Hello and welcome to my first attempt to join the GWF, or Champions of the Galaxy, side of things. Some of you might know me for my legends fed, LOW - Legends of Wrestling, and while that will always be my main fed I have really wanted to get into COTG.
Over the years I have acquired COTG cards both black and white and color through various orders along with having the color 2087 intro set and Tournament of Champions commemorative starter set. The cards always intrigued me but being so busy with my legends fed I just never got anything going. Once I got the tournament starter set I began rolling out matches league style and had an idea to base a fed off of that but nothing come of it. Then over the past few weeks I finally settled on going back to the beginning, 2087, and just running a fed from the start. Yeah I know the odds of me ever reaching current day are slim to none, though I may purchase some of those recent sets just to have them.
My goal isn't really to catch up but just to have fun and go from 2087 to 2088 and on and on as more sets are converted to color. I just think it will be a lot of fun for me to experience this side of the greatest game in the galaxy. I will be posting my first card next under the name Project 68: The GWF, with the 68 just being a play on my profile name. I hope you will enjoy this trip with me and my plan is to post about one card per week. Now onto the action...

(2087) Prologue:
The very foundations of the GWF were shaken in 2087 when Thantos betrayed the Galaxian Code destroying the trust that had been established in the promotion founded by Omega of Cetus. Star Warrior, the son of Omega, took up the fight for his legendary father establishing the Federation Defense Fighters to go up against Thantos and his rogues gallery of Galaxian Villains. Thantos, the GWF Heavyweight champion at the time, was subsequently stripped of the championship by a Galaxian Commission in order to breathe new life into the championship history of the federation.
It was established that tournaments would decide new champions in both the singles and tag team divisions taking place in Deimos on cards number ten and number twelve, respectively. This would help establish a new order in the GWF and send a message to Thantos that while his actions were effective they would not be tolerated. He would have to fight to reclaim the gold and the power that he so desperately craves.
Deimos, a moon of Mars, has been established as the home base of the GWF and cards will be presented there for the foreseeable future. The Galaxian Commission, however, is exploring other locations in the universe in which to hold events. It was also decided to have a twenty-five event season which would provide plenty of ring time for the wrestlers as the GWF looks to grow into the future. For now, though, the focus is on crowning new champions and the talented roster of twenty-six Galaxian stars, including newcomers Duke of Destruction and Red Talon, will be looking to claim spots in the tournaments. As they say let the battle begin…
Galaxian Wrestling Federation - 2087 - Deimos - Card #1
1) 4-Man Universal Battle Royal: Exo-King eliminated Massif to win
Order of Elimination:
* Killer Queen (By Exo-King) * Beast-Rider (By Massif) * Massif (By Exo-King)
* The opening contest was a special 4-Man Universal Battle Royal featuring Massif, Beast-Rider, Exo-King and the flamboyant Killer Queen. With only a limited number of wrestlers in the ring it made for an intense showdown with the over-the-top rope elimination rules. Killer Queen surprised with a good showing against Exo-King but was tossed over the top after a Skullcrusher. Massif eliminated Beast-Rider moments later, and that set up a grudge showdown with Exo-King, a part of the half-robot Evil Ones faction. Exo-King, who was brought to the GWF by Thantos specifically to target Massif, caught Massif in the Death Vise and dumped him over the top rope to claim the victory.
2) Vanity (Neptune) defeated Omega (Cetus)
* This one-on-one contest between the “Ladies Champion” Vanity and Omega, the godfather of the GWF, ended in surprise fashion. Omega controlled much of the action, including scoring a near fall with the Tomahawk Thrust. The finish saw Omega with a whip into the ropes but Vanity caught him with a Counter Sunset Flip for the pin. It was a flash win for Vanity who celebrated with his beautiful female accomplices at ringside.
3) Death Knight (Altair) defeated Renegade (Neptune)
* This match between Renegade and Death Knight almost went the distance but ironically almost ended in the opening moments with Knight hitting a counter lariat out of the corner for a near fall. Both men brought it in what was a brutal, hard fought bout. The fatigue built up as it neared a time limit draw but Death Knight, after using a loaded glove for a near fall, nailed Renegade with the Cosmic Lance to score the pin.
