano kicked out of the ROYAL DECREE!
Mimic was great as usual and used some excellent offense and even slapped on the MIMIC NERVE SLEEPER, but Rama would make the ropes.
Things devolved into a huge brawl on the outside at one point, but the ref restored order after threatening a double DQ!
The allure of the outside was too strong though and the finish of the match saw both Tano and Mimic busted open after some brawling! The two bloody competitors risked a count out and DQ but as they rolled back in the ring and squared off the bell rang to signal the time limit expiring!
Incredible stuff and the fans were pretty hot the whole way through.
Prince berated Mimic after the match about not being able to get it done!
K.O. Keller vs. Morpheus Morpheus defeated K.O. Keller with a TRIP TO HADES at 7:50 Match Rating: 0.10 Match Notes: This is a return match rom GW5. A match that was a brutal, bloody, 40+ minute brawl.
Word has it that K.O. Keller has been very reflective in the wake of the retirement of hi respected rival, Torin Caelum.
Morpheus, on the other hand, finds himself all out of opportunities as the board declared after his last unsuccessful challenge, he would not be getting one for a very long time.
Morpheus exerted a methodical slow control early on and then exploded with offense! Keller was reeling and then took multiple TRIPS TO HADES seemingly just for stepping in the ring with Morpheus!
Action spilled outside and Morpheus used the environment to this advantage. Keller was soon busted open and blood streamed down his face!
K.O. attempted to get something started, but Morpheus shrugged the offense off and went to work with a huge flying lariat and then punished him until he hit another huge lariat out of the corner followed by an unmerciful TRIP TO HADES to destroy Keller.
Fans are shocked and the ref had to check on the bloody barely moving K.O. Keller.
Morpheus has a mic...
M: That... That is a not so subtle reminder of who you are dealing with in this ring! The board may have taken away my ability to challenge for the Galaxian title, but that does not make me any less dangerous! I've heard and read a lot of crap these past few months about a "kinder gentler Morpheus" and the desire to have the old Morpheus back... Well, be careful what you wish for...
(Morpheus throws down the mic and storms out of the ring and up the ramp.)
Defiance vs. Paladin Power Blood defeated Moonstrike with a DQ at 5:07 Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: These two teams have left plenty of blood and sweat on the mats of rings and floors of arenas across the galaxy. They do not like one another and they never have. Both teams are former tag team champions, and Paladin Power are arguably the greatest GWF tag team in history.
Jammer wasted no time showing Flare who was boss and dropped him with a DDT. Defiance would try to work the double team, but it backfired and Moonstrike was tagged in. He and Blood immediately started brawling and when Blood was knocked out of the ring Moonstrike attempted a dive, but caught himself as Blood ran.
Moonstrike was set off for some reason and took the fight to Blood outside and decided to grab the ring bell for emphasis. He hit Blood with it and drew the DQ! Jammer ran to his partner's aid and Solar Flare did the same.
Blood was bleeding, but grabbed a chair as an equalizer and officials had to separate the teams or they would've fought all night long.
Commander Sam vs. Mangus Commander Sam defeated Mangus with a DQ at 13:42 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: From one of the biggest tag rivalries in GWF history to one of the most heated and hateful singles rivalries, Commander Sam squared off with Mangus.
Mangus used gouges and biting right out of the gate and had Sam staggered with the underhanded moves.
Sam would mount a big comeback, though, and scored a near fall after a ring-shaking superplex.
They stuck to their classic game plan and brawled around the ringside area as the fans ate it up.
Mangus would mount a comeback and scored a near fall of his own with a neckbreaker, but Sam rallied back and hit SAM'S ATOMIC DROP!
Much to the surprise of the crowd, Mangus got the shoulder up.
Sam persisted, but Mangus was able to rally back one more time and hit a big Alien Romp!
Sam rolled out and Mangus, pressing his advantage would follow. But he no longer had winning in mind. He simply wanted to inflict as much damage as he could on Commander Sam...
He grabbed a chair and began wailing on Sam's back as the ref called for the DQ.
Mangus dropped the chair and shouted at Commander Sam that he better be looking over his shoulder because Mangus will do whatever it takes to make sure Sam never gets his title shot...
