Yep nearly there. Enjoyed playing it out. Looking at the handbook for classics 2086 and Early classics it’s going to be a busy year trying to cram all the twists and turns in. That’s why I’m going to extend to 24 cards instead of 12.

Card 139 - Phobos Sundome:
Omega eventually overcomes Dark Star Creature. The crowd is almost nodding off as Omega struggles with it. Clearly when the match was signed, it looked better on paper than it would turn out to be. The pattern was Omega getting offense and then the Dark Star Creature getting agitated and throwing him out of the ring, rinse and repeat. Omega has to change his approach and manages to slip an adapted version of an abdominal stretch (given the size). Dark Star feels some pain and gets hysterical which the referee takes as a submission call. Moments later it bursts free of the hold and Beast-Rider shows up ringside to help calm things down and lead it away. It’s obvious Dark Star Creature barely lacks the intelligence to wrestle and many wrestlers have now said having seen this match that they will not step in the ring with it. Only Mighty Grogan steps forward by saying he will relish the challenge
Wolf wins against Sin in a battle of hardcore icons. What a match up. How good would it of been on Aethra but even Sin isn’t that bold. Wolf doesn’t take any prisoners and rips right into Sin from the start. The dastardly Sin tries to turn it into a brawl anywhere but inside the ring but Wolf isn’t to be denied. He hits DECAPITATOR and whilst it doesn’t bring him victory it acts as the perfect setup for his beloved Savage Face Claw which does do the job for him
The Code Enforcer defeated Brute by DQ. Lots of endeavour from the Code Enforcer but he struggles to put any meaningful damage on the powerful Gladiator. The longer it went the more likely it would end in a brawl and so it was to be. Brute ends up incurring the wrath of the referee by grabbing the ringside announcer and tossing the poor chap into the Code Enforcer. Picking himself up off the floor the Code Enforcer leaps at Brute and the pair of them begin an all out scrap that goes all the way to the back
Massacre pinned Star Warrior after a MASSACRE SLAM. Decent battle in a developing feud, Star Warrior had been on a good run in singles matches which comes to end here
Krakan and Marcel de Sade beats Titan Dawn by DQ. Absolute epic as Krakan finds a reliable partner. It’s no secret he is sniffing for help in his rivalry with the Titans. The result was hanging in the balance until the Code Enforcer bursts in attacking Krakan just after he’d levelled Dragonfighter with a top rope clothesline. Lord Nexus knows better than to cross the Code Enforcer but will be upset at the DQ blot on his wrestling record given his noble persona
Blood destroys Mimic with SCAR TISSUE. Blood has had problems with his form over the past year but he is determined not to become another name on Mimic’s list of upsets. He looks like a different man in this one and reminds everyone of the guy that once captured the GWF belt.
Card 140 - Phobos Sundome:
Star Spangled (and GWF) champ, Commander Sam, loses to Wolf in a Cage match. This is the stuff that makes the GWF so great. Both make dramatic entrances and choose to climb their way into the cage instead of using the door. They end up wrestling battling at the top before they have even got inside! A wild match plays out and initially they are going toe to toe with each other in the centre of the cage. Neither gives an inch. When things settle down and some actually wrestling occurs Sam makes most of the running. Victory looking assured as he builds to and then hits SAM’S ATOMIC DROP. But Wolf is in no mood to be shown up and pulls Sam down just in time. Even though he is a Gladiator it seems Wolf has quite a following as several crowd sections cheer his recovery. The cheers seem to inspire him as Wolf goes wild and totally overwhelms Sam. It’s not a pretty move but a bite to Sam’s forehead gets the blood flowing and causes the champ to slump in a corner of the cage. Wolf easily escapes the cage and is handed the Star Spangled belt but throws it into the side of the cage calling it worthless. I am sure that he would prefer to be handed the Galaxian belt. Surely tonight’s victory has thrust him right into contention
Sin and Star Warrior grapple to a double DQ to set tongues wagging. Significant that Cosmos does not return the gesture of his partner by coming to ringside. Polarity is trying to keep their ongoing rivalry with the Gamemasters alive and not get pushed aside by the arrival of new teams like the Gladiators and Titan Dawn. Probably explains the ultra violent efforts of Sin here to make a mark but Star Warrior rises to the challenge and matches him weapon for weapon during their brawl
Cosmos beats Salvation. Tense start as Star Warrior comes to ringside to counteract Sin but both soon leave after the Code Enforcer armed with a crowbar warns them this is not acceptable behaviour. Onto the match and Cosmos rides some brilliant offense by Salvation to win but it takes MASTERLOCK three times. On the final occasion he refuses to release the hold and only a bucket of ice cold water being thrown over him by officials brings an end to Salvation’s suffering. Some sections of crowd even boo Cosmos for his action. Salvation surely injured as a consequence
Rama stuns Brute in just 3 moves to win with DEIMOS DRIVER. That’s 2 shock victories over the Gladiators tonight. With fast wins over Blood and now Brute the young Dazzler is making an unlikely name for himself in singles competition
Tano defeated Massacre. Jaw dropping moments as he kicks out of DECAPITATOR and MASSACRE SLAM to then fight back and stun Massacre with DEIMOS DRIVER
Hechilles and Blood defeated Titan Dawn. Intriguing battle in which the two veterans call on all their experience to beat the young Titans. Dragonfighter does fantastically well to get a shoulder up after THE END (perhaps instinctively) and even fought back to a point where he unsuccessfully unleashed TITAN DROP but he soon ran into the reborn Blood. The hardcore icon shows the Titans respect and mostly keeps it in the ring. He has too much intensity for the wilting Dragonfighter and finds success with SCAR TISSUE.

