SLAM at Canton, Ohio
Danny Doring b. Savage-T with a death-jump press.
Brad Armstrong b. Pepper Gomez following two dropkicks.
Tiger Mask b. Danny Hodge, TIGER SUPLEX as Tiger Mask goes to his Houston rematch with plenty of momentum.
SLAM Officials announced the Quarterfinal Brackets for the Mat Master Tournament: Bracket A Steve Williams versus Larry Zbyszko Magnificent Muraco versus Iron Sheik
Bracket B Ravishing Rick Rude versus Dan “The Beast” Severn Angelo Mosca versus Hacksaw Jim Duggan
The remaining matches for the Night Of Champions are
Champion-versus-Champion, Best-of-Three Falls: SLAM Champion Ted Dibiase versus Intercontinental Champion Curt Hennig with only the I-C Title on the line in the first fall and the SLAM Title on the line for the winner of the match in these unusual stipulations. SLAM Officials reasoned that these stipulations were the result of this being a one-time only match and fans will witness a guaranteed historical encounter!
Triple Texas Tornado Tag-Team Title Match: Champions Bruiser Brody and Dallas Page defend against two challengers: The Flying Redheads and The Nick Bockwinkel-Crippler Ray Stevens combination. The challengers will begin the match and if a fall is not captured in 10 minutes then the champions enter the match. The champions will also enter the match if a pin or submission scored before the 10 minute period. Finally, SLAM officials have banned Bobby Heenan from ringside due primarily to actions during the recent matches and his comments regarding SLAM officials as the integrity of the officials will not be constantly questioned due to a wrestlers performance.
Women’s Champion Ida Mae Martinez faces Sensational Sherri and FSW Champion Jushin Liger meets former champion Tiger Mask in two much-anticipated rematches.
SLAM Champion Ted Dibiase and Steve Williams b. The Crusher and Jim Duggan when Duggan chased Williams with a 2x4 as it is a strong possibility these two former footballers could lock horns in the finals of the Mat Master Tournament! Dibiase did not get in the ring as he was nursing wounds with stitches courtesy of the Crusher in their Cleveland match.
Nick Bockwinkel b. Tag-Team Co-holder Bruiser Brody, DQ. Shortest match of the night as Brody did not wait for the bell and wanted to get revenge on Bockwinkel for his part on the attack on Dallas Page last week and maybe give Nick a taste of what behavior he can expect from Brody in that “No-Holds Barred” Triple Texas Tornado match in Houston! Page reportedly had a slight concussion due to the attack, but it may not have much impact by the Night Of Champions.
6-man Tag-Team Main Event: Rick Rude, Bobby Heenan and Ray Stevens b. The Machines. Rude made a huge impact as he rejoins the Heenan Family and in Heenan’s words “replaces that loser Mosca”. Rude pinned Super Machine with a RUDE AWAKENING after an action-packed match that saw the Heenan Family double-team Super and Mean Machine frequently. Giant Machine gave the Family fits and this match did not finish this budding rivalry.
The Night of Champions is next as the Summertime Super card will emanate from Houston’s Astrodome. Nearly 25,000 tickets have been sold for this event and features four title matches including the historic “Champion-vs.-Champion” match featuring Intercontinental Champion Curt Hennig and SLAM Champion Ted Dibiase under Best-of-Three Falls rules. An added bonus of the Mat Master Tournament rounds out an excellent lineup.

