Nick Bockwinkel, you lucky boy! How close you came to being relieved of the LOW World Championship on Canadian soil! He hung on by sheer desperation and if Race could have just remained calm and composed rather than getting frustrated with the referee he'd have certainly captured the title! Great card at the Maple Leaf Gardens, bookerbill.

It was a blast breaking out the LOTF cards for the action in Toronto. Thank for the feedback CC and Show.
LOW @ North Bergen, NJ – Embassy Hall - Card 18
Ilio DiPaolo v. Killer Kowalski DiPaolo has been really impressive in recent cards against some of the super heavyweights in the LOW and has the fans behind him in Jersey. Kowalski tries to jump his opponent before the bell but DiPaolo is ready and Kowalski goes into the timekeeper’s table. A rope climb headlock takeover forces Kowalski to bail to the floor. DiPaolo comes out after him and runs Kowalski head first into the rails and is disqualified. 0:30 dud
The Last of the Famous International Playboys (Buff Bagwell & Brutus Beefcake) v. Midnight Express (Stan Lane & Bobby Eaton) w/Jim Cornette The fans, especially the ladies, love the Playboys who pose for photographs at ringside. Early on the Express dominate the bout first against Bagwell and later against Beefcake. Twice the Playboys use pin saves to get out of trouble and then are able to hold off the Express attack until the time limit expires. Time: 5:00 ** ½
Hacksaw Jim Duggan v. Iron Sheik w/Nikita Breznikov We get a great USA chant prior to the bell. Duggan and Sheik both use their strengths to hold the advantage at various points in the match. Sheik with his suplexes and Duggan with his brawling. The action goes to the floor and Sheik runs Duggan into the ring rails busting him open and earning a disqualification. It looks like Breznikov might join the post match action but Duggan grabs his 2x4 which causes Sheik and Breznikov to hightail it to the back. Time: 2:13. *
New LOW Tag Team Champions Jimmy & Johnny Valiant are on the Hot Seat along with their manager Captain Lou Albano and they brag about how they have dominated the tag teams in the LOW an route to winning the titles from the Road Warriors. Albano tells the fans that they are moving on from the Road Warriors and they will never receive a return match but Apter pulls out and opens an envelope which states the Valiant Brothers first title defence will be on card 20 against the Legion of Doom, Hawk and Animal. Albano is stunned grabbing the letter and ripping it to shreds while Jimmy and Johnny Valiant look to their manager for some answers.
Johnny Valentine v. Bobo Brazil Another epic reaction for Brazil as he makes his way to the ring. This one was insane. Brazil is busted wide open in the opening moments at ringside and Valentine works the cut spilling Brazil’s blood onto the mat. Valentine rains down ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER after ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER onto his opponent. Four in a row does not get the job done as Brazil kicks out of each cover. Brazil turns things around at ringside running Valentine into the ring post busting him open. It was now Brazil turn to unleash his finisher. After three COCO BUTTS in a row the referee finally counted Valentine’s shoulder to the mat. Time 2:05: *****
LOW World Champion Nick Bockwinkel w/Bobby Heenan v. Jimmy Snuka The ovation of Snuka is huge as he makes his way to the ring for his first shot at the World Title. Bockwinkel shows his countering skills off early on and then quickly traps the SUPERFLY in a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. Snuka has nowhere to go and submits. Time: 0:58. dud
An absolute war between Johnny Valentine and Bobo Brazil highlighted the card and might just be the best match to date in the LOW . . . Hacksaw Jim Duggan took it to the Sheik tonight and this feud may just have some legs yet . . . Nick Bockwinkel rebounded from his performance in Toronto nicely with an impressive title defence against the Superfly . . . The Midnight Express were frustrated in the LOW debut . . . The next card will take place at the Auditorium in Worcester, MA, and will feature the following bouts. • Giant Baba takes on Ox Baker in a rematch from Wheeling WV
• Sabu continues his war against The Sandman
• Koko B. Ware makes his debut when he faces the tough challenge of the Nature Boy Buddy Rogers
• In a Texas Death Match, Johnny & Greg Valentine take on Bobo Brazil & Red Bastien
• Nick Bockwinkel defends the LOW Title against the Sensational Destroyer.

