BULLETIN: What a turn of events during card #24!! Stan Hansen returns, Abdullah the Butcher leaves, Savage teams with Snuka to capture the gold, and the team of Bockwinkel and Stevens are now on shaky ground (much to the Brain's dismay).
Please note that the barbed wire, loser-leaves WWGP match between Brody and Butcher was not allowed for broadcast due to its brutality, a series of black and white stills reported the results to explain why Butcher will not appear in a WWGP ring for awhile.
Stay tuned to see what happens at ringside!

Showdown Challenge Tour #1 Cage Match Double Header at the Meadowlands
Bill Apter opened the show interviewing Tully Blanchard and his manager JJ Dillon. Blanchard was the runner-up in a recent Beat The Bug Showdown Tournament and had plenty to say. He claimed that referee Morgan Dollar screwed him out of the tournament and title in his loss to Thesz. Dillon claims he is contact with the best legal team in the country to ensure he gets a fair shake and challenge the slanderous comments that he paid off Abdullah the Butcher to injure Thesz. Blanchard claimed that Thesz influenced the officials with his sanctimonious attitude and payoff. He even pointed out a post-tournament interview with Thesz as the champion stated Dollar is a "fine official". Blanchard said the fix was in and he was railroaded, calling out Thesz that he can take the title "anytime, anyplace". Thesz answered the challenge and while these two were scheduled for a match later, what better way to kick off the tour with a title match!
Ultimate Champion Lou Thesz d. Tully Blanchard (w/ JJ Dillon) by COR. Both men held early advantages but referee Morgan Dollar called this match by the book. Blanchard was frustrated and ended up counted out. This rivalry is not over as they fought to the back much to the crowd's delight.
Mildred Burke beat Ida Mae Martinez in a best of three falls match, using the ALLIGATOR CLUTCH to win her second fall.
Killer Kowalski won a 21-man, come as you are street brawl battle royal. Hacksaw Duggan was last eliminated after Kowalski also tossed Al Snow. The Killer would like a Hardcore Title Match.
Nikolai Volkoff d. Steve Williams with a BACKBREAKER DROP. Battle of powerhouses, saw Volkoff squeeze by the good Doctor with his impressive finisher. Which finisher is better? Volkoff's BACKBREAKER DROP or Williams OKLAHOMA STAMPEDE?
Ladies Champion Fabulous Moolah d. Trish Stratus with a JACKKNIFE CRADLE in another rematch from the Beat The Bug Showdowns.
Sandman d. Hardcore Champion Rob Van Dam to win the title! Sandman used the SINGAPORE CANE to win this match, setting up a title match with Killer Kowalski down the road.
CAN-AM Flyers, Jim Brunzell and Red Lyons d. The Quebecers in an exciting tag-team match. After many pin saves, Brunzell polished off Jacques with his patented HIGH FLYING DROPKICK.
Commissioner Teddy Long ordered the match between Vader and Abdullah the Butcher as a Chain Match, since he needed a way to contain these two wild bulls.
Candi Devine d. Sherri Martel with two double leg catapults, followed by a CROSS-BODY BLOCK for the pin on a stunned Sherri.
Vader d. Abdullah The Butcher in a brutal chain match. Both men were bloodied, using the chain as a weapon in a variety of ways.
The James Gang and Cornette’s Midnight Express battled to a DDQ that went all over the arena.
CAGE MATCH DOUBLE HEADER Cage Match #1: Randy Savage d. Ted Dibiase. A bloody Dibiase fell easy prey to a series of vicious knee drop as Savage wanted payback for Dibiase purchasing the services of his manager, Sherri Martel.
Cage Match #2: Larry Zbyszko d. Nick Bockwinkel with a PILEDRIVER. These rivals used the cage as a bludgeon but Larry Legend squeaked by a win in this exciting cage match.

Showdown Challenge Tour #2 Featuring a Queen Of the Hill Battle Royal in Baltimore
Candi Devine upset Ladies Champion Fabulous Moolah to win the TITLE!! Devine used four consecutive SUNSET FLIPS to breakdown the defenses of the champ and get a pinfall! Excellent display of agility and creativity to keep the champ off-balance.
The Midnight Express d. James Gang in Falls Count Anywhere match. The James Gang almost won the match leading off with an impressive hot shot on Lane, but the resourceful Midnights rallied to use the ROCKET LAUNCHER to pin Kip. Great match.
Killer Kowalski d. Hardcore Champion in a Taped Fist Match to win the TITLE! The title train keeps rolling through as the evening’s second title change had Sandman comeback from a big hole only to see Kowalski use a BOMBS AWAY to KO Sandman. The match lived up to expectations.
Tully Blanchard d. Ultimate Champion Lou Thesz in a Best of Three Falls Match but the match had a controversial ending.
Blanchard won fall #1 by DQ as Thesz uncharacteristically lost his cool. Blanchard retaliated with an illegal foreign object passed by Dillon. Some sort of caustic substance was used in Thesz eyes, forcing the referee to DQ. With the match even at 1-1, Tully went to work on Thesz in fall 3. While officials helped Thesz clear the substance enough to continue the match, Blanchard was able to capitalize and pinned Thesz with a SLINGSHOT SUPLEX.
The victory celebration was short as Tully and JJ mocked Thesz and used two piledrivers (one on the title belt) to bloody and injure Thesz. A frustrated Morgan Dollar, grabbed the title belt from the devious duo and claimed suspensions are in order for this heinous act.
Stay tuned on what this means for the Ultimate Championship…
Ivory capped off the night winning the 21-lady Queen of The Hill Battle Royal. The final four were tag-team partners Rockin’ Robin and Princess Victoria along with veteran Beverly Shade. Shade and Vicky went out together, while Ivory used a Northern Lights Suplex to stun Robin before winning the royal!
NOTES: Commissioner Teddy Long was ready to make an announcement regarding the Ultimate Championship but first wanted to assure the fans that the Showdown Challenge Tour will continue. The tour has scheduled stops in Milwaukee, Atlanta, Philadelphia and San Francisco with a big event happening in Chicago. More Details to follow!

BULLETIN: Commissioner Teddy Long stated that what happened between Blanchard and Thesz was despicable as Thesz has a dislocated shoulder and has recovered only 60% of his eyesight. One eye is still completely hazy, with the other facing intermittent problems. No permanent eye damage is anticipated with Thesz taking medication to reduce the infections causing pain and distortion. Thesz also suffered nerve damage in his shoulder/arm from the piledrivers and is not expected to return to action until the later stages of the tour. Long mentioned he must receive medical clearance before allowing a return to the ring. With that said, Tully Blanchard is suspended through the tour as he will miss some big paydays on account of his actions.
With regards to the Ultimate Champion, he stated that Thesz is not the champion since he did lose the match. Blanchard is also not the champion as his status due to suspension will not allow him to defend the title as cannot have him represent the company. Since we have no champion, each city of the tour will hold a 25-man battle royal. Each of the four cities will advance to a mini-playoff tournament in Chicago which will determine a new Ultimate Champion.
The first tour stop is Milwaukee with the battle royal winner representing the North Seed of the knockout tournament in Chicago. Milwaukee also gets a bonus match as a special four-corners tag-team elimination match tops the card: The Road Warriors, Quebecers, Texas Hangmen and The Bushwhackers are the four teams signed to this rumble. Andre The Giant, Crusher, Nick Bockwinkel, Larry Zbyszko, Curt Hennig, Stan Hansen and Hulk Hogan (Dude Brohan) are some of the first names signed for Milwaukee’s leg of the Ultimate Battle Series.
See you in Milwaukee!