===Houston, Texas=== ==Astrodome== ===Night Of Champions=== Over 34,000 fans are ready for this excellent night of action as the National Anthem leads things off with the first matches being the Mat Master Quarterfinals as two ring girls (Houston-area socialites Amber and Brandy) bring the trophy to ringside. Bracket A Steve Williams b. Larry Legend, DQ as Zbyzsko was caught using a pair of brass nux. Magnificent Muraco b. Iron Sheik, HAWAIIAN HAMMER. Muraco meets Dr. Death in the semifinals. Bracket B Rick Rude b. Dan Severn, RUDE AWAKENING. Severn was familiar with the tournament format, but Rude is familiar with rules (and how to break them) of professional wrestling. That penchant along with Bobby Heenan as guidance was a bad combination for Severn. Angelo Mosca b. Jim Duggan, SLEEPER as Mosca gets a grudge match against the Heenan Family and Rick Rude in the semifinals. Sensational Sherri b. Women’s Champion Ida Mae Martinez, DQ as Sherri slipped her own loaded knee pad on Martinez leg. Bad judgment by the referee as Martinez was wearing two different color knee pads! Fighting Spirit Champion Jushin Liger b. Tiger Mask, following a tope suicida and FISHERMAN’S BUSTER to retain the belt in this high-flying match. Mat Master Semifinals: Bracket A Steve Williams b. Magnificent Muraco, DQ after both men brawled on the apron. Williams shoved the referee and the official let it go. Muraco then hauled off and punched the referee in the gut earning a DQ in this tense brawl. Bracket B Rick Rude b. Angelo Mosca, DQ in a grudge match as Mosca lost control hitting Rude, Heenan and then threatening referee with a steel chair. Rude won, but Mosca is out for revenge and will do just about anything to get it! Rick Rude now faces Steve Williams in the Mat Master Finals. Triple Texas Tornado Tag-Team Title Match (Bobby Heenan banned from ringside) : The two challengers begin the match with the Champions Bruiser Brody and Dallas Page entering the match in 10 minutes or after the first fall if one of the challengers captures a fall under 10 minutes. Flying Redheads b. Nick Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens, when Red Lyons used a SLEEPER to beat Bockwinkel just a shade under 10 minutes. Brody and Page rushed the ring and these teams battled in a classic with plenty of near falls for both teams. Page shook off the effects of his concussion and used a DIAMOND CUTTER on Red Bastien to win the match and retain the straps!. Fantastic effort on the remaining two teams. Champion-versus-Champion, Best-of-Three Falls: SLAM Champion Ted Dibiase versus Intercontinental Champion Curt Hennig with only the I-C Title on the line in the first fall and the SLAM Title on the line for the winner of the match. Dibiase won the first fall by DQ as Hennig tried to open Dibiase’s stitches with a slam head-first into a guard rail. The referee stopped the match due to bleeding and awarded the fall to Dibiase for excessive violence. This meant Hennig’s IC-Title was safe and Hennig did not care about the fall as he was looking to capture the SLAM Championship. Dibiase was not easy pickings as he busted Hennig open in retaliation as the second fall went back and forth. A woozy, bloody Dibiase showed plenty of heart as he kicked out of a rolling neck snap and two HENNIG-PLEXES! Dibiase rallied, but Hennig kept his cool and got Dibiase off-balance and scored the fall with two high-risk moves a Missile Drop Kick and Death-Jump Top Rope Body Press. The match was even going into the third fall and for every accolade poured on the tag-team title match, this match was even better! Dibiase and Hennig were both exhausted from the previous falls, but Hennig was in slightly better shape(perhaps from the first fall and perhaps from Dibiase’s previous injuries). Dibiase had more of the fans behind him in this gutsy performance, but Hennig was a shade better in the ring and finally hooked in the HENNIG PLEX for the title win! Hennig celebrated with his father and claimed he was the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion. Who can deny it? Hennig won this Match of the Year Candidate in becoming a double-champion adding fuel to his ever-growing ego. Mat Master Championship Rick Rude b. Steve Williams, Top Rope Kneedrop as Heenan distracted Williams from finishing off Rude and Rude used a suplex to weaken Dr. Death and a knee drop polished him off. Rude’s association with Heenan has paid dividends for both sides as Rude wins the tournament after leading the Family to victory in Canton, Ohio against the machines. Rude is on a roll! Bobby Heenan ran into the ring and said he has a surprise for Rude with his celebration: he introduced the two Houston-area socialites Amber and Brandy to help with the party! Heenan and Rude celebrated with the trophy and Rude walked away with the trophy and a girl on each arm.

