WWL Spring 91
Week 7
Frankfurt Knights (3-3) @ Glasgow Rangers (1-5)
(O) Splatter (G) beat Wolf (F) with Meet Arsenal. Time: 2:55 Fatigue: Wolf-2 (MC) Bishop Hell (F) beat Incredible Badger (G) with Hellfire. Time: 5:34 Fatigue: Bishop Hell-1 (ME) Bloodline (G) beat Matador of M83 (F) with Cosmic Big Bang. Time: 5:37 Fatigue: Matador-1, Bloodline-1
Winner: Glasgow 2-1
Injuries: None
NOTES: With Vengeance sitting out due to a suspension Splatter made his season debut for Glasgow in the Opening match and Incredible Badger moved up to the Mid-Card. --- Splatter used Blood Bath and back-to-back Meet Arsenal to put Wolf away. Wolf just shook his head as he left the ring after yet another defeat --- Badger loss kept him winless this season --- Bloodline however keeps winning
Chicago Muscle (3-3) @ Los Angeles Stars (2-4)
(O) Battering Ram (LA) beat Stalker (C) with Battering Ram. Time: 12:01 Fatigue: Stalker-3, Battering Ram-4 (MC) Massif (C) beat Dreadnaught (LA) via DQ. Time: 2:22 Fatigue: none (ME) Thantos (LA) beat Bounty Hunter (C) with Masterlock. Time: 5:18 Fatigue: Thantos-1
Winner: Los Angeles 2-1
Injuries: Battering Ram has a light injury. He can wrestle but will be hobbled next week.
NOTES: Battering Ram got LA off to a good start --- Then Dreadnaught blew the chance to secure the game win with his first DQ of the season --- The home fans were on edge for the Main Event. Thantos used to be a sure thing but he lost back-to-back matches. He would not make it three straight as he secured the win with his finisher, keeping LA's playoff hopes alive
Barcelona Conquistadors (1-5) @ Paris Legion (5-1)
(O) Antimatter (B) beat Skinhead (P) with Negative Charge. Time: 3:49 Fatigue: Skinhead-1 (MC) Massacre (P) beat U.S. Patriot (B) with The Cleansing. Time: 7:42 Fatigue: US Patriot-1, Massacre-2 (ME) Mayhem (P) beat Pegasus (B) with Danger Zone. Time: 2:36 Fatigue: none
Winner: Paris 2-1
Injuries: None
NOTES: In the Opening match Antimatter used Negative Charge a couple times to get the win and hand Skinhead his 2nd straight loss --- U.S. Patriot tried to secure an early win with Adam's Atomic Blast and Freedom Flyer but only got 2 counts after each move. He held strong but lost to a guy who is undefeated this season --- Mayhem made short work of Pegasus and beat him with Danger Zone (snake eyes) to keep Paris on top of the European Conference
Las Vegas Aces (2-4) @ New York Titans (3-3)
(O) Quasar (LV) beat Comrade Terror (NY) with High Roller. Time: 19:32 Fatigue: Quasar-2, Comrade Terror-3 (MC) Dragonmaster (NY) beat Soldier of Fortune (LV) with Cobra Nerve Stopper. Time: 2:41 Fatigue: none (ME) Galactic Punisher (NY) beat Exo-King (LV) with pin after turnbuckle crash. Time: 1:59 Fatigue: none
Winner: New York 2-1
Injuries: Comrade has a very serious injury. He avoided the IR but is questionable for next week.
NOTES: Quasar came out on top of a long battle with Comrade Terror to get Vegas off to a good start. Things went south from there. --- Soldier of Fortune battles some injuries and could not battle Dragonmaster going down fairly quickly --- Exo-King went down even quicker as he rushed the corner and speared the ring post instead of Galactic Punisher --- Las Vegas have not been eliminated from the playoff hunt but their chances are on life support
London Red Coats (3-3) @ Rome Empire (5-1)
(O) Vigilante (R) over Lance At-Las (L) with Hit Man's Clothesline. Time: 3:56 Fatigue: none (MC) Spike (R) beat Prodigy (L) with Megadestroyer. Time: 3:35 Fatigue: Prodigy-3 (ME) Raven (R) beat Star Warrior (L) with Bladerunner. Time: 6:15 Fatigue: Star Warrior-2 Raven-1
Winner: Rome 3-0
Injuries: Prodigy has a mild injury and is questionable next week.
NOTES: Vigilante, coming back from his one game suspension, and Spike made short work of their competition. Vigilante nailed a Hit Man's Clothesline and Lance hit his head hard on the mat before the pin (snake eyes). Then Spike took the fight to Prodigy before using his finisher to get the win. --- Raven went up against a game Star Warrior and refused to lose. At the end of the match, he hit a Blade Runner then tossed Star Warrior out of the ring and waited for his return. He greeted Warrior with an ax handle off the top rope and then Blade Runner two more times before finally getting the win - The sweep by Rome gets them ever so closer to Paris --- With the win by Rome, Barcelona and Glasgow are officially eliminated from the playoff picture. London and Frankfurt are barely hanging on
Highlight Game of the Week.
Mexico City Fire (3-3) @ Toronto Juggernauts (5-1)
(O) Whiplash (MC) beat Dreggs (T) after a failed sunset flip. Time: 3:34 Fatigue: Dreggs-2 (MC) Janus (T) beat Actagon (MC) with Gordian Knot. Time: 1:42 Fatigue: Actagon-1 (ME) Iron Mane (T) beat Chaos (MC) with Final Pounce. Time: 4:15 Fatigue: none
Winner: Toronto 2-1
Injuries: None
NOTES: After Whiplash beat a winded Dreggs Paris went to work to get the win --- Janus saw Actagon was slightly injured and took advantage of it for a quick victory --- For the second time this season Iron Mane beat Chaos to pad his resume --- Toronto looks strong this year without a so called "superstar" on the roster. Plus, in the Spring 92 draft they currently will have two 1st round draft picks. Could this be the team that finally forms a dynasty in WWL?