Card 141 - Luna Auditorium:
Tag champs, the Gamemasters, barely break sweat against Titan Dawn with Star Warrior needing just over a minute to pin Lord Nexus after NOVA LAUNCH. The Titan challenge is nearly left in tatters after they initially fail to show up on their announcement. The referee is just about to award the Gamemasters the match by forfeit when they appear. Turns out that when the Titans had tried to teleport themselves to the local gym (to avoid the crowds) they had been sent to another part of the galaxy entirely. Krakan is suspected of tampering and the time taken to recalibrate and come back almost causes the Titans to miss the match up. It plays a big factor in their crushing defeat. Lord Nexus promises the fans the Titans will challenge for the titles again soon but acknowledges they didn’t have the best prep what with losing their last match up and having to rush to make this one on time
Brute and Massacre steamrolls Polarity. Sin is helpless as Salvation is injured and barely able to help him. Sin falls easily to Massacre in a brutal beating that ends with MASSACRE SLAM. Massacre sarcastically thanks Cosmos for helping to make this match so easy for them but warns that his favour will come back to haunt him
Mighty Grogan pins Dark Star Creature. Grogan shows everyone just how it’s done. He has the power to actually hurt the vacant Creature and hits it hard from the start. The feeling of pain actually seems to wake Dark Star Creature from a confused slumber and it makes some attacks but it is just swinging at thin air. Even when one connects and takes Grogan off his feet the follow up is a big splash that is so badly timed that it misses by a mile. Grogan picks up the offensive baton again but like many others struggles to take the Creature down. He knows if he can only get it off it’s feet victory will be assured so decides on a different plan of attack. He reasons that with his bulk and power a leap off the turnbuckle should do the trick. Although Grogan is no master of the aerial arts he gets afforded plenty of time to get up there and set himself. Dark Star Creature just watches him and then goes down as Grogan flies off the turnbuckle. There is no attempt to resist the resulting cover and Grogan becomes the fastest man to beat the Creature
Code Enforcer pinned Wolf via CODE CROWBAR. Code Enforcer continues to hound the heels. Wolf already has 4 tokens before he even puts a move of any notoriety on the Code Enforcer (he has 7 by the end). Wolf hints at a stunning fightback but some of the early damage he took is just too inhibiting. CODE CROWBAR is one the most damaging finishers around and even someone with Wolf’s pedigree cannot withstand such a move, especially when laid out with it for a third time
Krakan obliterates Rama. The young Dazzler has scored a couple of sensational singles wins over recent cards but Krakan proves it is false hype. He toys with Rama. MILITARY MANUEVERS is used a couple of times to slow the bouncing Rama to a crawl and then a backward leg sweep to score the pin
Hechilles scrapes a win against Mimic. Hechilles so nearly another victim to Mimic’s upset list. He was just a bit too cocky and thought it’d be a walkover but seems to wake up in the nick of time and finishes Mimic with THE END before he can get embarrassed.