- 2/3 Falls - The Gamemasters vs. Hechilles & Caiman for the Galaxian Tag Team Championship Star Warrior defeated Hechilles with a CETUS SLEEPER at 24:27 Caiman defeated Star Warrior with a DQ at 39:00 Hechilles defeated Star Warrior with THE END at 56:47 Match Rating: 5.00 Match Notes: Star Warrior and Cosmos have waited a long time for this opportunity but the tag team champions, Hechilles and Caiman are in no hurry to drop the titles!
From the get go, the Gamemasters did everything they should to dictate the pace and make the champs wrestle their match. Star Warrior busted out the CETUS SLEEPER early and often while Cosmos was reliable for some big moves included a huge superplex that nearly won them the first fall.
Of course the champs weren't going to just lay down. Caiman hit a wicked brain buster on Cosmos for a near fall of his own.
Things would continue on in an incredible see saw battle with plenty of excellent tag work.
The first fall finally came in a frenzied manner as Cosmos brought the fight to Hechilles big time with the aforementioned superplex. A tag brought in his partner and Star Warrior slapped on the CETUS SLEEPER while Cosmos held off Caiman and the Gamemasters snag the all important first fall.
The match continued as Hechilles was a mess and needed to get out of the ring. He was able to bring Caiman in who now had to do all the heavy lifting.
He brought it and in spite of the Gamemasters working the tag, he was able to build up to THE HANDICAPPER on Star Warrior!
Cosmos was in and hit the Cosmic Skull Crusher! The ref warned him but he wouldn't leave the ring and as the official hit the 5 count, he called for the bell! He awarded the second fall to the champions by way of disqualification!
Cosmos was hot and the fans did not seem too happy with this call...
The final fall was no less thrilling as all four men brought their best to the table. After all the big moves, finishers, and near falls it came down to sheer grit and determination, maybe even a little luck.
The match was relentlessly back and forth and the fans were at a fever pitch. Hechilles nearly put away Cosmos, but he rallied back and Star Warrior came in as he and Hechilles went move for move.
Hechilles then hit a big Russian Leg Sweep and followed it up with THE END to score the 1, 2, 3!
What a war! The champs retain, but they are exhausted in a match that nearly went the hour time limit!
In the middle of the ring all four men barely standing eye each other before the challengers extend their hands. This has to be the match of Cosmos and Star Warrior's young careers. A defining moment even in defeat. The champs hesitate but then shake their hands and the fans give a loud ovation.
[Crazy match! 12 fatigue tokens between the four and lots of 10, 11, & 12 rolls on PINs to keep the match going in the final fall. The Gamemasters were so so close.]
- 2/3 Falls - Omega vs. Mighty Grogan for the Galaxian Championship Omega defeated Mighty Grogan with a TOMAHAWK THRUST at 3:48 Omega defeated Mighty Grogan with a COSMIC WAR DANCE at 22:03 Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: Mighty Grogan is looking to capture the Galaxian Championship in his first year in the GWF. But to do that he'll have to go through Omega.
Omega has taken some of Grogan's trash talking and his recent antics personally and wants to not only retain the richest prize in the game, but teach Grogan a little respect in the process.
They jockeyed for position early on, but Grogan came out with a big DDT and a near fall! He gloated over Omega, but it was very short-lived.
Omega showed he gives as good as he gets and was able to hit a Cetus Suplex and then apply the excruciating Indian Death Lock.
Grogan made the ropes, but as he climbed to his feet, Omega signaled for and hit a big TOMAHAWK THURST to score the first fall in quick fashion.
The next fall was the champion doing everything he could to give Grogan that lesson, but the challenger would come back for short flurries and trash talk Omega!
Grogan scored a near fall after a pair of sick looking Russian Sickles! He tosses Omega out of the ring and in the ultimate display of disrespect, he kicked him while he was rolling back in!
Omega was having none of hit and grabbed his leg, pulled him out, and rammed him into the guardrail much to the fans delight!
However, Grogan avoided a second TOMAHAWK THRUST and forced Omega to slow the pace down as the champ tried to grind him into submission.
Eventually, the champ his a flying tomahawk chop and followed it by the COSMIC WAR DANCE to get the 1, 2, 3 and retain his title in two straight falls!
