GWF REPORT (2086 CARDS 143 - 146)
Champions:
*GWF Galaxian Champ: Commander Sam
*GWF Tag Champs: The Gamemasters
Latest News:
The GWF is in shock after Polarity’s (or more accurately Sin’s) assault on Thantos. The pouring of blood sickened even the most hardened of wrestling fans. Thantos was immediately hospitalised to treat a ferocious facial gash and reports suggest the scarring will be permanent. He has refused to let Omega and Star Warrior visit him in hospital and has even blamed Star Warrior for abandoning and letting Sin injure him on purpose. However he has received at least one visit from Morpheus! Star Warrior urgently schedules a press release to say there is no truth in the rumour that the Gamemasters are splitting up in the wake of the this horrific incident. Thantos just needs some recovery time and perhaps some counselling before they can resume their responsibilities as tag team champions.
It’s not clear if Sin specifically targeted Thantos as payback for injuring Salvation several cards ago or whether he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time (would it of happened to Star Warrior if roles were reversed?) The remaining roster of wrestlers have all refused to sign matches against Polarity. Sin (who shows no remorse) and Salvation may well be forced to quit the GWF over Sin’s heinous attack. Salvation is in the unfortunate position of being orphaned as a result of the stand off. Sin’s goal to make Polarity the bad boys of the GWF may have cost them dearly.
More problems are also possibly manifesting themselves. Three new wrestlers have joined the GWF. As soon as Omega allowed them to register they all changed their identities to Exo-King, Killer Queen and Death Knight. Despite all joining separately the name change has duped Omega and it is pretty clear they maybe intending to form their own group. Controversially they are allowed to compete despite having robotic implants. There is a worry that might give them an unfair advantage but when you see Death Knight wrestle it will be clear the implants don’t do much for his ability. The Code Enforcer has targeted these possible code breakers (especially Exo-King) and Omega has signed matches to try and take Death Knight down. Omega is looking more and more stressed as he shoulders the responsibility for what is happening.
Grogan is considering leaving GWF. “All the fun has been sucked out of wrestling, I don’t like all this violence. It’s so different to when I joined all those years ago”. The only thing keeping him going at the moment is that he finds the challenge of wrestling the Dark Star Creature quite satisfying but how long before that starts wearing thin. Perhaps the arrival of another big powerful guy, Exo-King, will offer him an additional interest.
Hechilles and Blood are being urged to keep tag teaming together. They had struck up an unlikely friendship and posted useful wins against Titan Dawn and the Gamemasters in recent times. Hechilles was forced to decide where his priorities lay as he is the top ranked singles competitor at the moment after wins over Thantos and Wolf. He opts to cash in on his singles position and will challenge Commander Sam. He tells Blood he cannot pass up the chance having never held the belt before. Blood is frustrated but he should really be a bit understanding having been an ex-champ himself.

Card 147 - Deimos Intergalactic Arena:
Star Spangled Strap match, Commander Sam defeated Marcel de Sade. The angle is fading. This non sanctioned secondary belt has rarely been seen or defended in recent months. It was never considered a valuable commodity and always seen as a bit of fun but it has now been overshadowed by more sinister events dominating the GWF. The strap has definitely seen better days with pieces broken off and looks more yellow than gold
Mighty Grogan beats Exo-King. They largely cancel each other out with their power. Grogan finds his UPPER CRUSH ineffective against Exo-King’s size so tries to focus on technical stuff and catch him out with a roll up. The change of focus helps and Exo-King, like so many big men, starts to tire badly as the clock ticks down. It looks like he might just see the match out to the time limit ending but Grogan gives UPPER CRUSH one last try and looks as surprised as anybody when it works out. There’s not much time to enjoy the victory as the Code Enforcer storms the ring with intent to attack Exo-King (to punish him for apparently banding together with Killer Queen and Death Knight). The King tries to fight back but is still worn out from the match and goes tumbling as he reaches for his sceptre allowing the Code Enforcer to grab it. Unfortunately the attack backfires as the Code Enforcer tries to strike Exo-King with it but ends up nailing Grogan across the back of his head. The Code Enforcer is taken aback by the accident and decides to break off the attack. Exo-King looking relieved to of got away with one tonight grabs his regal attire and stumbles away from the scene. Grogan is left behind nursing a bloody head injury. He has already been struggling to enjoy being in the GWF and this incident will not help
The Deimos Dazzlers and Space Croppers match ends in stalemate. The Dazzlers have always had substance to go with their style but in the current fed climate they are struggling. With this in mind this was a welcome match as the Space Croppers have similar principles to them. Entertaining stuff that flew by as it was all a bit of anti-climax when the bell went and time was up. The Space Croppers probably just shaded it with Natural Man the only guy to try his finisher a few times (albeit unsuccessfully)
Brute and Massacre defeated the Code Enforcer and Omega. The teaming up of Code Enforcer and Omega creates a talking point. Why would Omega align with someone responsible for orchestrating so many violent attacks even if it is against apparent rulebreakers. The team is no match for Brute and Massacre even allowing for a promising start. Brute smashes Omega with DECAPITATOR and the Gladiators march onto the next challenge
Krakan pinned Pulsar after FALLING FACE SLAM. A loss for Pulsar but he put plenty of good moves on Krakan and certainly had him worried
Lord Nexus quickly overcomes Death Knight after using TITAN DROP 3 times in the opening couple of minutes. It’s already clear that Death Knight will fill the role of GWF jobber.
