Very surprised to see Bockwinkel go over Race for the strap, especially in such overwhelming fashion! Perhaps Harley was looking ahead to a title showdown with "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers? It'll be interesting to see how Race handles losing the World Title when he takes on Gotch in Philly. A stiff test to say the least!

Thanks for the feedback guys. Bockwinkel was simply unstoppable. Race rarely has back back duds so Gotch might be in for a difficult night.
The Valiant Brothers run could not had have come a better time. My original booking plan was to have either the Valentines or the team of Brazil & Bastien face the LOD but their own feud has been so hot I did not want to cool it off with a title win by either team. While the Vakiants battle for the straps looks for more Acton between Brazil/Bastien and the Valentines in both singles and tag team action.
Might have roster shake ups in the coming cards as well.

LOW @ Philadelphia, PA – The Spectrum - Card 15
Ilio DiPaolo v. Killer Kowalski DiPaolo has been somewhat of a giant killer in recent cards having dispensed with both King Kong Bundy and Ox Baker in recent cards. The action had a slow and steady build with both men having the advantage at various points. The pace picked up as the time limit grew closer. Twice DiPaolo came off the top of the corner with a deathjump cross body but could not keep Kowalski down. The match ended with Kowalski trapped in a figure four leglock (ch) as the time limit ran out. Time 5:00 **
The Sandman v. Sabu Plenty of hardcore wrestling fans in attendance tonight who give Sandman a solid reaction as he busts a beer over his head at ringside. Sabu is Sandman’s punching bag in this one. The action quickly goes to the floor and Sabu goes into the ring rails and is busted open. Sandman cannot get the pin after a series of HARDCORE DDTS but does not let up his attack battering Sabu with a chair at ringside. A bloody and dazed Sabu then stumbles into another HARDCORE DDT in the middle of the ring giving Sandman a very one sided victory. Time: 1:30. **
Iron Sheik w/Nikita Breznikov v. Hacksaw Jim Duggan The USA chant starts as soon as the fans catch a glimpse of Sheik who gets on the mic and tells the fans exactly what he thinks of them. Sheik quickly loads up his boot and Duggan is a bloody mess very early in this one. Duggan never really seems to recover as Sheik punishes him in and out of the ring drawing more heat from ringside. The end comes when Duggan blacks out in a CAMEL CLUTCH. Time: 1:08 *
Gorgeous George is interviewed on the Hot Seat and George seems very concerned with the set’s cleanliness then Apter’s questions until Apter asks about his struggles against The Destroyer. George snaps and becomes upset to the point of almost crying and has to be consoled by Cherie Dupré. There is no crying in wrestling! Harley Race v. Frank Gotch A battle of former World Champions was next as both men were looking to get back into the top contenders position. Race gets and early advantage but Gotch is able to find a reversal and immediate goes for the win a GOTCH TOE HOLD. Race makes it to the ropes and then survives back to back guillotine chokes and a rolling knee bar. Race is able to use his head, literally, with a series of headbutts to gain some momentum back. Race nearly steals the win with a roll up in the corner before eventually completing the comeback with a PILEDRIVER in center ring. A handshake ends the action. Time: 2:34 ***
LOW World Tag Team Title Match – Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) w/Paul Ellering (ch) v. Jimmy & Johnny Valiant w/Captain Lou Albano The Valiant Brothers have looked very impressive against the Champions in recent cards picking up back to back wins over the Road Warriors. This was another wild one between these two teams. Jimmy Valiant gets in trouble early on but is able to gain control on the floor against Animal with a low blow. Jimmy Valiant uses a chair to blast Animal busting the Road Warrior open which leads directly to a TOP ROPE ELBOW but Hawk makes the save. Hawk is eventually able to make the hot tag and carries the load for his team while Animal recovers. A bloody Animal tags back into the match and shows his rage running Jimmy Valiant into the ring rails head first busting him open. The referee has seen enough and disqualifies the Champions. It is three in a row for the Valiant Brothers over the Road Warriors. The action carries on after the bell but Albano is able to gather up his team and run from ringside with the Warriors and Ellering in pursuit. Time: 2:52 **