What a night here at Star Bash! The GWF will return for the Main Event as we begin the build to Galaxies Collide!

Thanks, TTX . Appreciate people following along as always. It was a fun card. Felt like one of the better supercards in a while. Though the main may have fell a little flat. Have to figure out where to go with Grogan from here. I have some thoughts. The tag match was one of my favorite matches I've rolled out in a long time. I was disappointed with the DQ, but love the possibilities it opens up. I really thought the Gamemasters were going to do it. I've been losing the tag division lately. Lots of good stuff to play with. Here's the next card coming up! Exciting main event as Morpheus and Omega will wrestle as a team for the first time in 4 years! Keller is looking for revenge and Sam is eyeing a title shot, but will have to keep his out for Mangus too. Plus lots of tag wrestlers in singles action leading to some return matches down the road... GWF Classics #92: The Main Event 09.21.2080 from Cybele Palace, Asteroid Belt
- GWF News - -We are coming off of the incredible Star Bash ‘80 card that featured one of the greatest tag matches in GWF history as the Gamemasters came so close to dethroning the current champions. And, in the main event, Omega beat Mighty Grogan in two straight falls!
-Cosmos and Star Warrior have made their intentions clear: they want another shot. The GWF Board has determined that the Estorians are technically next in line, but as Tantalis is still out with a back injury, the board has determined that the Gamemasters will get one more shot at the very next Main Event! The winner of that contest will face the challenge of the Estorians at our next supercard, Galaxies Collide!
-Grogan has declined interviews and we’re not even sure if he’s in the building tonight… Could the defeat at Star Bash be too much for the rookie? Is he sulking? Or is he simply planning his next move? There’s little doubt that he’s been able to get past all other competition this year with the exception of Torin Caelum and Omega. With Caelum retired and Omega getting another successful defense in, where does the Mighty One go from here? And will his attitude return to the more respectful competitor we saw at the beginning of the year? Or will his mean streak grow bolder?
-And, in our blockbuster main event, for the first time in four years, Omega and Morpheus will reform the Guardians to answer the challenge of K.O. Keller and Commander Sam. After Keller’s stinging loss to Morpheus at Star Bash, he’s looking for payback, especially because he feels Morpheus made a fool of him with his words after the match. Sam, on the other hand, is currently eyeing a title shot against Omega. Will it finally be Sam’s time? Or will Mangus ruin this opportunity and force yet another chapter in one of the bloodiest and most heated rivalries in GWF history!
Mimic vs. Tano This match ended in a draw (Time Limit Expired) at 30:00 Match Rating: 4.25 Match Notes: The Wind Riders and Imperial Alliance have quickly developed an intense little rivalry.
Rama and Tano are firmly back in their position as fan-favorites, while the crowd has no love for Ricken Prince. The most interesting story has to be Mimic, though. He's gone from being something of an after-thought and largely ignored, to a villain, to now, after years of impressing the fans in the ring, someone that is actually getting something of a positive reaction to the crowd. There are even signs in the crowd telling Mimic to dump Prince... Prince has certainly never been exactly nice to his partner... But he pays well...
This match started off and it was all Tano. He used fast-paced, high-impact moves to not only entertain the live crowd, but also take the mime off his feet.
Mimic made a comeback out of no where and even applied his finisher. Tano would make the ropes and mount a comeback of his own.
Both men's partners would make their presence known and Rama may have prevented his partner from being taken out.
Prince, was far less subtle about his distractions and nearly drew the DQ for his partner.
Things started to really breakdown and after brawling around the ring, Tano was wearing the crimson mask! This match was intense and I don't thin fans were expecting the level of it.
Tano would take control of the see saw action again as the crowd cheered him on! After a superplex, he went for the cover, but Ricken Prince pulled the referee's attention. Tano pushed the ref away and even tho, Prince peppered him with shots, he managed to push him off the apron all the way to the guardrail!
Tano hits the DEIMOS DRIVER!! Mimic got the shoulder up!
Incredible... The time limit is running out... Mimic rolls out of the ring before Tano can capitalize. Tano is trying to get to him, but the ref is trying to check on the other man.
Mimic plays possum and then yanks Tano outside! Tano fights back! Mimic gets posted and busted open!