Card 148 - Venus Space Station Complex:
Galaxian champ, Commander Sam, just holds onto the belt against Hechilles after a titanic tussle. Hechilles gives an incredible effort to try and finally get his hands on singles gold. At several points he looks the likely winner but Sam has really got the bit between his teeth these days. He has an aura of invincibility and turns it around. Being so close to Earth there is plenty of support for Sam as he nails Hechilles with SAM’S ATOMIC DROP to win
Cage match, Wolf outbrawls Renegade. Wolf brags cage matches are his speciality. He certainly backs this up with his intensity but Renegade’s quickness inside the cage does pose him some problems. It needs something special to put Renegade down long enough to enable an escape (Wolf doesn’t believe in pinning an opponent or using the door in a cage match). The answer comes in the form of a Wolf Skullcrusher that almost sends Renegade through the mat. Renegade suffers a concussion from the move and complains that is seeing double of everything for days after the bout
The Code Enforcer defeated Exo-King in a much awaited battle. It’s a wonder the ring can hold out with two such huge individuals squaring off. The King is in full flow arranging for red carpet to be rolled out for his ring entrance and throne to be brought down to ringside for him to sit in as he awaits the Code Enforcer’s entrance. As soon as the Code Enforcer emerges from the curtain he spots Exo-King sitting there and charges at him. The throne goes flying as the match commences. Such is the drama of it all and flurry to get out of the way that the entourage of officials forget to ring the bell. The beginning is probably the high point of the match as both combatants struggle to assert their authority. Lots of bear hugs, demonstrations of strength and generally too many slow spots. Nonetheless it builds to a finish as the Code Enforcer starts chopping Exo-King down and sees a position where he can use CODE CROWBAR. Exo-King is out for the count and loses this big match. It’s another defeat for the King who is undoubtedly a big player in the GWF but showing early weakness of lacking the stamina for matches that go on for too long. The pair of them clash again later in the card as their paths cross and footage airs of the Code Enforcer once again getting the better of things as he breaks a tile over Exo-King’s head leaving him laying in a pool of his own blood
Dragonfighter pinned Blood after using TITAN DROP several times. Blood looks like he’s woken up on the wrong side of the galaxy. He is not in good spirits refusing all interviews and looking far from focused in the match. Hechilles blowing him off as a tag partner seems to have a lot to do with it but take nothing away from Dragonfighter who was very impressive on this show
Mighty Grogan grinds out a victory over Killer Queen. Grogan is not impressed by the Queen’s theatrics. “This guy shouldn’t be in the ring, looks too scrawny to me even if he has got robotic implants”. He soon finds out that Killer Queen is more than just a crossdressing showman, he can actually wrestle. Grogan has to dig deep but he finds the extra gear needed and manages to catch the Queen out with an Olympic Roll Up
The Deimos Dazzlers best Dark Star Creature and Natural Man. The experiments of Beast-Rider continue. He tries pairing him with Natural Man as maybe having a partner will settle the Creature down. Doesn’t really work though. Natural Man does his best to carry the team but the Dazzlers work together brilliantly and target getting the Creature off it’s feet. They manage to link up and execute DEIMOS DRIVER to get the pin.

