I was eagerly awaiting the return of LOW and the action in Landover was solid except for the main event. Sad to see the Valiant Brothers go down and leave the territory but at least they had a championship run. Brazil & Bastien vs. Hawk & Animal should be fun and headlining the high school gym show no less.

After a few weeks off, it is time to get back to some LOW action.... A welcomed return, bookerbill; good card as always. I can't get enough of Ox Baker and the inevitable path of destruction he leaves behind him!

Thanks the feedback. It feels good to get back into my LOW fed.
LOW @ Stamford, CT – High School Gym - Card 22
Koko B. Ware v. Ted DiBiase w/Virgil The birdman has the fans on their feet dancing to get the night started. DiBiase is not impressed but Ware manages some early offense including a sweet looking standing dropkick. The Million Dollar Man does not stay down for long and back to back vertical suplexes rock Ware. It takes four MILLION DOLLAR SLEEPERS but in the end, Ware ends up dazed on the mat with a mouth full of cash. Time: 0:36 (dud)
Cowboy Bob Orton v. Jimmy Snuka There is some bad blood between these two that dates back several years. Snuka is clearly inspired by his fans tonight and starts out strong. Orton looks overwhelmed and is quickly defeated after a leap frog and chop. Orton complaints about a fast count after the match but he was clearly outclassed tonight. Time: 0:20 (dud)
Bill Apter hosts a special Hot Seat segment with guest George Hackenschmidt. Hackenschmidt cuts a promo on Frank Gotch calling him a coward and cheat. Hackenschmidt tells the fans Gotch cannot be trusted and they are fools for cheering for the man at the center of the biggest double cross in wrestling history. Gotch comes out to face Hackenschimdt but is a trap. Mad Dog and Butcher Vachon come out from behind Gotch and attack him. It is a three on one beat down. Security arrives and Gotch needs medical assaistance to make it the back. Iron Sheik w/Nikita Breznikov v. Hacksaw Jim Duggan With the fans still buzzing from the attack on Gotch, Sheik comes out and turns up the heat. Sheik gains the upper hand early on with suplexes and a loaded boot. Duggan does wicked colour off the ring rails but manages to make a comeback thanks to the fans support. A Tough Guy Clothesline nearly ends it and Duggan follows with a piledriver for the three count. Breznikov attempts to jump Duggan after the bell but Duggan takes him out with the clothesline before grabbing his 2 x 4 and clearing the ring. Time: 3:20 **
Buddy Rogers v. Frank Gotch Rogers comes out and grabs the mic and tells the fans he was supposed to face Frank Gotch tonight but Gotch got himself taken out of action. Rogers then declares himself the top contender to the World Title and tells the fans that no one in the back has the guts to come out and face him. Superfly Jimmy Snuka comes out to a huge ovation and will compete in his second match tonight. This one was hard fought from start to finish. The action went in and out of the ring. Rogers survives a SUPERFLY LEAP and battles back to push the match to a time limit draw. Time: 5:00 ** ½
LOW Tag Team Champions Road Warriors w/Paul Ellering v. Bobo Brazil & Red Bastien Brazil & Bastien have been on a roll lately in their feud against the Valentines while the Warriors have finally put the Valiant Brothers behind him. The fans are really into the match from the start supporting both teams. The Warriors cut off Bastien early on but cannot put him away. A hot tag brings in Brazil to a monster pop and the momentum turns. Bastien connects with an ATOMIC DROP on Animal but Hawk makes the save. Bastien follows with a deathjump cross body block. 1, 2, Greg and Johnny Valentine hit the ring and attack Bastien and Brazil. Hawk and Animal bail to the floor as the battle rages in the ring. The Champions quickly speak with Ellering and then storm the ring taking out all four men. The show ends with Bastien and Brazil being announced as the winners by disqualification but the Champions are the ones left standing. Time: 4:35. ***
Jimmy Snuka looked very impressive against Cowboy Bob Orton who was not happy with the officiating and demanded a rematch . . . Snuka then returned for another impressive performance against the Nature Boy Buddy Rogers . . . The feud between the Valentines and the team of Bobo Brazil & Red Bastien took another turn tonight as the Valentines cost Brazil and Bastien the Tag Team Titles . . . The feud between Hacksaw Duggan and Iron Sheik continues to rage . . . Frank Gotch suffered injuries to his ribs at the hands of George Hackenschmidt and the Vachon Brothers. He will obviously have his hands full when he returns to action. Will anyone come to his aid? The next card will take place at the Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, MA and will feature the following bouts. • Giant Baba looks for some payback against Ox Baker • The Last of the Famous International Playboys get their return bout with the Midnight Express • Killer Kowalski battled The Destroyer • Johnny Valentine continues his epic feud with Bobo Brazil in chain match • Nick Bockwinkel puts his World Title on the line against Harley Race in what is Race’s last shot at regaining the belt

