I have a hard time believing that Tom would ever be "distraught" about any card beating another. I mean, Nitro "shouldn't" be able to beat Iron Hand, either, much less in Iron Hand's own match, 2 out of 3 falls.

Wow, where to start. I know most take what Tom says is gold, but to say the GWF is the best fighters is a totally false statement. While the federation itself may be the best, not all of the best fighters are in the GWF. I'd take Shylock to wipe out plenty on the GWF roster. If you want to argue a guy like Gryt, Plethador, etc are better than a Shylock...well, you must be a true GWF mark. And Steve Williams not that good. Wow. I'm guessing Tim, Chad, Cory and co should be fired for making him "that good". They simply take his stats from his place in wrestling where he was a main event guy everywhere he went except his WWF stint (and that was only because he got beat by Gunn). But not everything revolves around the WWF in the history of wrestling. Kinda hard to believe, I know I know. I'm still waiting why for anyone to explain to me why Tom made the Greek Gods and Heracles so good? So good they made it to Omega's team, the top team in the GWF. If all of the previous logic holds up, and Tom's logic as well, they should SUCK. Can anyone explain it? If that's Toms logic, then Plethador should wipe the mat with the Greek Gods or Heracles. You don't get it. The GWF is the main fed in all of the COTG feds. It's the flag ship so to speak. The goal of every wrestler in the galaxy is to make it to the GWF. Actagon and Proteus and later Heracles were simply the best fighters from Greece at that time. Better than Steve Williams could ever hope to be. They dominated their homeland and were hand picked by Star Warrior to travel to the future and battle the Gladiators in the GWF. It's a pretty simple concept to understand actually.

Well, I think we can save "distraught" for Tom's house burning down or the CC revoking his tenure or something.
The point is, you can downgrade the Legends all you want, make Monolith as souped-up as you want, and add all the Legends-vs.-GWF conversion charts you want, but there's always that chance that Monolith is going to roll snake-eyes at the wrong time and lose. Whether his opponent is Iron Hand or Steve Williams or 2092 Ursa Major. That's just how the game works--and you're free to chalk that up as a plus for the game or a limitation. Nineteen times out of twenty Doc isn't going to beat Monolith, but Kevin happened to be using him that twentieth time. Things happen.
If we just played every match as it appears on paper, why even roll the dice at all?

Man, what a great game Tom's created to be able to spark such conversations. Thanks to everyone for making such solid points and keeping things civil. And just to get back on subject before I lock this thread up...Galacticon was a blast this year and only promises to be better for #20! ...oh, and if you guys want to continue your discussion, which you're more than welcome to do, just go ahead and start up another thread. ~ :-Xsk