Card 149 - Venus Space Station Complex:
(TRAUMATIC TIMES AS THANTOS BREAKS THE CODE ... Still badly scarred from Sin’s ice pick attack Thantos conducts the most shocking move in GWF history. He comes out to help foil the Code Enforcer’s attack and then stays in the ring for a planned interview. He is carrying the sacred Galaxian code. Ignoring the questions he initiates a disgusting moment as he spits on the plaque and then grabs the mic to address the entire galaxy. He declares the Gamemasters are no longer a team and removes his tag team belt before throwing it on the floor. A long rant ensues with the likes of Polarity, Omega, Star Warrior, the Code Enforcer, Grogan and even Commander Sam all on his list of people to insult. In his final words he tells Omega how he sweated blood for him all these years but all along he lied through his teeth. All the accolades received teaming with his son count for nothing now. He looks down and pauses for a few moments before continuing ... “I leaned heavily on them for support and I’ve been let down. So now it is the turn of Omega and his son of a bitch son, Star Warrior, to bleed” and with that he uses an ice pick to break the code into a thousand pieces which are then strewn all over the ring. The Evil Ones join him and the last pieces of the jigsaw fall into place. The last message is that Thantos intends to go after the precious Galaxian belt now he is free from having to partner Star Warrior. He says that is another reason for his hatred. Omega knew his potential but always prevented him from forging a singles career as he wanted his own son to become the top star. With the backing of the other villains, starting with the Evil Ones (or as he calls them, his Royal Court), he now has all the support he needs to pursue the belt and takeover the fed as it’s villain leader ... BULLETIN ... Omega is pushed to breaking point over the shattered code and rushes to hospital in a health scare. Mixed reports surround the medical emergency with rumours he is on his last legs. As the night goes on there is a drip feed of information but by the morning it is confirmed there is no danger to Omega’s life)
Wolf wins a classic over Mighty Grogan. The main event takes place after the code breaking events detailed above. Grogan looks like he is almost in tears as he enters the ring. Despite the emotional stress he looks to be under Grogan gives his all but he runs into a charged up Wolf who is back in top form. Neither gives into the the other’s finisher. Wolf sees Grogan twice kick out after DECAPITATOR and also evade Savage Face Claw. Wolf himself busts out of UPPER CRUSH. There looks very little to split them until Wolf lays it all on the line with a death defying leap off the turnbuckle about fifteen minutes in which sends both of them crashing. It hurts them both but Wolf recovers sufficiently to drape an arm across Grogan’s neck and nab the pin. A truly magnificent match and just what the crowd needed after the shocking events they’d just witnessed
Killer Queen goes over Mimic as two oddities collide. Mimic obviously remembers the days when he formed an oddball tag team with Ricken Prince. He’s still got the funny crown and robe he used to wear and dons it once again for this match. Killer Queen is not impressed and in his zany voice admonishes Mimic for trying to impersonate royalty. He then attacks Mimic before he can even get his robe off and uses the garment to try and choke him. Mimic is never in it from this early setback. Killer Queen expertly smothers his attacks and showed even greater agility. A superbly executed suplex is all it takes to polish Mimic off. Killer Queen cavorts in celebration but then receives a post victory shock as the Code Enforcer rushes to the ring and floors him. Killer Queen is hit with CODE CROWBAR but before the attack gets any worse Thantos, Exo-King and Death Knight come out to shorten the length of the assault. The Code Enforcer satisfied with the blow he has dealt departs oblivious of what’s about to happen. The breaking of the code begins (read above)
Blood crushed Hechilles. There is a story behind this rivalry as it is a friendship turned sour as Blood was not happy with Hechilles for pulling the plug on their partnership to pursue solo glory. He says Hechilles dropped him just when they had a chance of challenging for the tag belts. The feeling of anger drives him to completely dominate Hechilles and by the third SCAR TISSUE it was all over
The Code Enforcer defeated Dark Star Creature in a match lasting only 3 moves. Code Enforcer becomes the latest wrestler to challenge the Creature. He justifies it by saying that Beast-Rider is showing signs of forming a group and the wrestlers he manages not showing exemplary behaviour. He then goes onto show everyone how it’s done by lunging at the Creature to leave it wobbling and allow for an Enforcer DDT. The Creature goes down with it but immediately pops back up looking really dazed. The Code Enforcer quickly throws himself off the ropes and jumps on it with a full nelson mauler. The Dark Star Creature fights it at first but remains tightly clamped and slowly begins to fade towards defeat
Krakan has very little trouble in beating Renegade. Even though he is not booked to wrestle there are reports that Thantos is in the complex. Speculation mounts as to what he is doing here. The news overshadows the Krakan-Renegade match
Lord Nexus and Pulsar blow the team of Marcel de Sade and Death Knight away. Lord Nexus was keen to team up with the promising new Titan whilst Marcel de Sade latches onto another random partner and is again left frustrated. It’s just too easy for the Titans as Lord Nexus uses TITAN DROP to beat Death Knight.