Mike Quackenbush beat Adam Pearce with a QUACKENDRIVER III.
Sam Hayne beat Chris Hero with top rope crossbody.
Necro Butcher beat Arik Cannon, TIGER DRIVER after beating up Arik through the ropes while entering the ring.

Mike Quackenbush beat Drake Younger, swanton dive in a good, hard-fought match.
Necro Butcher beat Sam Hayne after needing three TIGER DRIVERS to put away the tough Hayne.
Bonus Matches Naptown Dragons beat Heartbreak Express (with Eddie Fyne), DQ. Phil used an object to KO Lee, but ref pulled out the object and stopped the match. The two teams were signed to rematch in the next SLAM card in Toronto.
Number One Contenders Match: Mat Master winner Rick Rude (with Bobby Heenan) beat former SLAM Champion Ted Dibiase to earn a title shot against SLAM Champion Curt Hennig in New York City!
Triangle Match Final: Delirious -vs- Mike Quackenbush -vs- Necro Butcher.
Quackenbush used a running palm strike to eliminate Necro Butcher.
Delirious won the match with a CHEMICAL IMBALANCE on Quackenbush to win tournament!
SLAM at Toronto, ONT Commissioner Grogan announced that as SLAM heads for its first anniversary of running LWA and PPW shows under the same banner, new responsibilities have cropped up drawing his attention for the future of development and international affairs. In fact, Grogan mentioned that he is acting as interim commissioner and will assume his new position as Vice-President of SLAM Future Development and International Affairs. He will spearhead and negotiate talent exchanges and cooperatives which will broaden SLAM’s horizon throughout the globe. In fact, Grogan says the new commissioner was instrumental in bringing a group of young, talented wrestlers into SLAM, with the first wave in action tonight. Three bouts will feature the new talent: Naptown Dragons battle the Heartbreak Express, Claudio Castignoli faces Necro Butcher in a rematch of New Blood finalists and Delirous will be in singles competition. Finally, Grogan declared his final act as interim commissioner is to guide SLAM and his successor to prepare them both for the new era. He will name his successor in the next SLAM card in New York and the new commissioner's first card to oversee will be the first anniversary card in September! Grogan announced he will step out of the spotlight and let the action begin. Tonight's action features Bruiser Brody and Dallas Page defending the tag-team titles against Larry Legend and The Mountie, in a match triggered by a wild backstage brawl between Zbyszko and Brody where partners and security had to break them apart. Don Muraco tries to eliminate a former SLAM Champion, Ted Dibiase from title contention. A battle of the King Kongs as Bundy and Mosca each select a partner. Mosca claims Bobby Heenan owes him $10,000 and is willing to go through Bundy and his partner Rick Rude to get it. Amazingly, Jim Duggan has offered his services as any enemy of Bobby Heenan is an ally of his! How can Mosca get his money? Finally, Dr. Death faces Nikolai Volkoff as the All-American challenges the Russian strongman!
Missing Link beat Koko B. Ware, BACK FLYING HEADBUTT.
Delirious beat Savage-T after Delirious dodged a corner charge and used a roll-up pin. Delirious has signed onto a title shot with Fighting Spirit Champion Jushin Liger in New York City. Will this "New Blood" make a name for himself in the Big Apple?
Naptown Dragons beat Heartbreak Express (with Eddie Fyne), DQ as Fyne interfered. Could the Heartbreakers be blowing a golden opportunity by dropping two consecutive decisions to the Dragons. These four newcomers have shown plenty of excitement in their matches, and could advance up the tag-team title ladder quickly.
Mike Dibiase beat Danny Hodge, SLEEPER
Claudio Castignoli beat Necro Butcher, DQ. Wild brawl between two newcomers, saw the Necro Butcher get out of control quickly.
Ted Dibiase beat Don Muraco (with Oliver Humperdink), DQ. Humperdink stopped the referee's three count thwarting Muraco's plan to take out the former SLAM Champion. The two have signed for a rematch in New York.