Card 142 - Luna Auditorium:
Galaxian champ, Commander Sam, successfully holds onto the belt against Omega. Having been quietly posting a few wins of late Omega challenges Sam himself. He admits he agonised over the decision. Both Star Warrior and Cosmos have done well enough in singles action to of warranted a look but Omega decides they have too much responsibility as being tag champs (which annoys Cosmos). He even thought about pushing Wolf but cites only being a recent arrival and not having paid his dues. So amazingly Omega gets a chance he thought he might never have again. He starts the match as the big underdog but wrestles his best match in years. Sam looks truly worried as his old friend turns back the hands of time and dictates the tempo. The match goes over ten minutes and an upset looks close at hand but Sam then shows attributes of a great champion to snatch victory out of the jaws of defeat. With a fleeting moment of control Sam, without hesitation, nails Omega with SAM’S ATOMIC DROP and gets the win. Talk about taking your chances. Sam salutes Omega in a compliment to the efforts shown and the two friends hug in the centre of the ring
Wolf beats Cosmos in a quick match. Cosmos seems troubled that the fans are cheering for Wolf more than him. He looks disgruntled by the manner of the defeat and heads over to the ring announcer. Pushing him to one side he is then on the mic to announce he is changing his ring name to Thantos. It’s all quite odd and nobody quite knows what to make of it. There is certainly a sinister undertone to the atmosphere. Omega later confirms the change of identity having received documents from Thantos registering the name change
Mighty Grogan wins over Dark Star Creature by DQ. Grogan has greater difficulty this time around. He tried a similar tactic to last time by going to the top rope but gets a great surprise when Dark Star Creature wanders over and tosses him hard into the middle of the ring. If it was anyone else then a sure fire pin would of followed but Dark Star Creature takes so long to work out what do that Grogan had almost thirty seconds to recover and as a result easily kicked out. Soon after the Dark Star Creature picks up the referee who had got a little too close and found himself body slammed into the canvas. A replacement ref was close at hand and he ruled it too dangerous to carry on and ended the match
Deimos Dazzlers get a win against Polarity by DQ. The Dazzlers triumph as Sin goes nuts after seeing his spiteful KNUCKLE SANDWICH fail to finish Rama
Lord Nexus pinned Marcel de Sade. Exhilarating stuff from Lord Nexus as he is hit with HEADSMAN GUILLOTINE on two separate occasions but responds with TITAN DROP and an awesome flying leg scissors to win
Krakan beats Dragonfighter in a big match opener. He is too strong for Dragonfighter and has little trouble disposing of him with MILITARY MANUEVERS.

GWF REPORT (2086 CARDS 139 - 142)
Champions:
*GWF Galaxian Champ: Commander Sam
*GWF Tag Champs: The Gamemasters
Latest News:
The fed is continuing to grow. While there have been quite a few high profile exits from the GWF in recent years Omega has been working hard (some say too hard!) on adding talent to the fed. His first acquisitions are the Neptunian Space Croppers who are a back to nature group consisting, led by Beast-Rider, of the tag team Natural Man and Renegade and a singles competitor Dark Star Creature (which has already wrestled a few matches). The Dark Star Creature has to be seen to be believed. An imposing figure not too well schooled in the art of wrestling but Beast-Rider will be working hard to try and teach him/it the sport! Mighty Grogan has already gone on record as saying he will relish the challenge of taking it down but other wrestlers seem less keen to step in the ring with it! To avoid breaking the code Beast-Rider has vowed that none of his team will aid eachother and he will never be at ringside. He prefers to be seen as more of a trainer than a manager. Another Titan has also been recruited. He is a young man called Pulsar and has received glowing reports over his wrestling skills. He will be teaming with Dragonfighter to form the Titan Express. Again Lord Nexus has been careful not to contravene the code and is saying the Titans are not grouping together. The additions of a couple more tag teams means the division is about to become a lot more hotly contested. Unfortunately it brings an end to the popular Titan Dawn team but Lord Nexus says they were never officially a team. Their link up was to test the waters and that Titan Express will be a much better trained team. It frees Lord Nexus up to pursue the GWF singles belt and he has shown steady improvement. He is a potential future champ. The rivalry between himself and Krakan is fierce and about to get even hotter as they race towards singles success. Krakan’s record has been impressive ever since his arrival and he is now set to add new moves to his wrestling style and what he promises is an even more potent finishing move. The word feud is discouraged in the GWF but many like to whisper the word when describing the battles between these two.
