Thanks guys,
Looking to hold the Battlelines PPV on Friday, all being well.
Good to know that someone out there is reading this!
I should also say that I'm envious of everyone attending Galacticon. Its just too far and expensive for me to journey from England. I'll be jealous all weekend long!
Cheers.

- Doc Strongbows News Roundup. - Welcome to Battlelines! Man am I stoked about tonights event, great to have you join us.
Big news, Proteus has failed to show up tonight, I have no further information to offer. Save for the fact that Omega has stepped up to take on Mutant in his place.
This evening we'll see 10 men battle it out in the Royal Rumble, the winner will be guaranteed a title shot! This is going to be huge.
Thantos defends his title against Massif, while The Henchman put the gold on the line against The Gladiators.
Enough from me, I'll keep you up to date of any further news. Lets get down to the ring!
- Singles Bout - Omega vs. Mutant Mutant defeated Omega with a TEMPLE GRINDER at 6:32 Match Rating: 2.25 Match Notes: Mutant remembered what to do! Took him a while though, Omega dominated the early going putting on a clinic as he showed his legendary skills. However, Mutant seemed to suddenly wake up to his talk and was able to take the bout down a more violent route. His TEMPLE GRINDER grabbed him the victory, it was a matter of raw violence overcoming pure wrestling skills.
- Singles Bout - Renegade vs. Ghengis Khan Ghengis Khan defeated Renegade with a Disqualification at 3:28 Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: Simply put Renegade lost his temper. Not so unusual for this wildman as he continues to display a darker side to his personality. The fight was pretty even, neither man had taken an advantage by the time it spilled out of the ring and degenerated into a brutal assault on Khan.
- Singles Bout - Commander Sam vs. Vanity Commander Sam defeated Vanity with a Peacemaker Slingshot at 14:02 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: Sam pleased the crowd with a popular win. Both men escaped pin attempts as the bout progressed, Sam as ever did things the hard way! he proved yet again that he loves a good brawl, no wonder he's such a popular competitor. Vanity's contribution to the match-up shouldn't be overlooked, he gave it everything and on a couple of occasions came within a second of claiming a memorable win. This bout sure stoked the plans as the card headed into the main events.
- Backstage. - Omega enters an office, quietly closing the door behind him, behind the desk stands a man in a smart, well tailored suit. He's a figure we've seen before in passing, though for the first time his face is seen. A middle aged man with a pile of papers in hand, his form shimmers and breaks up for a fraction of a second.
Omega: "Whats the latest, are we ready to make our move yet?"
Man: "Almost, a few more details to tie up, you really sure you want to go ahead with this?"
Omega: "Yes.. absolutely. Thantos must be stopped, even if the GCW must die to make it happen"
Man: "Then a few more details and some signatures and we may just have this sorted."
Omega was about to reply when the door burst open, Thantos and Exo-King strode inside. Seeing that Omega was alone the King stepped aside and let the evil Gamesmaster do his thing.
Thantos: "Whatever you're up to, forget it! This is my Fed, now and for as long as I want it"
The man meeting Omega shimmered and vanished even before Thantos had finished speaking, so the champion turned his frustration on Omega. With a sudden, vicious swing of his title belt he cracked the living legend full in the face, instantly busting him open.
The bloodied Omega then found himself whipped into the wall, where Thantos proceeded to stamp on his enemy, before grunting his disgust and leaving with the King in tow.
- Tag Team Title Bout -
- Tag Team Bout - The Henchmen vs. Gladiators of Aethra for the Galaxian Tag Team Championship Executioner defeated Massacre with a HEADSMAN GUILLOTINE at 24:11 Match Rating: 4.50 Match Notes: The Henchmen proved they would be no pushovers. All four men put on a great display and it could have gone either way. No sign of foul play from any outside force at any time. Had the Gladiators proved to Thantos that they would co-operate if they became champions? Regardless, it was a moot point as the Terror and Executioner continued their reign, and added to the power-base being established by some elements of the villain camp.
- No.1 Contender Bout -
- Royal Rumble - Exo-King vs. Death Knight vs. Actagon vs. Star Warrior vs. Killer Queen vs. Pulsar vs. Beast-Rider vs. Pit Viper vs. Lord Nexus vs. Invincible Krakan Exo-King defeated Pit Viper with an Over the top rope. at 15:13 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: Friendships were cast aside here as Nexus made Pit Viper the first casualty, setting the tone for a frenetic bout! From there on Exo-King and Star Warrior took it in turns to eliminate the other competitors until they were the last two men left. The fair nature of the heroes had them battling each other, while the villains worked together and forged evil alliances. The last three men left included Krakan, he and Exo-King were able to do enough damage to Star Warrior, and even though he managed to eliminate Krakan, he ran out of steam. So Exo-King earns himself a title shot.
- Galaxian Title Bout -
- Singles Bout - Thantos vs. Massif for the Galaxian Championship Thantos defeated Massif with a MASTERLOCK at 12:19 Match Rating: 4.25 Match Notes: At about the ten minute mark Thantos kicked out of a pin following the VOLCANIC DROP showing that the champion is made of tough stuff. The match itself was a tight affair, the champion managing to stay in charge of most of it. Once he had the MASTERLOCK in place it was all over. Despite his huge strength Massif was unable to make it to the ropes, and after enduring as much agony as he could just had to tap out.
Following the victory Thantos grabbed a microphone and pointed up toward the big screen. Images of Star Warrior being eliminated from the Royal Rumble were shown, followed by footage of Omega lying in a broken and bloodied heap. The champion lifted the microphone and snarled with contempt.
Thantos: "I am unbeatable.. I am champion supreme. Who's next, find me a challenger worthy of my time!"
The show faded out as The Henchmen joined Thantos in the ring, once more showing that they held all the gold and all the power.
Overall Card Rating: 3.17