North American Conference Record (match results)
Toronto Juggernauts 6-1 (12-9) New York Titans 4-3 (12-9) Chicago Muscle 3-4 (11-10) Los Angeles Stars 3-4 (10-11) Mexico City Fire 3-4 (9-12) Las Vegas Aces 2-5 (9-12)

WWL Spring 91
Week 8
Las Vegas Aces (2-5) @ Chicago Muscle (3-4)
(O) Quasar (LV) beat Cannibal (C) with High Roller. Time: 8:28 Fatigue: none (MC) Massif (C) beat Soldier of Fortune (LV) with Volcanic Drop. Time: 2:09 Fatigue: Soldier of Fortune-1 (ME) Bounty Hunter (C) beat Exo-King (LV) with Ambush. Time: 4:43 Fatigue: Exo-King-1
Winner: Chicago 2-1
Injuries: None
NOTES: Chicago decided to sit Stalker as they go back to the man of last season, Cannibal in the Opening round. It did not help --- Soldier of Fortune was still dealing with an injury that might have slowed him down --- Las Vegas was all but eliminated from the playoff hunt with the loss --- Vegas will have to resign Quasar because if not he will be a sough after free agent in the off season
Barcelona Conquistadors (1-6) @ London Red Coats (3-4)
(O) Antimatter (B) beat Prodigy (L) with Fusion Fist. Time: 10:41 Fatigue: Antimatter-1, Prodigy-2 (MC) Lance At-Las (L) beat U.S. Patriot (B) with Martian Manhandler. Time: 5:37 Fatigue: U.S. Patriot-2 (ME) Star Warrior (L) beat Pegasus (B) with Cosmic Big Bang. Time: 1:04 Fatigue: Pegasus-1
Winner: London 2-1
Injuries: None
NOTES: A couple teams not going to the post-season trying to figure out what they will do next season --- Prodigy was injured again going into his match. He was lucky to avoid any further injury --- Star Warrior made short work of Pegaus to get London the win
New York Titans (4-3) @ Mexico City Fire (3-4)
(O) Whiplash (MC) beat Fury (NY) with Thumbscrew. Time: 9:38 Fatigue: Fury-1, Whiplash-1 (MC) Actagon (MC) beat Dragonmaster (NY) with Grecian Sleeper Grip. Time: 2:16 Fatigue: none (ME) Chaos (MC) beat Galactic Punisher (NY) with Bow Of Defeat. Time: 1:07 Fatigue: Galactic Punisher-3
Winner: Mexico City 3-0
Injuries: None
NOTES: New York sat Comrade Terror in the Opening match due to his injuries. Whiplash took advantage of Fury's inexperience and got the home team off and running --- Dragonmaster must have had a late night because soon as Actagon put him in the Sleeper he went out. Just like that Mexico City had the win --- The fans were happy and brought out Chaos to the usual chant. He rewarded them by dominating Galactic Punisher in a short match. He put Punisher in Bow Of Defeat a pair of times then hit a piledriver. For some reason he decided to try a deathjump but Punisher recovered and ran up to meet him. They fought and Chaos pushed Punisher down to the mat. Then Chaos went to the tried and true and slapped on Bow Of Defeat a couple more times to get the win and the sweep for the Fire --- Huge setback for New York who are trying to return to the playoffs to defend the WWL Cup win from last season
Rome Empire (6-1) @ Glasgow Rangers (2-5)
(O) Splatter (G) beat Vigilante (R) with Meet Arsenal. Time: 2:32 Fatigue: none (MC) Spike (R) beat Vengeance (G) with Megadestroyer. Time: 24:53 Fatigue: Spike-2, Vengeance-3 (ME) Raven (R) beat Bloodline (G) with Broadsword. Time: 2:07 Fatigue: Bloodline-2
Winner: Rome 2-1
Injuries: Vengeance has a mild injury.
NOTES: Splatter says hot since being put in the Opening round mid-season --- After that Rome went to work --- Spike and Vengeance battled for almost 25 minutes with Spike finally getting the win to tie the game up --- Raven made surprisingly short work of Bloodline. He tossed him out of the ring then hit a suicide dive thru the ropes. He got in the ring and waited on Bloodline. Once Bloodline got back in the ring Raven hit back-to-back Broadsword to pick up the win --- It was Bloodline's first loss of the season --- Rome clinched a playoff spot but they want to win the top seed --- In the post-game interview Raven said Rome is a true team. When he was down early in the season Spike and Vigilante got the wins to help the team. Now, he is finally winning and helping the team keep on winning. He says they are going to win the WWL Cup this year. Not a guarantee, just a fact
Toronto Juggernauts (6-1) @ Los Angeles Stars (3-4)
(O) Dreggs (T) beat Killing Machine (LA) via DQ. Time: 7:40 Fatigue: Killing Machine-2 (MC) Janus (T) beat Dreadnaught (LA) with Gordian Knot. Time: 6:53 Fatigue: Dreadnaught-1 (ME) Thantos (LA) beat Iron Mane (T) with Masterlock. Time: 7:32 Fatigue: Iron Mane-2
Winner: Toronto 2-1
Injuries: None
NOTES: Los Angeles sat Battering Ram as he is dealing with some injuries. Killing Machine was being handled by Dreggs so he left the ring. When Dreggs came out they ended up brawling and Machine grabbed and used a a chair. This was his MML debut so this was of course his first DQ of the season --- After Janus got the win in the Mid-Card, Toronto had the game win --- Thantos made sure they were not swept --- With the win, Toronto clinched the regular season Conference title. They will be home for the North American Conference Championship playoff game --- Post-game Thantos said there was nothing wrong with Dreadnaught losing as Janus is a refined wrestler. Thantos says he hopes to test himself against Janus one day so they can see who has the better submission hold, the Masterlock of the Gordian Knot
Highlight Game of the Week.
