Velvet: Hello, fans, and welcome to Heartland Ladies' Wrestling. Tonight, we remember the events of September 11, 23 years ago today, when thousands of Americans lost their lives in the tragedy of 9/11. Thank you for such a respectful observance of that tragic day. But you know, the best thing that we can do as Americans is to live our lives and celebrate our freedoms- and that's what professional wrestling is all about!

Velvet waves her arms, and the crowd rises to its feet, chanting "H-C-W! H-C-W!"

Velvet: Heartland- WHAT IS UP!?!?!? I am PSYCHED to be here! It's ladies' night in Cincinnati, and that means the Hardcore Honeys of the Heartland have come to town to kick some serious booty! The Filsinger Cup Ladies' Tournaments are kicking off here in Cincy, and I can't wait. KELLY KLEIN, the Heartland Ladies' Champion, has returned to her hometown for a tournament match against DEONNA PURRAZZO in tonight's Main Event. Let's take care of business!


PORTIA PEREZ** defeated VERT VIXEN* by disqualification

The antics of Portia Perez paid off again tonight in Cincinnati. Vert was getting the best of Portia, so Portia distracted the referee, tossed a steel chain to Vert, and collapsed to the mat, playing dead. The referee fell for the gag and called for the disqualification.


AVA EVERETT*** & DAVIENNE* defeated JANAI KAI & BILLIE STARKZ** when Davienne forced Billie to submit to the Davi End Ya Life


HOLIDEAD pinned MADI WRENKOWSKI**** with the Unprettier


KELLIE SKATER & EVIE defeated HEIDI HOWITZER & MSCHIF**** when Kellie submitted MsCHIF with the Camel Clutch

Velvet: Oh no. The struggles continue for MsChif as she tries to work with her rookies-in-training. Another bitter defeat for Your Soul's Tormentor. But fans- the time has finally come for us to kick off the ladies' matches in the 2024 Filsinger Cup Tournaments!


FILSINGER CUP LADIES' TOURNAMENT: FIRST ROUND
JORDYNNE GRACE pinned TRISH ADORA** with the Gannosuke Clutch

Velvet: Jordynne gets the win to open the Filsinger Cup competition on the ladies' side. Jordynne and Trish have had some big battles here lately- but it is Jordynne who comes through with the win tonight to advance to the Semifinals and a match at the 2024 Tournament of Champions!


FILSINGER CUP LADIES' TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT:
MERCEDES MARTINEZ & NICOLE SAVOY* defeated MALIA HOSAKA* & JAZZ*** when Mercedes pinned Malia with the Fisherman Buster

Velvet: Wow! That was a long-time rivalry that was rekindled here in the Filsinger Cup Tournament. Both Nicole and Jazz have moved on to singles competition, but the Cup always brings back teams who are hungry for another taste of glory!


FILSINGER CUP LADIES' TOURNAMENT: FIRST ROUND
DEONNA PURRAZZO defeated KELLY KLEIN******* by submission with the Fujiwara Arm Bar

In her return to HLW action, Deonna wrestled the best match of her Heartland career. Deonna took down Kelly with an assortment of suplexes, never letting the champion get her power game untracked. After keeping Kelly grounded, Deonna was able to lock in the Fujiwara Arm Bar and force Kelly to tap out!


Velvet: That was incredible! DEONNA PURRAZO just beat the Heartland Ladies' Champion! She made KELLY KLEIN tap out! Kelly has been dominating the Ladies' Division- but tonight, she got beat- in her own home town. What an amazing result in the Filsinger Cup Tournament! Two popular men squared off in a competitive match, which surprisingly turned ugly. Action went to the arena floor, where Slaughter powerbombed Brazil through a ringside table to set up for the submission.

EpicDave: The Filsinger Cup Tournament certainly brings out the competitive juices in all its entrants. I am surprised, but not shocked, at the level of violence that erupted between two pretty good-natured guys. And now- fans- the action continues on the Epic Sports Broadcasting Network.