Brute and Massacre licking their wounds after suffering shock defeats against the Deimos Dazzlers in singles matches. After a devastating arrival they have stumbled and maybe the fear factor they had portrayed inside the ring has declined. For sure they remain dangerous opposition but other teams are now realising they are not invincible. The fact that the Gladiators are unable to just walk to title glory will be resonating back on Aethra.
Cosmos has been acting strangely. His refusal to release Salvation from MASTERLOCK (injuring him) turned heads. Then at the recent card on Deimos he made an announcement stating he would be changing his name to Thantos with immediate effect. He has also been distancing himself more and more from his partner. The obligation to defend the tag belts are seen as a distraction to his singles aspirations. Rumours are flying around that he has had a secret meeting with Morpheus who as everyone knows was at loggerheads with Omega after his retirement (speculation that he is acting as the Code Enforcer has cooled). Some are even saying that he is jealous of Omega’s attention to improving Star Warrior’s skills over him and as he sees them as a father and brother this is causing him to feel very neglected. He refused to speak to the hordes of journalists wanting to question him as he left training yesterday stating his time is too precious.
Card updates Nexus 2087 & Krakan 2087

Some good stuff as we close to the end. Cosmos changing his name. Krakan and Nexus hitting their primes (short as they were). Fun stuff.

Card 143 - Deimos Intergalactic Arena:
Hechilles and Blood defeated the Gamemasters in a non-title match. Cosmos in his first match as Thantos (I imagine that although Thantos hasn’t yet been scarred his style is already changing. Plus I was impatient to use the card). Comes across as really obnoxious. In the pre-match interview he dominates the mic and doesn’t allow his partner Star Warrior a word. When the match begins they don’t even come out together as a team with the ring announcer introducing them separately. This seems pretty significant. The lack of togetherness has an impact as an unexpected classic unfolds. Normally Hechilles and Blood wouldn’t of had much chance but tonight it’s different. Thantos sets the scene as he refuses to make a pin save for his partner after Blood uses SCAR TISSUE on him. Fortunately Star Warrior survives but Thantos looks unimpressed at his partner’s misgivings. However it’s soon his own turn to look bad. Having fought back into a controlling position he slaps MASTERLOCK on Hechilles expecting a quick submission only to see the move broken up near the ropes. Thantos remonstrates with the ref and then storms over to the apron in anger and tags Star Warrior in. After this Thantos sulks and barely tags back into the match. He is completely awol when Star Warrior is in trouble and subjected to THE END at the hands of Hechilles. Busily walking around the ring and showing no interest as Star Warrior is a sitting duck and pinned right in the middle of the ring. The shock defeat is met with some crowd hostility towards Thantos. He soon leaves and shows no thought for his partner who needs a little recovery time before he is ready to depart the glare of the ring area. In the aftermath Star Warrior looks to clarify the situation about the apparent animosity between the Gamemasters. He admits Cosmos (still uses his old name) is going through a hard time at the moment but that both Star Warrior and Omega are supporting him and believe Cosmos is still fully committed to the team
Mimic defeats Pulsar, both guys served up a cracker and leave the ring in high spirits. Krakan was snooping around at the end of the runway trying get a better look at the new Titan
Space Croppers win their debut against Deimos Dazzlers. The Space Croppers look pretty decent with Natural Man’s fluid style perfectly complimenting the wild ways of Renegade. They manage to match the Dazzlers and nick the win. It’s quite a journey as plenty happens. At one point Renegade shows his heelish streak by breaking a pin attempt on his partner after DEIMOS DRIVER and kicking off a brawl with all 4 men in the ring. The ref just about restores order after ushering the illegal extras back to their corners. Later on Renegade even puts SPINECRACKER on Rama outside the ring. Even after this the match goes back and forth but eventually Natural Man nails a flagging Rama with FLYING VINE to bring the curtain down on a terrific match
Wolf overcomes Dark Star Creature. Even Wolf realises how difficult wrestling this thing is. Wolf is mauled at the start and only a missed big splash from the Creature allows him to start getting some offense. He puts the Creature on the deck with great difficulty. For the first time the Creature actually reacts to a covering attempt on it and sends Wolf several feet in the air with a kick out. Not to be deterred Wolf keeps plugging away and uses an elbow off the turnbuckle to floor the Dark Star Creature again and this time the pin is a success. After the match is over Beast-Rider quickly comes down the runway to help retrieve the Creature safely from the ring but some flashing cameras go off and it gets in a panic. The ref gets on the wrong end of it’s rage and can’t stave off the Creature and is tossed from the ring before Beast-Rider gets control back. The GWF later announces the Beast-Rider will receive a fine for failing to control the Creature and compromising safety
Lord Nexus goes over Massacre with TITAN DROP. Lord Nexus knows how to win when the chips are down. He’s not at his best but still emerges as the winner quite easily. With every passing match he looks more and more like championship material
Omega upsets Krakan. As mentioned previously Krakan brings a new look and some different moves to the match. However he comes unstuck as the two of them end up grappling at the top of the turnbuckle. Omega swiftly suplexes Krakan into middle of the ring. The move takes the wind out of Krakan. Omega waits for him slowly rise to his feet and then takes him out with TOMAHAWK THRUST for the win.