Paris Legion (6-1) @ Frankfurt Knights (3-4)
(O) Justice (P) beat Wolf (F) via DQ. Time: 2:49 Fatigue: none (MC) Bishop Hell (F) beat Massacre (P) with Hellfire. Time: 21:44 Fatigue: Massacre-4, Bishop Hell-2 (ME) Matador of M83 (F) beat Mayhem (P) with Bullwhip. Time: 5:00 Fatigue: Mayhem-2
Winner: Frankfurt 2-1
Injuries: None
NOTES: Justice made his return to the Paris lineup after Skinhead had lost a couple matches. He got the win even if not impressive. Wolf had control and hit a running clothesline. Justice rolled out of the ring and Wolf went after him. Wolf went too far and got the DQ. That is his third of the season. He just got back from suspension and if he gets one more, he will be suspended for two games which would carry over to the playoffs or next season if need be --- The Mid-Card was an instant classic. Massacre performed The Cleansing but it was too early in the match and Hell kicked out. There was a long stretch where neither man tried a pin or submission. Then Bishop Hell hit Hellfire and after Massacre kicked out Hell hit a Flying Cross that got a two count. A couple minutes later Hell used a face rake and pin attempt to set up for a second Hell Fire and the pin. It was Massacre's first loss on the season --- Matador of M83 came out and took care of business to get the match win and the game win for Frankfurt. That knocks Paris out of first and into second but more so it keeps the playoff hopes of Frankfurt, and London, alive. --- Post-game Wolf talked about having to get his head right. He said if they had lost today, he would have taken the rest of the season off to get right. But with the playoffs still in the picture he will suck it up and find a way to get back to winning
North American Conference Record (match results)
Toronto Juggernauts 7-1 (14-10) x Chicago Muscle 4-4 (13-11) New York Titans 4-4 (12-12) Mexico City Fire 4-4 (12-12) Los Angeles Stars 3-5 (11-13) Las Vegas Aces 2-6 (10-14)

WWL Spring 91
Week 9
London Red Coats (4-4) @ Frankfurt Knights (4-4)
(O) Pulsar Prime (L) beat Wolf (F) with Solar Strain. Time: 9:26 Fatigue: Pulsar Prime-2, Wolf-2 (MC) Bishop Hell (F) beat Lance At-Las (L) with Bishop Blast. Time: 24:43 Fatigue: Lance At-Las-4, Bishop Hell-1 (ME) Star Warrior (L) beat Matador of M83 (F) with Cosmic Big Bang. Time: 8:57 Fatigue: Star Warrior-3, Matador-1
Winner: London 2-1
Injuries: Lance At-Las sustained a light injury but should be ok to wrestle. Star Warrior has a mild injury but also should be ok.
NOTES: It was announced before the game that London has shut Prodigy down for the rest of the season to let his injuries heal properly. --- Pulsar Prime pulled a slight upset in the Opening match. Slight in the fact that Wolf has been having a horrible season. He is now 1-7 on the season with one week he sat out due to suspension --- Bishop Hell picked up the victory without attempting Hellfire. Which is impressive considering the match went almost 25 minutes --- A face rack and Flying Cross almost got him the win early on as most of the pin attempts were in the first half of the match --- In the Main Event Star Warrior hit Cosmic Big Bang and was declared the winner but the Frankfurt coach complained, saying Matador of M83 kicked out in time. They checked the replay and he kicked out at 3 1/4, just missing the chance to stay alive in the match
Mexico City Fire (4-4) @ Las Vegas Aces (2-6)
(O) Whiplash (MC) beat Quasar (LV) with Executioner's Clothesline. Time: 16:06 Fatigue: Whiplash-2, Quasar-2 (MC) Soldier of Fortune (LV) beat Actagon (MC) with The Revenger. Time: 3:42 Fatigue: Actagon-1 (ME) Exo-King (LV) beat Chaos (MC) with Death Vise. Time: 2:11 Fatigue: Chaos-2
Winner: Las Vegas 2-1
Injuries: None
NOTES: Whiplash beat the home team favorite Quasar to get Mexico City off to a good start --- His teammates could not finish the job. Especially Chaos who let the fans get to him and Exo-King pretty much dominated the action in a short match
Rome Empire (7-1) @ Barcelona Conquistadors (1-7)
(O) Vigilante (R) beat Antimatter (B) with Police Brutality. Time: 6:35 Fatigue: none (MC) U.S. Patriot (B) beat Spike (R) with one-leg karate kick. Time: 4:09 Fatigue: none (ME) Pegasus (B) beat Raven (R) with Total Submission. Time: 7:29 Fatigue: Raven-4, Pegasus-1
Winner: Barcelona 2-1
Injuries: None
NOTES: In the Opening match Vigilante gave Antimatter his first loss of the season --- Then in the Mid-Card U.S. Patriot pulled off a surprising upset of Spike. Not only due to who his opponent was but the way he did it. The karate kick and first pin attempt --- Raven had an early pin attempt in the Main Event and then it was all Pegasus after that. He really worked Raven over and finished him to get a huge upset win for Barcelona. --- Rome was looking to clinch the top seed in the European Conference and going against a 1-7 Barcelona it seemed in the bag. Especially after Vigilante got the win to open thing up. Never say never in the WWL
Los Angeles Stars (3-5) @ New York Titans (4-4)
(O) Battering Ram (LA) beat Comrade Terror (NY) with Ani-Man Ax Handle. Time: 5:32 Fatigue: Comrade Terror-2 (MC) Dreadnaught (LA) beat Dragonmaster (NY) with Nuclear Warhead. Time: 15:49 Fatigue: Dreadnaught-3, Dragonmaster-4 (ME) Thantos (LA) beat Galactic Punisher (NY) with Masterlock. Time: 22:26 Fatigue: Thantos-1, Galactic Punisher-2
Winner: Los Angeles 3-0
Injuries: Comrade Terror further aggravated his injury. He is doubtful for next week.