FILSINGER CUP MEN'S TOURNAMENT: FIRST ROUND
ED 'STRANGLER' LEWIS defeated VADER*** by disqualification after outside interference by PERCY PRINGLE III

Longtime rivals Vader and Lewis squared off in another intense matchup. Lewis was able to maintain control for most of the match, finally trapping Vader in the Strangler's Headlock. Vader was on the verge of submitting when PERCY PRINGLE III pulled the referee out of the ring, costing his man the DQ.

LOU THESZ pinned HARLEY RACE**** with the Greco-Roman Backdrop

EpicDave: LOU THESZ has been on a serious roll in recent weeks. He captured the Atlantic Heavyweight Championship, and now he took out another legend to move on in the Filsinger Cup Tournament. And now, fans- it's time for tonight's Championship matches!


PATRIOT TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP:
BRUISER BRODY & JIMMY SNUKA** defeated JAY***** & MARK BRISCOE (c) when Snuka pinned Jay with the Superfly Leap

New champions were crowned in New York City! The Briscoes came out with stellar teamwork and frequent tags, but they were unable to do any damage to Brody. Snuka tagged in and out enough to allow Brody to remain fresh, and Brody took the opportunity to isolate Jay and pound the stuffings out of him! Mark tried to intervene, but a big boot from Brody put Mark over the top rope. Brody tagged in Snuka, and Snuka went to the air to hit the Superfly Splash on Jay for the pin.

BRUISER BRODY & JIMMY SNUKA CAPTURE THE PATRIOT TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

EpicDave: Congratulations to the new Patriot Tag Team Champions! Brody is an immovable object- and there was nothing that Dem Boys could do about it.

Valentine came out with a cerebral game plan, clearly inspired by Dillon, as Valentine dismantled the champion. Graham battle gamely, surviving several Atomic Skullcrushers before Valentine was finally able to put him away for the finish.

JOHNNY VALENTINE CAPTURES THE PATRIOT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

SARA DEL REY***** defeated HOLIDEAD***by disqualification after Holidead used a foreign object

Sara and Holidead threw down in an intense battle, with both ladies nearly grabbing victory. As Sara gained the advantage, THUNDER ROSA came to ringside and slid a pair of Brass Knuckles to Holidead! Holidead clocked Sara with the knucks and went for the cover, but the referee saw the infraction and called for the DQ.

After the decision, Thunder Rosa grabbed the leg of Sara and slammed it into the ring post! Sara was immediately in pain, and had to be helped back to the dressing room.


Velvet: Are you serious right now? Holidead just used a foreign object- in the Filsinger Cup? That girl is completely out of her mind- and Thunder Rosa is just as bad. EpicDave: I can't say that I am surprised to see that match break down. Patterson and Dusty have been at each other's throats for all of 2024. And there's no doubt that their paths will cross again.


FILSINGER CUP TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT: QUARTERFINALS
THE STEINER BROTHERS (RICK** & SCOTTY**) defeated THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (BOBBY EATON** & STAN LANE****) when Rick pinned Lane with the Steiner Dog

The battle between the Steiners and the Midnights was intense and evenly matched. Both teams were on point, with frequent tags on each side. JAMES E. CORNETTE was highly active at ringside, but the Steiners wise to his antics. The power of Rick Steiner turned out to be the deciding factor, as Rick was able to discard Eaton with a release German Suplex, enabling the Brothers to take down Lane with a double-team for the finish.

EpicDave: How about that! THE STEINER BROTHERS have just defeated the reigning World Tag Team Champions! Rick and Scotty have just put themselves back on the map for a World Title shot- and they have moved onto the semifinals of the Filsinger Cup Tag Team Tournament. The fans are going crazy, and Rick is barking up a storm. And now, fans- it's time for your Main Event of the evening!


FILSINGER CUP MEN'S TOURNAMENT: SECOND ROUND
ED 'STRANGLER' LEWIS** defeated 'NATURE BOY' RIC FLAIR********* by submission with the Strangler's Headlock

Lewis was on the top of his game in the Main Event. He proved the equal of Flair on the mat, and avoided the tactics of Flair's attacks on his legs. Lewis caught the headlock early in the match and wore down Flair, but Flair survived the initial submission attempts and battled back. Flair resorted to his cheating ways, attempting to use the ropes to pin Lewis, but Lewis was wise to the manuever and escaped the pin attempt. Lewis regained the Headlock, and despite Flair's stubborn resistance, finally forced the Nature Boy to tap out.