4) Wolf (Andromeda 13) defeated Executioner (France, Earth) by Count Out
* The bloody rivalry established between the feared Wolf and the Executioner, the Medieval Headsman, took center stage in a brutal battle. The Executioner managed to survive the Savage Face Claw and Wolf likewise kicked out after being hit with the Headsman Guillotine. The two fought as much outside the ring as they did inside, both narrowly avoiding a disqualification. The finish saw Wolf claim a technical decision via count out after a running clothesline sent the Executioner over the top rope sending him into and over the guard rail.
5) Flying Titans (Lord Nexus, Pulsar & Pit Viper) vs. Society of Death (Invincible Kraken, Mutant & Ghengis Khan) was a DDQ
* It probably doesn’t come as much of a surprise that a battle between the Flying Titans of Lord Nexus, Pulsar & Pit Viper and the Society of Death of Invincible Kraken, Mutant & Ghengis Khan ended in a wild brawl. What happened bell-to-bell was outstanding, though, as both teams came close to victory with some finishers being hit. The end came when Kraken hit a top rope clothesline on Nexus but that pin was broken up by the Titans. That set off a wild brawl between all six-men and the referee was unable to break it up resulting in a double disqualification decision.
6) Cosmic Cage Match: Comrade Terror (Cygnus) defeated Commander Sam (USA, Earth)
* This special Cosmic Cage Match between Commander Sam and Comrade Terror exemplified the bloody rivalry that has existed between the two. Comrade Terror, the right hand man of former GWF Heavyweight champion Thantos, is out to rid Commander Sam from the GWF and the Cosmic Cage seemed like the perfect place to do it. This one was not pretty and featured both men having dominant runs. In the end it was Comrade Terror who claimed the win by escaping the cage snake eyes style after using the Comrade Neck Clutch. It was a tough loss for Sam but became even tougher post-match as Thantos showed up and joined Comrade Terror in a brutal double-team assault inside the locked cage. Sam ended up a bloody mess but was not going to take it as he challenged Thantos to face him on the next card in Deimos, a challenge “The Evil Gamemaster” eagerly accepted.
7) Gladiators of Aethra (Brute & Massacre) defeated The Greek Gods (Actagon & Proteus)
* This highly anticipated bout between two of the best tag teams in the galaxy saw The Greek Gods, Actagon & Proteus, go up against the Gladiators of Aethra, Brute & Massacre. With the vacant GWF tag team titles still to be decided this was an important match in terms of momentum heading into the tournament. Both teams were on point in this one which was a tale of two matches. The Greek Gods dominated early while the Gladiators dominated late. It could have gone either way but Massacre, after scoring a near fall with the Massacre Slam, leveled Proteus with the Gladiator Piledriver to score the pin.
8) Thantos (Maffei II) defeated Star Warrior (Cetus)
* The huge one-on-one main event pitting Star Warrior against his arch-rival Thantos was one for the ages. Both men were at their best engaging in a battle that had the universal assemblage of spectators on edge wondering who would come away with the win. A controversial moment saw Thantos trap Star Warrior in the Masterlock, his devasting variation of the figure four leglock, but Commander Sam, his head bandaged from the earlier Cosmic Cage Match attack by Thantos and Comrade Terror, interfered. Thantos lost his grip and the referee took exception ejecting Sam from ringside.
The battle continued and Star Warrior made a great comeback picking up a big near fall after a forearm hammer. Thantos managed to claw back into it and, as they battled outside, he dropped Star Warrior knee first on a table. That led to Thantos getting the Masterlock back on and this time a game Star Warrior was forced to concede or risk injury. Thantos won it via submission and afterward proclaimed himself the “most dominant force” in the GWF.

Thanks for the comments Stu, Crimson, Troy and noneck. Love the avatar, noneck, that game was awesome! I'm having a blast getting this GWF fed started and finally learning more about all of these great characters. I feel like I know them already but I'm sure I have a lot to learn as I go from year to year. I hope you will continue on this journey with me and that you will enjoy the action on the upcoming card number two...

Galaxian Wrestling Federation - 2087 - Deimos - Card #2
1) Executioner (France, Earth) defeated Omega (Cetus)
* The legendary and popular Omega took on the dreaded Executioner in the opening bout. The veteran Omega showed the fire he was noted for in his prime, including twice kicking out of the Headsman Guillotine. Executioner was frustrated and he used an illegal foreign object followed by a third Headsman Guillotine to score the pin.