***BREAKING NEWS***
Tag Team belts have been declared vacant. Thantos declaration that the Gamemasters are no more means Star Warrior is without a partner. In Omega’s absence the GWF has moved quickly (after seeking approval from his hospital bed) to fill the gap and a tournament will be held almost immediately. Probably on the next show. It will feature the 4 top ranked teams of Brute and Massacre, Titan Express, the Space Croppers and the Deimos Dazzlers. Not that it means much in the wake of recent events but the Gamemasters match the distinction of the legendary Guardians tag team of having never been beaten for the belts now they’ve voluntarily given the belts up. Their reign officially ends after 52 cards. Lasting just shy of 4 years which is astonishing if anyone thinks about it.
Card 150 - Fire Island:
Tag Belt Tournament
First Round Matches
The Space Croppers defeat Brute and Massacre by DQ. Thrilling, tense and draining and by the end the hot favourites bomb out. Some great spots in the match. Massacre using DECAPITATOR several times on Renegade and scarcely believing it when either a pin save or dramatic kick out foils it each time. Then there was the moment Massacre was in peril after Renegade used CROPPER SLAM. Brute bursts in and clotheslines Renegade down from behind. The ref missing it as Natural Man was arguing with him ironically over Brute entering the ring. It was a battle of wills as to who recovered first and in the end it was Massacre. With such a let off it was assumed the Gladiators would move on towards the victory everyone was expecting but nobody reckoned on the determination of Natural Man. He ended up in a long tussle with Brute and frustrated him with his quickness and agility. It may of had an effect on angering Brute when Natural Man wriggled out of the ring under some extreme pressure. Brute followed him out and a wild brawl breaks out. The superior power of Brute now works against him as he wins the brawl and throws Natural Man into a table. The move draws the ire of the ref and the Space Croppers scrape the victory. The Gladiators fume at the ref and Brute even picks him up by the collar lifting him clean off the ground but is forced to release him as security staff start to close in on the ring armed an array of weapons ranging from wooden sticks to more damaging items like hammers (word is that the Code Enforcer is going around GWF venues arming staff with items to use against rulebreakers should they step out of line)
The Deimos Dazzlers edge past Titan Express. The tournament is proving a great advert for tag wrestling with another amazing match. The Titans lack experience (especially Pulsar) but wrestle with great heart and Dragonfighter so nearly books their passage to the final after TITAN DROP. The Dazzlers survive this big scare and probably just deserve to come through the bout as they stage a fight back. Rama sees off the stern resistance of the Titans after catching Pulsar with a leaping DDT.
Final Match
The Deimos Dazzlers defeated the Space Croppers to win the belts. Despite being seen largely as an entertaining team that cannot be taken too seriously the Dazzlers are on the cusp of their third EC tag title win and a possible second listing in the record books (only champs that manage at least one succesful defense get recorded). Their previous tournament matches were tough on both teams and it was no surprise that this didn’t quite have the same dramas. Not to say it didn’t have any incident. The Space Croppers could easily of been the ones walking away with the belts as Natural Man uses his FLYING VINE move for a near pin. The Dazzlers respond to their wake up call and work towards a spectacular moment as they link up to send Natural Man flying with a double back bodydrop. Natural Man is flat out and doesn’t know where he is as Rama dives on for the pin with Tano providing cover in case Renegade tries to jump in. The Dazzlers take the belts and bask in the adulation of the crowd. As they depart the ring journalists break through the crowd barriers and dozens of microphones get thrust into their faces. Tano gives a quick appraisal, “we may of won these belts before but it was a long time ago and this time it feels sweeter. It’s just a shame we didn’t do it in front of our home crowd but we still appreciate all the support. Now if you excuse me, it’s time to party!”
Other matches:
Commander Sam and Code Enforcer overcome Exo-King and Death Knight. Exo-King runs into a turnbuckle whilst grappling the Code Enforcer and it stuns him long enough to be pinned. As if the defeat was not bad enough for the Evil Ones they are then unexpectedly attacked by Avenging Warrior. He is still sweating from his earlier match as he rushes towards the ring. Wave after wave of attacks take place. Death Knight manages to get hold of barbed baseball bat to try and stop the attack but the Avenging Warrior keeps advancing towards him. Commander Sam tries to calm Avenging Warrior down and gets knocked out the ring himself. It’s a crazy move and could result in serious injuries. Sam yells out to the Code Enforcer to stop him but he simply backs away and doesn’t do anything. Does he think Avenging Warrior is treading on his toes? Fortunately Death Knight only dishes out one clumsy glancing blow which seems to snap Avenging Warrior back to his senses and he aborts any further plans to carry on
Avenging Warrior wins a tough battle over Killer Queen using NOVA LAUNCH to lay him out. Crowd is shocked as Star Warrior comes out in a mask and is announced as Avenging Warrior. He is ultra hardcore in the ring. The Avenger Cannon where he hangs Killer Queen upside down in the turnbuckle draws gasps from the crowd. His rage nearly proves to be a massive chink in his armour. Some of his actions would normally of led to him being disqualified many times over. The fact the decision didn’t come was probably more to do with his reputation than anything else. Killer Queen comes out with credit for hanging in there and actually almost causing an upset when he locked in CHECKMATE but in the end Avenging Warrior’s questionable tactics get the better of him. The switch of persona is the talk of the night. Has Star Warrior cracked under the pressure and turned to the side of the villians too Blood beats Krakan after a long match with a swinging neckbreaker. Krakan made most of the running including hitting FALLING FACE SLAM but it’s Blood that takes the spoils.