The card in Stamford was fun and I loved the finish with Hawk & Animal taking out all four men. The trio of George Hackenschmidt and the Vachon's sounds very intimidating and as good as Frank Gotch is he will need some help there. Jimmy Snuka had an impressive night beating Orton and then going to the distance with the "Nature Boy". Really looking forward to Lowell with the Brazil vs. Valentine bout and Race making a final bid to regain the world title.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
LOW @ Lowell, MA – Memorial Auditorium - Card 23
The Last of the Famous International Playboys (Brutus Beefcake & Buff Bagwell) v. Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane) w/Jim Cornette This one gets violent early with Bagwell absolutely destroying Lane at ringside leaving him a bloody and battered mess. Lane is eventually able to counter a deathjump by Beefcake and tosses his opponent to the mat changing the momentum of the bout. The balance of the action belongs to the Express and they get the win with a ROCKET LAUNCHER on Beefcake Time: 1:56 **
Ox Baker v. Giant Baba Baba has the fans behind him tonight as he makes his way to ringside. The match had a great pace from the outset. Baker gained the upper hand at ringside and busted Baba open off the ring post however Baba found some way to kick out after a HEART PUNCH. With the fans going nuts, Baba worked over Baker on the floor and soon both men were wearing the crimson mask. Baker survived a NECKBREAKER DROP and the action went back and forth with both men stopping at nothing to get the win. At one point, Baba came off the top with a deathjump cross body block that had to be seen to be believed but Baker kicked out at 2 ¾. The end eventually came when Baba connected with a boot to the face and got the three count. ****
Iron Sheik and Nikita Breznikov appear on the Hot Seat with Bill Apter and both complain about not being ranked higher by Apter in his monthly magazine. Just when it looks like Sheik may deck Apter Hacksaw Jim Duggan arrives with his 2 x 4 and sends the heels fleeing to the back. Killer Kowalski v. The Destroyer This match featured a classic display of counter wrestling from start to finish mixed in with occasional brawling both in and out of the ring. The action went back and forth with both men exchanging multiple near falls. Kowalski managed to escape a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK but grabbing the ropes and eventually got the three count with a shoulder breaker. Time: 3:05: ***
Chain Match - Johnny Valentine v. Bobo Brazil This one was an absolute war from start to finish. Early on both men attempted to counter wrestle rather than make use of the chain but Valentine soon took advantage of the weapon and Brazil was a bloody mess. Brazil managed to kick out after an ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER and then made use of the chain himself spilling more blood. The action went in and out of the ring. At one point, Brazil wrapped the chain around Valentine’s neck and whipped him across the ring three times. Although Valentine kicked out after a couple of COCO BUTTS it was that move the lead to the three count and huge win for Brazil. Time: 3:01 *****
World Champion Nick Bockwinkel w/Bobby Heenan v. Harley Race Many insiders are saying that his could be Race’s last shot at the gold for some time. Bockwinkel comes out very strong and quickly has Race trapped in the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK but Race is able to hold on and reverse the hold to escape. Race finally gets some offense going and the action spills to the floor. Race runs Bockwinkel into the ringside rails and the referee immediately calls for the disqualification. Race is irate but Heenan could not be happier as he leads the champion to the back with his title in hand. Time: 1:11 *
The bloody war between Johnny Valentine and Bobo Brazil was on full display tonight . . . Frustrated over his inability to regain the LOW World Title Harley Race has officially given his notice and will be leaving the area. Officials stated that Race would be welcome to return at any time provided a roster spot was available . . . Rumors were coming out of the front office that the Midnight Express were to get the next shot at the Tag Team Titles and they certainly proved their worth with a clean victory over The Last of the Famous International Playboys. The Road Warriors know all about the Midnight Express so that clash should be excellent . . . Killer Kowalski looked very good in the ring tonight against The Destroyer and appears more than ready to take on Andre the Giant for the third time . . . Giant Baba and Ox Baker continue to get more violent in their matches against one another . . . The next card will take place at the Madison Square Garden in New York, NY and will feature the following bouts.