***NEWS***
Beast-Rider tells his team to try and calm down. With Dark Star Creature causing him difficulty he wasn’t happy with the antics of Renegade on the Space Croppers debut (I used Renegade’s 2087 card for the match as I felt he was excitable for their first match and it brought out his wilder side. I now plan to switch to his classics card until Natural Man’s heel turn flips him over the edge). They have already copped the first ever fine in the GWF and Beast-Rider wants to stay in Omega’s good books and not create the wrong impression.
The Gamemasters trying to show unity. Star Warrior is being he spokesman as Thantos isn’t saying an awful lot. He confirms once again that the team is committed to keeping their tag belts and maintaining their record breaking run. Although they will both be wrestling singles matches on the next card Star Warrior says their next tag bout will be against Polarity on #145 as they defend the belts against them again. It could be Polarity’s last chance having failed in so many title shots before.

Card 144 - Niagara Tower of Lights:
Hechilles gets the measure of Thantos again. Thantos has been stewing ever since Hechilles showed him up on the last card. It leads to an intense battle but Hechilles is more than up for it. Incredibly he survived MASTERLOCK again. Both of them had taken each other down with a double clothesline but Thantos recovers quicker and slaps his favourite move on. He’s obviously in pain but Hechilles sits up and drags the pair of them slowly but surely towards the ropes. Thantos cannot believe it and makes an error as he goes to the top. He hears some fan barracking from the fans whilst he is poised and turns to tell them to get off his back. Hechilles notices this and forces himself to stand and goes over to the distracted Thantos pulling him down hard onto the canvas. This was the big opening he needed so he goes for THE END not once but twice for a massive win
Star Warrior defeated Wolf in a thriller. It’s interesting to see the allegiance of the fans for this one. Even though Wolf is a heel and part of the Gladiators he seems to have a decent following and almost matches the reception of Star Warrior when he is introduced. He seems to be liking the adulation. The initial hype eventually dies down so things can get started and as they receive instructions from the referee there seems to be a mutual respect between them. Once they lock up a match of incredible pace begins. They both just go for it and look for big high impact moves. Star Warrior focusing on aerial action and Wolf mixing it up with what can only be described as a fast hitting hardcore style. It was never going to be a long match considering this and it’s Star Warrior who prevails after hitting NOVA LAUNCH. He thinks about waiting for Wolf to recover and offering him a handshake but decides to abandon the plan when his recovering opponent starts snarling and looking agitated
Mimic manages to defeat Renegade. Mimic looks like he is dreading getting in the ring with Renegade. He spends a long time motioning to get in before quickly backing off and almost gets counted out. Renegade finds it funny and enjoys seeing the stress that Mimic appears to be under. Eventually he takes matters into his own hands and jumps out of the ring to drag Mimic into the action. Forced into engaging Mimic wakes up and gives a good account of himself and it’s obvious his greater wrestling experience counts for a lot. He tries MIME NERVE SLEEPER several times during the match. At first it has little effect but eventually seems to wear Renegade down and leads to Mimic’s impressive second consecutive win
Brute and Massacre overcomes Titan Express. Debuts don’t get much tougher than this for the Titan duo especially when Brute and Massacre have a point to prove after recent losses. They predictably lost but credit to the Titans as they made the Gladiators work hard. Pulsar fell to Massacre’s DECAPITATOR but defied claims that withstanding power moves would be his weak spot as he was subjected to MASSACRE SLAM twice and kicked out both times
Mighty Grogan triumphs over Lord Nexus. Says a lot about Lord Nexus that he wrestles another big fan favourite and hears the majority of the cheers. Memorable moment from the match was Grogan having a Boston crab applied but powering out by doing a push up and countering the hold. Lord Nexus also shows some clever stuff by slipping under Grogan’s DDT attempt and delivering one of the fastest drop kicks you’ll ever see. It’s a classic battle of power against agility but in the end Grogan is perhaps too strong and experienced. Lord Nexus starts to slow down as the power moves take their toll. The more they hit him the slower he gets until Grogan decides to go for the finish with UPPER CRUSH. Sportingly he helps his beaten opponent back to his feet and the crowd gives them both a big ovation. Grogan praises Lord Nexus in the aftermath, “I know I won but I can tell you this guy is future champ. He’s one of the most talented wrestlers I have ever faced”
Deimos Dazzlers defeated Krakan and Marcel de Sade. The Dazzlers are determined not to be left behind by the influx of talent and have forced themselves back into the reckoning with surprise wins over the Gladiators. They put some neat moves on and show tag team know how can overcome two singles guys just thrown together. Perhaps they ride their luck as Tano gets away with some interference after Krakan nailed Rama with FALLING FACE SLAM. It turned the match and a short while later they finished Krakan with DEIMOS DRIVER. Marcel de Sade not too happy as he saw very little action and felt he was only being used as an insurance policy for Krakan should he get into strife (which clearly didn’t work out too well for them).