Great PPV! I like the advertisements that you put in your cards. They bring in that extra touch of realism that makes this such a good read.

GCW 12 05.02.2087 from Great Hunter Lodge, Orion.
- Injury and Suspension Update - Nothing to report.
- Doc Strongbows Roundup - Good evening grapple fans, welcome to the Great Hunter Lodge here in Orion. We're expecting a great card tonight, though Thantos hasn't been entirely forthcoming about what we can expect.
Let me tell you that we've heard nothing from Wolf since his retirement and the same can be said for Proteus who just hasn't been seen for a couple of weeks. I wish I had better news, anyway on with the show!
Let me hand you over to our champion..
(Its fair to say that there was a disconsolate edge to Doc's voice as he ended his segment and a general air of uneasiness consumed the arena)
- A Champion Speaks. - Thantos emerged through the curtain and stood a moment, drinking in the reaction of the crowd. Over his shoulder hung the title belt, he was followed shortly after by The Henchmen.
The three men stood together before heading down to the ring, all three championship belts glistening as they walked. Once in the squared circle, Thantos took a microphone whilst Executioner and Comrade Terror stood guard.
Thantos: "Welcome to my GCW show, I am your champion and I am truly worthy of your praise and adulation. Tonight I have two important pieces of news to give you. First, following his supposed 'retirement' I have decided to help make that a permanent deal by giving Wolf a lifetime ban from competing in the GCW effective today. Secondly, Proteus has not shown up this evening, again. Therefore he is banned from all competition until the end of this year. Thank you, I know you'll agree this is for the best"
The decision was met by a chorus of boos from the crowd, but the champion had made his decision.
But, Thantos hadn't finished yet.. he lifted a hand to still the fans and when afforded some quiet he continued.
Thantos: "Furthermore, to ensure an excellence of competition from now on, all title matches will involve a special guest referee of my choosing."
Again the crowd jeered, before erupting in cheers as Star Warrior appeared at the entrance-way and shouted into a microphone.
Star Warrior: "Thantos! Thantos.. you are the ruin of this Fed, of the legacy my father and other great competitors built. You've effectively removed the Greek Gods for the year, there's damn little tag action left now! Why don't you prove yourself and give me a title shot tonight!"
Thantos thought, stroking his chin a moment, before a glint played through his eyes and he spoke again.
Thantos: "Warrior.. you're right. I agree, I mean yeah, thanks for bringing me to my senses! I can't see the tag division go to waste. Therefore to replace the Greek Gods, you and your decrepit father will be confined to tag action for the remainder of the year. And yes, you'll get your title shot. Tonight, it'll be The Henchmen against Bloodline for the titles. Oh.. and I'll be the guest referee! Good luck!!"
Star Warrior made to charge the ring out of frustration but was blocked by Terror and the Executioner, after a brief tussle he was forced back through the curtain.
Thantos drank in the jeers of the crowd, before he spoke for the last time.
Thantos: "Pulsar, Death Knight. Get to the ring, you're up first. Enjoy the show fans!"
With that he was gone, the three men strolling arrogantly from the ring.