I love how Albano rips up the paper, but that won't stop them from not facing Hawk & Animal. Too bad DiPaolo lost to Kowalski, but I'm glad Bockwinkel defeated Snuka...

Thanks for the comments CC.
LOW @ Worcester, MA – Auditorium - Card 19
Koko B. Ware v. Buddy Rogers Ware has the fans dancing to open the night’s action. It is all The Birdman early on with the fans cheering every move. A top rope dropkick gets a near fall before the action goes to the floor where Rogers catches Ware with a chop block. Ware comes up hobbling and The Nature Boy ends it immediately with a FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE. Time: 0:53. *
The Sandman v. Sabu The fans have been waiting for these two to take things to extreme. Tonight is Sabu’s night from bell to bell. Sandman does mild colour off the ring rails but the referee lets the action continue. Sandman gets no offense in at all in the ring and Sabu uses a mainly scientific attack to control the action including a series of CAMEL CLUTCHES that eventually leads to a submission. Time: 1:02 **
Harley Race appears on the Hot Seat with Bill Apter and Apter informs the fans that Race has been granted a rematch with LOW Champion Nick Bockwinkel and that bout will take place at the Capital Centre in Landover, MD. Race tells us that the fans in Toronto know that he had Bockwinkel beat and if it was not for the weasel, he would be the World Champion now. Suddenly, Frank Gotch comes out and cuts a very heel like promo about the lack of attention he is getting from the media. Race tells Gotch if he wants attention so much they can go down to the ring and he will give him plenty of attention. Gotch says after you.
Harley Race v. Frank Gotch An impromptu match has the fans on their feet. This was another epic encounter between these two competitors. Early on it does not look like Gotch would last long but he kicks out after a PILEDRIVER and the fans cannot believe it. The referee goes down midway through the bout off a Race deathjump and Gotch takes over. Twice he punishes Race with a GOTCH TOE HOLD and it looks like Race would have submitted if there was a referee to see it. Twice more Gotch applies a rolling knee bar that has Race reeling. A new official finally arrives (8 moves) and the action continues. Race is basically fighting on one leg but he stills finds a way to regain the upper hand and gets the comeback win with back to back spinning neckbreakers. Time: 2:50 *** ½
Texas Tornado Match – Greg & Johnny Valentine v. Bobo Brazil & Red Bastien The action in this one was almost impossible to track as all four men brawled in and out of the ring. The Valentines held the advantage for a period of time but Johnny Valentine could not put away Bastien after an ATOMIC SKULLRUSHER. Brazil lead his team back and nearly ended the bout with back to back COCO BUTTS on Johnny Valentine. The Hammer ran Brazil into the ring post and busted him open. Greg Valentine had Brazil in trouble in the ring and mounted the corner for a deathjump but Brazil rolled clear and The Hammer crashed to the mat where he was quickly pinned by Brazil while Bastien brawled with Johnny Valentine on the floor. Time: 3:18 *** ½ Ox Baker v. Giant Baba There is a Puroresu ceremony before the bell honouring Baba as the Japanese Champion. Baba looks very impressive early on and even shows he can brawl with Baker outside the ring running Baker head first into the rails busting him open. Neither man can gain a near fall however as they battle back and forth until Baker runs Baba’s head into the ring post and is disqualified. After the match, both men brawl until security arrives to pull them apart. Time: 2:21 *
LOW World Champion Nick Bockwinkel w/Bobby Heenan v. The Destroyer The fans are all over Heenan as the bell sounds. Both men attempt to find an opening and it is Bockwinkel who finds it first with a back suplex. Bockwinkel immediately moves to a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK that does not get the submission but a BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER follows and Bockwinkel retains. Time: 0:51 *