King Kong Mosca and Jim Duggan beat King Kong Bundy and Rick Rude, DQ as Heenan and Bundy double-whipped Duggan into the guardrails to isolate Mosca to exact revenge for embarrassing the family. Duggan chased the Heenan family off before any damage could be dealt, but Mosca and Bundy have signed for a special match in the Empire State (Commissioner Grogan has paid special attention to this feud).
Steve Williams beat Nikolai Volkoff in short order with the Doctor Bomb.
Larry Legend and The Mountie beat Tag-Team Champions Bruiser Brody and Dallas Page to win the titles! Even match, which ended when Larry held Page in a ropes-assisted abdominal stretch. Page finally broke free after several torturous minutes (Mountie even stretched the ropes closer) and a hip toss knocked the referee aside. While the referee gained his bearings, Zbyszko loaded his boot and used a lightning quick spinning back-kick to gain a surprise pin with much chagrin to Brody and the capacity crowd. While the Legend and the Mountie celebrated, Brody and Page cleared the ring of the new champions! Larry and the Mountie declared that "Before a rematch is held he challenges the chumps to a six-man tag-team match in New York. Best-of-three falls where the champions will unveil their new bodyguard so things like the earlier backstage attack and tonight will never happen again. The only thing left is who Brody and Page can find ignorant enough to sign-on for this match"?
SLAM hits the Big Apple next with Mat Master tournament winner Rick Rude challenging SLAM Champion Curt Hennig.
FSW Champion Jushin Liger defends against newcomer Delirious.
Watch this space to see the who if Brody and Page accept the best-of-three falls challenge and what will Commissioner Grogan announce as stipulations for the match between Bundy and Mosca. All that and the entire lineup will be posted!

SLAM at Madison Square Garden Commissioner Grogan announced his resignation as Commissioner and that his replacement assisted in the matchmaking of tonight’s action. The new Commissioner’s first solo card is the upcoming first anniversary card in Baltimore.
Now without further delay, Grogan introduces the new commissioner who holds his same stance on rulebreakers – Charlie Cox! While preparing for the opening match, Bill Apter interviewed Commissioner Cox, but the interview was interrupted by Eddie Fyne, the manager of the Heartbreak Express. Fyne demanded a title shot for his team of newcomers and Cox handled this first crisis with aplomb. Cox explained that there is not a scheduled defense tonight, but guarantees he will address this “oversight” when he arranges the first anniversary show in Baltimore. Fyne seemed satisfied with the explanation, but Cox seemed annoyed. Maybe Fyne should not have pressed the issue on his first day on the job!
Now onto the card featuring two title challenges: SLAM Champion Curt Hennig defends against Mat Master Cup winner Rick Rude and Fighting Spirit Wrestling champion Jushin Liger meets the challenge of Delirious. “King Kongs” Mosca and Bundy vie in a ladder match for Mosca’s contract money owed by Bundy’s manager Bobby Heenan. The match is dubbed the “Empire State” challenge. Two rematches from Toronto highlight the undercard: Don Muraco battles Ted Dibiase and former All-American Steve Williams faces the big Russian, Nikolai Volkoff !
Tiger Mask beat Mike Quackenbush, mask rallied to win with a TIGER SUPLEX after two QUACKENDRIVERS and a missed death jump in this battle of cruiserweights.
April (with JD Micheals) beat Trinity, with a knockdown shoulderblock off the ropes and a Fisherman’s suplex.
Mil Mascaras beat SD Jones, CROSSBODY ATTACK.
FSW Champion Jushin Liger beat Delirious, FISHERMAN’S BUSTER.
Don Muraco beat Ted Dibiase, HAWAIIAN HAMMER. Dibiase was knocked unconscious and had to be carried to the locker room in this rematch from Toronto. Dibiase’s injuries are unknown, but the early prognosis was not promising.
SLAM Champion Curt Hennig (with Larry Hennig) beat Mat Master Cup winner Rick Rude (with Bobby Heenan) Rude took an early advantage and attempted a top rope kneedrop, but Hennig dodged a bullet and promptly rolled up the “Ravishing One” to successfully defend the title.