NOTES: With the playoffs still a possibility both teams had men going with injuries. --- Comrade Terror was far from 100% but he knew Battering Ram had his injuries to deal with so thought he could help New York. Battering Ram pretty much ran over him and got the win --- Dreadnaught has been said to resemble a dragon but he is not one as Dragonmaster could not figure him out. Both men had a brutal match that saw Dreadnaught pull out the W --- With that win LA had the game victory. This is what Thantos has been waiting for, a team that can help get team wins. The trade for Dreadnaught and Battering Ram has been really good for LA --- Thantos went out and got the win to complete the sweep. He had Punisher in the Masterlock but Punisher got a hold of the ropes for a break. Thantos pulled him to the center of the ring and applied it again to get the win. --- They are still a long shot to make the playoffs but Los Angeles could squeak in --- Meanwhile New York has seen their playoff chances dwindle over the last couple weeks. They still have a chance but it is much smaller right now then it was two weeks ago
Glasgow Rangers (2-6) @ Paris Legion (6-2)
(O) Splatter (G) beat Justice (P) with Meet Arsenal. Time: 18:17 Fatigue: Splatter-3, Justice-4 (MC) Vengeance (G) beat Massacre (P) with Gladiator Piledriver. Time: 4:28 Fatigue: Massacre-2 (ME) Mayhem (P) beat Bloodline (G) with Diamond Cutter as Bloodline jumped off the top rope. Time: 6:39 Fatigue: Bloodline-1, Mayhem-1
Winner: Glasgow 2-1
Injuries: Justice has a light injury but it should not bother him.
NOTES: Paris, thanks to Barcelona, had the chance to get back on top of the European Conference --- Splatter dominated early in the Opening match. He hit Meet Arsenal a pair of times but then Justice started to fight back. He hit Shock Probation really good but only got a 2 1/2. He followed it up a bit later with a weaker one and Splatter kicked out at 2. Splatter would go on to win and put Paris in trouble --- Vengeance was still dealing with an injury but he took the fight to Massacre. He used his Eye Cleaver move to soften up Massacre then finished him off. Massacre started the season hot but has cooled down recently --- With the victory Glasgow pulled off a second upset of the week. Paris blew a good chance this week --- In the Main Event Mayhem faced Bloodline and looked to be in trouble. Then Bloodline jumped off the top rope and Mayhem caught him in a Diamond Cutter that earned him the win. --- While the win kept Paris from being shutout it did something else. It clinched them their playoff spot. Paris faces London, who are in third, in the last week of the season. If London wins, they would tie Paris in the standings but with the tiebreaker of overall match wins Paris would go to the playoffs. Just shows how even with a game lost an individual match win can be huge
Highlight Game of the Week.
Chicago Muscle (4-4) @ Toronto Juggernauts (7-1)
(O) Dreggs (T) beat Stalker (C) with Twist And Shout. Time: 4:23 Fatigue: Stalker-2, Dreggs-2 (MC) Janus (T) beat Massif (C) with Gordian Knot. Time: 2:19 Fatigue: none (ME) Bounty Hunter (C) beat Iron Mane (T) with Animal Trap. Time: 5:12 Fatigue: Iron Mane-1
Winner: Toronto 2-1
Injuries: None
NOTES: Toronto continues to roll. This was a possible preview of the North American Conference Championship game --- Dreggs won the Opening match in a competitive contest --- Janus made quick work of his bitter opponent to earn another win for Toronto --- Iron Mane could not complete the sweep --- Going into the last week of the season and having the top seed secured it will be interesting to see if Toronto rests one of two of their men to be prepared for the playoffs
North American Conference Record (match results)
Toronto Juggernauts 8-1 (16-11) x Chicago Muscle 4-5 (14-13) Los Angeles Stars 4-5 (14-13) Mexico City Fire 4-5 (13-14) New York Titans 4-5 (12-15) Las Vegas Aces 3-6 (12-15) e

WWL Spring 91
Week 10
Barcelona Conquistadors (2-7) @ Glasgow Rangers (3-6)
(O) Splatter (G) beat Antimatter (B) with The Shredder. Time: 4:22 Fatigue: Antimatter-1, Splatter-1 (MC) King Lear (G) beat U.S. Patriot (B) with The Coronation. Time: 1:58 Fatigue: none (ME) Pegasus (B) beat Bloodline (G) with Total Submission. Time: 4:06 Fatigue: none
Winner: Glasgow 2-1
Injuries: None
NOTES: A game between two teams just playing out the season --- King Lear got the nod so he could showcase his ability as it is believed Glasgow will not resign him. He was out to impress possible suitors in free agency and he did just that by getting a quick, decisive win --- A rare loss for Bloodline as Pegasus has come on strong at the end of the season. Pegasus may also be testing the free agency market after this season
New York Titans (4-5) @ Toronto Juggernauts (8-1)
(O) Doomsayer (T) beat Fury (NY) with Future Shock. Time: 7:20 Fatigue: Doomsayer-1 (MC) Dragonmaster (NY) beat Matter (T) with Dragon Drop. Time: 3:54 Fatigue: Dragonmaster-1 (ME) Galactic Punisher (NY) beat Dreggs (T) with Life Sentence. Time: 8:56 Fatigue: Galactic Punisher-1, Dreggs-3
Winner: New York 2-1
Injuries: None
NOTES: New York sat Comrade Terror as he was too injured to go. They caught a break as Toronto, having the top seed all wrapped up, decided to sit their top two men --- New York won the game but would it be enough to get them into the playoffs?