- Singles Bout - Pulsar vs. Death Knight Death Knight defeated Pulsar with a COSMIC LANCE at 10:02 Match Rating: 3.25 Match Notes: Both men gave it everything, battling tooth and nail as the match went back and forth. It seemed that for all the offence that Pulsar mounted, Death Knight just did more. he inflicted more punishing damage until finally the young Titan was unable to muster the strength for another kick-out.
- Singles Bout - Pit Viper vs. Vanity Pit Viper defeated Vanity with a Cross-body block! at 3:55 Match Rating: 1.75 Match Notes: Vanity just failed to find the quality to match up to Pit Viper, this brief match-up was always going one way. A routine win for the Titan.
- Singles Bout - Commander Sam vs. Invincible Krakan Commander Sam defeated Invincible Krakan with a SAMS ATOMIC DROP at 2:00 Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: Sam seemed infuriated by the antics of Thantos and made very short work of Krakan as a result. Having claimed the victory in a perfunctory manner he took to the microphone and spent several minutes calling the champion out to the ring. But to no avail, finally he threw aside the mic in disgust and stomped from the arena.
- Tag Team Bout - Neptunian Space-Croppers vs. Gladiators of Aethra Massacre defeated Renegade with a Neckbreaker at 19:36 Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: Great bout! The Gladiators took the win, but it was a real struggle. Both teams endured numerous pin attempts as the action went back and forth, Renegade put together a great run of offence and perhaps should have claimed the win if not for some craft and timely work by the Gladiators. They managed to show their greater tag experience and took the win to a standing ovation from the crowd. Despite being a mostly unpopular team the knowledgeable crowd paid tribute to a good performance.
- Singles Bout - Actagon vs. Exo-King Exo-King defeated Actagon with a Cross-body block! at 15:53 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: Well if Actagon is to be a singles wrestler for the rest of the year he sure gave it everything here. He looked disappointed with the result at the bell and perhaps rightly so, it was a real close competition. With both men looking dazed and slowed, King was able to connect with a daring cross-body block from the top turnbuckle. It knocked what little wind Actagon had from him and ended the bout.
- Singles Bout - Massif vs. Killer Queen Massif defeated Killer Queen with a Grinding bear hug at 6:55 Match Rating: 2.25 Match Notes: This was a little one sided, Killer Queen tried the quick attack and run strategy but was caught early with a couple of huge moves by Massif. That was enough to slow the smaller man down and it seemed only a matter of time until the giant locked in the winning maneouver.
- Tag Team Title Bout -
- Tag Team Bout - The Henchmen vs. Bloodline Executioner defeated Omega with a HEADSMAN GUILLOTINE at 13:32 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: With Thantos as special guest referee this was always going to be an uphill battle for Bloodline. While the champions got away with any number of pin saves and infractions, Star Warrior and Omega were stopped at every turn. Finally the odds proved too much and The Henchmen held on to the belts. With the decision in the bag, the three champions goaded the challengers with their belts, a standoff in the ring as the show faded off air.
Overall Card Rating: 2.89

Great stuff here, Mawson...you're playing Thantos up to the evil heel that he is. He's an unstoppable champion right now, beating the likes of Massif and others...I see a meeting between him and Star Warrior if SW ever gets a shot...nice work. Keep it coming, I'll be reading.

