I actually liked the Sub Heroes better at times than the main Legion. Okay, Subs fans, who was your favorite Sub?
Mine's Night Girl who was a founder of the original team and also the new Subs.
That was when she & Cosmic Boy formed a new team with Bouncing Boy, Duo Damsel, Comet Queen & Karate Kid II!

How about Mr. Nebula: Interplanetary Designer & his cosmic locator Scarlet Skier?

I've been reading love everlasting. It's very good and not something I thought I would like. Here's the premise:
Joan Peterson discovers that she is trapped in an endless, terrifying cycle of "romance"-a problem to be solved, a man to marry-and every time she falls in love she's torn from her world and thrust into another teary saga.

Animal Lad - A metahuman who can alter biological matter, transforming animals into humans and vice versa. While he was not a member in the pre-Zero Hour comics and was rejected membership into the Legion of Super-Heroes, he was a member of the Legion of Substitute Heroes in "The New Golden Age" where he still has his powers and is stuck in the form of a humanoid lion.
Antenna Lad - A Grxyorian who can pick up transmissions across space and time.
Chlorophyll Kid - A male from the planet Madru who possesses chlorokinesis. He is also an expert at botany and hand-to-hand combat.
Color Kid - A male from the planet Lupra who can alter the colors of anything.
Double-Header - A Janusian who is skilled at hand-to-hand combat.
Dream Girl
Fire Lad - A Shwarian who can breathe fire and later developed other types of pyrokinesis over time.
Infectious Lass - A Somhaturian who houses different bacteria and viruses in her.
Night Girl
Polar Boy
Porcupine Pete - A metahuman who can shoot out pointed projectiles that resemble a porcupine's quills.
Rainbow Girl
Star Boy
Stone Boy - A Zwenian who can transform into a stone-like form. Despite being immobile and inflexible, he does possess super-strength and enhanced durability.
Clear answer for best sub is Stone Boy! He ranks up there with Mr. Immortal who the only thing he can do is die and come back to life.

This is a good example that there are options out there besides superhero books. Or even whatever DC is doing these days with the dress up dolls that used to be their superheroes. I'm not a Tom King fan, but I'm glad you're enjoying it. Image published a series called Infinite Vacation in the late 00s you may like as well if you hadn't read that one. I just got a copy of Bronze Star by Mike Baron and Pat Broderick. A beautifully drawn tale of the old west with a werewolf twist. A supernatural western, if you will. |

I remember the issue where Animal Lad was rejected for Legion membership. I always thought another reject from that issue would make a perfect Sub--The Polecat! |