• Sandman makes his return from injury to face Sabu in a Texas Death Match • Bob Orton looks to rebound and get a win back against Jimmy Snuka • The Vachons make their official debut when they take on The Last of the Famous International Playboys • The feud between Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Iron Sheik continues when they meet one on one • Ilio Dipaolo returns to action when he faces George Hackenschmidt • Giant Baba tangles with Ox Baker in what has become an interest feud • LOW Tag Team Champions Road Warriors defends against Midnight Express • Killer Kowalski looks to continue his success against The Eighth Wonder of the World, Andre The Giant • LOW Champion Nick Bockwinkel puts the title on the line against Buddy Rogers • In a cage match, Bobo Brazil & Red Bastien face Johnny & Greg Valentine

Thanks for the feedback Show
LOW @ New York, NY – Madison Square Garden - Card 24
Jimmy Snuka v. Cowboy Bob Orton The Superfly is loved in New York and is greeted with a huge ovation to start the night off. Orton starts strong Snuka is able to backdrop him to the floor taking control of the action. Snuka then dumps Orton back to the floor and dives over the ropes onto his opponent on the floor. The fans explode and Orton goes hard into the ring barrier and cannot recover. Snuka picks up the count-out win. Orton jumps Snuka after the bell however and the two men brawl their way to the back. Time: 0:38. *
The Last of the Famous International Playboys (Buff Bagwell & Brutus Beefcake) v. Mad Dog & Butcher Vachon The ladies and kids at ringside give a warm welcome to the Playboys as they come to ringside. The Vachons are making their in ring debut after being involved in the attack on Frank Gotch on Card 22. This one starts off slow with both teams making frequent tags. The action picks up with neither team being able to hold the advantage for any particular stretch. Bagwell comes off the top of the corner with a deathjmp on Mad Dog Vachon that takes out the referee. The official regains his senses and sees all four men brawling and calls for a double disqualification. Security is needed to break things up. Time: 2:22 *
LOW Tag Team Champions Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) w/Paul Ellering v. Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane) w/Jim Cornette There is a long history between these two teams and their managers. The Express were able to get the early advantage targeting Hawk. Eaton sends the Road Warrior into the ringside rails busting him open. Lane nearly ends with a SUPERKICK and then the Express hit a ROCKET LAUNCHER. Animal is cut off but Hawk somehow kicks out at the last second. Animal finally gets the hot tag in and overpowers Eaton. The Warriors crush Eaton with a spike piledriver before Animal shocks the fans with crazy looking deathjump cross body block for the three count. It looks like Eaton may have gotten his shoulder up at the last second and Cornette is all over the referee but the decision stands and the Warriors retain. Time: 1:30 * ½ Ilio DiPaolo v. George Hackenschmidt DiPaolo received a solid reaction from ringside as he comes out for his bout against the Russian powerhouse. DiPaolo is clearly inspired by the fans response and takes the battle to Hackenschmidt from the outset. Hackenschmidt is taken back by the Italian’s strength and bails to the floor after getting hit with big right hands. DiPaolo comes out after his opponent and runs Hackenschmidt into the ring rails. The referee calls for a disqualification. The fans are not pleased with yet another disqualification finish but the fight continues after the bell until security can pull the team men apart. Time: 1:43: dud
Texas Death Match – The Sandman v. Sabu The referee was only going to stop this one with a three count. Talk about brutality. The Sandman took the beating of his life in this in and out of the ring and into the streets as well. Sandman went through a table at ringside early on via a Sabu legdrop and that was only the beginning of Sabu’s assault. Sabu used the ring bell to render his opponent a bloody mess early on before things got really crazy and spilled outside the arena where Sandman was rammed into a car! Back in the ring Sandman somehow escaped three consecutive CAMEL CLUTCHES and then made his comeback. Sabu soon wore his own crimson mask but the advantage was short lived for Sandman and another CAMEL CLUTCH ended it. Sandman was removed on a stretcher. Time: 3:04 ***