Hey Avarice,
Yeah I like Thantos! Wanted to have him really be rather evil for a spell. I have plans for some major shake-ups come the next PPV. Sure am having a lot of fun with this and very much looking to getting into 2088, a few more wrestlers would sure help!

Can't wait for the next PPV. Is this when we find out what Omega is up to? I am so loving this Thantos stuff. You're making him a guy that people are going to love to hate. Exactly what that character should be.

GCW 13 05.09.2087 from The Beehive, Praesepae Cancer
- Injury and Suspension Update - Nothing to report.
- Doc Strongbows News Roundup. - The Doc here, welcome to the show.
I want to begin tonight by apologizing to all of our fans for the behaviour of our champion Thantos. In all my years of professional wrestling I have never seen anything like this. The year long suspension of Proteus, the lifetime ban imposed on Wolf and forcing Star Warrior into nothing but tag action for the rest of the year.
I have no clue where this is going to end. Details of tonights schedule have yet to be released, Thantos has declared that he will decide on the card as it goes.
Lets get down to the ring and see whats coming up.
- Singles Bout - Pulsar vs. Death Knight Pulsar defeated Death Knight with a Flying leg scissors at 5:38 Match Rating: 2.25 Match Notes: Pulsar survived an early COSMIC LANCE and then endured quite a beating for the early part of the bout. He slowly turned the tide and managed a great comeback. It wasn't flash or particularly skillful, but the young Titan showed a great determination.
- Singles Bout - Pit Viper vs. Vanity Pit Viper defeated Vanity with a VENOM BLAST at 5:08 Match Rating: 2.25 Match Notes: Vanity started well and had the better of things to begin, he was never able to really hit the big moves though and it seemed only a matter of time before Pit Viper took control. It seemed that the gulf in class between the two men showed, the result going pretty much as expected.
- Titan Death Match - Lord Nexus vs. Invincible Krakan Lord Nexus defeated Invincible Krakan with a Figure-Four leglock at 8:32 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: Nexus took the initiative early and never let go, he had the better of things from start to finish. Somehow Krakan never really got into the bout, he was made to look very much second rate by the energetic Nexus. However, things got even worse for Krakan, after the match, Pit Viper ran to ring and begin a brutal assault on him, it was only the fair nature of Nexus that had him breaking up the attack or it could have been much more bloody. Seems that Viper finally exacted some level of revenge on Krakan, leaving the villain injured for four cards with a battered left shoulder.
- Thantos Rules. - With the last bout at an end, Thantos made his way to the ring, where he took a microphone in hand and relaxed against a corner turnbuckle. His attention seemed to be fixed on Doc Strongbow who occupied his normal place at ringside.
For several moments only the baying of the crowd could could be heard, then suddenly from within the fans emerged Executioner and Comrade Terror. They caught the Doc by surprise, smashing a title belt into the back of his head and then dragging him into the ring.
Before a disbelieving crowd The Henchmen took it in turns to hit a number of brutal moves and their finishers on Doc, leaving him a bloodied and brutalised mess.
Having not gotten his hands dirty yet, Thantos stepped forward looking over the slumped form of Doc Strongbow as he was held upright by the tag champions. He lifted his title belt, measuring the Doc for a crack to the skull.
Thantos: "Doc... YOU'RE FIRED!"
The champion growled the words before splitting Doc wide open with a vicious attack with his belt, the three villains then left the bleeding news-hound left laying in the middle of the ring.