UPCOMING MATCHES …
#151# Brute and Massacre could finally get their hands on the tag straps as they challenge the Deimos Dazzlers … Thantos makes his return to the ring against Renegade … New team in action as the Greek Gods makes their bow against Death Knight and Killer Queen … Wolf looking to continue surging up the singles rankings by facing the inexperienced Dragonfighter. He may be able to tame serpents but can he tame a Wolf? … Lord Nexus against his good buddy Mighty Grogan in a contenders match. Grogan won their last meeting … Blood taking on Marcel de Sade

GWF REPORT (2086 CARDS 147 - 150)
Champions:
*GWF Galaxian Champ: Commander Sam
*GWF Tag Champs: The Deimos Dazzlers
Latest News:
The GWF is in breakdown after a shocking line of events. Thantos has surely changed the landscape of the GWF forever by his smashing of the engraved GALAXIAN CODE to bits in front of the galaxy on Venus. Exo-King, Killer Queen and Death Knight then joined him in the ring. In a shock move Exo-King and his subjects then got down on one knee before Thantos. It was interesting to see a King kneel before Thantos and become answerable to him. Thantos then announced he was blowing off Omega and golden child Star Warrior to form his own villain group of wrestlers starting with these three men that he called his Royal Court (perhaps shedding their previous nickname of the Evil Ones). They will become the closest allies of the new villain leader. Omega was so shocked he suffered a minor stroke in wake of the code breaking. Thankfully it is not serious but he must recuperate. It is unlikely he will ever be the same wrestler again with his body ravaged by age and health issues. He is trying to pick up the pieces and in protecting his son shoulders responsibility for everything that has happened. However, there is yet more soul destroying news that Star Warrior has flipped under the strain of it all. Omega’s attempts to protect him fail. Out of nowhere on the last card he donned a mask and demanded to be called the Avenging Warrior. Then totally out of character he attacked members of the Evil Ones (Commander Sam had to pull him off in the end) and is now signing vicious matches against them! He is following a dangerous path by using his rage to try and block out the pain of Thantos’s betrayal. Logically the code breaking could of been carried out by any number of shady characters such as Krakan or even the war mongering Gladiators but the fact it has been done by someone considered part of the first family of the GWF is what has added to the shock factor. One brave journalist approached Avenging Warrior to ask him why he was doing what he was doing and got a prickly response before being shoulder barged towards some garbage cans. The fans don’t know whether to cheer for him or not. Everyone is just confused.
Code Enforcer has been stepping up his attacks. He left Exo-King in agony after breaking a tile over his head as part of a double dose of attacks. Then Killer Queen was the next target. He was perpetually battered with blows and struck with CODE CROWBAR (the incident directly prior to the breaking of the code). Unfortunately there was also an accidental attack on Grogan. Of course now he will be looking to take out Thantos as the main target but has revealed he is also spying on Star Warrior (sorry, Avenging Warrior) and warns he may go after him too. Where will it all stop and what is his purpose now the code is broken? There is nothing left to protect.
Polarity are gone, they haven’t wrestled since the bloody attack on Thantos and cannot get anyone to sign a match against them. They also don’t fit into the current hero and villain setup as they would be on opposing sides if they stay. Sin may find a home in some unsupervised underground organisation but Salvation has been hit harder. He didn’t do anything in the incident and has always fought honourably. The only criticism is why didn’t he try and stop his partner but that is not how things work where they are from as opposites always work together and never impose their own will on each other. He could possibly of hung around in the GWF but would be a likely target of revenge so decided against that.