EpicDave: Congratulations to ED 'STRANGLER' LEWIS for a tremendous victory! Lewis has been on a serious roll this summer- he has defended the North American Heavyweight Championship against the likes of BRYAN DANIELSON and RODDY PIPER- and tonight he scores a win in the Filsinger Cup Tournament over one of the all-time greats! Lewis is one victory away from a trip to the 2024 Tournament of Champions and he has all the momentum in his favor. All right, fans- we're done here. Thanks for checking us out tonight! THE IRON SHEIK* defeated BOBBY SHANE****** via countout after a brawl on the Arena Floor

Sheik was kicking the daylights out of Shane in his return to action, and Shane had enough. The action spilled out to the arena floor, and Sheik smartly rolled back into the ring just ahead of the ten count to steal the win.

After the decision, Shane pulled Sheik out of the ring and the battle continued. Sheik loaded up his boot and came after Shane, but Shane drove Sheik face-first onto the ring steps! Sheik crashed hard, and appeared to injure himself with the landing. The referee immediately pulled Shane away from Sheik, and the trainers were summoned to tend to Sheik and assist him back to the dressing room.


FILSINGER CUP MEN'S TOURNAMENT: SECOND ROUND
JERRY LYNN* defeated LOU THESZ** by countout

EpicDave: Oh, no! That looked like a routine backdrop by Jerry Lynn, but Thesz fell through the ropes and landed awkwardly on the arena floor. No malice intended by Lynn- but an unfortunate turn of events for the newly crowned Atlantic Heavyweight Champion. Jerry Lynn moves on in the tournament- but all the eyes are on Thesz right now in the wake of his injury.


FILSINGER CUP TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT: QUARTERFINALS
JAY** & MARK***** BRISCOE defeated THE BRITISH BULLDOGS (DAVEY BOY SMITH******* & DYNAMITE KID*) when Mark pinned Davey Boy with a Cut-Throat Driver

EpicDave: Another amazing match between these two rival teams. They have been battling over the Patriot Tag Team title, and now they just put on a banger for the opportunity to advance in the Filsinger Cup Tournament. It is, without a doubt, the greatest time of the year in the Heartland. And now- thanks to the Filsinger Cup competition, we bring together another intense rivalry which has gone on throughout the year- and this one could definitely get ugly.


FILSINGER CUP MEN'S TOURNAMENT: SECOND ROUND
TERRY FUNK** (w/JIMMY HART) defeated BIG JOHN STUDD******* (w/BOBBY 'THE BRAIN' HEENAN) by submission with the Spinning Toe Hold

Both of the volatile managers had their influence on this match, but ultimately it was outside interference from STAN HANSEN on behalf of Funk that opened the door to the victory.

EpicDave: There is still no love lost between WHATEVER WE WANT and THE HEENAN FAMILY. Even the Filsinger Cup Tournament is not safe from the combustible elements on both sides of this raging feud.

NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: #1 CONTENDERS' MATCH
MR. WRESTLING I**** & II** defeated MAGNUM TA & BRAD ARMSTRONG***** when Wrestling I pinned Brad after a Short Suplex

EpicDave: After all the controversies and the DQ's it's great to see a legitimate technical match-up. And congratulations to MR. WRESTLING I & II! They have earned a World title shot to square off against THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS for the big belts. And now, fans- it's time for tonight's Main Event!


FILSINGER CUP MEN'S TOURNAMENT: SECOND ROUND
BARRY WINDHAM***** (w/JIMMY HART) pinned JOHNNY VALENTINE*** (w/JAMES J. DILLON) with a Lariat

Two of the top wrestlers in the Heartland went to battle in a high-stakes showdown for the Filsinger Cup Tournament. Valentine controlled much of the match, to the delight of James J. Dillon, but Valentine was unable to put Windham away. Jimmy Hart got himself involved, which produced chaos both inside the ring and on the floor. Windham was able to capitalize on the distraction, nailing Valentine with a Lariat for the pin.

