I've been playing LOW and COTG for many years, however in the last few years I haven't been running my own fed. I was on vacation and after watching some old AWA shows on ESPN Classics I got very inspired to start my own Legends fed. The problem was I didn't bring my LOW stuff. So on the advice of my brother (ceo), I downloaded some bootlegs and off I went. Been loving it.
At a special press conference, Verne Gagne announced that he was starting up the American Wrestling Association. Verne explained that the AWA would be under the NWA umbrella. Therefore, Verne said that current NWA champion Harley Race would be recognized as the AWA heavyweight champion. Verne then said that Race would be required to defend the AWA championship at the Card #1.

Debeers, however, resorted to his cheap tactics and took control of the match before hitting Jarrett with the Face First Piledriver for the win.
Sgt. Slaughter and Hercules wrestled to the 15 minute time limit. In the most surprising match up, Hercules and Sgt Slaughter had the match of the night. Hercules pounded away with his powerful arsenal while Slaughter made use of his technical ability. The crowd was on their feet right up until the end. Slaughter actually locked in the Cobra Clutch but time expired as the referee was checking in on Hercules.
Kerry Von Erich defeated The Warlord via the Discus Punch at 11:01. The Warlord attacked Von Erich before the bell and went to town. He pummeled Von Erich but each time Von Erich found a way to keep the match going. The Warlord started to look winded and made a mistake which Von Erich capitalized on. He wore the Warlord down with the Claw before executing the Discus Punch for the pinfall.
Jerry Lawler defeated Harley Race via No Show. Harley Race, current AWA and NWA heavyweight champion, was supposed to wrestle Jarrett with the AWA championship on the line. Race never showed as he was booked elsewhere defending the NWA championship. Verne Gagne entered the ring and addressed the audience regarding the situation. He said since Race was a no show that he was stripping Race of the AWA championship and giving it to Jarrett. The decision was met with a chorus of boos. Jerry Lawler celebrated as he became the new AWA Heavyweight Champion!

Thanks man. I'm hoping to capture the old 1 hour wrestling shows, like on ESPN Classics, and trying to keep it more old school. More results on the way!

Results: The Blade Runners defeated Gagne/Powers via Bearhug/Vicious Blow at 4:51. Despite the obvious fact that they are green, the Blade Runners made an impressive debut against Greg Gagne and Jim Powers. The Blade Runners worked well as a team using many double team combinations as well as cutting the ring in half. In time and with more experience, they could be a force to be reckoned with in the AWA tag team division.
Verne Gagne entered the ring and announced that the AWA was planning on crowning its own AWA Tag Team Champions and would NOT recognized current NWA Tag Team Champions, the Road Warriors, as the champions. More details would be revealed in upcoming cards.

Kerry Von Erich defeated Colonel Debeers via Discus Punch at 13:47. Colonel Debeers immediately took control of the match by attacking Von Erich before the bell. Each time that Von Erich tried to mount a comeback, Debeers would use dirty tricks to maintain his advantage but Debeers was unable to capitalize at all. Von Erich eventually managed to mount a comeback when Debeers made a mistake. Von Erich locked in the Claw and then went to town on Debeers. Von Erich then hit the Discus Punch and covered Debeers for the three count.
In a special interview, AWA World Champion Jerry Lawler said that he would be a fighting champion and take on all contenders. When asked who he would grant a title shot to next, Jarrett plainly stated that there are currently no top contenders in the AWA. Kerry Von Erich's music played and he hit the ring to confront Lawler. Lawler flat out told Von Erich that he was not worthy of a title shot but he would reconsider if at Card #4, Von Erich could defeat an opponent of Lawler's choice. Von Erich accepted the challenge.