With all that’s happened it’s easy to forget that the Deimos Dazzlers made headlines too as they grabbed the vacant tag belts left behind by the Gamemasters. An extraordinary and unexpected triumph. Everyone is pleased for them but they will face a fierce battle to retain them as they have been told their opening challenge is from Brute and Massacre. The Gladiators are in a foul mood after their surprise tournament elimination having been the big favourites. They think they were purposefully disqualified against the Space Croppers to keep them away from the gold. The Dazzlers could be feeling the backlash. The Star Spangled Strap angle has run it’s course. The belt is missing in action and rumoured to of been flogged on the black market. Not that anyone cares about that. Sam always called it a bit of a fun but things are more serious now and as the GWF champ there are far greater priorities than to worry about it’s whereabouts.

Card 151 - Deimos Intergalactic Arena:
Tag champs, the Deimos Dazzlers defeated Brute and Massacre. The Dazzlers are desperate to hold onto the belts in front of the home crowd but surely the Gladiators wouldn’t fail this time. As a result both teams are under pressure and it reflects in the way things progress. It’s exciting to watch but neither team can impose themselves. Brute looks slow and sluggish but the Dazzlers are struggling to put any lasting damage on either Gladiator. Eventually Massacre gets a run on Tano hitting DECAPITATOR and MASSACRE SLAM. The belt switch looks close at hand but Tano somehow clings on. Massacre’s face changes from arrogance to anger. Aiming to put this punk away once and for all Massacre goes to the top for a huge deathjump but misses the mark and Tano remarkably pins him
Thantos overcame Renegade. Lots of build up as Thantos returns to action. He makes allowances for his injury by wearing a temporary mask. He certainly seems to feel pressure in the glow of currently being the most hated in the GWF. On his ring entrance he gets involved in verbals with hecklers in the crowd showing that he is agitated and even anxious. Against the unpredictable Renegade it’s expected to be bumpy ride but Thantos is in total control and barely breaks sweat
Greek Gods easily defeat Death Knight and Killer Queen. Lots of intrigue for the debut of the Gods. They are firmly affiliated to the hero team and look like they will be a force in a tag division that is growing in strength. Actagon does the business for them by using a move known as GRECIAN SLEEPER GRIP on Death Knight
Dragonfighter quickly upsets Wolf after TITAN DROP (the third attempt). Krakan troops to the ring and sits down next the announcers in a blatant attempt to intimidate Dragonfighter. They try to force him to leave but he says he is there only as a spectator to the enjoy the match at close quarters. His presence seems to bother Wolf just as much as it does Dragonfighter. Krakan holds his ground and witnesses an impressive from Dragonfighter. To beat Wolf so easily is a big thing to add to his GWF win/loss record. Krakan fakes enthusiasm for the encounter and claps the victory but as soon as Dragonfighter turns his back and has his arms raised by the referee he suddenly leaves the table. He enters the ring and closes in on the young Titan. Dragonfighter turns in time and they have a stand off but Krakan reaches into his pockets and produces brass knuckles which he puts on. Fans are urging Wolf to help Dragonfighter but the Gladiator departs as this is not his battle to interfere within. Krakan goes for Dragonfighter but without the element of surprise the young Titan is able to fight back. He doesn’t have a weapon to help him but manages to floor Krakan with some impressive martial arts despite having to absorb a few hits himself. Krakan realises he cannot get the better of this battle and chooses to switch to a tirade of abuse directed at all Titans before leaving. Dragonfighter stands defiant in the ring. He is bruised and battered but importantly still on his feet. It’s been a memorable night for the Titans
Lord Nexus beats Mighty Grogan in a match to determine the top contender. Nothing is going to stop Lord Nexus in this match. He is in exceptional form and shows he has learned much from his last match with Grogan. He is able to cope much better with the power differential and makes sure he doesn’t get caught in wrestling holds or on the mat. When his finisher fails he moves to another of his favourite and most devastating moves with a spectacular drop kick off the top turnbuckle which yields success. Grogan gathers his senses and hugs Lord Nexus to congratulate him. He later says more nice things, “I am a big fan of Lord Nexus and think he can win the belt. I do have a lot of respect the sitting champ Commander Sam but I am supporting Lord Nexus. He deserves his shot at glory”
Blood easily defeats Marcel de Sade to remain hot.