Frankfurt Knights (4-5) @ Rome Empire (7-2)
(O) Mesmer (F) beat Vigilante (R) with Black Out. Time: 2:45 Fatigue: Vigilante-2 (MC) Bishop Hell (F) beat Spike (R) with Hellfire. Time: 1:42 Fatigue: none (ME) Raven (R) beat Matador of M83 (F) with Bladerunner. Time: 10:06 Fatigue: Matador-6, Raven-2
Winner: Frankfurt 2-1
Injuries: None
NOTES: Rome was looking to clinch the regular season European Conference title and thus home advantage for the playoffs. Things just did not go good for them. They lost the first two matches in a combined time of under 5 minutes. Not how they want to be doing going into the playoffs --- Raven worked hard to avoid the shutout. He hit both finishers early with no luck. Later Matador tried a cross body off the top rope but Raven caught him and transitioned into a power bomb. He got a two count. He followed up with another Blade Runner and got the win --- Rome is going to the playoffs for the 2nd straight season and 3rd time overall. Last season and this season they go in as the 2 seed even though they tied for the best record both times. The tie breaker came down to them having 1 less match victory then the other team
Mexico City Fire (4-5) @ Chicago Muscle (4-5)
(O) Whiplash (MC) beat Stalker (C) with Thumbscrew. Time: 21:02 Fatigue: Whiplash-4, Stalker-5 (MC) Massif (C) beat Actagon (MC) with grinding bear hug. Time: 31:10 Fatigue: Actagon-4, Massif-4 (ME) Chaos (MC) beat Bounty Hunter (C) with Bow Of Defeat. Time: 12:41 Fatigue: Chaos-2, Bounty Hunter-1
Winner: Mexico City 2-1
Injuries: Whiplash has a light injury. He will be dealing with injury for a couple weeks. Stalker has a serious injury. As his season is over, he can rest and be back at 100% for next season. Actagon has a serious injury. He will be hobbled for a couple weeks.
NOTES: Two teams still holding on to hope they can sneak into the playoffs --- The Opening match was a brutal affair as both mean beat the tar out of each other for over 20 minutes. Whiplash continues his good season with the W --- Then in the Mid-Card Actagon and Massif topped that by beating the stuffing out of each other for over half an hour. Finally, Massif put the squeeze on Actagon and got the win to even the game up --- Chaos has had a rough season but with the game on the line while on the road he came thru and beat Bounty Hunter in a short match compared to the previous two --- Chicago is eliminated from the playoff hunt while Mexico City is still in there. If the Fire do make it, they will go in limping as 2/3 of their starting lineup is dealing with injuries
Paris Legion (6-3) @ London Red Coats (5-4)
(O) Skinhead (P) beat Pulsar Prime (L) with Bad Attitude. Time: 16:05 Fatigue: Skinhead-1, Pulsar Prime-5 (MC) Lance At-Las (L) beat Massacre (P) with Martian Manhandler. Time: 27:59 Fatigue: Massacre-2, Lance At-Las-4 (ME) Mayhem (P) beat Star Warrior (L) with Danger Zone. Time: 4:49 Fatigue: Mayhem-1, Star Warrior-1
Winner: Paris 2-1
Injuries: Pulsar Prime has a serious injury. With his season over he can rest and recover. Lance At-Las has a light injury but would not have bothered him if he had to wrestle next week.
NOTES: Pulsar Prime went down in the Opening match but he did not go down easy. At one point Skinhead hit Bad Attitude, a head stomp and a Tombstone piledriver and Pulsar kicked out of two covers. At the end of the match Skinner needed Bad Attitude three straight times to finally put Pulsar away. The damage Pulsar took was obvious when he needed help to the back --- Lance At-Las made things interesting when he beat Massacre in the Mid-Card match. After starting 7-0 Massacre has lost 3 straight. Not the way he or Paris want to be going into the playoffs --- Mayhem pulled off the slight upset by beating Star Warrior. That game Paris the win and the regular season Conference title. They will be home against Rome --- This is Paris's first regular season title and their 2nd post season appearance. Not bad for an expansion team that has been around for only 3 seasons
Highlight Game of the Week.
Los Angeles Stars (4-5) @ Las Vegas Aces (3-6)
(O) Battering Ram (LA) beat Quasar (LV) with Battering Ram. Time: 16:11 Fatigue: Quasar-5 (MC) Soldier of Fortune (LV) beat Dreadnaught (LA) via DQ. Time: 1:52 Fatigue: Soldier of Fortune-1 (ME) Thantos (LA) beat Exo-King (LV) with Masterlock. Time: 20:50 Fatigue: Thantos-4, Exo-King-1
Winner: Los Angeles 2-1
Injuries: Quasar has a mild injury but is fine. Thantos has a light injury but is fine.
NOTES: This was made the Highlight Game of the Week with Thantos making his return to Las Vegas after leaving as a FA the past off season. As it was LA was still in the hunt for the playoffs and Vegas could play spoiler --- In the Opening match Battering Ram did most of his damage in first 5 minutes. It took him awhile to finally put Quasar away but he did --- The Mid-Card saw most of the match spent on the floor. Dreadnaught started the action with a couple moves then Soldier of Fortune rolled out of the ring. Dreadnaught went out and attacked him before returning to the ring. Fortune made it in by the 7 count. Dreadnaught went to the top rope but Soldier went up after him and ended up hitting a superplex. He then tossed Dreadnaught out and went to the floor himself. They brawled a bit then Dreadnaught hit a DDT onto the metal ring stairs and the ref disqualified him. It is his 2nd DQ of the season. If Los Angeles makes the playoffs, he would be suspended for the Conference Championship. If not, he will be suspended for week one of Fall 91 --- Exo-King beat Thantos in LA earlier in the season and was looking to repeat. He took the fight to Thantos and the match was long but, in the end, Thantos got the win much to the chagrin of the home fans
League notes: In the North American Conference there was a three-way tie for 2nd place and the last playoff spot. It was between Mexico City, New York and Los Angeles. The first tie breaker is head-to-head matchups and Mexico City was 3-1 against the other two teams, New York was 2-2 and Los Angeles only 1-3. So, Mexico City finishes in 2nd and will go to the post season for the first time. It is also the first post season for Toronto.

WWL Conference Championship preview and end of season awards
The playoffs are finally set. In the North American Conference, it will be Toronto Juggernauts (8-2) hosting the Mexico City Fire (5-5). Mexico City comes limping into the playoffs as both Actagon and Whiplash are dealing with injuries. It is possible Mexico City sits one of them and puts Invincible Krakan back in the lineup. Meanwhile, in the European Conference it will be the Paris Legion (7-3) hosting Rome Empire (7-3) in what should be a real barn burner. The two teams that win will face off for the WWL Cup.
The end of season awards were announced today. Here are the winners.
