"Its why I wish Mike's EC set was still available. I consider it official even though technically its not. A lot of really cool Classics-style guys in that set. Tano and Rama are a favorite of mine. Hechilles is awesome as well. Those characters deserve to be rereleased in some form or fashion." I agree with that. It's a shame they are not available anymore. But that seems to be true of a lot of older stuff. I'll note again, though, that the Lost-Found Stars from the old Promoters are pretty cool (and I do not say that just because six of them are characters I designed).  |

Been very busy working a lot of hours and handling family matters, but luckily I'm due some serious time off from work in May, so I'll be able to really dig into the fed as I move into 2nd quarter 2087.
I'm posting this from my phone, so I hope no one minds the lack of formatting for this one.

GWF Wrestling - Earth Tour 2087 finale: DEIMOS ACES II @ NIAGRA TOWER OF LIGHTS - EARTH
Awesome show to officially bring the 2087 edition of the GWF's Earth Tour to a close as well as wrap up the first quarter of 2087. Despite all of the dramatic action that took place on Earth, there weren't any big surprises. The Champions retained their belts, albeit in a pair of really exciting and close contests that saw hot finishes.
The Captains tag main event was the hot draw of the show and managed to live up to expectations even if the result didnt go the way the fans wanted. Blacklash looked spry and in excellent shape and went toe to toe with both Omega and Morpheus on a couple seperate occassions. The big clashes of the match however were between Thantos and either of the Guardians, including a particularly long and very even stretch where Thantos and Morpheus fought to a stale mate. That stretch of match actually received a brief standing ovation from impressed fans at ringside.
The end came when Thantos backed up his spot as Federation champion by pinning Omega in the center of the ring just shy of the 30-minute mark. After the match, Bullwhip came out and along with Blacklash, attacked Omega and Morpheus as Thantos cut a hot promo in the ring. The combination of the mugging taking place at ringside and Thantos' promo lead to many wrestlers flooding out from the back to get involved and had it not been for security and ringside officials, the show would of came to a close with a massive riot inside of the historic Niagra Tower of Lights.
The Gladiators were particularly frustrated after coming up short in their bid to reclaim the tag straps and took that angst out on anyone and everything at ringside following the defeat, completely trashing the ringside area in a mad Aethran rage before cutting a vicious promo on the tag champs, Wolf and Proteus. The Gladiators promised "seering retribution" and that "all debts would be settled one way or another".
The Federation Defense Fighters hero team of Commander Sam and Code Enforcer somehow managed to escape the crowded confines of the Cosmic Cage with a victory over the Cygnus Terrorists Comrade Terror and Mangus Destroyer of Humans.
Fans really got their moneys worth as the blood flowed freely and the violence and action was cranked all the way up to 11. All four men obliterated one other in a desperate bid to top their opponent, culminating in a wild series of events to finish the contest. It began with Sam missing an elbow from the top of the cage on Mangus and being laid out following a Cygnus double team that saw Sam fall victim to Terror's ATOMIC WARHEAD and Mangus' ANNIHILATOR finishes which essentially left Sam a bloody and defeated heap on the canvas and the Code Enforcer in a handicap match against the blood thirsty Cygnas Thrashers.
Code Enforcer suffered a hellish beating at the hands of the Cygnan agitators but somehow managed to perservere, weather the storm, and eventually rally. Code Enforcer brought the house down all the way to the climactic finish where, after coming up just short on several previous pin attempts leading up to it, got the win for the heroes after catching Terror and Mangus with his finish, the CODE CROWBAR.
Commander Sam needed to be tended to by medical personel after the match and was helped to the back.
Star Warrior and Lord Nexus followed up their first 2 out of 3 falls match with a classic that saw the son of Omega, Star Warrior, get off to a rocky start, dropping the opening fall to Nexus rather badly. Star Warrior was able to right the ship and found a way to outwrestle and as a result, top Lord Nexus in the following two falls to win the match 2 falls to 1 in what may go down as a Match of the Year candidate. There is already talk about signing a rubber match between the two budding stars.
The Exo-King made good on his claim and won the special Over the Top Rope tag event for his team by uncerempniously sending Massif over the top rope to the floor following a clothesline. King and Massif put on an exhibition of power wrestling, one upping one another throughout. Grogan and the newcomer, Duke of Destruction almost seemed like afterthoughts in this one, but did get extended stints in the ring.
Prior to the start of the match Mighty Grogan was given time on the mic and officially announced that 2087 would be his last year as a full-time worker as he was retiring from the sport of Pro-Wrestling.
Invincible Krakan once again mugged Pit Viper post match, this time following a victory with the high flying Titan miscalculated and botched a wild Asai moonsault to the floor. Krakan was able to capitalize and gain the easy fall but made sure to add insult to injury by cutting a promo on Viper, Nexus, and even Pulsar while laying in a post match beating which was aided by Genghis Kahn and Mutant who came down to the ring. Finally a mixture of security, ringside officials, and Lord Nexus were able to break up the scene.
Afterwards Nexus called Krakan out and told him that he had his attention and now that he did, he'd focus all of his energies and efforts on putting the CTA-107 war criminal in his place.
-ARENA RESULTS-
Blacklash and Galaxian Champion Thantos(c) defeated Morpheus and Omega of Cetus(c) in a Captain's Tag event when champion Thantos pinned Omega following a Satanic Skullcrusher. (V4)
Galaxian Tag Team Champions Wolf & Proteus survived against The Gladiators to retain the belts when Wolf pinned Brute following a series of brutal chair shots at ringside while the ref was distracted. (V2)
Commander Sam and Code Enforcer outlasted Comrade Terror & Mangus Destroyer of Humans in a bloody and wild Cosmic Cage Match when Code Enforcer pinned Terror following CODE CROWBAR.
Star Warrior beat Lord Nexus 2 falls to 1 in their Best 2 out of 3 falls rematch 2 falls to 1.
Exo King & Duke of Destruction knocked off The Twin-Towers, Massif and Mighty Grogan in an Over the Top Rope Tag Event when Exo-King closelined Massif over the top rope to the floor.
Invincible Krakan escaped against Pit Viper in a Titan Death Match when Krakan pinned Viper following a badly missed an asai moonsault to the floor by the masked Titan.
The Neptunian Space Croppers and the team of Vanity and Killer Queen wrestled to a time limit draw to start the show. Vanity claimed to have pinned Renegade before the time limit expired, but the ref and ringside officials disagreed.

Liking the team of Grogan and Massif. Thanks for reading Troy! Always appreciate the comments. They're natural partners, though probably more suited as a team in pre-2087 GWF even if Massif wasnt officially part of the federation at that point. 2087 will be the only full time year for MassIF and Grogan as THE twin Towers since Grogan will be hanging up the full time boots at the end of the year. I may give them a push towards the tag straps before its all said and done just to see what happens. Could be fun. |