2) The Greek Gods (Actagon & Proteus) defeated Killer Queen & Vanity
* Feature tag team action saw The Greek Gods, Actagon & Proteus, face the colorful duo of Killer Queen & Vanity. This was an amazing bout that saw both teams pick up near falls amidst plenty of timely tags and pin saves. The finish saw Proteus trap Vanity in the Grecian Sleeper Grip, the favored finisher of Actagon, for a submission win.
3) Wolf (Andromeda 13) defeated Death Knight (Altair)
* This was a frantically paced bout that was over fairly quickly. The brawling started early on and that was right up Wolf’s alley as he took the fight to the methodical Death Knight. A member of the half-robot Evil Ones faction, Death Knight had trouble handling Wolf who in the end dominated him and hit the Wolf Skullcrusher for the pin.
4) Exo-King (Altair) defeated Massif (Ceres)
* A titanic grudge match featuring two of the tallest men in the GWF saw Massif of the FDF take on Exo-King of The Evil Ones. This was a powerhouse battle from the start featuring high impact moves and even a ref bump who was taken down on a deathjump by Exo-King. Massif had his moments but Exo-King took the lead late ending an offensive barrage with a Flying Body Crusher for the pin.
5) Society of Death (Invincible Kraken, Mutant & Ghengis Khan) defeated Flying Titans (Lord Nexus, Pulsar & Pit Viper)
* Another grudge six-man tag team match between the popular Flying Titans and the villainous Society of Death saw both teams going all out to attain victory. The action was fast and furious throughout, and particularly intense when Lord Nexus and Invincible Kraken squared off. It was Mutant who factored into the victory when he used an Illegal Choke Hold on Nexus and covered him for a controversial pin. Both sides continued fighting post-match forcing the Galaxian Commission to order security to the ring to break it up.
6) Gladiators of Aethra (Brute & Massacre) defeated Neptunian Space-Croppers (Beast-Rider & Renegade) by Count Out
* Exciting tag team action pitted the Neptunian Space-Croppers, Beast-Rider & Renegade, against the Gladiators of Aethra, Brute & Massacre. This didn’t last too long but the universal fan base got their money’s worth witnessing some stiff back-and-forth exchanges. It ended up on the outside where Brute nailed Beast-Rider with a Decapitator against the guard rail and then beat the count back into the ring snake eyes style. The Gladiators won it by count out keeping their thus far undefeated record intact.
7) Star Warrior (Cetus) defeated Comrade Terror (Cygnus)
* The popular Star Warrior, head of the Federation Defense Fighters, had his hands full taking on the vicious Comrade Terror. The early action was dominated by Terror who used his Comrade Neck Clutch among other key moves. The finish came out of nowhere with Star Warrior, after winning a battle outside, delivering a Cross Body Block to score a snake eyes pin. Comrade Terror had no chance to recover as Commander Sam rushed in and was joined by Star Warrior in a double-team attack. Comrade Terror bailed out of the ring and angrily challenged Sam to a rematch inside the Cosmic Cage. Sam eagerly accepted that and then waited in the ring for his main event opponent…
8) Commander Sam (USA, Earth) vs. Thantos (Maffei II) was a Draw
* This was a main event that became one for the ages as Commander Sam took on Thantos. A war of attrition would be the best way to describe it as both men picked up a number of near falls and both had spilled blood by the time it was over. Sam nearly put Thantos away with Sam’s Atomic Drop and also managed to avoid the dreaded Masterlock. Sam was perhaps overly aggressive allowing Thantos to gain the upper hand several times. They also battled out to the floor trading chair shots which fortunately avoided a disqualification call by the referee. A running slingshot by Sam in the closing moments resulted in a big near fall. Moments later the bell sounded and the match was ruled a draw by the referee putting an end to a great struggle between the two men.

Really like the approach you're taking for this foray into the COTG universe, my friend... PHENOMENAL! Thanks my friend. I'm happy you are aboard for the ride. As you know I have long thought about doing a COTG fed I just wasn't sure how I wanted to handle it. I'm happy I decided to just go from the beginning so I can really enjoy seeing these characters evolve along with new ones arriving.