Ox Baker v. Giant Baba Baba makes his return to the ring after being put out of action by Baker by on Card 9. The fans were excited at the start of this one but the action in the ring did not really deliver as both men really looked sluggish at points in the match. Baba controls the bout early on and Baker took over in the second half of the match with each man picking up a couple of near falls. The spot of the match came when Baker backdropped Baba over the ropes to the floor. The match ended in time limit draw. Time: 5:00 *
Bobo Brazil v. Johnny Valentine Monster pop for Brazil as he makes his way to the ring. What the previous bout lacked in intensity this one made up for and then some. Valentine does wicked colour early after a brawl at ringside. Brazil squeezes the blood out his opponent with a bear hug in a spot that will no doubt be a Bill Apter covershot in the coming weeks. Valentine does not go down even after a COCO BUTT and begins to make a comeback. Brazil is busted open at ringside and the referee lets the action continue. Valentine gets the win but it takes three consecutive ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHERS to get the job done. Time: 3:34 *** ½
LOW World Title Match – Nick Bockwinkel (ch) w/Bobby Heenan v. Buddy Rogers The fans do not care for either of these competitors but settle in for what could be a classic. The Nature Boy is the early aggressor but Bockwinkel shows solid countering skills and quickly goes for the win with a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK that Rogers escapes. Rogers catches the champion on the top of the corner and tosses him to the mat but cannot maintain the advantage for long. Bockwinkel retains the title moments later with a BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER. Time: 1:16 * ½ Steel Cage Match – Jimmy Snuka v. Playboy Buddy Rose There is a brief intermission while the cage walls are assembled around the ring. The ovation for Snuka is off the charts. Rose gets huge heat when he demands to be announced at 217 pounds not 271. Rose is able to get the early advantage after he plants Snuka with a brainbuster for a near fall. Snuka goes into the cage wall and bleeds profusely from his forehead. Snuka survives a BOMBS AWAY and with the fans support mounts a comeback. Rose’s face gets raked across the cage and he is busted open as well. Snuka batters Rose from corner to corner with headbutts, suplexes, backbreakers and chops. Snuka finally mounts the corner, and then decides to climb to the top of the cage. SUPERFLY LEAP (5) and that is it. Rose is removed from the ring on a stretcher. Time: 3:12 ***
A really hot crowd tonight were treated to some solid action . . . The Valiant Brothers continue to have success against the Tag Team Champions Road Warriors but have not been able to capture the titles yet . . The feud between Johnny Valentine and Bobo Brazil continues to be the most intense in the federation right now while the feud between Jimmy Snuka & Playboy Buddy Rose could be over after tonight’s epic main event cage match . . . The competition committee has confirmed that Harley Race will receive his return match part of CWF card in Toronto (Card 17) . . . The next card will take place at the Civic Center in Wheeling,WV and will feature the following bouts. • Frank Gotch faces The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase
• Sabu looks to turn things around against The Sandman
• Giant Baba continues to look for some more payback from Ox Baker
• Gorgeous George and The Destroyer continue their feud
• Greg Valentine meets Red Bastien in singles action
• LOW Tag Team Champions Road Warriors defend against The Valiant Brothers in a Texas Death Match