EpicDave: Wow! I don't think Valentine ever saw that one coming. The chemistry between Windham and Jimmy Hart is near perfection! And tonight, their execution was flawless and the world champion moves on in the Filsinger Cup. Congratulations to Windham, and to all of tonight's winners. All right, fans- we're done here. Thanks for checking us out tonight! Heartland has just one more show before the 2024 Tournament of Champions- and the final show will go down on Wednesday night from Baltimore! EpicDave: Hey, fans! Welcome to Heartland Championship Wrestling! It is the most exciting Wednesday night of the year- as the 2024 Tournament of Champions is just three days away! Tonight, the stage will be set as the qualifiers for the Filsinger Cup Tournament Championships will be decided with here in Baltimore. The Quarterfinals of the Men's Tournament and the Semifinals of the Tag Team Tournament are set to go, and all of tonight's winners will be headed to Dallas this weekend for their shot at glory. So relax, grab yourself a cold one, and enjoy the show!

FILSINGER CUP MEN'S TOURNAMENT: QUARTERFINALS
ED 'STRANGLER' LEWIS** defeated 'ROWDY' RODDY PIPER* by disqualification

Piper held the advantage for most of the contest, until Lewis caught the Strangler's Headlock. Unable to escape, Piper clocked Lewis with a Foreign Object, but the referee detected the violation and called for the DQ.


FILSINGER CUP MEN'S TOURNAMENT: QUARTERFINALS
JERRY LYNN* pinned TERRY FUNK******* with a Cradle Piledriver

Another major upset! Lynn was holding his own against Funk, prompting JIMMY HART to take a swing at Lynn with his Megaphone. But Hart misfired, and clocked Funk instead! Lynn was able to drop Funk with a Piledriver and steal the victory, much to the chagrin of the Mouth of the South.

EpicDave: Are you kidding me? JERRY LYNN just scored another upset! Lynn has been in the right place at the right time TWICE, and he has made it all the way to the semifinals of the Filsinger Cup! Lynn will be front and center at the 2024 Tournament of Champions with a chance to wrestle for the Cup.

THE STEINER BROTHERS (RICK*** & SCOTTY*) defeated THE BRISCOE BROTHERS (MARK***** & JAY**) when Rick pinned Mark with the Steiner Dog


FILSINGER CUP MEN'S TOURNAMENT: QUARTERFINALS
PAT PATTERSON*** pinned 'SUPERSTAR' BILLY GRAHAM** with the Bombs Away


FILSINGER CUP MEN'S TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT: SEMIFINALS
JACK & JERRY BRISCO defeated TONY GAREA*** & LARRY ZBYSZKO when Jack pinned Garea with a Reverse Cradle

EpicDave: And the finals of the Filsinger Cup Tag Team Tournament are set! It will be JACK & JERRY BRISCO taking on RICK & SCOTTY STEINER for the championship. Neither of these teams have won the Cup in the past- so this weekend we will see a new Cup winner crowned in the Tag Team Division!


FILSINGER CUP MEN'S TOURNAMENT: QUARTERFINALS
BUDDY ROGERS pinned BARRY WINDHAM***** with a Piledriver

Frustration continued for JIMMY HART in Baltimore. Windham found himself in trouble at the hands of the skilled grappling from Rogers. Hart clocked the referee with his megaphone, then beckoned TERRY FUNK back to ringside, and Funk tried to climb into the ring. But out of nowhere, RODDY PIPER returned to ringside and pulled Funk out of the ring! Funk and Piper threw hands on the arena floor as the referee came around. Rogers regained control, and dumped Windham with a Piledriver as the referee delivered the three count.


EpicDave: What a performance by BUDDY ROGERS! He dominated that match against the reigning World Heavyweight Champion! He moves on to this weekend's 2024 Tournament of Champions to wrestle for the coveted Filsinger Cup. Rogers will join the other winners tonight- JERRY LYNN, PAT PATTERSON, & ED 'STRANGLER' LEWIS at Texas Stadium as they battle for the top prize of the year. Congratulations also to the tag team finalists, THE STEINER BROTHERS and JACK & JERRY BRISCO, who will battle it out for the Filsinger Cup as well. All right, fans- we're done here. The show opens with the tune, "O Fortuna" performed by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. EPICDAVE stands in the ring, accompanied by GORDON SOLIE, BILL APTER, LANCE RUSSELL, & VELVET SKY. The fans are on their feet, and excitement is in the air as EpicDave takes the microphone.

