I never could never get into DC, as the creativity seemed lacking compared to Marvel. IMO EVERYONE was named Man, Woman, Boy, Girl, Ladd or Lass. This is what made the Flash and Green Lantern stand out to me. The reason Legionnaires were named Boy, Girl, Lad, Lass & Kid is because they were teens when they started.
Did seem kind of weird that Lightning Lad & Saturn Girl still had those names when they had a baby.
Although they later retired and learned that Darkseid kidnapped one of their twin sons at birth, transformed him into Validus, and sent him back in time to join Fatal Five!
Moral of the story: Don't piss off Darkseid!

Any of you Legion Of Substitute Heroes fans read DC Comics Presents #59?
Superman is traveling to the future when Ambush Bug decides to hitch a ride. Supes stops at 30th Century to drop him off at Legion HQ, but LSH is off planet. Supes leaves Bug with Subs who imprison him in Chlorophyll Kid's aquarium! As Father Mulcahy of MASH would say...Jocularity, Jocularity, Jocularity!

I've been saving my credit card rewards points for months waiting for that ROMnibus so I don't have to pay for it. Update - I'm a third of the way through the ROMnibus and it is spectacular.

I was always drawn to lesser-known characters; anyone remember WOODGOD? They pushed him HARD for a couple years. "Who can we put in this Marvel Team-Up with Spider-Man and The Hulk? Woodgod!"

I actually liked the Sub Heroes better at times than the main Legion.