Card 152 - Deimos Intergalactic Arena:
Lord Nexus pinned Commander Sam to win the GWF belt. The GWF may of split into two factions of heroes and villains but it hasn’t stopped heroes signing matches or defending belts against one another. The unwritten rule that wrestlers don’t tend to square off against wrestlers on their own side hasn’t fully taken effect yet. It’s a strange match as it ends up outside a lot but neither actually intends for it to be that way. Just lots of moves that lead to it happening. Lord Nexus is really over with the fans and they are right behind him. His move set is on an incredible level and he seems to have an answer for anything Sam tries. His offense is an impressive mix of aerials moves and martial arts to complement Titan leg strength. Sam is working hard to lift his own level but in charging at Lord Nexus runs right into a karate chop across the neck that send him back hard against the turnbuckle. It has enough impact in it to leave Sam seeing stars and Lord Nexus sends the arena crazy as he follows up for the pin. Fantastic moment and one that will make Krakan feel sick to see
Avenging Warrior defeated Death Knight by DQ. Punishing stuff from Avenging Warrior but Death Knight is offered a glimmer of hope as Avenging Warrior tries to battle with his rage. He seems to be showing a split personality. At one point he has a chair raised above his head ready to nail Death Knight but as he motions to bring it down suddenly stops himself. Death Knight is inches from a violent blow but Avenging Warrior then tosses the chair away and continues wrestling the match. Quite why the ref didn’t intervene and just stood watching is baffling. The hesitation means Death Knight can get a few timely shots in but Avenging Warrior soon manages to resume total control and later hits NOVA LAUNCH only for Exo-King to enter the ring and start attacking him. Now the bell goes off but Avenging Warrior is in trouble as Exo-King grabs him from behind and Death Knight uses the very chair tossed away earlier to ram several times into his stomach. Avenging Warrior’s recent attitude has left him short on friends and nobody is coming to help him out. He must take his licks. The Evil Ones keep up the attack until Thantos himself shows up to call them off. He doesn’t want Avenging Warrior too beat up or else he won’t be able finish the job himself. The beating is just a reminder that Thantos is the main man in the GWF now and all heroes (especially Avenging Warrior) better watch their backs
Brute and Massacre crush Titan Express. The Titans are totally overpowered and Massacre pins Dragonfighter after smashing him with a clothesline
Wolf overcomes Krakan. Spontaneous match with some heat. Although he didn’t do anything Wolf was boiling mad at Krakan for sticking his nose into his previous match with Dragonfighter. They are kicking lumps out of each other at first but Wolf seems more driven. You get the impression this is a problem Krakan does not want and after a few minutes he gets overwhelmed and pinned following DECAPITATOR
Code Enforcer defeated Renegade by DQ in a difficult match. It looked like he would dispose of Renegade quickly after CODE CROWBAR in the early moments but the move failed to lead to a pin. Renegade rallies impressively but instigates too many out of ring brawls. The Code Enforcer is always happy to slug it out wherever the match takes him and is a little smarter about his actions. Renegade on the other hand seems to make a grab for whatever he can. Armed with a chain that he pulls off adjoining crowd barriers he wraps it around his fist. The ref dashes out to try and talk him down from using it but gets barged to one side drawing the DQ. Renegade hears the bell and calms down before he uses it. He puts his head in hands and then bangs the floor in frustration at blowing the chance of a big win. The Code Enforcer doesn’t hang around to hear the decision and we are wondering how much longer we will see him in the GWF now his role has been rendered meaningless
Mighty Grogan is too strong for Marcel de Sade. Grogan seems to be losing interest. He is normally very approachable but refuses all post match interviews.

***NEWS***
Thantos holding many meetings with other wrestlers trying to build up the villain roster that he will lead. He makes no secret of the fact he is trying to recruit the Gladiators (which has angered Wolf), “with my guidance I can help them win the tag belts that they crave”. It’s pretty clear looking at some guys which side they will fight on as they fit the mould of a hero or villain but there are also many sitting on the fence (such as Blood) and even questioning if they want to be a part of it all. The pressure to make a career decision and pick a side will mount as we close in on 2087.
