I have decided to stop my Indy Feds. I was just not enjoying playing out the cards finding they more work than fun. As a result, I am going to return to older concept of mine . . . Ontario Wrestling Network.
I am also returning to a more classic reporting style which should save on the labour of reporting and keep the dice rolling!
Here is the first card. Hope everyone can forgive the restart (yet again) and check out the action.
Card 01 – Ontario Wresting Network – “A Wrestling Odyssey” – Don Korlov Arena, Mississauga, ON
David Marquez welcomes the fans to a new era of professional wrestling in Ontario, the Ontario Wrestling Network. Tonight we will see action from the three partner promotions that have come together to form the network, Pride of Wrestling, Pride of Fight and Elite Women’s Athletics.
Roderick Strong w/Truth Martin v. “Die Hard” Eddie Edwards
A slick promo from the leader of the Southern Ontario House of Truth (SO HOT!) and the fans are quickly into this one. Edwards absolutely dominated the action from the open the bell with a great mix of maneuvers but was not able to get Strong into a submission or pinning position. Strong had his moments but was frustrated until late in the match when he rebounded off the ropes catching Edwards with a roaring elbow. Edwards never really recovered and Strong when for the kill using one SICK KICK and three STRONG HOLDS (with an End of Heartache thrown in as well) to get the submission victory. 2.0
Brodie Lee v. Rhino
With over five hundred pounds of power in the ring, the fans were paying attention to this tilt. Talk about intensity. Lee scored with a BIG BOOT after only two moves and from there things only picked up. Rhino was able to get out of trouble countering a charge into the corner with vicious lariat. It was power move after power move from both men from start to finish. It did not last long however, as Rhino stunned Lee with a spinning spinebuster to get the pin. 1.5
Pink Ladies (Madison Eagles & Jessie McKay) v. Canadian Ninjas (Nicole Matthews & Portia Perez)
The Ladies struck first with a SCHOOL GIRL CRUSH TO Perez but it was only for a two count. The Ninja were able to get the advantage and nearly put away Eagles with a FUNKY COLD MEDNIA but Eagles kicked out at the last second and the action carried on. The Ninjas pressed the attack but some key defensive tags kept the Ladies in the match until the momentum finally turned in favour of the Eagles and McKay. It was Eagles who picked up the pin with back to back HELL BOUNDS on Perez. 2.0
Atomicos Match – Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) & Team FIST (Chuck Taylor, Johnny Gargano & Icarus) v. Colony (Fire Ant, Soldier Ant & Green Ant) & Quacksaw (Mike Quackenbush & Jigsaw)
What an insane match. The action was non-stop. Twice during the contest things broke down into all out brawl after pinsaves. Chuck Taylor was saved from a SUPER MEGA ANTAPULT and ANTS GO MARCHING back to back. Later in the action, Green Ant was saved from MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK and a HURTS DONUT. Fire Ant hit his BEACH BREAK but could not get the victory. The Bucks put on a defensive tag clinic but in the end, Quackenbush used a Quackendriver to set up a QUACKENDRIVER IV to pin Matt Jackson. 4.0
A.R. Fox v. Sami Callihan
Callihan really pushed the attack against Fox from the opening bell. His Forearm 2 Remember lit up Fox and his suicide dive lit up ringside. Fox managed to escape a STRETCH MUFFLER but Callihan was on fire tonight and returned to his finisher a second time to claim the one sided victory. After the match, Arik Cannon, Darin Corbin and Pinkie Sanchez hit the ring and it is a four on one beat down on Fox. Spike Piledriver to Fox! The Dirty Ugly F@#!ks tear apart ringside while Fox is treated by medical staff. Two card injury for Fox. Huge heat for DUF. 1.0
Saraya Knight v. Lufisto
Some early controversy in this one when there is a referee bump with the official down for five moves. Neither competitor is in a position for victory during this time. Knight dominated a significant portion of the match but Lufisto had her moments including ramming Knight’s face off a ringside table and hitting several Tiger Suplexes. Lufisto cannot find a way however to finish her opponent and Knight is able to get the submission with a KNIGHTMARE. 2.0
Suicide Kings (Danny Havoc, Drake Younger & Eddie Kingston) v. SCUM (“Wrestling’s Worst Nightmare” Kevin Steen, “Zombie Princess” Jimmy Jacobs & “King of Old School” Steve Corino)
SCUM gets some serious heat with their work on the mic before the bell. Once the bell sounds, SCUM dominate this one cutting off Kingston from his partners. The intensity against SCUM increases when Corino chokes out Kingston from outside while not the legal man in the ring leading to a near fall by Jacobs. The Zombie Princess then breaks out the RAILROAD SPIKE to finish Kingston and leave him defeated and bloodied in the ring. 1.5
Claudio Castagnoli v. El Generico v. “American Wolf” Davey Richards
The action is non-stop from the outset with Castagnoli using his size to dominate his smaller foes. Richards manages to survive a RICOLA BOMB and the action continues. Generico goes on a run after an Ole Chant from the fans. The finish starts when Richards gains the upper hand on Castagnoli at ringside and put him through a table with a powerbomb. With the crowd still chanting, Richards traps Generico with an ANKLE LOCK in the middle of the ring to take the win. 2.0
Notes: After the card, David Marquez announces that the members of DUF have been suspended for five cards as result of their actions tonight. This will make then ineligible for the upcoming matches to determine the Pride of Fight Championship and Pride of Fight Tag Team Championship.
Up next, the debut event from Elite Women’s Athletics from the Alpine Club in Kitchener featuring the following contests:
• Canadian Ninjas v. Degeneration X
• Christine Von Erie v. Jessie McKay
• Courtney Rush v. Kellie Skater
• Sara Del Rey v. Veda Scott
• Daizee Haze v. Mia Yim
• Lufisto v. Kimber Lee
• Mercedes Martinez v. Athena
• Elite Women’s Title Match – Saraya Knight v. Madison Eagles v. McChif v. Cheerleader Melissa
I am also returning to a more classic reporting style which should save on the labour of reporting and keep the dice rolling!