World Champion Nick Bockwinkel looked very strong for the second straight Title defense. His next challenger will be the man he won the Title from, Harley Race . . . . The team of Bobo Brazil and Red Bastien got their second win in a row over the Valentines and now have to be on the short list for a crack at the tag straps . . . Sabu finally showed some of his wrestling skills and picked up a big win . . . Bill Apter’s revealed in his recent issue of “Deathjump” that the rematch between Andre the Giant and Killer Kowalski has been signed and will take place as part of a huge card planned for Madison Square Garden (card 24) . . . Giant Baba has really looked impressive against Ox Baker and there are rumblings of a title shot for the Japanese Champion in the very near future . . . The next card will take place at the Armory in Albany, NY, and will feature the following bouts. • Iron Sheik and Hacksaw Jim Duggan battle once again in singles action
• Midnight Express meet The Last of The Famous International Playboys in rematch from North Bergen, NJ
• In another rematch from NJ, Killer Kowalski battles Ilio DiPaolo in a Texas Death Match
• Jimmy Snuka clashes with the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase
• LOW Tag Team Champions The Valiant Brothers make their first defense against former Champions Road Warriors

Bookerbill, your LOW fed is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. That Bobo Brazil vs. Johnny Valentine bout in North Bergen was epic. I really enjoyed Card 19 with Harley Race coming off like a boss taking down Frank Gotch in an unscheduled bout. Race has bounced back nicely from his title loss and Nick Bockwinkel had better be looking over his shoulder.

Bill Apter’s revealed in his recent issue of “Deathjump” that the rematch between Andre the Giant and Killer Kowalski has been signed and will take place as part of a huge card planned for Madison Square Garden (card 24) I need to splash some cash around and make sure I've got a front row seat in the Garden for Card 24! Absolutely unmissable action! Looking forward to seeing what other matches will be announced over the next for weeks for this huge pro wrestling spectacular!

Thanks for the feedback guys. Love the new look on the Board!
LOW @ Albany, NY - Armory - Card 20
Ted DiBiase w/Virgil v. Jimmy Snuka Snuka was looking to rebound from his stunning defeat at the hand of the World Champion in New Jersey with a big win tonight. With the fans behind him, Snuka tore into DiBiase from the outset picking up a couple of near falls before going up top for the SUPERFLY LEAP. DiBiase moves and Snuka crashes! DiBiase takes over but Snuka’s shows his trademark passion battling back for the win with a power slam. DiBiase is not pleased with Virgil after the bell. Suddenly someone comes out of the ringside fans and jumps the Superfly from behind. It is Cowboy Bob Orton! DiBiase and Virgil just laugh at ringside as Orton lays the boots to Snuka in the middle of the ring. Snuka gets fired up again and Orton quickly flees the ring. Time: 1:20 *
Midnight Express (Stan Lane & Bobby Eaton) w/Jim Cornette v. The Last of the Famous International Playboys (Buff Bagwell & Brutus Beefcake) The Playboys dominate the action from the opening bell first against Eaton and then against Lane. Eaton survives a BUFF BLOCKBUSTER while Cornette is frantic at ringside. Lane is in trouble and Bagwell mounts the corner for a deathjump smash but Lane is able to roll clear and Bagwell crashes to the mat. Lane covers for the three count and the Express have their first LOW win. Time: 1:44 *
Johnny Valentine & Greg Valentine appear on the Hot Seat with Bill Apter with both men cutting passionate promos on Red Bastien & Bobo Brazil and telling both men to book adjoining rooms at the local hospital next time they meet in the ring.
