I feel really bad for Jim Leyland, and put a lot of blame on Verlander (and other players) for this embarrassment. Like I mentioned before, imo Verlander came emotionally unraveled way early in game 1, disgusted with the ump and the way he was calling balls and strikes. Then he arrogantly blew off the pitching coach who walked to the mound to calm him down. At a time the team needed V to be focused on the team, he appeared focused only on himself. I called a series L after game 1. Not proud of being right about that. I think that Verlander's meltdown trickled down to the rest of the team. By the time this thing was over some of these guys straight up quit. Fielder, Cabrera (he wasn't even trying on that last at bat).
This team is absolutely stacked in every area. Pitching, hitting, youth...no one else in the division is really even close right now. There's a strong argument that the Tigers are the best team in the whole AL. Maybe only Texas poses a true threat in the post-season. Regardless, the Tigers are in prime position to return to the playoffs for the next 3 + years minimum as Division Champs and continued cracks at the grand prize. I hope they remember this feeling and do something about it.

And Game 4 may have featured the worst rendition of God Bless America ever. Glad someone else noticed too! I think the one woman wasn't even trying to 'blend' like she should have!