Card 145 - Niagara Tower of Lights:
Galaxian champ, Commander Sam, rises to the occasion against Wolf. Sam brings both his belts to the ring but the Star Spangled strap is looking very sorry for itself. Technically it belongs to Wolf now but it continues to be snubbed. Sam wins it back as well as keeping the GWF belt needing just a handful of moves to defeat Wolf. He uses a choke to weaken Wolf and follows with a Commander Slam as a setup. Wolf doesn’t know where he is as he staggers to his feet and walks straight into SAM’S ATOMIC DROP. The failure by Wolf has resonated back on Aethra and all is not well between him, Brute and Massacre. They rarely acknowledge him as he is not pure Aethran and are now saying he has brought shame on the team
Tag champs, the Gamemasters, beat Polarity by DQ. Thantos makes his partner sweat by showing up very late. The ring announcer is in the third and final call before he emerges through the curtain. Despite this tense opening the Gamemasters are totally professional inside the ring happily exchanging tags and working hard for each other. Thantos makes a vital save for Star Warrior after Sin smashes him with KNUCKLE SANDWICH and Star Warrior returns the favour when the same thing happens to Thantos. It’s a great match so far and everyone looks forward to seeing how the final stages unfurl but then suddenly all hell breaks loose. Sin begins what will surely go down as an infamous attack on Thantos. Sin assaults the ref and is immediately DQ’d for his action. His reaction to this is to hurls the ref outside the ring. As Star Warrior checks on the official Sin pulls an ice pick hidden in his boots and swings at Thantos who had been looking over the ropes at the ref and his partner. Sin jumps on top of Thantos and continues working at the face with the ice pick. The screams of Thantos alerted Star Warrior but by the time he got back in much damage was done to his face. The amount of blood that flowed may never be forgotten. It was so bad that later reruns of the incident had to be heavily censored. Star Warrior is beside himself and desperately calls for help. Medics are having trouble entering the ring as Sin stops them but eventually their path is cleared as other wrestlers (led by the Code Enforcer) come out and forcefully remove him. After several minutes Thantos is carefully removed on a stretcher with sheets covering his face from the public eye
Killer Queen and Death Knight defeated Titan Express. Newcomers make their mark as they comfortably handle the Titans. Pulsar comes a cropper against Killer Queen as he misses a flying crossbody attempt. He gets easily pinned having already earlier been weakened with CHECKMATE
Krakan needs less than 30 seconds to beat Natural Man by count-out. The bell goes off and Krakan fires a boot into Natural Man’s midsection causing him to curl up and setup a reverse piledriver. Krakan then dumps Natural Man over the rope and stands in the ring arrogantly as they ref lays on the count
Omega beats Brute by DQ. In truth Omega got hammered by Brute. He does well to ride out DECAPITATOR twice but looks just about ready to drop when Brute is attacked by the Code Enforcer. Massacre rushes back out to assist his partner and together they are too strong for the Code Enforcer sending him away like a scalded dog
Code Enforcer gets the decision over Massacre by DQ. It’s a violent match which the Code Enforcer dominates and puts 5 tokens on Massacre (including CODE CROWBAR) but just cannot finish it. He does still emerge with the win as Brute joins Massacre to attack the Code Enforcer outside the ring. It’s worth keeping tabs on the Code Enforcer during the rest of the card as he is angry that the Gladiators steal a potential pin victory away from him.