Steve Williams beat Nikolai Volkoff, OKLAHOMA STAMPEDE. Much like the previous match, Volkoff had the wind knocked out of him and was helped back to the locker room as he could not stand straight. Early reports on the injury seem to be inflicting his ribs. This will impact Volkoff’s SLAM rating.
Missing Link (with Bobby Heenan) beat Hacksaw Duggan, falling head butt. Wild match with both men threatened by DQ from the referee and a no-DQ affair may be more apropos with these two combatants!
A brief intermission brought an update from Charlie Cox. The new commissioner reported to Bill Apter that Ted Dibiase suffered a concussion and will be x-rayed to monitor any possible neck damage. Nikolai Volkoff has two broken ribs from being on the business end of an OKLAHOMA STAMPEDE. Both Dibiase and Volkoff have been ordered to take some time off.
Cox mentioned that he has one last piece of business tonight and in his first act as commissioner makes his first match for the upcoming SLAM 1st Anniversary in Baltimore. Cox will grant Eddie Fyne his wish and offer the Heartbreak Express a tag-team title shot. However, four other challengers will be there that night in a six-pack tag-team challenge match! The Heartbreak Express will join the Naptown Dragons and Hacksaw Jim Duggan and King Kong Mosca. The fourth entrant starting this match are Heenan Family members King Kong Bundy and Missing Link.
Once one of these teams gets eliminated from the match a special mystery team will enter the match, with the second elimination prompting the SLAM Tag-Team Champions Larry Zbyzsko and the Mountie to be the sixth team entered. The last four teams will do battle until one team is left standing!
A second match signed for Baltimore is a special pound-for-pound challenge in a battle of weight classes features SLAM Heavyweight Champion Curt Hennig meeting FSW Champion and cruiserweight Jushin Liger. Other matches will be announced in the coming weeks, but this match will be the focus of the card as Cox makes a big splash with this announcement!
Empire State Match (Ladder Match) King Kong Bundy beat King Kong Mosca, power drop and AVALANCHE to grab the money suspended above the ring. Mosca had Bundy bloodied and KO’d, but Bobby Heenan used smelling salts to wake him! After the giant awoke, Heenan distracted Mosca leading to Bundy taking quick offense and the win!
Six-Man, Best-of-three falls tag-team match: SLAM Team Champions Larry Legend and the Mountie teamed with Bob Orton, jr to beat Superfly Snuka, Bruiser Brody and Diamond Dallas Page. Page used a DIAMOND CUTTER on Orton to win the first fall and Mountie used a SHOCK STICK on Page to even the match. The champions bodyguard Orton, surprised the crowd by working over Snuka and landed a middle rope splash to win the deciding third fall. The Champions had their hands full tonight and are going to need Orton and his tactics if they plan on surviving the upcoming Six-Pack Team Challenge in Baltimore!

SLAM – 1st Anniversary Show at Baltimore….
Big extravaganza on tap tonight as Commissioner Charlie Cox officially takes over the reins of SLAM from former Commissioner and current VP of Future Development and International Affairs Grogan.
Special matches include: SLAM Champion Curt Hennig faces Fighting Spirit Wrestling champion Jushin Liger in a “Pound-for-Pound challenge” between the top two wrestlers in SLAM’s two weight class divisions.
The Tag-Team Championship is on the line in a “Six-Pack” challenge. Four teams start the match: Naptown Dragons, Heartbreak Express (with Eddie Fyne), Hacksaw Duggan with King Kong Mosca and Bobby Heenan’s entry of King Kong Bundy teaming with Missing Link. The match is a four-way tag-team match with the first team eliminated (pin, submission, DQ or count-out) replaced by a “mystery” team. The second elimination will allow the titleholders Larry Legend and the Mountie to enter the fray. The champions have special bodyguard Bob Orton to watch their backs in this historic matchup.