The bell rings as they continue to brawl, both men bleeding.
Rama comes to his partner's aid, supporting him after the match. Prince however looks at his bloodied partner in disgust and leaves up the ramp ahead of him.
What a way to start the night and ramp up this rivalry.
- K.O. Keller Interview - KO: I'm not a man of many words. I usually let these (holding up fists) do the talking for me. But Morpheus, sometimes words deserve a response. You want to use me as a stepping stone back to some imagined glory? You think that I'm a piece of expendable talent to be beaten and tossed away? I am a fighter! I am the toughest man in the GWF and have been for years! One win against me and you think you have opened a door to some sort of redemption. Morpheus... We have not yet begun to fight! I will close your door, I will burn your path, and I will prove to everyone that you are simply one step shy of being a washed-up never was!
(An official shows up and tells Keller something has happened to Commander Sam... The cameras follow the two of them to a locker room area as they rush in... Commander Sam is struggling to get to his feet but falls in a bloody heap on the floor! Officials are tending to him as best they can, but he keeps trying to get back up as Keller tries to help the officials patch him up...
Mangus told him to keep looking over his shoulder!
The interview team tries to catch up with the Cygnusian, he swore it wasn’t him… But that he wasn’t unhappy about it. How will this affect the tag team main event?)
Moonstrike vs. Blood Moonstrike defeated Blood with a DQ at 27:02 Match Rating: 4.75 Match Notes: The rivalry between these two teams extends all the way back to POW and it's been one of the most heated and consistent of the past six years. Both teams are formers owners of the tag team gold and there's little denying that Moonstrike and Blood in particular have been two of the more exciting competitors in the fed.
This was a wild brawl that got very bloody after a ref bump. Their partners were at ringside and definitely assisted in prolonging the match at a couple of points. Blood easily would have had it won after locking in SCAR TISSUE multiple times and not letting up but there was no ref. Moonstrike was a bloody mess and it looked like Blood would still pick up the win as the ref came to.
Moonstrike hit a neck breaker out of no where, though and somehow made it a contest as we passed the 20 minute mark!
Action would spill outside and soon Blood was busted open too! There must be something in the water tonight: blood and guts in two long contests to start this show!
Eventually, all four men were brawling and Jammer took Moonstrike's head off to draw the DQ on his partner!
This feud has reignited in predictable fashion!
Cosmos vs. Caiman Cosmos defeated Caiman with a roll up at 16:40 Match Rating: 4.25 Match Notes: Cosmos was feeling a little raw after costing his team a fall with a questionable DQ in the tag team title match Star Bash. Caiman answered the challenge and has been displaying a little more aggression lately. Not unlike Grogan...
This was a great match! Lots of back and forth action and some great grit was on display from Cosmos.
The youngster made a huge impact with a Cosmic Skull Crusher early on and it was clear he wouldn't be letting the Man from Mangrove get the best of him easily.
There was quite a bit of brawling outside and it was all Caiman could do to avoid a contour after being crushed by another Cosmic Skull Crusher on the outside!
Cosmos would apply THE MASTERLOCK, but a bit of distraction from Hechilles and a reach for the ropes kept Caiman in the match.
Caiman bounced back and began hitting some big power moves to keep Cosmos down... Or try. The youngster would not give up!
Caiman hit the HANDICAPPER, but Star Warrior made turn about fair play by distracting the ref and allowing Cosmos to escape the pin attempt after the finisher!
Cosmos was in trouble, but turned it all around by moving from the corner to evade a charging Caiman. Ever on his toes, he rolled up Caiman as he fell backwards and scored a 1, 2, 3! Incredible!
The Gamemasters are continuing to improve and are clearly gunning to take the titles!
The Guardians vs. Commander Sam & K.O. Keller This match ended in a draw (Double DQ) at 0:58 Match Rating: 0.00 Match Notes: As Keller made his way to the ring, he paused on the ramp and looked to the back. There was speculation as to whether Sam would be able to make it... But then his music hit and, sure enough, Commander Sam, bandaged up Spirit of '76 style, made his way to the ring showing the grit of a true fighter and the fans gave him a big ovation.