Texas Death Match – Killer Kowalski v. Ilio DiPaolo This was very closely contested from the open bell. Kowalski kicks out after an early AIRPLANE SPIN and DiPaolo survives a CLAW HOLD. Kowalski makes use a chair and smashes his opponent in the middle of the ring. DiPaolo then goes hard into the rails before Kowalski ends it with a CLAW HOLD. Time: 1:37 **
Hacksaw Jim Duggan v. Iron Sheik w/Nikita Breznikov The Sheik is on the mic once again and the fans just hate him. Duggan has the fans chanting USA and the Sheik loses his mind. Duggan takes advantage and batters Sheik from corner to corner with fists, slams and clotheslines. The Sheik is reeling but wins a brawl on the floor and then loads up his boot. Duggan is busted open but manages to fight back to again take the advantage. The match goes back outside and this time Brenznikov makes it two on one. The referee calls for the disqualification and Duggan grabs his 2 x4 chasing Sheik and his manager to the back. Time 1:23 *
LOW World Tag Team Champions Jimmy & Johnny Valiant w/Captain Lou Albano v. Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) The Warriors were clearly not in a good mood as they stormed the ring. At the bell, Hawk tosses around both of the Champions while they make several defensive tags. Animal is in and dishes out some more the same punishment. The Warrior rock Jimmy Valiant with a spike piledriver. Hawk nearly gets the submission on Johnny Valiant with an over the shoulder backbreaker but Jimmy Valiant makes the save. The Warriors finish Johnny Valiant with a DOOMSDAY DEVICE with Animal getting the pin while Hawk takes out Jimmy Valiant and Ellering blocks Albano. The Warriors are once again Tag Team Champions. Time: 2:14 **
Congratulations to Hawk and Animal on becoming three time LOW World Tag Team Champions in a dominating performance against the Valiant Brothers . . . The Midnight Express stole one from the Last of the Famous International Playboys tonight. Beefcake and Bagwell immediately demanded a rematch . . . Things continue to heat up between Iron Sheik & Hacksaw Jim Duggan with another disqualification finish . . . Cowboy Bob Orton made his LOW debut attacking the Superfly after Snuka victory tonight . . . The next card will take place at the Capital Centre in Landover, MD, and will feature the following bouts.
• The Last of the Famous International Playboys get their return match with the Midnight Express
• Giant Baba meets Ox Baker
• Nature Boy Buddy Rogers battles The Sensational Destroyer
• In a battle of hardcore legends, Sabu faces The Sandman
• The war continues – Bobo Brazil teams with Red Bastien to meet Johnny & Greg Valentine in a Texas Tornado Match
• Harley Race goes after the World Title when he faces Nick Bockwinkel in a rematch from their war in Toronto
• LOW Tag Team Champions Road Warriors defend the titles against former Champions Jimmy & Johnny Valiant in a Steel Cage Match

Solid show in Albany, Bookerbill. I was hoping against hope that the Valiant's would retain against the Road Warriors but alas it was not to be. Congrats to Hawk & Animal on regaining the belts but the cage match in Landover should be a war. I really liked the debut of Cowboy Bob Orton and Killer Kowalski is looking real strong getting ready for his rematch with Andre the Giant.

After a few weeks off, it is time to get back to some LOW action....
LOW @ Landover, MD – Capital Centre - Card 21
The Last of the Famous International Playboys (Buff Bagwell & Brutus Beefcake) v. Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane) w/Jim Cornette Last time these two teams met the Playboys dominated but the Express came away with the win. Cornette catches Bagwell with a tennis racket to the back in the opening moment of the match and it is enough for Eaton to get the upper hand. The match is over seconds with a VEG-O-MATIC with the fans all over the referee. Time: 0:31. Dud
The Destroyer v. Buddy Rogers Both these competitors are battling to get back into the number one contenders spot. The Nature Boy dominates the action from the opening bell both in and out of the ring but it is The Destroyer who gets the first near fall when Rogers misses a deathjump smash. Rogers remains on the defensive until he rebounds off the ropes with a perfect cross body block. It is all Rogers from that point and he gets the win with a FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE. Time: 2:31 **
The Sandman v. Sabu The series of bouts between these two has not at all been what was expected as fans were still waiting for the level of violence to step up. There were points in this match that had the crowd on their feet. Sandman broke out the SINGAPORE CANE for a near fall and Sabu missed a TRIPLE JUMP MOOMSAULT. For the most part Sandman controlled the action until Sabu ran him head first into the ring post and was disqualified. Sabu then steps up the attack after the bell and puts Sandman through a table at ringside with a leg drop. Time: Sandman needs assistance leaving ringside. 4:02 ** ½
Cowboy Bob Orton appears on the Hot Seat with Bill Apter and Apter immediately questions Orton’s attack on Jimmy Snuka in Albany. Orton says it is simple. It is all about payback. He tells the fans that Snuka inflicted the worse injury in the history of wrestling when he broke his arm and now it was Snuka’s turn to suffer some broken bones.