Other matches signed include – “Dr. Death” Steve Williams guns for revenge against Magnificent Muraco. Muraco injured Ted Dibiase in a recent card in New York City. Mat Master Cup winner Rick Rude faces old rival and former tag-team co-holder Diamond Dallas Page. Rude’s manager Bobby Heenan claims Rude will use this as a warm-up on his way to a return match for the World Championship. Finally, in honor of the historic roots of SLAM promoters signed a Hardcore Match between two wrestlers no stranger to the Hardcore style of professional wrestling. The Sheik will brawl with Killer Kowalski!
A ladies match is on tap along with two cruiserweight matches, including former Fighting Spirit Champion Tiger Mask.
The first event of the card begins with an in-ring ceremony as the Baltimore mayor presents SLAM officials with the key to the city. The mayor thanks Charlie Cox, Grogan and all the wrestlers for being a boon to the civic success of the city and SLAM is always welcome in Baltimore. Bill Apter interviewed the mayor along with the former and current commissioners to close the ceremony. However, Eddie Fyne interrupted Apter’s interview with Cox and claimed the new commissioner has shown prejudice against his team. Fyne claims his Heartbreakers deserve a solo shot and not some “mishmash” thrown together match. Cox tried to defuse the situation by deflecting the focus back to the event, but Fyne got physical instead. Fyne punched Cox, pushed Apter and scurried back to the dressing room in an unusual turn of events. Cox asked Apter to end the segment and he promises to make comment on this situation….
April Hunter (with JD Micheals) beat Sherri Martel (with Curt Hennig). Sherri announced SLAM Champion Curt Hennig as her special advisor and training partner as it “Takes a champion, to know a champion”. Hunter controlled the match due to her size and Sherri seemed to rely to much on Hennig’s presence and never got on track. April hit the spinning backbreaker for the pin and her and JD celebrated their second consecutive victory.
Mike Quackenbush beat Delirous, QUACKENDRIVER III in the first of two cruiserweight contests.
Necro Butcher beat Claudio Castignoli, TIGER DRIVER after things got out of hand outside the ring.
Hardcore Challenge: Killer Kowalski beat the Sheik. Kowalski used a backbreaker as a bloody, choked and car-smashed Killer pinned the Syrian menace in a wild brawl that reached the wrestler’s parking area.
Tiger Mask beat Iron Mike Dibiase in the second match of the cruiserweight doubleheader. Mask rallied with a stun gun off the ropes and hit the TIGER SUPLEX to get the nod in this closely fought battle.
Commissioner Charlie Cox made an announcement before the “Six-Pack Tag-Team Title Match”. Cox announced that due to Fyne instigating the incident during the opening ceremony he will be suspended from managing and will need to win three matches in a row to be reinstated. Cox announced that Fyne’s first opponent will be Naptown Dragon rival Scott Vorteks at the next SLAM card. Furthermore, Fyne will be banned from the building tonight to prevent any idea of interference or chicanery. Cox stated he will use this as an example for all SLAM competitors that physical confrontations must be kept between wrestlers and not officials, media members or public citizens! Let the Six-Pack get underway….
The second elimination will allow the titleholders Larry Legend and the Mountie to enter the match.
King Kong Mosca upset King Kong Bundy with the SLEEPER. A miscommunication resulted in Missing Link head butting Bundy leading to the finish. Heenan was irate and stormed off to the back…
The mystery team was then introduced over the PA, some familiar music played and then a familiar voice proclaimed that “If any team left thinks they have a shot at the belts, their a#% better call somebody.” The James Gang, BG and Kip cleaned house came in a house afire, but Mosca rallied with some roughhouse tactics. Mosca became two overzealous and the referee called for the DQ eliminating him and Duggan from the match.
The Champions were the final entry, and Larry Legend was reluctant to enter. The James Gang did not mind facing the Mountie and made short work with a BG PUMP HANDLE SLAM to eliminate the champions! Tonight, we are guaranteed to crown new tag-team champions of the world!