MVP - Thantos (LA) Ignitor - Vigilante (R) Rookie - Janus (T)
This is Thantos's third MVP and second in a row. He has won all three while on three different teams. Vigilante was an impressive 7-3 in the Opening match position and helped get Rome started in many games on the way to making the playoffs. Likewise, Janus saw his rookie season be successful as he was vital to Toronto's great season going 6-3 in the Mid-Card position. Here are the All-Star teams. Of course, if any member sees his team go to the WWL Cup they will be replaced.
North American Conference: Thantos (LA), Massif (C) and Whiplash (MC) European Conference: Bloodline (G), Massacre (P) and Star Warrior (L)
This is the fourth All-Star team for Thantos and Massif. Second for Star Warrior and Massacre. The first for Whiplash and Bloodline.
In other news, London Red Coats have informed Chopper Mattock that they will not be resigning him. He will enter the free agency pool once free agency opens shortly after the end of the season.

WWL Spring 91
Conference Championships
North American Conference Championship
Mexico City Fire (5-5) @ Toronto Juggernauts (8-2)
(O) Whiplash (MC) beat Dreggs (T) with Thumbscrew. Time: 2:50 Fatigue: none (MC) Actagon (MC) beat Janus (T) with Grecian Sleeper Grip. Time: 4:45 Fatigue: Janus-3 (ME) Chaos (MC) beat Iron Mane (T) with Bow Of Defeat. Time: 2:55 Fatigue: Iron Mane-2
Winner: Mexico City 3-0
Injuries: None
NOTES: The home crowd was loud and rowdy as the game started. It was not long before they were really quiet --- Whiplash was coming into this match injured but he fought thru them knowing how much was on the line. He put Dreggs away with shockingly ease (snake eyes) --- Earlier this season Janus talked about putting his submission finisher up against Thantos's own. He should have been less worried about the Masterlock and more about the Grecian Sleeper Grip. Actagon dealt with his own injuries and got the W to propel Mexico City into the WWL cup. Actagon applied his finisher about a minute in and almost got the victory then. He ended the match with his finisher, a deathjump that rocked Janus and his finisher two more times. The onslaught was too much for Janus --- The home crowd was stunned. They had the best record in the WWL this season and yet will not be in the WWL Cup --- In the Main Event Iron Mane was trying to beat Chaos for the third time this season. It would not happen as the big man came out focused and dominated. He went with Galaxy Crusher less than half a minute into the match and got a two count. Then a Bow Of Defeat almost won the match. He followed up with a Hyperdrive and another Bow Of Defeat to get the win and sweep for the Fire. His team did not need the win but he was joining them in sending a message. They want to win the Cup --- Toronto battled all season to get an 8-2 record, having wrapped up the top seed early on only to see their season end in the playoffs in a combined 10 and a 1/2 minutes of match time
European Conference Championship
Rome Empire (7-3) @ Paris Legion (7-3)
(O) Vigilante (R) beat Skinhead (P) via DQ. Time: 16:10 Fatigue: Vigilante-1, Skinhead-1 (MC) Spike (R) beat Massacre (P) via DQ. Time: 8:16 Fatigue: Massacre-1 (ME) Raven (R) beat Mayhem (P) with Bladerunner. Time: 9:15 Fatigue: Raven-1, Mayhem-5
Winner: Rome 3-0
Injuries: None
NOTES: The Opening match lasted longer than all three matches in the North American Conference Championship. In the end Skinhead left the ring for a breather and Vigilante went out after him. Skinhead went too far when he used a chair and the ref disqualified him. That made the road team 4-0 so far this postseason --- In the Mid-Card after some good back-and-forth, Massacre charged at Spike in the corner but Spike moved. Massacre crashed shoulder first into the turnbuckle and rolled out to the floor. Spike went after him and Massacre snapped. He hit a low blow and then tried to choke Spike out with his hands. Another DQ and just like that, Rome is on their way to the WWL Cup --- Raven went for the sweep and he brutalized Mayhem while being in control most of the match --- Both road teams won their playoff games and both did it by shutting out the home team. It will be Rome vs Mexico City for the WWL Cup. Who will win the Cup for the first time?
Here is next week's schedule.

5th WWL All-Star Battle Royal
Howard Berman: Welcome to the fifth WWL All-Star Battle Royal. Three men from the North American Conference and three men from the European Conference will have a battle royal. Along with winning $10,000 for themselves the winner of the battle royal will earn the home advantage for their Conference in the WWL Cup.
Alice Bundy: Let's take a look at the six men who were voted as All-Stars all though not all will compete in the battle royal.
North American Conference: Thantos (Los Angeles), Massif (Chicago), Whiplash (Mexico City)
European Conference: Bloodline (Glasgow), Massacre (Paris), Star Warrior (London)
Alice Bundy: Due to competing in the WWL Cup Whiplash will not be in the Battle Royal. Taking his place will be Janus (Toronto). It will be a bit bittersweet for Janus, the Spring 91 Rookie of the Season. He got voted in after Mexico City Fire beat his Toronto Juggernauts. So, he is in the Battle Royal instead of the WWL Cup like Whiplash will be.
Howard Berman: It looks, at least on paper, like North America will have the better team with two-time Battle Royal winner Massif plus three-time MVP Thantos along with the Rookie of the Season. Meanwhile The European Conference lacks a lot of All-Star Battle Royal experience. But who knows, maybe someone will surprise us like Spike did last season.
Alice Bundy: I am ready to find out, so let's get to it.