Texas Tornado Match – Red Bastien & Bobo Brazil v. Greg and Johnny Valentine The ovation for Brazil and Bastien was off the charts as then came to the ring for one of the featured contests of the night. Plenty of brawling in this one as you would expect with all four men legal in the ring at the same time. Brazil and Bastien are on fire tonight and really batter the Valentines in and out of the ring. Greg Valentine takes the worst of it and Bastien gets the three count after an ATOMIC DROP. Time: 3:16 ** ½
Ox Baker v. Giant Baba The promoters continue to play up Baba’s heritage staging a Puroresu ceremony prior to the match. Baker could care less about the ceremony and has showed up with his working boots on tonight. Baker shocks the Japanese legend with the worst looking cross body block in history but it gets two. Baba somehow kicks out after a HEART PUNCH but he is clearly reeling for the balance of the bout. Baba ends up tangled in the ropes and Baker refuses to release him instead hammering punches and then biting the Japanese giant. The referee calls for the disqualification. Security quickly arrives to break up the attack before anyone is serious injured. 2:14 **
LOW World Champion Nick Bockwinkel w/Bobby Heenan v. Harley Race Bockwinkel and Heenan draw solid heat from the fans during the introduction but Bockwinkel jumps out to an early advantage picking up couple of near falls. Bockwinkel nails Race with a chair shot on the floor turning the heat up even more. Race looks to be in trouble but manages to turn things around on the floor with a back suplex at ringside! Race has Bockwinkel on the run picking up a near fall after a vertical suplex and a second after a driving headbutt. Bockwinkel gets trapped in the ropes and Race moves in hammering the helpless champion with headbutt and punches. The referee gets tangled up in the action and Race shoves the official to the mat. The bell sound. Bockwinkel retains on a DQ. The fans are not pleased but Heenan collects the World Champion and quickly leaves ringside. Time: 2:00 **
Steel Cage Match – LOW World Tag Team Champions Road Warriors w/Paul Ellering v. Jimmy & Johnny Valiant w/Captain Lou Albano The Valiant Brothers look scared to death as they approach the cage and Albano is doing nothing to calm them down. The cage closes and the Warriors go to work. Hawk gorilla press slams Johnny Valiant for a 2 count and then Animal mounts the corner for a deathjump crossbody block that not only looks impressive but gets the pin. Time: 0:36. dud
Ox Baker seems intent on destroying Giant Baba . . . A really decisive win tonight for Bobo Brazil and Red Bastien over the Valentines as there epic feud appears to be coming to an end but no before they clash inside a steel cage as part of the massif upcoming show at Madison Square Garden . . . World Champion Nick Bockwinkel escaped with his title intact but the fans question whether or not he has really put the challenge of Harley Race behind him or not . . . Sandman needed medical attention after being put through a table by Sabu. Although it was not confirmed, reports from an unidentified source stated Sandman had just bruised his ribs but it was no clear how much time, if any, he may miss in the ring . . . Dominating title defense for the Road Warriors tonight against the Valiant Brothers who have apparently given their notice and will look for work elsewhere . . . Buff Bagwell was furious after the opening bout tonight demanding that something be done about Jim Cornette’s interference but LOW officials simply advised that the referee’s decision was final and that they would happily arrange for a rematch . . . The next card will take place at the High School Gym in Stamford, CT, and will feature the following bouts. • Koko B. Ware dances his way to the ring against Ted DiBiase • Frank Gotch takes on Buddy Rogers in singles action • In a classic grudge match, Cowboy Bob Orton takes on Jimmy Snuka • Iron Sheik continues his feud with Hacksaw Jim Duggan • LOW World Tag Team Champions Road Warriors defend the titles against Bobo Brazil & Red Bastien