The fourth elimination featured Naptown Dragon Scotty Lee pinning Phil Davis with a Dragon uppercut. The Dragons were very impressive during the match and their hard work paid off beating the Heartbreak Express. The Express looked out of synch without their manager Eddie Fyne.
The final elimination saw the PUMP HANDLE SLAM come into play again as BG James pinned Scotty Lee to win the match and the titles. Very exciting and grueling match saw the James Gang capture their first tag-team title under the SLAM banner. BG wound up the segment asking Baltimore to “say hello to the brand new tag-team champions of the WOOOORLD, the James Gang!” Fun match and definite match of the year candidate.
The Pound-for-Pound Challenge featuring SLAM Champion Curt Hennig (with special advisor Sherri Martel) toppling Fighting Spirit Champion Jushin Liger, DQ. Hennig roughed up the smaller Liger outside the ring and behind the referee’s back, specifically using Liger’s own title belt on the small of the back especially . Frustrated, Liger grabbed the belt and returned the favor but in full view of the referee. This forced the stoppage and ended a highly-anticipated encounter. Will or should there be a rematch?
“Dr. Death” Steve Williams beat Magnificent Muraco (with Oliver Humperdink), OKLAHOMA STAMPEDE. Williams won a few battles when the action spilled out to the floor and gained a small measure of revenge for his fallen partner Ted Dibiase.
Commissioner Cox announced a special Round-Robin Series. This competition will feature three wrestlers in three matches facing each other. Four series have been scheduled and the kickoff will be the next SLAM card emanating from Boston! The combatants will be announced soon and SLAM officials signed a Muraco-Williams rematch under Hardcore rules. The Main Event will be the SLAM Champion Curt Hennig versus Fighting Spirit Wrestling champion Jushin Liger in a “Pound-for-Pound rematch” between the top two wrestlers in SLAM’s two weight class divisions.
Diamond Dallas Page beat Mat Master Cup Champion Rick Rude (with Bobby Heenan) using two DIAMOND CUTTERS. Page hit the first CUTTER after reversing a piledriver from his rival in the pre-slam days. Rude and Page battled over the Power Pro Wrestling championship before signing with SLAM. Good match to close the card…
Stay tuned as SLAM hit Beantown for an excellent lineup featuring the Pound-For-Pound Rematch, Eddie Fyne’s in-ring debut, a Hardcore Match and a Round-Robin Series I all on the card. Commissioner Cox promised an updating ranking for the contender’s ladder on all recognized SLAM titles and the first three competitors of the round-robin series!

Ally Match: Phil Davis (with Sean Davis) b. Dustin Lee (with Scotty Vortekz) , DQ. Wild double-brawl ended with all four men in the ring. The referee only caught Vortekz and gave the decision to Davis.
Round-Robin Series II – 3rd leg: Ted Dibiase b. Rick Rude, when Dibiase moved away from a turnbuckle charge by Rude. Commissioner Charlie Cox forced the seconds for this match: Dr. Death Steve Williams and Bobby Heenan to the locker room or that both men would risk a 3-card suspension. Cox reasoned that too many DQ finishes tonight and wanted to ensure a clean finish to this decisive contest. Excellent action en route to a Dibiase victory.
Elimination mixed tag-team match to determine stipulations for November Pain: SLAM Champion Curt Hennig and Sherri Martel b. FSW Champion Jushin Liger and Ladies Champion Ida Mae. Curt captured the first fall with a HENNIG PLEX on Liger, but Ida Mae rallied with several dropkicks to beat Sherri in fall two. The final fall was up and down between Ida Mae and Sherri, but Hennig had to get involved in the outcome in this high-stakes event. After a near fall on Sherri, Ida Mae took an elbow drop from Curt Hennig leading to a decisive pinfall. Hennig announced that the November Pain main event will be a Best-of-three falls contest “To-A-Finish”, no stopping for blood and one man will walk away as the best Pound-for-Pound wrestler in SLAM.
Steel Cage Match: Angelo Mosca b. King Kong Bundy, SLEEPER in a bloody cage match that saw Mosca survive an AVALANCHE. This feud is still sizzling.