What a great show in Philly, Bookerbill. It was nice to see Jimmy Snuka come away with the cage match victory over Buddy Rose. Nick Bockwinkel is looking real strong as champion right now and could be hard to beat. I'm really pulling for the Valiant Brothers against the Road Warriors. I like both teams but it would be cool to see the Valiant's and Captain Lou take the gold. That Brazil vs. Valentine match sounded like a real war and I liked the cover shot comment as I could see Apter snapping that photo. Great stuff.

Thanks for the feedback Crue and CC
LOW @ Wheeling, WV – Civic Center - Card 16
Frank Gotch v. Ted DiBiase w/Virgil DiBiase draws solid heat by flashing the cash at ringside. Gotch is focused tonight and really takes apart DiBiase from bell to bell. Virgil cannot cause a distraction and Gotch gets the win with a rolling kneebar. Time: 0:58 *
The Sandman v. Sabu Fans are once again braced for a wild brawl and that is what they get. Sabu is clearly pushing to get into the feud and is the early aggressor but takes things too far when he hits the Arabian facebuster and is disqualified. Neither man could care less about the bell sounding as the brawl continues after the bell. Sandman lays out Sabu with a HARDCORE DDT onto a chair as security arrives to break things up. Sabu is clearly dazed after the bell and needs assistance to make it to the back. Time: 0:36 dud
Ox Baker v. Giant Baba Baba is starting to gain quite a lot of fan support especially in his battles with the hated Giant Baba. Baker looks like he might blow straight through Baba early on but Baba survives a HEART PUNCH and mounts a slow comeback with head butts, arm bars and chops. Baba is able to neutralize Baker’s brawling for the balance of the bout and picks up the win with a BABA CHOP. Time: 2:53. * ½ Jimmy Cornette and the Midnight Express appear on the Hot Seat with Bill Apter and they have nothing good to say about Apter or his magazine cover of the Express. It looks like Cornette might even deck Apter but the Last of the Famous International Playboys arrive sending Cornette and his team back to the dressing room. Gorgeous George w/Cherie Dupré v. The Destroyer George takes a very long time to actually get into the ring drawing fantastic heat from ringside. Another night that really belonged to The Destroyer who dominated the entire bout. George managed to survive an early FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK but could not sustain any real offense. Destroyer picked up the win following a sensational suplex. Time: 4:05 * ½
Greg Valentine v. Red Bastien The fans give Bastien a huge ovation as he comes to the ring. The Hammer strikes quickly and has Bastien trapped in a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK before you know it but Bastien is able to escape. Twice more Valentine applies his finisher but with the fans support, Bastien escapes again and makes it to the ropes to break the third hold. Valentine is clearly frustrated and attacks Bastien on the floor with a steel chair. The referee calls for the disqualification. Bobo Brazil arrives followed by Johnny Valentine. Brazil holds off both Valentines as Bastien recovers and then joins the battle himself before security arrives to break things up. Time: 1:21 **
LOW Tag Team Title Texas Death Match – Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) (ch) w/Paul Ellering v. Johnny & Jimmy Valiant w/Captain Lou Albano This was a violent and crazy as you would expect. All four men brawl early on and even Albano and Ellering get into it at ringside. The Valiant Brothers gain the upper hand when Jimmy Valiant makes liberal use of a steel cage on Hawk in the middle of the ring smashing him three times. Hawk never really recovers and the Valiant Brothers get the win and the Title with a TOP ROPE ELBOW on Hawk while Johnny brawls with Animal and Albano trips up Ellering. Time: 2:05 **
The Valiant Brother made it four in a row over the Road Warriors and this time came home with the Tag Team Titles as well. The fans are left to wonder whether or not the Warriors will receive a return match given that the Valiant Brothers have really owned them the last few cards . . . The Destroyer has absolutely dominated Gorgeous George recently and appears ready to move on to bigger things. Perhaps the LOW Title? . . . The feud between the Valentines and the team of Red Bastien & Bobo Brazil continued to rage tonight in singles action . . . The Midnight Express have arrived and it appears their first challenge will be The Last of the Famous International Playboys . . . The next card will take place at the Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto as the World Champion and Killer Kowalski take part in a Canadian Wrestling Federation card and will feature the following bouts. • Adam Pearce faces his nemesis Brent Albright
• In what promises to be a wild brawl, Necro Butcher steps into the ring with Drake Younger
• The Kings of Wrestling take on Mike Quackenbush, Jigsaw and Eddie Kingston in six man action
• Canadian Champion Austin Aries defends against Davey Richards
• Andre The Giant looks to revenge his loss to Killer Kowalski
• LOW World Champion Nick Bockwinkel defends against former champion Harley Race

Awesome, "Handsome" Jimmy & "Luscious" Johnny won tag team gold from the Road Warriors! I think Hawk & Animal deserve a rematch but should have to wait a little since the Valiant's won four straight over them. It was cool to see Baba get a decisive win over Baker and both The Sandman and The Destroyer have been dominant over their rivals. I'm looking forward to Race getting his world title rematch with Bockwinkel in Toronto not to mention Andre vs. Kowalski.

It's great that the Valiants won the Tag straps from the Road Warriors and I'm pulling for them to have a good run as the Champs. I loved the ending to the Valentine & Bastien match, too bad Red didn't lose to the Hammer...