- Tag Team Bout - Bloodline vs. Gladiators of Aethra Brute defeated Omega with a DECAPITATOR at 12:24 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: Bloodline continued their losing streak, once more Omega proved just too slow to be a competitive partner for his son. Star Warrior did all he could to take the fight to the Gladiators, but it was almost a two on one match-up. The crowd showed their disappointment, they'd just seen the legend Doc Strongbow beaten so badly that he was on his way to hospital and now the current fan favourite Star Warrior ended on the losing team yet again.
- Singles Bout - Actagon vs. Killer Queen Actagon defeated Killer Queen with a GRECIAN SLEEPER GRIP at 2:06 Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: Actagon gave the fans something to cheer as he recorded a good victory. Killer Queen tried to put up a fight, though he was never able to truly get into the match-up. The sole remaining Greek God continued to find his sea legs in singles competitions, showing that he won't let the sacking of Proteus get to him so much.
- Concern for the Doc - We see the unconcious form of Doc Stronbgow on a stretcher being lifted into a waiting hover ambulance. Omega and Star Warrior are on hand nervously watching the legendary Doc being taken away, finally Omega turns to his son.
Omega: "Enough is enough, I'm putting my plan into action. I just don't see an alternative... I'm sorry."
Star Warrior: "Dad, please. Just wait a little longer, I know that somehow we can stop Thantos. Don't kill the GCW please."
Omega: "Son, this isn't a wrestling federation, its a disgrace. One man is simply ruining the sport I've worked my whole life to promote"
The show faded out as Star Warrior nodded in resignation, clearly he wasn't happy with whatever Omega had planned but acknowledged that there was little choice remaining.
- Cosmic Cage Bout - Massif vs. Exo-King Massif defeated Exo-King with a VOLCANIC DROP at 13:45 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: Massif ended a violent encounter, the fight was brutal from start to finish. The King had his chances and it could have gone either way, he managed to bust Massif open but the big man fought with real heart to steal the win. Death Knight roared to the ring after the bout, ripping open the cage door and joined Exo-King in assaulting Massif, smashing him with a repeated number of high impact moves, then the two men ran to the backstage area before they could be challenged. It was only Massif's great fortitude that left him injured for no more than three cards.
- Non Title Bout -
- Tag Team Bout - The Henchmen vs. Neptunian Space-Croppers Renegade defeated Executioner with a Shoulder breaker at 1:33 Match Rating: 1.25 Match Notes: The Space Croppers made a mockery of the champions, claiming an easy win and leaving Executioner and Comrade Terror arguing with one another in the ring, much to the amusement of the crowd. Finally, the hero camp had something tangible to truly cheer about!
- Non Title Bout -
- Singles Bout - Thantos vs. Commander Sam Thantos defeated Commander Sam with a MASTERLOCK at 10:53 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: Thantos kept up his amazing unbeaten run by forcing the veteran Sam to tap out to his feared MASTERLOCK. Sam repeatedly tried to get himself going, seeking to bring about his traditional smashmouth style of wrestling, but Thantos was having none of it. The champion showed what a skilled competitor he is, a display of true wrestling proved yet again that he would probably go down in history as one of the best ever. Seems he is truly as good as he is unpopular.
The show faded to black as Thantos pushed Sam's face into the blood stain on the mat from Doc Strongbow's earlier beating.
Overall Card Rating: 2.66

With the exception of the one loss to Lord Nexus and Renegade... Executioner has been on a roll! That and he didn't lose in his heavyweight title bout... Star Warrior did! ... Think he deserves a one-on-one heavyweight title shot!

Thats a very good point Cernunnos.
Thantos has to defend against Exo-King at the next PPV (he earned that at right at Battlelines.)
But if Thantos isn't cut own to size soon, I can see him giving Executioner a "completely fair" title shot sometime soon!