Card 146 - Io Coliseum:
(The shock of what happened on the last card resonates here and is the main talking point. Regular updates on the condition of Thantos are fed to the viewers and plenty of rumour mongering over the futures of both teams involved, the Gamemasters and Polarity)
Brute and Massacre overcome the Space Croppers. All tag teams are on high alert over the situation surrounding the Gamemasters. It’s now more important than ever to be among the leading contenders to the belts ready to snaffle up any benefit that comes from the uncertain and weakened state of the reigning tag champs. Brute and Massacre recognise this and set out to bludgeon their opponents from the opening bell. Renegade offers up some resistance but Natural Man is a bit out of his depth. Remarkably despite an early battering the Space Croppers settle into the match more and Renegade puts his partner, Natural Man, in a position several times to use FLYING VINE on Massacre. Unfortunately an upset is avoided and Natural Man soon drops the advantage. He is hit with DECAPITATOR and then MASSACRE SLAM in short succession and looks helpless as he is pinned (Brute ensuring no more pin saves can be attempted by distracting Renegade with a wild exchange of abuse)
Mighty Grogan beats Dark Star Creature in an over the top rope challenge. This match was supposed to feature Mimic but upon getting in the ring and faced with the huge size of the Creature he gets spooked. He crumples in front of it and silently crawls backwards out of the ring and leaves. Rather than cheat the fans out of a match Beast-Rider comes out and speaks to the announcer. They issue an on the spot challenge for someone to come out and face the Dark Star Creature. After a short pause Grogan comes through the curtain. He shakes Beast-Rider by the hand and makes a suggestion that the match be an over-the-rope challenge meaning basically the first to throw the other outside the ring wins. Beast-Rider thinks his pet project may have more chance of getting a first ever win this way and agrees (also he stays ringside to help guide the Creature). The rules of the match mean things should be over pretty quickly but it drags on. Cut to the final moments and Dark Star Creature has Grogan in a position of danger and looks to be closing in on victory. Grogan is half over the rope and hanging on and all the Creature has to do is hoist him over but it gets confused and rolls out it’s long tongue to start licking Grogan’s head. Beast-Rider breaks silence and tries to instruct Dark Star Creature but it’s the worst thing he could of done. Dark Star Creature reacts by stepping over the rope (presumably to try and understand instruction more clearly) and loses the match. Beast-Rider receives plenty of post match flack for continuing to persist with something that clearly isn’t working and some rights groups even say it is cruel. Grogan leaps to his defense and says the Dark Star Creature is more intelligent than people give credit and enjoys wrestling, “I think it’s happy being in the ring doing something different and besides I enjoy wrestling it. Tonight was a bit different but the key is usually to knock it off it’s feet. Not easy to achieve but a very satisfying challenge”
Blood wins against Exo-King by DQ. Exo-King debut, he is on the mic “all hail the king” expecting the audience to then also bow before him. Blood pretends to play along but as he bows down he charges forward with a powerful shoulder into the King’s midriff. It signals the start of quite a battle with Blood’s hardcore tactics doing enough to keep Exo-King’s immense power at bay. Like many matches involving Blood in his GWF career it doesn’t end cleanly. Inevitably the action spills outside where Exo-King shows he has much to learn about concealing illegal moves. He smashes his sceptre across Blood’s head right under the referee’s nose and loses the match
Lord Nexus pinned Killer Queen. The Queen is certainly a showman and has plenty of flair in the ring. He has the skills to match Lord Nexus and even unsuccessfully uses CHECKMATE on him (the legendary Titan leg power helping Lord Nexus break out). In the end the Queen’s cockiness works against him. Does too much showboating and strutting and Lord Nexus is able to come back at him. A few TITAN DROPs later and Lord Nexus is having his hand raised in victory
Hechilles surging into some really hot form as he easily defeats Wolf. As hot as Hechilles is it would seem Wolf is mired in a slump. Not really too much to say other than Wolf got knocked silly with THE END and then pinned. Hechilles has got one eye on getting a title shot and also rides high as a tag team with Blood. It’s a strong position to be in and a nice predicament to have to choose between which belt to go after
Omega beat Death Knight by submission via an Indian Death Lock. Omega trying to put the horrors of #145 right to the back of his mind by taking on one of the mysterious newcomers. Death Knight doesn’t give him too many problems.
