YEAR TWO-MARCH-NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS:
Hello again fellow promoters. Hope everyone is doing well. PLEASE DISREGARD THE TOURNAMENT BRACKET AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST. I INSERTED IT BY MISTAKE AND HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO DELETE IT.
Here’s a rundown of tonight’s event:
1. Main Event For The GWF Galactic Heavyweight Championship:
Encubus vs Omega
2. GWF Interplanetary Championship Match:

4. Chain Match for the Heavy Metal Championship:

6. GWF Interplanetary Tag Team Championship Match:
Galactic Punisher & Mesmer vs Hornet’s Nest
7. GWF Women’s Championship Match:
Shann-Ra vs La Belleza
8. GWF Cruiserweight Championship Match:
Jack Of Diamonds vs U.S. Male
9. Special Attraction Match:
Thantos vs Bruno Sammartino
10. Special Attraction Match:

Since Sly Drury has two matches tonight we’ll kick things off with him so he has time to rest up a bit before match #2.
1. GWF INTERPLANETARY CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH:SLY DRURY VS BISHOP HELL II-A back and forth match the whole way. The big difference was that Drury was able to put some fatigue on Hell with four unsuccessful pin attempts while Hell just couldn’t keep Drury down for a cover attempt.
-After being on the receiving end of a Cult Cross Body Block Drury bailed out of the ring to collect his thoughts however the Bishop followed him out to continue the fight.
-That proved to be a mistake as Drury slammed him on to the announcer’s table. The referee was having none of that though and called for the bell. Hell wins the match but not the gold.
WINNER BY DISQUALIFICATION: BISHOP HELL II (SLY DRURY’S FIRST SUCCESSFUL TITLE DEFENSE)
2. GWF INTERPLANETARY TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH:GALACTIC PUNISHER & MESMER VS HORNET’S NEST
-This one was over fast. After winning the opening dice roll Swarm knocked Punisher down with a running shoulder block. Swarm followed up with an Animan Axe Handle and went for the cover but Punisher kicked out.
-Swarm smelled blood and after a VENOMOUS STINGER Punisher was down for the three count.
WINNERS AND NEW CHAMPIONS: HORNET’S NEST
3. GWF WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH:SHANN-RA VS LA BELLEZA-Shann-Ra appeared to have this match in full control as Belleza was clearly overmatched.
-After getting knocked down with a Huntress Claw Belleza bailed out of the ring to try to regain her bearings.
-Shann-Ra wasn’t allowing that and followed her out to continue the fight. Belleza won the brawl and slammed the champion onto the announcer’s table. For whatever reason the referee was more lenient this time and allowed the match to continue.
-Back in the ring La Belleza connected with a DREAM MAKEOVER. Snake eyes came up on the dice roll and in a huge upset we have a new champion.
WINNER AND NEW CHAMPION: LA BELLEZA
4. SPECIAL ATTRACTION MATCH: YAKUZA VS HAKU-A short match with Yakuza in control for the most part.
-After getting knocked down with a Triad Strike Haku left the ring to try to catch a breather.
-Yakuza wanted to keep fighting, grabbed a chair and tried to hit Haku with it. The referee tried to stop him but Yakuza
shoved him down to the mat getting DQ’d in the process.
WINNER BY DISQUALIFICATION: HAKU
5. GWF TELEVISION TITLE MATCH:ZYGON VS WOLF-The best match of the evening this was a back and forth slugfest that could have gone either way.
-Wolf went for five pin attempts and Zygon went for four but neither man could get the three count.
-Finally Zygon trapped Wolf in a Scorpion Deathlock. Wolf couldn’t handle the pain and tapped out.
WINNER AND STILL CHAMPION: ZYGON (HIS THIRD SUCCESSFUL TITLE DEFENSE)
6. GWF CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH:JACK OF DIAMONDS VS U.S. MALE-U.S. Male had the advantage early on and went for two unsuccessful pin attempts after a Special Tactics Suplex and a SEIZE THE DAY.
