I am not sure anyone has said this topic cannot be discussed - just a question of why it is important, on_the_edge. Also it is assuming a lot to think that the promoters that are asking these questions are "uncomfortable with the topic," just because they are asking a question. As ~KB~ said, regarding all topics "It's Up To You Promoter." Case in point, in my fed I had Super Nova and Maxine Babe in a relationship on the first play through, after turning Super Nova heel following the death of Crossfire in 2104. It was up to me, so I did it. I guess the whole point is there is A LOT of assuming about people's intentions, feelings, etc. on this matter that is being done here, and worse, it appears, that it is being done in a light that assumes the worst about other promoters, and I just know that I do not want others to do that about me. But, again, that is just one man's opinion. And I never said anyone said this topic cannot be discussed. If you cannot see the negative aspect of some posts I am sorry. Doesn't mean it's not there. As far as why it's important the answer is the same about any question. The person asking has interest. A better question is if the subject is of no interest to a poster why did they bother posting? Plenty of threads do not interest me and so I pass on them and look for ones that do. Ah, so it is all about perspective, and perception. You have the right to feel the way that you do, and those of us who know the people behind the keyboard that are being accused of being rude, disrespectful, or intolerant, and I guess just because I choose to think the best of people, that I am interpreting the questions posed as just that - questions, no more; no less, I strive to give people the benefit of the doubt, and that is what I am going to do here. We have HONEST TO GOD, actual hate, of the LBGQT+ community, and this, this entire thread does not appear to even come close to that, in my opinion. If you feel that way, that is your right to feel it, and I will absolutely not say anything about that your assessment of what is going on, and that you aren’t missing something that is there. Yes, I can’t see the negative here in questions, especially when the original question had emojis that had multiple people, including myself, questioning the questioner’s post. I for one, appreciate that multiple promoters asked the question “Why does it matter?” because it allowed us a safe place to hear more about where Stevie Dreamer is coming from, which I, for one, appreciate knowing.

I do not agree with the life style, but thats neither here or there. THere should be a place for everyone in the galactic ring and it should be far enough into the future life styles don't matter. Would be cool to know if there are any and if there will be any coming soon.

i kinda remember when a certain character card (Adam Traitor) had a certain hate symbol on his arm (swastika), and there was no hullabaloo about it here on the proboards. One real-life monster Adollf Hitler had taken that symbol, which was a symbol of peace and love for Hindus, and turn it inside out and all around as a symbol of hate and death for millions of marginalized (Jews in particular). But if I can recall - and correct me if I am wrong- there wasn't much ado about it amongst promoters. (Was there?) However, one mention of the LGBTQ+ community in regards to COTG characters and some promoters have to tighten their chastity belts so to say. Makes me just wanna drift away from these boards and the game altogether... I'm not trying toi be political at all here. I was just curious about LGBTQ characters in the history of the GWF... I think that I've written enough...

Would they care about if there were Black humanoids in the GWF? It was still important to have them. Gender and sexual identity mean as much as ethnic/racial identity. If individuals are being ostracized/discriminated against for their race, then being discriminated for their gender/sexual identity is just the same. See, now you're getting into races of actual people who play this 'fantasy' game. That's different on a whole other level. I'm not going to debate you, because I'm not 'nearly' as articulate as you and I would lose horribly, but race is one thing and sexual orientation a complete other. That 'make-believe' character drawing on ANY card can be whatever sexual orientation you want them to be, me personally I never even thought about it because it makes no difference in the 'game'. IT'S UP TO YOU PROMOTER! (or does it have to be spelled out in the book to appease people? IDK)

In real life we're seeing the Oklahoma Wrestling Commission try to ban Nyla Rose from competing in a worked pseudosport because she's trans, so yes, I'd say it matters. There was also the incident with Rick Steiner harrassing Giselle Shaw at a wrestling convention, so it clearly matters to him (for reasons defying comprehension). While they're not a purely sex-based storylines, we do have romance storylines in COTG and in wrestling going back 40+ years. I don't see anyone complaining about not wanting to hear about Jake & Cheryl Roberts, or Triple H & Stephanie, or Randy Savage & Elizabeth, or U.S. Patriot & Ms. Liberty, or Endgame & Cosmic Woman and their relationships. In fact, now that I think about it, the presence of aliens almost leads me to think non-heteronormative relationships should be *more* emphasized rather than less or not at all. This was another criticism of Star Trek at least in the Next Generation-era--that every single alien race (except that stupid unisex one) seemed to be built around American-style nuclear families and that polyamory, homosexuality, asexuality, hermaphroditism, etc. didn't seem to exist in any corner of the universe, which doesn't strike me as realistic by the standards of a show about aliens in the future. It's not necessarily an easy balance--you want even your alien characters to be relatable so they're still going to gravitate towards Earth-style humanity. But if you're going for "realistic"...the personal lives of wrestlers are out there. In real life and sometimes in storyline. It seems far less realistic to pretend they don't exist at all. It seems far less realistic to pretend they don't exist at all. Nicely put, Pete!

As a gay person, it does matter. It's nice to see a fictional setting where Gay+ people are allowed to be featured, as there's plenty of people in the world that think they shouldn't be. And while I'd be against the stereotypical flaming character, they exist. Sexuality isn't personality, but nobody is trying to say it is either. And while I'm here, some of you in here are trying to purposefully misinterpret the topic. "Why do we care about sex?" "Why do we care about what's between their legs, i just want suplexes." Let's not be silly about this. We all watch men in essentially no clothes roll around together. This isn't the most heterosexual hobby in the world. It's fine, we're all fine.
As to the original question, Actagon and Proteus are gay, and I won't be taking any criticism. Also Havoc feels bisexual, I couldn't tell you why.

In addition, Taechon existed. So it's not like that topic has never been discussed before.

So disagreeing makes you an "insert bad words". So much pretend "tolerance" by promoters on here. and so the gaslighting begins ... Hi "Bear", My name is Mark Taggart. What's yours and do we know each other? I've been a member of this community for a lot of years and so have many of the nice people who have replied here. If you see an instance of hate or meanness, anything that requires "gaslighting", please quote it in this thread for me to see. I have this odd habit of taking individuals at face value as I know them because "the group is a social fiction where nobody is to blame", as the famous 20th century thinker Robert Anton Wilson said (or quoted from someone else. Bob always stole the best stuff). If I knew Stevie or his kid, or you or anyone else here, I'd treat them as I know them. If they are decent people, then no labels society puts on them or you would matter. But I do not celebrate people I don't know based on how they identify or to what group they belong (again, a fictitious label for a bunch of similar people to hide behind). I hope that at least clears up my end of this "hateful" discussion.