There was some grand-standing to being the match as both teams jawed at one another, the hate between Keller and Morpheus was palpable. Sam and Omega were even nose to nose at one point.
The match, however, was shocking in it's short-lived intensity.
Keller wanted Morpheus right away and he got him!
An arm drag takedown showed a slow pace, but as Morpheus started work his way out of it, Keller wound up and hit him with the heart punch!
Morpheus immediately dropped and rolled out!
Keller wasted no time following and as they started to brawl they both took liberties and neither the ref nor their partners could establish any control.
After repeated warnings, the ref had no choice but to DQ them both!
Commander Sam was near the guardrail with Keller when a "fan" began attacking him!
It was Mangus! Mangus is here and he smashes the already bloodied Sam with his brand! Keller is ready to fight and even Omega comes to Sam's aid!
Mangus escapes through the crowd as officials see to the crimson masked Sam...
Morpheus, devious as ever, jumps Keller and they begin fighting again!
Omega tries to separate the men, but winds up getting involved in the brawl!
The fighting finally subsides as officials break the men up. Sam, however, is in the middle of the ring, spirit of '76 style again, and has a mic!
CS: Mangus! Time and time again you prove you cannot take defeat! You can't even face me like a man. But I shouldn't be surprised. I've known you were less than a man for years now! So, I tell you what... I'll give you what you want! I challenge you! I challenge you to a Last Man Standing Match! And once I take out the trash in the name of Earth... Omega, I'm coming for that title!

Wel that was a quick main event. Fun match between Mimic and Tano to open up things as well.

Haha, yeah, TTX, the main event definitely did not go the way I was expecting. Fun card to play none the less and those opening two matches were marathons. Mostly due to the interference from partners but still... Next Main Event is shaping up to be pretty stacked, actually. Thanks for following along and the comments!

I've been itching to get back to posting my Classics fed for a while now and the recent podcast with Todd and Mike was the final nudge I needed.
GWF Classics #93: The Main Event 10.12.2080 from Algol Double Star Arena, Perseus
- GWF News - - We are on the road to Galaxies Collide and have an incredible evening of matches ahead. The fourth annual super-card is sure to excite, but questions need to be answered before the matchmakers' sign on the dotted lines.
- Imperial Alliance and the Wind Riders have ignited an interesting rivalry these past couple of cards, and Rama will get a shot at Ricken Prince. After DQs and draws in tag and singles action, will tonight's match render a decisive finish?
- Like and time and taxes, Defiance and Paladin Power's rivalry is a sure thing. Solar Flare and Jammer take to the ring tonight to further that issue, but it's only a matter of time before all four men take to the ring again. Whoever gains an edge could find themselves looking at a title shot...
- Speaking of the tag titles, Hechilles & Caiman have looked unstoppable since taking the titles off The Estorians at Galactic Wars in April. Once they ended the 14-month reign of Tantalis and Parsec, they look as though they want to equal if not surpass their dominance. First, they have to get by the return challenge of Star Warrior and Cosmos. The board has announced the winners of this bout will indeed take on the Estorians at Galaxies Collide.
- Of course, the return bout between the Estorians and the tag team title holders has been on hold since Tantalis was stretchered out of the arena after a title match devolved into a wild donnybrook. They're gunning for Hechilles and Caiman, regardless of titles, but there's no doubt they'd like to see the champs retain tonight.
- In our main event of the evening, Commander Sam has challenged Mangus to a Last Man Standing Match! We thought this feud had been put to rest after their brutal Barbed Wire Cage Match at Deimos, but Mangus has orchestrated multiple attacks on Sam the past few months, and it comes to a head tonight.
- This match could have title picture ramifications too. Sam has been in line to challenge Omega, but a loss tonight could force the board to move things around. Will Sam keep his shot regardless? Or could another challenger materialize if he loses?
Rama vs. Ricken Prince Rama defeated Ricken Prince with a leaping DDT at 7:15 Match Rating: 2.25 Match Notes: The simmering tensions between Imperial Alliance and the Wind Riders have led to a run of excellent, fiery matches, and this one started with some excellent chain wrestling.
Prince set Rama off with a slap to the face, and the Wind RIder never looked back. He scored big with the DEIMOS DRIVER and looked to get the win, but Mimic interfered long enough to get punched off the apron so that Rama could go back to work.