Bill Apter interviews Destroyer on the Hot Seat and confronts him about his recent lack of success. Destroyer is not impressed and launches into a verbal attack on Apter before storming off the set. LOW Champion Nick Bockwinkel w/Bobby Heenan v. Buddy Rogers The fans do not care for either one of these competitors and seem to enjoy getting on Heenan with a Weasel chant during the introductions. This one was a classic from start to finish. Bockwinkel looked very impressive early but the Nature Boy found a way to escape back to back FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCKS. Rogers turned things around on the floor and the match became a battle of counters. Rogers broke the stalemate with a dropkick that flipped Bockwinkel to the floor. Rogers than applied a FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE but Bockwinkel was able to struggle to the ropes. Rogers when back to the hold again and this time Heenan interfered breaking the hold. Rogers tosses Heenan to ringside but the momentum soon turned. Rogers escaped a BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER but had no counter to a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. Bockwinkel retains thanks to some timely interference from Heenan. Time: 3:41 ****
Iron Sheik v. Nikita Breznikov v. Hacksaw Jim Duggan Massif heat for Sheik as he gets on the mic and runs down the New York crowd. Plenty of brawling in this one as you would expect with these two in the ring. Sheik mixes in the occasional suplex to get the upper hand. Sheik loads up his boot and busts open Duggan turning the heat up ever further. Duggan is able to catch Sheik on the top of the corner and tosses him to the mat rocking ringside. Duggan cannot get the pin after an Old Glory legdrop and Sheik mounts his comeback trapping Duggan in a CAMEL CLUTCH. Duggan power out and the crowd goes insane. Duggan mounts the corner for a deathjump smash but Sheik rolls clear at the last second and Duggan crashes to the mat. With Breznikov screaming “cover him, cover him,” Sheik hooks the leg. 1, 2, 3. Time: 2:37 ***
Killer Kowalski v. Andre The Giant Andre has struggled against Kowalski in their previous meeting so there was a real electricity at ringside. Early on Kowalski continues to look good against the Giant including a crazy spot where Kowalski is able to backdrop Andre to the floor in the corner. Andre is able to use his power to regain the advantage. Three consecutive sitdown splashes leave Kowalski in a heap and Andre ends it with a bear hug. Time: 2:15 ** ½
Giant Baba v. Ox Baker Baba looks impressive against Baker from the opening bell. Baker gains the upper hand on the floor but cannot maintain the momentum. A Baba Chop rocks Baker for a near fall and The Japanese Champion wins with a NECKBREAKER DROP. Time: 0:51 *
Steel Cage Match – Greg & Johnny Valentine v. Red Bastien & Bobo Brazil Brazil and Bastien are out to a huge ovation. The Valentines cut off Brazil early on but Bastien gets the hot tag and things get violent. Bastien uses the cage wall to brutalize Johnny Valentine and soon Valentine is a bloody mess. Brazil is in and back to back COCO BUTTS ends the match. Time: 3:17 ** ½ Nature Boy Buddy Rogers was not pleased following his loss to LOW Champion Nick Bockwinkel and has demanded another shot at the belt. Bobby Heenan certainly earned his cut of the purse tonight . . . Bob Orton continues to struggle against the Superfly . . . Jim Cornette was livid following the Tag Team Title Match tonight stating that he would present video evidence to LOW officials proving that the referee made a mistake tonight. Officials were quick to respond to the situation stating that the Warriors were willing to grant the Express an immediate rematch . . . Andre the Giant appears to have quieted the challenge of Killer Kowalski . . . Not so impressive debuts for the Vachon Brothers and George Hackenschmidt tonight . . . Sabu plus Sandman equals violence . . . Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase will be spending some time at his mansion in Beverly Hills and as a result has left the area . . . The next card will take place at the Agricultural Hall in Allentown, PA and will feature the following bouts.
• Greg Valentine looks to rebound against Koko B. Ware • Cowboy Bob Orton faces Jimmy Snuka in a rematch from tonight’s card • Don Leo Jonathan makes his debut against the always tough challenge of The Destroyer • Hacksaw Jim Duggan continues his feud with the Iron Sheik • In six man action, George Hackenschmidt and The Vachons face The Last of The International Playboys and Frank Gotch • Road Warriors defend the Tag Team Titles against The Midnight Express in a rematch from tonight’s action

What an amazing show at MSG and they had to have been hanging from the rafters for this one. Sabu vs. The Sandman was off the charts, an incredible battle. I would like to see Sabu and the Iron Sheik square off in a Camel Clutch battle someday. Huge win for Brazil & Bastien in the main event and I also enjoyed the big wins for Andre and Baba. Buddy Rogers has a legit beef over that bout with Bockwinkel as do the Midnight Express against the Road Warriors. Looking forward to those title rematches.