All-Star Battle Royal
- Right off the bat Star Warrior grabs the rookie Janus and tosses him over the top. But Janus holds on to the rope and slips back in - With Star Warrior distracted Thantos comes up behind and throws him out and down to the floor. (:29) - At this pace it will be a short Battle Royal - Massacre and Bloodline battle by the ropes but neither man looks to be in trouble - Massif dumps Bloodline over the top rope but he skins the cat and his feet do not touch - Once back in Bloodline goes to toss Janus. But Janus manages to redirect himself and he lands on the ring steps instead of the floor. He then re-enters the ring - Bloodline and Janus are now going at it like two wild men - Thantos tosses Massacre out but the Aethran holds on and slips back in the ring - Massacre tosses Janus out of the ring but not over the top rope as he goes THRU the ropes. So while hitting the floor Janus is not eliminated - Now Thantos is exchanging blows with the large man Massif. That may not be wise - Bloodline grabs Janus and runs him toward the ropes, sending him over but Janus grabs ahold of Bloodline. Not wanting to go over Bloodline starts backing up which helps Janus get into the ring again - Thantos grabs Bloodline and tosses him into the corner. He is using multiple shoulder blocks to wear Bloodline down - Thantos then turns his attention to Massacre. He rushes at the Gladiator but Massacre ducks, pulling the top rope down and Thantos flies over it and crashes on the floor (3:14) - We finally have our second elimination. This may not turn out to be a short match after all - The final four: Massacre, Bloodline, Massif, Janus. Two men from each conference - The next couple minutes see guys close to tossing an opponent out of the ring only to have the opponent hold on some way and not touch their feet to the floor - Janus eliminates Bloodline (5:47) - Down to three until Massacre charges Massif. The big man grabs him in a bear hug and lifts him over the top and sends him crashing to the ground (7:23) - We are down to two men. Two-time winner Massif and current Rookie of the Season Janus. This means North American Conference will win and Mexico City will be the home team - The two slug it out and finally Janus uses a leverage advantage to get Massif up and over the top rope. He lets gravity do the rest (8:35)
Winner: Janus from the North American Conference
Eliminations:
Janus-2 Massif-1 Thantos-1 Massacre-1
Alice Bundy: How fun was that? It looked like it would be a short match with the first elimination taking less than half a minute but then the men battled on and we had more close calls with near eliminations than in any previous All-Star Battle Royal. My heart was racing several times.
Howard Berman: You and me both. Massif continues to be impressive in these things. He has been in four, winning the first two and coming down to the end in the other two. But tonight, it was the rookie Janus that pulled out the win. He earned some pocket change and gave Mexico City Fire the home advantage in the WWL Cup. Imagine that. A team that struggled all season, ended up at .500 with a 5-5 record and they will host the Cup with a chance to win it all.
Alice Bundy: Yea it sounds familiar. New York did the same thing last season only they had a slightly better record and they were the road team. Either way we will see a new Cup winner. Could it be Rome who has come up short in the past or Mexico City with the under achieving Chaos. We will find out soon.
Howard Berman: Yes, we will. Then it will be off into an interesting off season. No draft before the Fall 91 season. So, it seems like trades and signing free agents might happen a bit more than in the past.
Alice Bundy: I am not sure how we can top some of the blockbuster trades of last season. Of course, teams will have their eyes on the next off season where we will have a draft and the top prize right now will be Star Warrior's brother, Alpha Force. Teams might be in a scramble to try and draft him.
Howard Berman: I think you are right about that. Well, that is our time. For Alice Bundy I am Howard Berman and we will see you at the matches.
Here is next week's schedule.

WWL Spring 91
WWL Cup
Rome Empire (7-3) @ Mexico City Fire (5-5)
(O) Vigilante (R) beat Whiplash (MC) with Police Brutality. Time: 12:14 Fatigue: Whiplash-4 (MC) Actagon (MC) beat Spike (R) with Grecian Sleeper Grip. Time: 4:23 Fatigue: Spike-3 (ME) Raven (R) beat Chaos (MC) with Bladerunner. Time: 6:14 Fatigue: Raven-4, Chaos-4
Winner: Rome 2-1
Injuries: Whiplash got another injury. He has a mild injury but will be fine by next season. Spike has a medium injury but will be fine by next season.
NOTES: The home crowd was on fire, pun intended, as they went thru a tough season and yet here they are with a chance to win the WWL Cup --- Once again Whiplash was at less than 100% but better than last week. It did not matter as Vigilante took the fight to him and was all over Whiplash. After a decently long match Vigilante finished Whiplash off with his finisher and got Rome off to a hot start --- Actagon was also still dealing with an injury but seeing what happened in the Opening match he went right at Spike. He wore Spike down and won thanks to his finisher --- The game was tied up 1-1 and it was coming down to the Main Event --- The home fans started the "Chaos" chant. Slow and low to begin but getting louder and louder. By the time he came out it was a deafening sound of his name being chanted by the home fans --- Raven and Chaos only went a tad over six minutes but they tore into each other. Raven had 2 early pin attempts but nothing solid. Then Chaos with a pin attempt and he tried Bow Of Defeat three times but Raven was not close to giving in. He came back and hit Bladerunner and covered for a thinly close 2 1/2. A deadly piledriver and yet another 2 1/2. The fans were going wild, trying to get Chaos to rebound. Raven jumped off the top rope and Chaos ducked. Raven ended up hitting the ref. Raven looked to the floor and saw a table that was to be used for the Cup presentation was set up ringside. He moved Chaos over to that side of the ring and hit Bladerunner. He sent Chaos over the top rope and crashing thru the table. The ref started to stir and Raven went out, rolled Chaos back into the ring and went for the cover. The ref counted three and Rome had won the WWL Cup --- The home fans were not happy. Not only did their team lose but they feel Raven took advantage of the ref being unaware of what was happening in the match --- Be that as it may, Mexico City will have to look to Fall 91 for their chance to win the WWL Cup
Raven named playoff MVP

WWL Off season news and updates
There is a lot to get to as there has been a whole bunch of moves, some kind of shocking, this off season. But first, we have late breaking news. It is official, the Barcelona Conquistadors team has been sold. The team was purchased by an electronics company in Japan. The Fall 91 season will be their last in Barcelona. They will officially start play in Japan, Tokyo to be precise, for the Spring 92 season. It is believed that for that season the Conferences will be renamed West for North American and East for European. Now, on to current happenings in the WWL. Here is a team by team break down on their off season moves.
New York Titans: They resigned their Main Event wrestler Galactic Punisher but only to a 1 season deal at $160K. There is talk that if he does not perform great this year New York may start looking for a new Main Event guy.
Los Angeles Stars: No moves but that does not mean they may not improve from last season. Thunder was awarded his Cleansing on Aethra and he is said to be much improved. He could battle Ram, formerly known as Battering Ram, for the Opening Match position.