Prince tried to get back into it but never really had a chance, and after a big frog splash, Rama hit a leaping DDT to grab the 1, 2, 3 and score a great win.
After the match, Prince continued his streak of berating Mimic - asking "where were you?!?"
Solar Flare vs. Jammer Solar Flare defeated Jammer with a PALADIN MISSILE at 9:13 Match Rating: 3.25 Match Notes: In the storied history between Defiance and Paladin Power, Solar Flare and Jammer have only met three other times in singles action. Flare has two wins, one by DQ, and Jammer only one victory in a nearly 30 minute POW rules war. It's a rivalry that will only end when these guys decide to hang up the boots, but until then, like death and taxes, Defiance and Paladin Power will continue to trade fists in the squared circle.
They started in see-saw style, but eventually, Jammer began to work Flare over big time. It looked like he might be cruising towards victory, but Flare turned things around after being whipped into the corner.
The Titan hit several high-impact moves, and a couple of near falls was enough to soften Jammer up for a spectacular PALADIN MISSILE for the 1, 2, 3!
- 2/3 Falls - Hechilles & Caiman vs. The Gamemasters for the Galaxian Tag Team Championship Caiman defeated Cosmos with a shoulder breaker at 19:20 Hechilles defeated Cosmos with THE END at 47:34 Match Rating: 4.50 Match Notes: Star Warrior and Cosmos needed to make the most of this second title shot at Hechilles and Caiman before the Estorians make their return. Unfortunately for them, the champs had other things in mind.
The Gamemasters had their moments, but the champs bounced back from everything thrown at them, and the first fall was given after Caiman beat Cosmos down with a sit-out powerbomb and followed it with a shoulder breaker to score the win out of nowhere.
Star Warrior and Cosmos certainly gave as good as they got and rocked the champs on numerous occasions, scoring a series of near falls. They couldn't keep the champs down, though, and eventually, Hechilles and Caiman dominated the home stretch with pinfall and submission attempts on both of the challengers.
Cosmos kicked out of THE END to the shock of Hechilles, but it only seemed to fire the champ up as he hit a big tornado bulldog and then another application of THE END to score the victory and successfully defend the titles in two straight falls.
The challengers seemed a little distraught afterward, but their tenacity and grit once again showed through in a gutsy performance in spite of not scoring a fall. Meanwhile, the champs look unstoppable going into their next defense against the Estorians when Tantalis returns from injury.
- Last Man Standing - Commander Sam vs. Mangus Mangus defeated Commander Sam with a head through a windshield at 26:20 Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: This match has been a long time coming. Sam thought he was done with Mangus after their brutal Barbed Wire Cage match from the Deimos Perennial this past January. Mangus reared his head, though, last month and decided to present himself as a roadblock on Sam's quest for a title shot.
Sam made the challenge, and Mangus was all too ready to accept.
This was heated from the get-go as both men traded strikes and holds - neither could grab an advantage. Eventually, Sam built some momentum and began to try to take Mangus' head off.
The action spilled outside, and Mangus low-blowed Sam to take that advantage and hit his finisher. Sam wasn't even close to being ready to stay down yet, though.
He rallied and would hit his finisher, but Mangus didn't stay down. The action went back and forth in and out of the ring. Soon Sam wore the crimson mask after Mangus smashed a camera over his head.
Mangus tried to open him up even further, and it became uncomfortable to watch. Sam came roaring back, though, and hit a neck-breaking lariat to put him back in the match.
Mangus began to bleed, and Sam returned the favor by opening his cut up with a length of chain. Mangus came back again and had Sam hanging by a thread... Still, Sam would not stay down. He rallied once again, and they began brawling all over the arena. They made their way to a docking facility on the rim of the arena!
Both men climbed to the hood of a cruiser, and Sam was about to attempt a slam, but Mangus reversed and dropped Sam, bloody face first into the windshield, shattering the glass! Sam could not answer the count. Mangus wins! What does this mean for the title picture?!?! What a brutal bout... Will Sam be cleared to compete anytime soon after this match?
Mangus returns to the ring to hoist his arms in the air as the shocked fans boo his return...