EpicDave: Hey, fans! Welcome to the 2024 Tournament of Champions! Tonight is the biggest night of the year in the Heartland, and we will see all four of the Filsinger Cup Championships awarded here tonight in Dallas.

Russell: This great wrestling city has already seen the TEXAS RANGERS bring home the gold, and the DALLAS MAVERICKS came darn close. The Heartland Board of Directors made an outstanding decision to choose Dallas as the host city for this year's Tournament of Champions.

Solie: No question, the history of wrestling in Dallas is magnificent. And tonight, Heartland Championship Wrestling brings to a close its 18th season of competition. The Filsinger Cup Tournaments are open to every man, woman, and tag team that has captured championships over the past twelve months. And after weeks of competition, it all reaches its conclusion here tonight.

Apter: BUDDY ROGERS is the odds-on favorite to win the Men's Tournament- a title which he last won in 2016. On the Ladies' side, none of the semifinalists have won the Cup in the past- but NICOLE MATTHEWS was the co-winner of the 2023 Lady Wrestler of the Year in the Heartland and now she finds herself in the drivers' seat to capture her first.

Velvet: Heartland- what is up?!?!!?! I am AMPED to be here! It's the best wrestling night of the year and I can't wait to see who takes home the hardware tonight.

EpicDave: Without a doubt- it is the best wrestling night of the year. So relax, grab yourself a cold one, and enjoy the show!

ED 'STRANGLER' LEWIS defeated JERRY LYNN***** by submission with the Strangler's Headlock

Russell: No surprises there. JERRY LYNN was the dark horse in this tournament. He put up a fine battle against Lewis, but no doubt the best man won.


FILSINGER CUP LADIES' TOURNAMENT: SEMIFINALS
NICOLE MATTHEWS pinned SARA DEL REY* with the Vancouver Manuever

Sara was wrestling injured, and the wily veteran Nicole was able to capitalize on the opportunity. Nicole took control early, and quickly set up Sara for the Vancouver Maneuver for the pin.

Velvet: Well, that's too bad for Sara. If it wasn't for the attack by THUNDER ROSA, that match would have been a lot tougher- and Sara would have had a better chance to win the Cup. Rosa is gonna have hell to pay! But give it up for Nicole- she was smart enough to take advantage of the opportunity and pick up the win.

PAT PATTERSON pinned BUDDY ROGERS**** with the Bombs Away

Solie: That was a major upset indeed. Pat Patterson wrestled the match of his life in the semifinals. He roughed up Rogers and never let Buddy get control. And tonight, it will be PAT PATTERSON vs. ED 'STRANGLER' LEWIS for the Filsinger Cup Championship!


FILSINGER CUP LADIES' TOURNAMENT: SEMIFINALS
JORDYNNE GRACE pinned DEONNA PURRAZZO** with the Grace Driver

Velvet: Wow! Did Jordynne look strong in that match or what? Jordynne and Deonna had some great battles this year- and in their most important match of the year, Jordynne looked unstoppable. We'll see Jordynne again later tonight when she takes on NICOLE MATTHEWS for the Ladies' Filsinger Cup!

EpicDave: The finals are all set in the four Filsinger Cup Tournaments. Now- let's crown the winners!


FILSINGER CUP LADIES' TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT: FINALS
THE ALLURE (ANGELINA LOVE* & MANDY LEON***) defeated NICOLE SAVOY** & MERCEDES MARTINEZ**** with Mandy pinned Mercedes with the Astral Projection

The experience edge definitely belonged to Martinez and Savoy, the reigning Ladies' Tag Team of the Year. The Allure found trouble to start the contest, as Mandy was trapped in the ring and roughed up. After a painful beating, Mandy made the desperation tag to Angelina. The Allure smoked Nicole with a double clothesline, opening the door for Angelina to go to work on Mercedes. Angelina trapped Mercedes in a painful Koji Clutch, nearly forcing the submission. Nicole came back into the ring, and a four-way battle ensued.