Chicago Muscle: Chicago might have made the most surprising move this off season. They did a sign and trade with their Main Event wrestler, Bounty Hunter. He was their first pick ever and held the top spot thru the first WWL seasons but now is on the move. Chicago signed him to a 2 season deal at $180K per season then shipped him to Barcelona. That means he will spend three straight seasons in three different cities. Last season Chicago, this season Barcelona and Spring 92 in Tokyo. Barcelona sent Chicago the 1st round pick in Spring 92 they got from Frankfurt. Chicago is said to have wanted Barcelona's 1st round pick as it will be higher but Barcelona would not offer that for the same reason.
In addition to that big move Chicago resigned Massif, who was said to also be on the trading block but removed after the Hunter trade, to a 2 season deal at $140K per. Vyper is said to be much improved and will be challenging Stalker and Cannibal for the Mid-Card and Opening match positions. They still have a roster spot open so they could sign someone that would also make a push for one of those two spots. Mad Jester is said to be on their radar. Brute was as well before he signed with Frankfurt.
Mexico City Fire: The defending North American Champions have been quiet so far this off season. One would think they would make a move as they came up short in the WWL Cup. But so far, the only move was to let Invincible Krakan go making him a FA. They did extend Whiplash who was on the last year of his contract at $100K. His new contract has him signed for 3 seasons at $120K per. A modest pay raise.
Las Vegas Aces: The Aces tried to resign their top man on the roster, Exo-King, but since they were not 100% behind him their offer was said to not be much more than he got and probably only for 1 season. So, he walked and is now a FA. They did resign their other two starters. Quasar got a 3 season deal for $120K per while Solider of Fortune got a 1 season deal for $130K.
Then they made a huge splash to get their new Main Event wrestler. They sent their 2nd round pick in Spring 92 and 2nd round pick in Spring 93 to Frankfurt to bring in Wolf. Much like the Bounty Hunter trade this surprised a lot of people. While Wolf was Frankfurt's first ever pick and started in the Main Event, he had moved down to the Opening match recently to let others have the top spot. This past season saw him struggle, a carryover from Fall 90. Talk is he may have lost a step. We shall see as he is back in the Main Event for a team trying to rebuild since Thantos left them for LA.
Toronto Juggernauts: The team that finished Spring 91 with the best record but got bounced in the playoffs by Mexico City resigned their starting lineup but that is all they have done so far. That may not be a bad thing seeing how close they came to the WWL Cup. Janus is being moved into the Main Event position and had his rookie contract extended. He was due to make $100K in the last season of his contract but signed a new deal for 3 seasons at $160K per. Iron Mane, who moves down to the Mid-Card position signed for 2 seasons at $150L per while Dreggs signed for 2 seasons at 130K.
London Red Coats: With their starting lineup already still under contract they did not do much this off season. They had an open spot on their roster and eventually they filled that by signing King Lear to 1 season at 100K. He will be on the bench in case of injuries. Beyond that they let Chopper Mattock go which was reported previously.
Rome Empire: The reigning WWL Cup champs did not see much change in their roster. They tried to resign Brute but he decided to test the FA market. They ended up filling his roster spot by signing King Lear for 1 season at $135K. He wanted $140K and they wanted to sign him for $130. They ended up splitting the difference. Ironically, Brute signed for less than King Lear did.
Barcelona Conquistadors: At first Barcelona was really quiet. They resigned U.S. Patriot to a 1 season contract for $100K. Beyond that was the talk if they would resign Pegasus or not. Then they made the big splash by trading for Bounty Hunter. He moves into the Main Event spot. That seems to make Barcelona's decision on Pegasus easier. They resigned him to a 2-season contract at $130K per. He struggled early last season but got hot at the end. Barcelona is hoping he can continue that in the upcoming season especially being in Mid-Card instead of Main Event. They also cut Executioner to get to the five-man roster and same some salary cap.
Frankfurt Knights: They made a lot of fans, especially the Wolf Pack, unhappy with trading Wolf away. Not to mention they only got a 2nd round pick in each of the next two seasons for him. A 1st round pick might have made the loss sting less. It seems the teams in the early talk for a trade were Barcelona, New York and Chicago but Las Vegas slipped in and while the others offered only one 2nd round pick, they offered two and got the deal done.
The Knights resigned their other two starters. Matador of M83 signed for 2 seasons at $170K and Bishop Hell who seemed to be rejuvenated in Frankfurt signed for 2 seasons at $130K. They then resigned their late season pick up, Mesmer, to a 1 season deal for $100K. Finally, they added Brute when they signed him for 1 season at $130K.
Paris Legion: The team that came so close to the WWL Cup had a quiet off season so far. They resigned Massacre to a 2 season deal for $170K per. They let Death's Head go without resigning him and he is a FA. It looks like they are banking on their team being good enough to challenge again for the Cup this season. There is still time for them to make a move to get better if they so choose.
Glasgow Rangers: The Rangers off season has been a quiet one as well. They did not try and resign King Lear. He became a FA and signed with London. They signed Death's Head to a 1 season at $80K deal. They should be a slightly better team as Vengeance also went to Aethra for a Cleansing.
The word is they tried to make a deal. It seems they tried to trade Incredible Badger. There were supposedly talks with Chicago, Las Vegas Toronto, Rome and Barcelona but nothing materialized. So, for now he will sit on the bench. Some experts think it is a mistake by Glasgow. While Badger struggled last season, he is still good and has been one of the best Opening match men in WWL history. He is said to still be on the trading block so if another team deals with injuries and/or underperforming wrestlers he may get traded before the Fall 91 trade deadline.
One last tidbit. The season ended with a total of 19 DQs, less than the previous season. Fourteen men picked up at least 1 DQ, 3 men were suspended for a week and one man, Wolf, picked up a total of 3 DQs. Dreadnaught picked up his 2nd DQ in the last week so he will have to sit out the first week of Fall 91. Doomsday Creature still has a 1-week suspension from Fall 90 that will go in effect if he signs with a team.