-Jack eventually managed to take over control and threw Male into the turnbuckle. Male charged back out of the corner and attempted a clothesline. Jack had the same idea and they knocked each other down to the mat.
-Jack recovered first and hit Male with a DIAMOND CUT but could only get a two count.
-Jack followed up with a BLACK DIAMOND to pick up the victory.
WINNER AND STILL CHAMPION: JACK OF DIAMONDS (HIS FIRST SUCCESSFUL TITLE DEFENSE)
7. SPECIAL ATTRACTION MATCH:THANTOS VS BRUNO SAMMARTINO
-Just like he did with Star Warrior last month Bruno mopped the canvas with Thantos.
-After softening Thantos up with various L2 & L3 moves Bruno locked him in a BEAR HUG. Thantos managed to escape by gouging Bruno in the eyes.
-Thantos kept leaving the ring to escape Bruno’s onslaught but each time had to crawl back in to beat the referee’s count.
-Finally, Bruno was ready to call it a night and finished off Thantos with The ITALIAN BACKBREAKER.
WINNER: BRUNO SAMMARTINO
8. GWF GALACTIC TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH:THE ULTIMATE FIGHTERS VS POWERHOUSE-Shoot came out of the gate with a vengeance. He quickly hit Massif with a Deadly Shadows and went for the cover but Massif kicked out.
-When Shoot went for a back body drop Massif was able to grab him and give him a piledriver.
-Earthquake tagged in but didn’t fare any better. After another Deadly Shadows Shoot covered Earthquake for the 1-2-3.
-Afterwards Clinch came into the ring to celebrate with his partner: “You didn’t even need me tonight partner. Drinks are
on me later
on.”WINNERS AND STILL CHAMPIONS: THE ULTIMATE FIGHTERS (THEIR FOURTH SUCCESSFUL TITLE DEFENSE)9. CHAIN MATCH FOR THE HEAVY METAL CHAMPIONSHIP:PARALYZE VS SLY DRURY- Paralyze looked like he was going to make short work of Drury as he hit him with several PERMANENTLY PARALYZED’S but each time he tried to drag Drury around to touch the turnbuckles Drury managed to stop him after three.
-At one point Paralyze tied Sly to the turnbuckle and proceeded to beat the daylights out of him with every move in his arsenal. As Paralyze dragged Sly’s lifeless body around to the buckles Drury somehow found a burst of strength to Suplex Paralyze before he hit the fourth corner.
-Drury all of a sudden had a rush of adrenaline and proceeded to hit Paralyze with the chain multiple times knocking him down.
-Drury subsequently managed to get a few opportunities to touch all four corners but Paralyze was able to stop him short each time.
-Finally Drury hit Paralyze with the chain again busting him wide open. Drury gave Paralyze a Suplex DDT and was able to touch all four corners successfully.
WINNER AND NEW CHAMPION: SLY DRURY10. SPECIAL ATTRACTION MATCH:GEISHA VS LATASHA- A back and forth match with nothing really noteworthy happening until the end.
- Late into the match Latasha threw Geisha into the turnbuckle. Geisha charged back out and the two women double-clotheslined each other. Latasha recovered first, hit Geisha with the FREEDOM FALL and that was all she wrote.
WINNER: LATASHA11. GWF GALACTIC HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH:ENCUBUS VS OMEGA-Encubus made short work of his opponent as Omega never landed a single offensive move.
-Encubus quickly got to L3 offense and after softening Omega up with his various finishing moves he wrapped things up with a SECOND COMING.
WINNER AND STILL CHAMPION: ENCUBUS (HIS FIRST SUCCESSFUL TITLE DEFENSE)A few quick thoughts from me:
1. After failing in his first seven championship matches Swarm FINALLY managed to win some gold tonight. I’m sure he’s glad to get that monkey off his back.
2. I’ll have to schedule a return match between Yakuza and Haku as that one ended before it really began.