Thanks CC and Crue for the comments.
CWF @ Toronto, ON - Maple Leaf Gardens – Card 17
Adam Pearce v. Brent Albright Pearce and Albright had battled all across the United States and know each other well so there are no surprises in this one. Pearce works the neck with short arm clotheslines and neckbreakers. At one point he actually whips Albright with a strap but the referee lets the action continue. Albright sends Pearce shoulder first into the ring post and earns a disqualification. Time: 1:29. Dud
Necro Butcher v. Drake Younger One word, violence. The action goes outside almost immediately with both men tearing up ringside. Butcher tries to slow down Younger’s attack with an Asiatic Spike Submission but the Psycho Shooter keeps coming. Butcher survives a DRAKE’S LANDING but Younger employs a light tube before ending it with a spinebuster slam. Time: 1:00 **
LOW World Title Match – Nick Bockwinkel (ch) w/Bobby Heenan v. Harley Race This one was epic. Race dominated the action from the outset hitting a PILEDRIVER in the opening minute. That really set the tone for the match which featured Bockwinkel barely hanging on and kicking out at the last second several times. Bockwinkel is able to run Race into the ringpost and busts him open. Heenan is able to distract the referee after another PILEDRIVER and later interferes again to save the Champion after a vertical suplex. Race clearly becomes frustrated with the officiating and runs Bockwinkel into the ring rails. The bell sounds and Race has been disqualified. Race is irate as Heenan assists Bockwinkel to the back. Bockwinkel’s pin count is 10! Time: 8:11 ****
Kings of Wrestling (Claudio Castagnoli, Chris Hero & Airk Cannon) v. Mike Quackenbush, Jigsaw and Eddie Kingston The fans are still buzzing after the last match and the excitement continues with this six man tag team bout. All six men see action early on. Quackenbush manages to plant Castagnoli with a QUACKENDRIVER II but cannot get the win. The action continues to go back and forth. Kingston looks impressive against the Kings of Wrestling. With time running down, the fans are treated to a showdown between Hero and Quackenbush. Hero survives a CHIKARA SPECIAL and then Quackenbush hits a QUACKENDRIVER II. 1, 2, bell sounds, 3. The time limit has expired. Time: 5:00 ** ½
Canadian Title Match – Austin Aries (ch) v. Davey Richards Richards comes out strong and quickly gets the upper hand. A BRAINBUSTER gets a near fall and Aries kicks out after a D. R. DRIVER. A second BRAINBUSTER gets a two count and a final BRAINBUSTER gives Richards the title in dominating fashion. Time: 0:59. * ½
Killer Kowalski v. Andre The Giant Andre is out to a huge ovation and greets his fans at ringside before stepping into the squared circle. Kowalski once gain shows no fear in the ring against his massif opponent and dominates the action from the opening bell. Twice Andre has to struggle to escape a CLAW HOLD. Andre is on the defensive for almost the entire bout before the action goes to the floor and Andre sends Kowalski into the ring post and is disqualified. The fans hate the call but are really stunned at Kowalski’s ability to dominate the Giant for the second straight time. Time: 2:09: * ½
It was great that the LOW could take part in some solid action in Toronto . . . Killer Kowalski really has Andre The Giant’s number dominating the Giant for the second straight time. Andre was clearly frustrated at the end of the night and promoters are now scrambling to sign another bout between these two. Given Andre’s hectic schedule, he may not be in the area for some time . . . LOW Champion took an epic beating tonight at the hands of Harley Race but thanks in part to some timely distractions and/or interference by Bobby Heenan, Bockwinkel remains champion. Race immediately demanded a rematch but Heenan has advised that Race had his mandatory return match and came out with a loss. There would be no rematch. The competition committee will be looking closely at the situation and will likely make a decision shortly about whether or not Race will get another shot at the Title . . . The next card will take place at the Embassy Hall in North Bergen, NJ and will feature the following bouts. • Hacksaw Jim Duggan looks to get something going when he meets Iron Sheik
• Midnight Express make their in ring debut against the Last of the Famous International Playboys
• Killer Kowalski faces Ilio DiPaolo in a rematch from Philadelphia
• The feud between Johnny Valentine & Bobo Brazil continues when they clash one on one
• LOW Champion Nick Bockwinkel puts his title on the line against Jimmy Snuka in the main event.

I was pulling for Austin Aries to retain the title there but it was not to be. Harley Race really brought the fight to Nick Bockwinkel this time and has every right to be frustrated. Kowalski taking it to Andre as well and getting the win to boot. I really want to see a rematch there.