Card 153 - Deimos Intergalactic Arena:
(Mid-card Interview ... Omega makes his first appearance since his stroke scare but he is a shadow of his former self. His expression says it all as he hobbles to the ring and looks frail and in need of nourishment. It’s painful to watch as Omega remains very static and has trouble stringing some words together. An assistant even enters the ring after a short while to help prop him up. Omega is adamant it’s BAU and that he will improve, he then admits that the hero teams may now have to start banding together to combat the villain threat. He goes on to say “for my own sanity I need to get back into office and into the ring to rediscover my mojo. I need to adapt my style to deal with my limitations but hopefully my return will be soon and as I am getting better every day. At first I couldn’t even walk but my mobility is not far from returning to normal”. Indeed the treatment he has received has been remarkable and with medical advances many stroke victims make rapid and full recoveries. Carefully Omega leaves the ring spotlight and slowly makes his way to the back. It is so sad that many younger fans will only know this older, slower incarnation of Omega ravaged by injury and a broken heart. In his prime he had ring skills second to none and was certainly an all-time great)
Lord Nexus defeated Exo-King in a non-title bout. Exo-King stokes things up by saying Lord Nexus maybe the GWF champ but personally he prefers the title of King than champion, “anyone can be a champion. Even low class scum, Lord Nexus is a perfect example. To be a King is not something anybody can achieve. It is reserved only for special people like myself and can never be taken away or disputed”. Lord Nexus shows no respect for royalty with a dominating demonstration of wrestling. It takes a lot of damage needing dishing out though as he has to put 7 tokens on Exo-King and we all lost count of the times Lord Nexus used TITAN DROP. A spectacular moonsault is the move that brings the victory that always looked like it was coming. Big crowd ovation awaits Lord Nexus who has slid into the spot of being the most popular guy in the GWF. Lord Nexus is kind of embarrassed by his new found lofty status but admits it’s nice to hear the cheers
Thantos defeated Mighty Grogan to continue his surge into the upper tier of singles wrestlers and probably cement his place as a main eventer. Grogan looks very stone faced and is clearly not enjoying his job. He is not in the best condition coming into the match looking a bit overweight and tired. He hasn’t been training much as he deals with depression over the form his beloved sport has taken. Thantos turns the screw by saying this old has been is not in his league. Indeed it proves that way although Thantos does nearly come a cropper as he gets tossed off the turnbuckle and clamped in UPPER CRUSH mid-match but Grogan’s lack of conditioning means it lacks it’s usual force. Once Thantos busts free with an eye gouge to release the hold he never looks back. He actually outwrestles one of the fed’s finest technicians easily and takes the win after a superbly timed running clothesline
Dark Star Creature overcomes Pulsar. Finally a win for the Creature after a clumsy running collision. Pulsar tries hard but just cannot seem to take the Creature down. Even when the crowd noise levels rise to try and spur him on it is futile. There is too much differential in size and strength
Brute and Massacre defeated the Space Croppers in dominating fashion. They took it in turns to smash Natural Man with DECAPITATOR. The Gladiators are obsessed with capturing the tag belts. Pressure coming out of Aethra making life difficult for the war mongering Gladiators. Since their last failure against the Dazzlers they have now battered both Titan Express and the Space Croppers to keep themselves in the top contenders spot. Rama has admitted to close friends that the relentless pursuing by the Gladiators has got him nervous and he thinks their reign with the belts may have a short life cycle
The Code Enforcer pinned Krakan after an Enforcer DDT. It is notable that the attacks of the Code Enforcer seem to of stopped in the last few cards
Hechilles canters to a win over Marcel de Sade via THE END. After a promising start to life in the GWF de Sade has slipped into a curtain jerker role much like guys such as Silvar and Mimic before him.
Card 154 - Fire Island:
The Deimos Dazzlers cruise to victory over Killer Queen and Death Knight in a non-title meeting. Death Knight the weak spot again as he gets pinned after Flashing Daggers. Although it was another respectable win for the Dazzlers the main talking point is from before the show where Rama is seen in a meeting with several other wrestlers. All looking very serious and reports that he and his partner feel they are getting swallowed up by a new violent GWF and not sure if they want to be a part of it. Some of the other wrestlers feel the same
Thantos shows his class again by needing barely a minute to polish the Code Enforcer off with MASTERLOCK (unknown at the time but this is the last time we would see the Code Enforcer in the GWF)
Dragonfighter hands Ghengis Khan a miserable debut by completely dominating and ending it on TITAN DROP. Khan didn’t get a look in
Mutant beats a struggling Mighty Grogan by DQ. Krakan is angry as Mutant could and should have beaten Grogan with a pin or submission but failed to use the finisher Krakan has been training it on reliably. Only once did Mutant attempt TEMPLE GRINDER. Grogan still loses in unusual fashion as he bumps the ref accidentally whilst trying to fight the crazed Mutant off him. When the bell goes off Mutant still doesn’t stop attacking and it needs Krakan to enter the ring and throw a chain around it. Krakan then publicly gives his new slave both barrels for failing to follow instruction and takes great delight in withholding food from Mutant who whimpers pathetically
Greek Gods look good again as they beat the Space Croppers. They work hard to take control of the match and Actagon puts Renegade in the GRECIAN SLEEPER GRIP
Mimic upsets Avenging Warrior. This is perhaps Mimic’s biggest upset scalp of all. Avenging Warrior suffers a loss of control and Mimic just picks him off. Using his trusted MIME NERVE SLEEPER he is able to finish him off. Avenging Warrior recovers and goes on a mad spree of vandalising ring equipment. Security forcefully remove him and then never leave his side until he departs the venue to prevent him flying off again and also to keep him away from Thantos who is wrestling later in the show.
