[2087025] GWF Closed Circuit Holo-Vid Wrestling THE DEIMOS DREAM @ HISTORIC DEIMOS OLYMPIC AUDITORIUM - DEIMOS MOON, EARTH
THE DEIMOS DREAM
After a multi-week tour of interstellar space, the GWF returned home to Deimos to celebrate the promotion's 13th anniversary. As has become tradition, the show was held from the historic Deimos Olympic Auditorium, the site of many classic battles during the federation's early years while it was still aligned with UFSP All-Systems and known as the DEIMOS WRESTLING FEDERATION.
The Olympic Auditorium had been under renovation since mid-2086 when it was replaced as the main site for GWF events by the state-of-the art Intergalactic Arena. The extensive renovations to the auditorium were completed first quarter 2087, in time to unveil the new and improved arena to fans at the anniversary show.
The GWF went all out for the event, making it the biggest card in the promotion's 13-year history. The show featured 10 matches with a double main event which showcased a pair of classic matchups that would of been right at home in the DWF during the 2070's.
The top of the card saw Dorado Sundown get the best of Morpheus and Omega in a Dorado Death Match. The Guardians appeared rusty working together again after so many years working as rivals and Blacklash and Bullwhip clearly took advantage of that fact and scored a clean victory in the match. Both Morpheus and Omega were left bloody and disappointed following the defeat.
BEWARE THE CYGNUS CHAINS OF WAR!
The second of the two main events featured fan favorite Commander Sam doing battle with the much hated Mangus Destroyer of Humans in a Cygnus Chains of War Match. As has become customary in matches between these 2 going back more than a decade, the blood flowed freely and there was no shortage of violence.
Sam and Mangus took it to the very limits of good taste in their efforts to destroy one another. Fans were standing all through the final stretch as the two wrestlers traded high spots, which included Sam missing another flying elbow, this time from the top rope to the floor. A very similar miss to the one at Deimos Aces II that forced him to miss several fight cards due to injury. This time however, the miss didn't cost Sam the match and he got a gigantic pop when he kicked out of the pin attempt that followed.

THANTOS BREAKS UP MATCH - TITLE DEFENSE POTENTIALLY SET FOR BATTLEMANIA III
Thantos dirupted the rubber match in Lord Nexus and Star Warrior's Best 2 Out of 3 Falls series by coming down to ringside during the 2nd fall (Lord Nexus was up 1 fall to 0) and attacked both the time keeper and ring announcer. This brought the contest to a complete halt and, with all eyes on him, Thantos got on the mic and cut a scathing promo on not only Nexus and Warrior, but Omega and Morpheus as well.
There was more going on then met the eye and with Nexus and Warrior distracted, Dorado Sundown hit the ring unnoticed from the crowd and Pearl Harbored them right in the center of the ring! It quickly became clear to everyone watching that the Evil Ganemaster had done it again and used the promo as a distraction.
Omega and Morpheus were very quickly out from the back to make the save and Thantos and Dorado Sundown were forced to bail out to the floor. With Thantos and company at ringside, Morpheus got on the mic while. Omega checked on Nexus and Warrior and called out Thantos and challenged him to a 1 on 1 match for the belt at BATTLEMANIA 3!
In response, Thantos gestured obscenely toward Morpheus, causing him to lose his cool and dive out of the ring after Thantos. Dorado Sundown intercepted Morpheus as he hit the floor and mugged him at ringside until Omega rushed out and joined the fight.
With a ringside brawl between Dorado Sundown and The Guardians in full effect, Thantos took the opportunity to exit relatively unnoticed to the back. Security and fed officials did their best to break up the melee.
No word as of yet if Commissioner Keller will sign the match or not, but most with knowledge of the situation expect it to be a done deal and that the signing will be announced in the coming weeks.
WOLF INJURED!
In other news from the card, the Gladiators used their Aethran Elimination tag event as a ploy to get the much reviled Wolf alone in the ring. The Gladiators methodically worked the match, taking great care to make sure Wolf was kept on the apron and out of the action until all of his teammates had been eliminated. The Gladiators' master plan worked without a hitch as Wolf's partners were eliminated one by one until only he remained to face the combined might of The Gladiators and their 'war slave' Red Talon. Comrade Terror had been eliminated earlier by Code Enforcer.
Fans tried to rally Wolf and to his credit, the savage Ani-Man was able to reach down deep and make a couple runs at it, but in the end the odds were just too great and Wolf ended up suffering a pretty monumental beating before he was mercifully pinned by Brute following a pair of DECAPITATORS.
After the match Brute and Massacre held the heroes at bay as Red Talon delivered multiple FLYING HEADHUNTS to Wolf, further adding injult to injury. When they were finished, The Gladiators promised the champs, Wolf and Proteus that they'd be seeing them at Battlemania 3 and that the fun and games were at an end and it was time to get serious.[b