Velvet: This is SO intense!

All four ladies battled in the ring, until Angelina took out Nicole with a pump kick that sent Nicole tumbling out of the ring once more. Mandy took the opportunity and dumped Mercedes with the Astral Projection, covering her for the three count.

THE ALLURE WIN THE FILSINGER CUP LADIES' TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Velvet: What an amazing match! Congratulations to ANGELINA LOVE & MANDY LEON! They are the Filsinger Cup Tournament Champions- for the first time ever!

EpicDave: We have crowned the first Filsinger Cup Champions of 2024! Now, let's move on to the Men's Tag Team Finals!


FILSINGER CUP MEN'S TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT: FINALS
THE STEINER BROTHERS (RICK***** & SCOTTY) defeated JACK*** & JERRY**** BRISCO when Rick pinned Jerry with a German Suplex

Two accomplished brother teams with a rich Heartland heritage- but no Filsinger Cups- squared off in a spirited tag team tournament final. The Steiners were determined to create chaos, and frequently took the battle to the arena floor. The Briscos tried to withstand the onslaught, and managed to do some damage against Rick, including a near-fall on Rick from Jerry's Oklahoma Side Roll. But the hard-hitting Steiners weren't finished, as Rick laid out both Briscos with devastating Steinerlines. Rick planted Jack Brisco with a bodyslam onto the announcer's table, leaving Jerry to fend for himself. Jerry didn't last long, taking stiff shots from both Steiners before Rick closed the deal with a German Suplex.

THE STEINER BROTHERS WIN THE FILSINGER CUP TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Russell: Well, you can't deny the toughness of those Steiners. That was the type of physical battle that shows what Texas wrestling is all about.

EpicDave: It's hard to believe that neither of those teams ever won the Cup before- and now THE STEINER BROTHERS can proudly call the title their own for 2024.


FILSINGER CUP LADIES' TOURNAMENT: FINALS
JORDYNNE GRACE pinned NICOLE MATTHEWS**** with the Grace Driver

The power of Jordynne was on display against the veteran savvy of Matthews. Nicole could do very little against Grace, and after a punishing battle, Jordynne was able to power Nicole down with the Grace Driver for a decisive pinfall victory.

JORDYNNE GRACE WINS THE 2024 FILSINGER CUP LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP

Velvet: Way to go, Jordynne! She just overpowered both her opponents here tonight- the Grace Driver reigns supreme!

EpicDave: A new star is born here tonight in Dallas! Congratulations to JORDYNNE GRACE- she has won the Cup AND earned a title match against KELLY KLEIN for the Heartland Ladies' Championship.

Velvet: Kelly against Jordynne? That's gonna be a banger!

EpicDave: No doubt about it. And now- it's time for the Granddaddy of them all- the Men's Filsinger Cup Championship!


FILSINGER CUP MEN'S TOURNAMENT: FINALS
PAT PATTERSON** pinned ED 'STRANGLER' LEWIS*** with the Bombs Away

Both wrestlers came out aggressively, pulling no punches. Lewis was able to catch the Strangler's Headlock early in the match, but Patterson was able to survive and keep the match on even footing. Patterson was able to maneuver Lewis into a Figure-Four leglock. Lewis struggled to get free, nearly having to tap out before getting to the ropes. Patterson wasted no time, going immediately to the Bombs Away and pinning Lewis cleanly for the win!

PAT PATTERSON WINS THE 2024 MEN'S FILSINGER CUP CHAMPIONSHIP

EpicDave: How about that? PAT PATTERSON is your Filsinger Cup Champion for 2024! I don't think the pundits saw that one coming- but Patterson wrestled brilliantly in both matches tonight, defeating two of the great legends of the sport. We'll see him in action against BARRY WINDHAM for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. I don't know if he can take down Windham- but he pulled a couple of major upsets tonight and anything can happen in the wacky world of professional wrestling. All right, fans- we're done here!
